A total of 148 teacher candidates, 79 (53.40%) female and 69 (46.60%) male, studying in different departments of the Physical Education and Sports School of Kafkas University participated in the study. IBM SPSS Statistics v22 package program was used in the statistical analysis of the data. The skewness and kurtosis test were used to test the data for normality and it was determined that the data did not have a normal distribution. In order to evaluate whether the data is homogeneous; “Anova-Homogenety of variance” test was applied and it was determined that the data were not homogeneous. It was observed that the total score average of the "attitudes towards distance education" of the Physical Education and Sports School students was 103.50±13.02. When examined in terms of gender, it was determined that the mean score of male students was 105.02±13.41 and that of female students was 102.16±.12.60. When examined in terms of place of residence, 86 (58.10) students living with their families are 104.44±12.15, students living in student housing/own house 31 (20.90) are 100.70±15.95, 15 (10.10) in dormitories. 105.06±5.16 and lastly 102.37±16.33 points in 16 of the relatives (10.8) households were determined. When examined in terms of the department, it was found that the 43(49.3) department of Teaching was 102±78, the coaching department was 30(20.30), 103.36±8.15, and finally the 45(30.4) department was found to be 104.75±11.96. As a result; in the study, in which the opinions of the students studying in the sports education institutions of the universities about Distance Education are evaluated, it is seen that it is similar to the literature and is in an acceptable range. Physical Education, that is a subject where physical activity and sports dominate, has become to be considered as non-academic subject. It might easily be inferred from this that high academic grades can be achieved just by practicing sports while other factors, such as the student’s interest and effort, would be irrelevant. Therefore, the present study examined the relationship between the academic achievement in physical education, persistence-effort, extracurricular sports and the academic and physical self-concept of students enrolled in the last courses of primary education. A sample of 224 students (aged 10-13; M = 10.98, SD = 0.71) participated in the study. Multiple regression analysis showed hat academic achievement in physical education was better explained by academic self-concept, followed by extracurricular sport and physical self-concept, F(3, 216) = 12.341, p < .000, R2 = .15. Differences were found in these results according to gender, V = .064, F(4, 213) = 3.643, p = .007, η2p = .064, and academic achievement, V = .093, F(4, 213) = 5.492, p < .001, η2p = .093. Male students manifested higher levels of extracurricular sport and physical self-concept. On the other hand, students with high academic achievement showed higher levels in all variables except extracurricular sport. These findings suggest that, likewise happens in other subjects, the academic variables plays an important role in predicting academic achievement in physical education.

To investigate the reliability of the Achievement Motivation in Physical Education Test (AMPET) and reexamine its factor structure, 10,055 elementary, junior high, and high school students in Japan were tested. The AMPET has seven 8-item subscales consisting of learning strategy (LS), overcoming obstacles (OO), diligence and seriousness (DS), competence of motor ability (CMA), value of learning (VL), anxiety about stress-causing situations (ASCS), and failure anxiety (FA), respectively. The ASCS and FA subscales are associated with negative aspects of the AMPET, while the other five sub-scales are related to positive aspects. The AMPET also contains an 8-item lie scale. The subjects were asked to respond along 5-point Likert rating scales. Item-subscale correlations of the AMPET were sufficiently high. Alpha reliabilities ranged from .797 to .950, and test-retest reliabilities after 5 weeks were .651 to .883. Elementary school pupils showed significantly higher mean scores on the positive aspects of the AMPET than junior high and high school students. The means of female students on the negative aspects of the AMPET were significantly higher than those of male students. Seven factors were extracted from the principal components factor analysis with normal vari-max rotation. Each factor was composed of the seven different subscales of the AMPET.

Objective: This study explored whether pupils’ state body satisfaction during physical education related to the degree to which they indicated that physical education stimulated them to engage in sports activities outside of school. It also investigated whether pupils’ self-determined motivation mediated this relationship, such that pupils with higher body satisfaction were more likely to value and enjoy the lessons, and to indicate they would re-engage in the activities outside of physical education. Methods: The study involved 506 13–14-year-old pupils (51.19% girls) in England, who completed validated questionnaires to measure perceived body satisfaction, motivation for physical education and the perceived sport promoting role of physical education. Results: Results showed that body satisfaction positively related to the perceived sport promoting role of physical education in girls. The relationship between state body satisfaction during physical education and the perceived sport promoting role of physical education was partially mediated by pupils’ self-determined motivation. Conclusion: Pupils who felt more comfortable and satisfied with their physical appearance seemed to value and enjoy physical lessons more, and this more positive experience stimulated them to re-engage in the activities outside school.

The results of research and analysis of indicators of physical development, physical preparedness and functional state of the cardiovascular, respiratory, muscular systems of students of Cherkasy State Technological University during the three years of study are presented. There are methods that were used during this: methodological and biological, anthropometric, physiometric measurements, instrumental research methods, methods of mathematical data processing. Result of the researches have shown significant difference in indicators of physical development and negative dynamics of indicators of the functional state students‟ body during three years of study. There is a fact that shows a lack of activities and low effectiveness of two-hour training of physical education during the weeks in HEI. All this points to the need to change the process of physical education in educational institutions; the introduction of new approaches and technologies for the organization of the educational process; formation of motivational and valuable attitude of student youth to their own health, physical and sports improvement.
