The increasingly challenging and competitive artwork production environment has prompted visual artists to have an arrangement of state-of-the-art art production practices. Currently, the system of production and marketing of works does not have a clear guideline in the industry that can help in the survival of professional visual artists in Malaysia. Therefore, this study is designed to get clear feedback from those who are already active in this industry related to the challenges faced and the marketability of the works of visual artists to continue to compete in the local and international art production stage. This paper aims to identify the non -technical practices required for the successful implementation and marketing of works of art in Malaysia. The results of this study will provide a detailed study of the practices of visual artists in the implementation and marketing that need to be considered by those who will venture into the arena of professional production. Through this paper, a framework has been developed through a comprehensive review from the point of view of literature as well as practical practice. In 1996, the first Report of the US Surgeon General on Physical Activity and Health provided an extensive knowledge overview about the positive effects of physical activity (PA) on several health outcomes and PA recommendations. This contributed to an enhanced interest for PA in Sweden. The Swedish Professional Associations for Physical Activity (YFA) were appointed to form a Scientific Expert Group in the project “Sweden on the Move” and YFA created the idea of Physical Activity on Prescription (FaR) and the production of a handbook (FYSS) for healthcare professionals. In Swedish primary care, licensed healthcare professionals, i.e. physicians, physiotherapists and nurses, can prescribe PA if they have sufficient knowledge about the patient’s current state of health, how PA can be used for promotion, prevention and treatment and are trained in patient-centred counselling and the FaR method. The prescription is followed individually or by visiting local FaR providers. These include sport associations, patient organisations, municipal facilities, commercial providers such as gyms, sports clubs and walking clubs or other organisations with FaR educated staff such as health promoters or personal trainers. In clinical practice, the FaR method increases the level of PA in primary care patients, at 6 and at 12 months. Self-reported adherence to the prescription was 65% at 6 months, similar to the known compliance for medications. In a randomised controlled trial, FaR significantly improved body composition and reduced metabolic risk factors. It is suggested that a successful implementation of PA in healthcare depends on a combination of a systems approach (socio-ecological model) and the strengthening of individual motivation and capability. General support from policymakers, healthcare leadership and professional associations is important. To lower barriers, tools for implementation and structures for delivery must be readily available. Examples include handbooks such as FYSS, the FaR system and the use of pedometers.

A method for solving resource-intensive tasks that actively use the CPU, when the computing resources of one server become insufficient, is proposed. The need to solve this class of problems arises when using various machine learning models in a production environment, as well as in scientific research. Cloud computing allows you to organize distributed task processing on virtual servers that are easy to create, maintain, and replicate. An approach based on the use of free software implemented in the Python programming language is justified and proposed. The resulting solution is considered from the point of view of the theory of queuing. The effect of the proposed approach in solving problems of face recognition and analysis of biomedical signals is described.

This study has investigated the problem of finding the impact of social media in adoption of new trends of visual arts on established visual artists of twin cities and also how social media facilitates in disseminating new techniques of visual arts among the art practitioners. The aims of the research were to investigate the impact of social media in adoption of new trends of visual arts among established visual artists, and also to evaluate the existing techniques of visual arts through diffusion innovation model among the established visual artists. The researcher has conducted interviews of established visual artists, questionnaires were also furnished. The stakeholders were practicing field visual artists (studio based) and visual art educators (art teachers). The result concluded from the present study was that adoption of social media has a positive significant relation with adoption of new trends of arts and impact on the skills of artists whereas adoption of social media has a negative but significant relation with use of social media.

The aim was to create a mathematical model describing the development of a production (shop-to-shop) routing of mechanical engineering products based on a 3D model and allowing the cost of the final product to be reduced. The developed mathematical model was simulated based on 3D models designed in the Siemens NX system, which were subsequently imported into the *stp format and recognized by a designed module written in the Phyton programming language. The factors of the production environment affecting the formation of the production routing of mechanical engineering products were determined. A diagram of the algorithm for the “constructive element - technological operation - means of technological equipment (equipment-tool)” relationship was developed. Based on the results of testing the developed mathematical model, the use of neural networks as a tool for the implementation and automation of the work was found advantageous as compared to the standard scheme of work of a process engineer when developing a production routing of mechanical engineering products. These advantages include a decrease in the time for the development of a routing and the cost of the final product. The developed model has a practical limitation consisting in a rather complex geometry of some structural elements of a unit, which impedes the development of an algorithm for recognizing their structure. The use of a neural network prototype in automatic mode is advisable for relatively simple parts (including a flange, hole, chamfer and rounding). However, since the number of simple units from the recognition point of view amounts to about 40% among the nomenclature of manufactured units, the reduction in the development time of the technological process in comparison with the conventional approach comprises only 10–25% of the total time of technological preparation.

El modelo ecológico de Bronfenbrenner permite observar cómo diversos factores interactúan ante un cambio de hábitat y entender las adecuaciones al habitar de la población reubicada. Se explora el proceso de apropiación tras la reubicación en la ciudad rural sustentable (CRS) Nuevo Juan del Grijalva en Chiapas, México. A partir de una encuesta de hogares se caracteriza a la población reubicada y se analizan las transformaciones espaciales y la apropiación psicológica del espacio resultante de habitar un nuevo hábitat. Los resultados muestran la pérdida de las prácticas de producción rural y las alternativas para independizarse y obtener una vivienda en la CRS.AbstractBronfenbrenner’s ecological model makes it possible to observe how various factors interact in a change of habitat and to understand the living adjustments made by the resettled population. This article explores the appropriation process after relocation in a sustainable rural city (SRC), Nuevo Juan del Grijalva, in Chiapas, Mexico. The results of a household survey are used to characterize the resettled population, and the spatial transformations and psychological appropriation of the resulting space when a new habitat is inhabited are analyzed. The results show the loss of rural production practices and alternatives for achieving independence and obtaining housing in the SRC.

This first chapter emphasises what Burke’s Enquiry owes to the existing discourse on the sublime (to Longinus and Addison in particular), in order to highlight its innovations, more specifically its aesthetically stimulating irrationalism and sensualism. It then focuses on Burke’s unique distinction between visual and verbal representation, his rejection of their common mimetic basis, and his argument that only the non-mimetic, suggestive medium of the verbal arts, language, may impart the sublime. At a time when parallels between the arts prevailed, this was an isolated point of view, which introduced a new paragone situation, and a challenge to visual artists. The end of the chapter examines a number of competing theories of the sublime that were compatible with painting, which makes it possible to enhance the specificity of the Enquiry and the paradox of its appeal to visual artists.

Edwin Denby is best remembered as one of the preeminent critics of dance modernism, yet he was also an accomplished poet and an experienced dancer, choreographer, and librettist. Both his poetic gifts and his practical experience in the theater informed his dance criticism, first collected in Looking at the Dance (1949) and amplified in Dancers, Buildingsand People in the Streets (1965). As the title of his 1965 volume suggests, Denby placed primacy on the pleasures of perception, recording what he saw rather than advocating for a distinct point of view, as did his contemporaries Lincoln Kirstein and John Martin. Denby’s sensibility was widely admired in New York’s postwar avant-garde milieus, and he became an important friend, muse, mentor, and tutelary spirit to visual artists—including Rudy Burckhardt, Willem and Elaine de Kooning, and Alex Katz—and to New York School poets—especially Frank O’Hara, James Schuyler, John Ashbery, Ted Berrigan, Ron Padgett, and Anne Waldman. In the last several decades of his life, Denby continued to be a key figure in the downtown scene across several performance genres.

TeleCR is an innovative and (cost-)effective preventive care delivery strategy that can overcome the challenges associated with traditional centre-based cardiac rehabilitation (CR). This chapter describes how it can be implemented in daily practice. From an organizational point of view, it implies a shift in traditional and operational workflows and reorganization of the (non-)human resources for care delivery. The establishment of a well-coordinated tele-team, the definition of clear goals, profound progress monitoring and follow-up, and the creation of an environment that promotes sustained delivery of teleCR are paramount. Tackling the current legal and technological challenges is another prerequisite for successful implementation.

This paper describes the development and successful implementation of a system designed to detect coal deposits remaining in coal train wagons after unloading (dumping). These undesirable coal deposits constitute both small residual amounts of “carryback”, but also larger “hang-ups” of significant volume that have failed to discharge. The system was originally developed simply to detect and record volumes of carryback, as part of an effort to characterise the extent of the problem for the coal transport industry, but was then enhanced to provide real-time feedback of large hang-ups so that they could be discharged prior to the wagons exiting the dump station. The paper describes the hardware and processing systems used in the system, including the different strategies employed to ensure a reliable detection system. The system has now been installed and operated in a production environment at three dump stations across two different coal terminals, and a case study of the results from one of these dump stations is presented. Automating remnant coal detection at dump stations provides short interval control to minimise potential hazards and downtime, and historical data that may be integrated into existing data platforms and analysed for productivity, environmental, and safety planning insights.

This chapter explores the influence of Hesiod’s Theogony on Greek visual artists of the archaic period (ca. 700–480 bce). Since dozens of divinities and heroes mentioned in the poem appear in sculpture and (more often) vase painting and cannot be systematically treated, one major work with strong Hesiodic associations is examined as a test case. The Attic black-figure dinos signed by the painter Sophilos and dated ca. 580 bce includes more than thirty gods and goddesses participating in the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, future parents of Achilles. All of these can be found in the Theogony, and the poem can be a helpful guide to understanding how the individual figures are placed in the procession. The unique depiction of Okeanos on the dinos illustrates especially well the complex relationship of text and image.
