Crucial issues, as well as the classic issues that have always been the subject of historical learning problems related to activities or learning processes that tend to be monotonous, boring and lack of innovation and creativity of the teachers in designing historical learning activities that can generate students interest and motivation in learning the history. The 2013 curriculum presents a special challenge for teachers to design studentcentered learning activities using a scientific approach through problembased learning models, project-based learning and discovery learning models. One solution that can be done by history teachers in answering the challenges of the 2013 curriculum is to design learning activities through historical comics. Historical teachers can apply problem-based learning models by utilizing historical comics that are already available on the market as well as on the internet. In addition, history teachers can also apply project-based learning models through activities of making comic history by learners in accordance with the historical learning material learned. The design of learning activities through comics is expected to create innovations in the form of historical comics as a result of the design and creativity of the students. The process of learning history through the making of comics is certainly based on a scientific approach and student-centered. History teachers are asked to direct, provide solutions and suggestions to improve the quality of learning activities and learning outcomes as well as the quality of historical comic produced by students.

The learning process on the 2013 curriculum uses a scientific approach that emphasizes students' activity in learning (student-centered learning). Learning that uses a scientific approach needs to be supported by the appropriate model and method. Project-based learning is one of the suggested learning models in the 2013 curriculum (K13). This learning model is designed to engage students in investigating real-world problems in their learning. Project-based learning drives teaching and learning, involves students in the learning process, motivates, and enhances the creativity of students. Hence, project-based learning is the appropriate learning model to improve students' creativity because it requires the students to be directly involved in their learning. Besides, students will also be more interested in learning because the problems used are related to their environment. Thus, the purpose of this paper is sharing the effectiveness of project-based learning model in improving students' creativity.

General pedagogy in higher education is constrained in terms of creativity and innovation. In the area of History Education, many teachers view history as a single accurate story about the past so they are slow in embracing dialogic and inclusive pedagogies that are mediated by emerging technologies (ETs) that can bring interpretation of the past in conversation with the present. This may become an impediment to improving the quality of learning since today’s students need to be taught using ETs that are aligned with the way they learn and think. Therefore, this study sought to support students’ participation in doing history mediated by ETs. Data was collected using interviews and observation from an educator and 20 pre-service teachers at Makerere University. The data were analysed through a Hermeneutic cycle-driven analysis. The findings revealed that historicity is constructed through active engagement in doing history by interpreting images, videos, pictures and texts as relics from the past afforded by ETs. Dialogical approaches to learning history through open conversations between the educator and students embedded by ETs helped the pre-service teachers to learn in a democratic way. If utilized this will be relevant to the pre-service teachers’ future students.

Historical learning has not reached optimal in the learning process. It is caused by the history teachers’ learning model has not used the innovative learning models. Furthermore, it supported by the perception of students to the history subject because it does not become final exam (UN) subject so it makes less improvement and builds less critical thinking in students’ daily learning. This is due to the lack of awareness of historical events and the availability of history books for students and teachers in the library are still lacking. Discovery learning with scientific approach encourages students to solve problems actively and able to improve students' critical thinking skills with scientific approach so student can build scientific thinking include observing, asking, reasoning, trying, and networking.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning models on students' creative thinking abilities in mathematics, the influence of learning interest on students' creative thinking abilities and the interaction of learning models and learning interests on students' creative thinking abilities. The research method used was an experiment conducted at schools in Serang District, namely at SMAN 1 Pontang and SMAN 1 Tirtayasa class XI IPA even semester by taking a sample of one school as an experimental class and one other school as a control class with the population being all students of class XI IPA and the samples are students of class XI IPA 4 of SMAN 1 Pontang and class XI IPA 1 of SMAN 1 Tirtayasa with a random sampling technique that is a random sampling strategy based on the assumption that members of the population are homogeneous. Data is collected by testing the ability to think creatively and through interest in learning mathematics. Analysis of data with descriptive statistical methods, with two-way ANAVA test. This research was conducted in March to June 2014. The results of the study with the two-way ANAVA test showed: (1). There is an influence of learning models on students' creative mathematical thinking abilities, this can be proven by the value of F = 37,202 and sig.0,000 <0.05 (2). There is an influence of interest in learning on students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. This can be proven by the value of F = 136,463 sig. = 0.00 <0.05 (3). There is no effect of interaction between learning models and learning interest on students' creative mathematical thinking abilities. This can be proven by the value of F = 1,293 sig. 0.260> 0.05. The implication of this is that an educator must be able to design or design learning activities effectively, attractively and fun with a variety of learning methods in accordance with the learning material and students 'abilities in an effort to improve students' mathematical creative thinking abilities. Jigsaw model can be a reference in learning activities. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of learning models on students' creative thinking abilities in mathematics, the influence of learning interest on students' creative thinking abilities and the interaction of learning models and learning interests on students' creative thinking abilities.
