ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describing the skill of writing fable texts of VII grade students of UPT SMP Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan before using discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media. Second, describing the skill of writing fable texts of VII grade students of UPT SMP Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan after using discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media. Third, describing the influence of discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media on fable text writing skills of seventh grade students of UPT SMP Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan. This type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study was one group pretest and posttest design. The population in this study were 167 students. The sample in this study were 28 students who were determined using purposive sampling technique. The variable of this research is fable text writing skills before and after using the discovery learning learning model assisted by audiovisual media of VII grade students of UPT SMP Negeri 1 Koto XI Tarusan. The instrument of this research is the performance test. The results of this study are three, namely as follows. First, fable text writing skills before using the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media of VII grade students of UPT SMP 1 Koto XI Tarusan are more than Sufficient (LdC) qualifications with an average of 72.62. Second, fable text writing skills after using the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media in seventh grade students of UPT SMP 1 Koto XI Tarusan are in a Good qualification (B) with an average of 81.25. Third, based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H_1) is received at a significant level of 95% and the degree of freedom (dk) = n-1 because of tcount> t table, which is 2.73> 1.70. Kata Kunci: pengaruh, model discovery learning, keterampilan menulis teks fabel.

Third, analyze the influence of the use of discovery learning models on fable text writing skills of class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman. this type of research is quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study was the design of one group pretest and posttest. The population of this study was the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman which amounted to 184 people scattered in six classes. The data of this study is the score of the results of the fable text writing skills test before and after using the discovery learning model. the instrument of this research is the performance test. The results of this study are three, namely as follows. First, fable text writing skills before using the discovery learning model, class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman are in a sufficient qualification (C) with an average value of 58.18. Second, fable text writing skills after using the discovery learning model, class VII students of SMP Negeri 4 Pariaman are in the qualification of More Than Enough (LdC) with an average value of 68.60. Third, based on the t-test at the level of 0.95 obtained tcount> t table (2.90> 1.70). Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that the discovery learning model can be used as a model problem in learning to write fable text. Kata kunci: Pengaruh, Discovery Learning, Teks fabel

The ability of description text writing is a competency that must be achieved in K.D 4.12. This research aims at improving writing skills by applying discovery learning model on students class VII-C of SMPN 3 Pancur Batu based on the result of classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles.This can be seen from the activities of students in the learning process which increasingly improves in each cycle in the first cycle an average of 63.33% and learning completeness isas many as 36.37% and increasing in the second cycle is obtained by an average of 87.67% and Learning condition is as many as 13.33%. It can be said that cycle II run very good. There has been an increase in the results of the description text writing skills because it gained a significant increase of 63 to 81. In this activity, the students did the followings: (1) observing activities, (2) finding activities, (3) asking activities, (4) trying activities, (5) communication activities. Based on the results of the above assessment conducted by the teacher, including  attitude competency assessment with direct observation techniques, knowledge competency assessment with written test techniques in the form of describing an object in the first cycle and then in the second cycle the written test returns a description question.

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this research was to describe things as follows. First, describes the skill level of writing the text explanatory grade VIII SMPN 20 Padang before using the the Discovery Learning model. Second, decsribes the skill level of writing the text explanatory grade VIII SMPN 20 Padang after using the Discovery Learning model. Third, analyzing the influence of use Discovery Learning model ti the skill level of the writing text explanatory grade VIII SMPN 20 Padang. This research used quantitative research which experimental method. This research draft is One Group Pretest and Posttest Design. Based on the reslt of the study, the following three things concluded. First, the explanatory text writing skills before using the Discovery Learning model of grade VIII SMPN 20 Padang are in qualification more than enough (LdC) with an average of 68,55. Second, the explanatory text writing skills after using the Discovery Learning model of eighth grade students of SMPN 20 Padang are in good qualifications (B) with an average of 79,00. Third, besed on t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H1) is aceepted at the 95% significant level and the degree of freedom (dk)= (n1+n2)-2 because tcount>ttable, which is 4,13>1,70.      Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Model Discovery Learning, Keterampilan  Menulis, Teks Eksplanasi

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study is three. First, describe the writing skills of exposition text of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang before using discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media. Second, describe the writing skills of exposition text of grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang after using discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media. Third, describe the influence of discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media on writing exposition text skills of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang. The sample in this study was class VIII.2 with 29 students. The results of this study are three, namely as follows. First, exposition text writing skills before using the discovery learning learning model assisted by audiovisual media of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang are in almost adequate qualifications with an average value of 53.45. Second, the skill of writing exposition text after using the discovery learning model assisted by audiovisual media of eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 25 Padang is in a qualification of more than enough with an average score of 70.11. Third, based on the t-test, the alternative hypothesis (H_1) is received at a significant level of 95% and the degree of freedom (dk) = n-1 because of tcount> t table, which is 4.79> 1.70. This means that there is a significant influence on the use of discovery learning models assisted by audiovisual media on the exposition writing skills of eighth grade students at SMP Negeri 25 Padang. Kata kunci: Pengaruh, Discovery Learning, Keterampilan Menulis Teks Eksposisi

In this study, theoretical concept of disovery learning are reviewed the influence model to the writing skills of argumentation of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Pariaman. The data of this study is the result of the skill of writing the argumentation without and by using the treatment. The data was collected by giving learning ofargumentation by using discovery learning model in experiment class. The test used in this study is a test performance to students in the form of writing test ofargumentation. Abstract writing skill writing skill and using treatment is compared to see the effect of discovery learning model by using t-test formula. The result of theresearch shows that (1) writing skill of argumentation of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Pariaman without using discovery learning model is in qualification Enough,(2) writing skill of argumentation using discovery learning model of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Pariaman is in Good qualification , (3) based on t-test, it can beconcluded that there is significant influence to the discovery learning model in learning writing writing argumentation of class X students of SMA Negeri 3 Pariaman.

The purpose of this study was to determine the activities that occur during the teaching process of writing Recount Texts using the Discovery Learning method and to identify the benefits obtained by students from writing the Recount Text using the Discovery Learning method in the 2013 curriculum there is one learning model called Discovery Learning. Discovery Learning can help students to learn better because students can think critically and creative. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The research respondents were English teachers and the tenth grade students of Ngamprah High School. Data obtained from observations and interviews. The results of the study revealed that the results of this study were positive. Students who are taught by using the method of Discovery Learning play an active role in the teaching and learning process. The composition of their writing also shows good results in terms of content, organization, Grammar,vocabulary, and mechanics. Therefore, it is recommended to apply this learning model to teach writing Recount Texts.Keywords:  Discovery Learning, Writing Skills, Recount Text

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research was to describe things as follow. First, describes the writing skills of the exposition text of grade VIII Junior High School 31 Padang before using the discovery learning model. Secondly, describes the writing skills of the exposition text of grade VIII Junior High School 31 Padang after using the discovery learning model. Third, analyze the effect of discovery learning models on the exposition writing skills of grade VIII studensts of Junior High School 31 Padang. The type of this research is quantitative research using experimental methods Based on the results of the study, can be concluded three things as follows. First, the writing skills of the exposition text of  grade VIII students of Junior High School 31 Padang before using discovery learning model are in fair qualifications (61,59). Secondly, the writing skills of exposition text of grade VIII students of Junior High School 31 Padang after using discovery learning model are in good qualifications (78,26). Third, there is a significant influence in the use of discovery learning models on the exposition writing skills of grade VIII students of Junior High School 31 Padang, so it can be concluded that H1 is accepted in H0 is rejected because the test results prove that tcount is greater than ttable (2,04>1,70). Kata Kunci: Pengaruh, Model Discovery Learning, Menulis Teks Eksposisi
