ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was categorized into three. First, to describe the effective sentence mastery of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Second, to describe the writing skills of a exposition of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Third, to describe the contribution of the effective sentence mastery into the writing skills of a exposition text made by the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang. The design of this research was quantitative with a descriptive method. Then, this study also was a correlational design. The population of this study was the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang for about 498 students. The sample of this study was taken by using a proportional random sampling technique (15%), which was 70 students. The data of this study were the results of effective sentence mastery and the results of the writing skill of a exposition text. The instrument of this study was an objective test to measure effective sentence mastery and performance tests to measure expositon text. There were several results of this study. First, the effective sentence mastery of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang was in Good qualifications (B). Second, the writing skills of a exposition of the first year students at SMK Negeri 2 Padang was in a Good qualification (B). Third, describe the effective sentence mastery contributed 82,00% to the exposition text writing skills of the first year students of SMK Negeri 2 Padang. Kata Kunci: kontribusi, penguasaan kalimat efektif,  keterampilan menulis teks eksposisi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the listening skills of class VIII interview at SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Second, describing the news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of listening skills to interviews with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was Class VIII of SMP Negeri 23 Padang. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 25% of the population, namely 51 students. The research data were test scores on interview listening skills and news text writing skills test scores. The research instrument was an objective test to measure interview listening skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the writing text skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang are in more than enough qualifications. Secondly, listening to interview skills is more than adequate. Third, listening skills interviewed were correlated at 7,41 with news text writing skills of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 23 Padang.                Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Menyimak Wawancara, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Berita

This study aims to explain the following. First, the relationship of reading interest, news writing skill of grade VIII students SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, the relationship between learning motivation with news writing skills of grade VIII students. Third, the relationship between reading interest and learning motivation with news writing skills of grade VIII students. The population was grade VIII students. Samples are 40 students grade VIII students SMP Negeri 24 Padang performed using proportional random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and performance tests. Questionnaire was used to see interest in reading and students' motivation, while performance tests conducted to determine the outcome of news riting skills of students. Analysis and discussion of the data is done in accordance with the concept of descriptive correlational study. Based on the research conducted can be summarized as the follows. First, there is a significant correlation between reading interest, the news writing skills of grade VIII students SMP Negeri 24 Padang. Secondly, there is a significant relationship between learning motivation and news writing skill of grade VIII students. Third, there is a significant relationship between interest in reading and learning motivation together with news writing skills students.

ABSTRACT There are three aims of this study. First, describe the skills of reading comprehention of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Second, describe the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. Third, describe the correlation of reading comprehention with the writing skills of the report observation text of VII grade students at SMP Negeri 33 Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative in terms of descriptive methods. The design used in this study is correlational design. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang which was registered in the 2018/2019 school year, it was 192 students. The sample in this study was determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, namely 36 students. The research data is in the form of scores on the skills test results of reading comprehention and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the report observation text. The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure report observation text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write report observation texts of  VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 82,99. Second, the skill of reading comprehention of VII grade students of the SMP Negeri 33 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,42. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and report observation text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. H0 is reject and H1is accepted because the tcount is greater than ttable (13,59 > 2,68).  Kata Kunci: Korelasi, Keterampilan Membaca Pemahaman, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Laporan Hasil Observasi.

The instrument of this study is an objective test to measure news reading comprehention skills and performance tests to measure news text writing skills. The results of this study are three. First, the skills to write news texts of  VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang is in accordance with the Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,25. Second, the skill of reading comprehention to the news text of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang in accordance with Good qualifications (B) with an averange value 81,37. Third, there is a significant correlation betwen reading comprehention skills and news text writing skills of VIII grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang on n-1 freedom degrees and 95% significant level. ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is three. First, describe the contribution of reading interest to the writing text description skills of class VII students of  SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Second, describe the contribution of learning motivation to the writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 7 Padang. Third, describe the contribution of reading interest and learning motivation together towards writing text description skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 7  Padang. The  type of this research is quantitative with descriptive methods. The design used in this research is correlational design. The population of this research was the seventh grade students of the SMP Negeri 7 Padang who were enrolled in the 2018/2019 school year, which was 251 students. The sample in this research was determined by simple random sampling using the Slovin formula from the population, which is 40 students. The data of this  research were scores on the results of filling in the reading interest questionnaire, the scores on the results of filling in the learning motivation questionnaire, and scores on the results of the test writing skills of the description text. The instrument of this research was a questionnaire to measure reading interest and student learning motivation and performance tests to measure description text writing skills. The results of this research are three. First, there is a contribution of reading interest towards the writing text description skills of 26,13%. Second, there is a contribution of learning motivation to the writing text description skills of 3,2%. Third, reading interest and learning motivation contribute to the writing text description skills of 30,25%.  Kata Kunci: Kontribusi, Minat Baca, Motivasi Belajar, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Deskripsi.

<p>Abstract: The purpose of this research at finding out empirical evidence concerning whether clustering technique and vocabulary mastery are effective or not for the student to write recount text. The research methodology used is an experiment. The sampling technique uses random sampling at Private Vocational High Schools in East Jakarta. Data collection is obtained by testing their vocabulary mastery and writing skills. Data analysis to test hypothesis is two ways ANOVA. The research results conclude 1) There is a significant effect of the clustering technique on students’ writing skills with the value (Sig) being 0.000 &lt; 0.05 and F0 = 36.740. 2) A significant effect of vocabulary mastery on students’ writing skills with the value (Sig) is 0.000 &lt; 0.05 and F0 = 72.161. 3) There is a significant interactive effect of clustering technique and vocabulary mastery on students’ writing skills. With the value (sig) is 0.018 &lt; 0.05 and F0 = 5.921. Then all of H0 is rejected, and H1 is accepted. So, there is the effect of clustering technique and vocabulary mastery on students’ writing skills in recount text.<br />Keywords: Clustering Technique, Vocabulary Mastery, Writing Skill, Recount Text</p>

Higher Secondary Education stage plays a very significant role in one’s life and is a basic stone on which one builds a beautiful castle of future higher education. The present study is to find out how parent involvement influences the achievement in Mathematics of higher secondary first year students in the coastal area of Kerala. The investigator adopted normative survey method for the study. A sample of 100 students of both Government and Aided Higher Secondary Schools was selected by random sampling technique. The statistical techniques such as Percentages and Chi-square employed. The result of the study can be made available to the parents of coastal area so that they can involve themselves in the learning process of their wards.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan perilaku asertif dengan penyesuaian diri pada siswa tahun pertama di SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin. Hipotesis yang diajukan adalah ada hubungan antara perilaku asertif dengan penyesuaian diri. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah siswa-siswi tahun pertama (kelas VII) SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin berjumlah 99 orang yang diambil dengan teknik cluster random sampling. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan skala yang terdiri dari skala perilaku asertif dan skala penyesuaian diri. Berdasarkan uji korelasi product moment Pearson diperoleh nilai signifikansi sebesar 0,000 dengan r = 0,627 yang berarti ada hubungan positif antara perilaku asertif dengan penyesuaian diri. Berdasarkan hasil, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada hubungan yang positif antara perilaku asertif dengan penyesuaian diri, sehingga semakin tinggi perilaku asertif maka semakin tinggi pula penyesuaian diri pada siswa tahun pertama di SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin.Kata kunci: Perilaku Asertif, Penyesuaian Diri The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between assertive behavior and self-adjustment in the first year students at SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin. The hypothesis was that there was a relationship between assertive behavior and self-adjustment. The samples in this study were 99 persons of the first year students (in class VII) of SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin, selected using cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using assertive behavior scale and self-adjustment scale. The results of the Pearson's product moment correlation test showed that the significance value was 0.000 with r = 0.627, indicating that there was a positive relationship between assertive behavior and self-adjustment. It can therefore be concluded that there was a positive relationship between assertive behavior and self-adjustment; therefore, the higher the assertive behavior, the higher the self-adjustment in the first year students at SMP Negeri 1 Banjarmasin.Keywords: Assertive Behavior, Self-Adjustment

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research there are three. First, describe vocabulary mastery Class VII students of SMP Negeri Padang 16. Second, it describes the text of the story of fantasy writing skills grade VII JUNIOR Country 16. Third, vocabulary mastery with correlation describes writing skills text story fantasy grade VII SMP Negeri Padang. 16.  This research type is quantitative descriptive method. The design used in this research is the design korelasional. This research population is grade VII SMP Negeri Padang 16. listed on the 2018/2019 school year, that is 284 students. The sample in this research are determined by proportional random sampling of 20% of the population, i.e. 50 students. Research data is a score test results and score vocabulary mastery test results writing skills text story fantasy. Research instrument is an objective test to measure mastery of vocabulary news and performance tests to measure the writing skills text story fantasy. Based on the results of such research, it can be inferred that the skills of listening text news is correlated with writing skills text news. The research is motivated by the following cases. First, students vocabulary deficiencies in writing so have difficulty in presenting ideas into a text. Second, the students do not understand about exposition text. Third, students difficult to differentiate exposition text with other text. Fourth, students difficult to develop ideas in writing, so that the resulting of their text is not in accordance with the idea that their think. Fifth, students difficult to write cohesion and coherence paragraphs. This type of this research is quantitative with correlation method. The population in this research is students of class X SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Padang Pariaman District with 281 students. In this research, the sampling technique is proportional random sampling with 27 students. In this research, there are two variables, are independent variable and the dependent variable. The independent variables are vocabulary mastery (X) and the dependent variable is the exposition text writing skills (Y). Conclusions of this research are as follows. First, vocabulary mastery of class X SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Padang Pariaman District with an average value of 73,17 which are in the category Lebih dari Cukup. Second, the writing skills exposition text of class X SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Padang Pariaman District with an average value of 70,98 which are in the category Lebih dari Cukup. Third, there is a relationship between the vocabulary mastery with writing skill exposition text of class X SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Padang Pariaman District because tcount&gt;ttable. The conclusion of this research is the vocabulary mastery is a factors that influence significantly the writing ability exposition text of class X SMA Negeri 1 2x11 Enam Lingkung Padang Pariaman District.
