During the last few years India have maximum increase of Type II diabetes mellitus . The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus is 2.4% in rural population and 11.6% in urban population[1] . In this study total 10 Subjects of newly diagnosed type II Diabetes Mellitus, who fullled below criteria were selected from D.Y. Patil Ayurvedic Hospital Nerul Navi Mumbai OPD No.1. a) HbA1c level more than 6.5% b) Fasting blood Sugar level (FBS) more than 126 mg/dL (7 mmol/L) c) 2-hour Post Prandial Blood Sugar level (PPBS) more than 200 mg/dL (11.1 mmol/L). All 10 subjects treated with Nisha Amalaki Churna 3gms BD one hour before breakfast and before dinner with warm water for three months. Data of subjective parameters and physical examination of subjects was recorded in CRF during three visits 30 days apart. For Statistical Analysis Wilcoxon matched-pairs signed-ranks test was used to assess Subjective parameters and Paired t-Test was used to compare Fasting Blood Sugar level, two hour post prandial blood sugar levels and HbA1C levels BT and AT. The study showed signicant results in most of the subjective parameters at the level of signicance (P<0.05). Nisha Amalaki Churna reduced Fasting blood sugar levels and post Prandial blood sugar levels signicantly at level of signicance p<0.01. Nisha Amalaki Churna also reduced HbA1C levels signicantly at level of signicance p<0.01.The Ayurvedic mixture Nisha Amalaki Churna was signicantly effective in newly diagnosed Type II Diabetes Mellitus subjects.

Latar Belakang: Diabetes merupakan penyakit yang jumlah penderitanya semakin bertambah dan merupakan ancaman serius bagi pembangunan kesehatan nasional. Salah satu jenis latihan fisik yang direkomendasikan untuk penderita diabetes melitus tipe II adalah jalan kaki.Tujuan: Penelitian ini untuk menganalisis pengaruh jalan kaki terhadap kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II.Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah pra eksprimen dengan pendekatan one group pre and posttest design menggunakan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling. Analisa data melalui uji T Dependen kepada 15 orang responden.Hasil: Rata-rata kadar gula darah sebelum jalan kaki adalah sebesar 238,2 mg/dl sedangkan sesudah jalan kaki rata-rata kadar gula darah sebesar 203,4 mg/dl. Ada pengaruh jalan kaki terhadap kadar gula darah pada pasien diabetes mellitus tipe II (p value = 0,000).Kesimpulan: Perawat diharapkan dapat memberikan pendidikan kesehatan mengenai pengaruh jalan kaki terhadap penurunan kadar gula darah pasien DM tipe II. Background: Diabetes is a disease that the number of sufferers is increasing and is a serious threat to national health development. One type of physical exercise recommended for client with type II diabetes mellitus is walking. Objective: This research is to analyze the effect of walking on blood sugar levels in client with diabetes mellitus type II.Method: The research design is pre-experiment with one group pre and posttest design approach and purposive sampling technique. Data analysis through Dependent T test to 15 people.Result: Clients with type II diabetes mellitus before walking had an average blood sugar level of 238.2 mg/dl while after walking on average blood sugar levels of 203.4 mg/dl. There is influence of walking to blood sugar level of type II diabetes mellitus clients (p value = 0,000).Conclusion: The nurse is expected to give health education about the effect of walking to decrease blood sugar level of DM type II.  Keywords: Walking , Blood sugar level, Diabetes mellitus type II

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a glucose metabolism disease characterized by an increase in blood sugar levels and impaired metabolism of fats, protein, and carbohydrates due to a lack of the hormone insulin, both absolutely and relatively. Alternative treatment of diabetes mellitus with complementary therapies, namely acupressure and smart gymnastic, can improve the fasting blood sugar level. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of acupressure and smart gymnastic on fasting blood sugar levels among patients with type II diabetes mellitus. True experimental study pretest and post-test with non-equivalent control group design were applied in this study. Repeated Measure, ANOVA test, showed a significant difference with the mean fasting blood sugar level p-value 0.000 (<0.05). The intervention group is better at lowering fasting blood sugar levels than control group 1 and control group 2 seen from the higher value difference. Conclusion of acupressure therapy with smart gymnastics three times a week for four weeks effectively reduces fasting blood sugar level in a patient with type II diabetes mellitus. This study can be used as a reference for further research, with a larger sample size, controlling the patient's diet, and a longer duration of intervention, so that the results obtained are more valid.

A research plan has been developed in the present study to address the problems associated with Avaranajanya Madhumeha (type 2 diabetes). This research plan is based on the treatment methods of Ayurveda (ancient Indian medicine) and utilization of modern scientific methods as research tools. A specific ayurvedic herbo-mineral formulation has been prepared in Ghansatt (solid extract) form; the selected eight herbs and one herbo-mineral have anti-hyperglycemic (PRAMEHA HARA) and antihypercholestermic (MEDOHARA) properties with rejuvenative (RASAYANA) effects as described in classical ayurvedic methods. 15 diagnosed type II diabetes mellitus patients were selected through accidental sampling. Ayurvedic formulation was prescribed to type II diabetes patients for one year along with dietary restrictions. Diabetic diagnostic parameters of these patients like Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS), Post Patrum Blood Sugar (PPBS), Glycocylated Hemoglobin (HbA1C) and Urine Sugar Fasting were monitored every three months; these were measured before and after intervention. The obtained data were statistically analyzed through paired t-test. There was significant reduction in FBS level, PPBS level, HbA1C level and urine fasting sugar level in type 2 diabetes patients who completed the clinical trial successfully. Thus, ayurvedic formulation treatment lead to an overall significant reduction in blood sugar and urine sugar levels in type II diabetes patients. No side effects were noted during the study period. This study suggests that the ayurvedic formulation had very good hypoglycemic effects proved by clinical improvement and bio-chemical analysis of diabetes parameters in the treatment of type II diabetes mellitus.

Type II diabetes is caused by insulin resistance resulting in high blood sugar levels. Although the typical symptoms of diabetes are described as polyuria, polydipsia and fatigue as many as 60% of newly diagnosed patients with type II diabetes are asymptomatic. Here authors present a case of a 39-year-old male patient who presented with localized pruritus affecting the medial aspects of his forearms and upper legs as the sole symptom of newly diagnosed type II diabetes mellitus. The itch symptom markedly improved on significantly reducing his dietary intake of sugars and with the use of metformin. Authors hope to alert clinicians to consider the possibility of underlying diabetes in such presentations to enable swift diagnosis and consequent treatment. It is unusual to find patients presenting with localized itch without any corresponding cutaneous manifestations as a presentation of type II diabetes.

A study was carried out, in order to assess the risk factors associated with type-II diabetes mellitus in males (Age≥40 years) in district Mardan. Four hundred cases and controls (Each 200) were selected from 10 union councils (7 rural and 3 urban) by a systematic sampling method. In order to select cases and controls, all were interviewed for medical history, on fulfillment of which, cases and controls were separately included for study. In anthropometry, weight, and height were taken for Body Mass Index while waist and hip circumference were taken for waist-to-hip ratio. Fasting blood sugar of cases and controls was determined with the glucometer. Cases and controls were interviewed with Food frequency questionnaire and other questionnaires in order to assess the demographic and socioeconomic characters of the families. The results disclosed that most of the cases had family history of diabetes. In addition to that, cases were also found to have higher (p<0.05) average weight, height and body mass index, and fasting blood sugar level to those of controls. These results also revealed that there was a distinguished (p<0.05) association between dairy and fruit with the health status and about 1/3rd of both cases and controls had satisfactory consumption of dairy and fruit only. A significant link was found among family size, exercise, type of exercise, duration of exercise, watching television, duration of watching television and the status of disease. The study revealed that a combination of anthropometric, dietary and demographic variables were associated with type-II diabetes mellitus in male adult population of district Mardan.

Type-II Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disorder which characterised by the increase of blood glucose level (hypergliycemia). The purpose of this study was to determine the prevalence of type-II Diabetes Mellitus in the Puskesmas of Blangkejeren, Gayo Lues District in 2015-2017 and to investigate the patient lifestyle. The research was conducted is descriptive method by colleting data from patient medical record and the result showed that the prevalence of type-II Diabetes Mellitus in 2015-2017 is 16,2 %, the patients were dominated by female and those in the age of 40-49. Most of patients found to have higher daily sugar intake

Latar Belakang : Meningkatnya angka penyakit diabetes melitus tipe 2 khususnya di Indonesia bersamaan dengan meningkatnya komplikasi salah satunya diabetic foot ulcer yang juga merupakan faktor terjadinya gangguan sensitivitas pada kaki. Pencegahan dapat dilakukan dengan mengukur sensitivitas kaki dengan menggunkan monofilmen test. Tujuan Penelitian : Untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat sensitivitas kaki pada penderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Rumah Sakit Muhammadiyah Palembang. Metode Penelitian : Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian dengan metode Deskripti Analitik dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik sampling menggunakan convenience sampling pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 di Rumah Sakit Muhammadiyah Palembang yang berjumlah 60 responden. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2 berusia 59,45 tahun dan sebagaian besar berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan tingkat pendidikan sebesar 33,3% SD dan 33,3% SMA. Rerata responden juga menderita diabetes melitus tipe 2 selama 3,58 tahun dengan sebagian besar responden tidak berkerja dan tidak berolahraga. Serta tingkat sensitivitas kaki pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe 2yang tidak ada rasa dengan frekuensi tertinggi yaitu pada dorsal kaki sebanyak 25 orang (41,67%), metatarsal head ke-1 sebanyak 23 orang (38,33%), Midfoot bagian Medial sebanyak 22 orang (36,67), jari tengah sebnayk 21 orang (35%), metatarsal head ke-3 sebanyak 20 orang (33,33%), Midfoot bagian lateral sebanyak 20 orang (33,33%), Tumit sebanyak 18 orang (30%), jari kelingking sebanyak 18 orang (30%), metatarsal haed ke-2 sebanyak 17 orang (28,33%), dan terendah yaitu padajempol kaki dengan frekuensi 12 responden (20%). Kesimpulan : sensitivitas kaki pada pasien diabetes melitus tipe II yaitu terendah pada dorsal kaki.   Background: The increasing number of type II diabetes mellitus, especially in Indonesia together with the increase in complications, one of which is diabetic foot ulcer, which is also a factor in sensitivity to the feet. Prevention can be done by measuring foot sensitivity by using a monofilment test. Objective: To find out the description of the level of sensitivity of the foot in patients with type II diabetes mellitus patients in Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang. Method of Researvh: This research is a research with Analytic Descriptive method with quantitative approach. The sampling technique uses convenience sampling in patients with type II diabetes mellitus at Muhammadiyah Hospital Palembang, amounting to 60 respondents. Result of Research: The results showed that the average type II diabetes mellitus patients were 59.45 years old and most were male with education level of 33.3% elementary school and 33.3% high school. The average respondent also suffered from type II diabetes mellitus for 3.58 years with most respondents not working and not exercising. And the level of sensitivity of the foot in patients with type II diabetes mellitus that does not have the highest frequency is the dorsal foot of 25 people (41.67%), the first metatarsal head of 23 people (38.33%), Midfoot of the Medial section of 22 people (36.67), middle fingers 21 people (35%), 3rd metatarsal head as many as 20 people (33.33%), lateral midfoot as many as 20 people (33.33%), Heel as many as 18 people ( 30%), the pinky finger was 18 people (30%), the second metatarsal haed were 17 people (28.33%), and the lowest was the big toe with a frequency of 12 respondents (20%). Conclusion: Foot sensitivity in type II diabetes mellitus patients is lowest in the dorsal foot.
