This research aimed to determine the potential of ecotourism that can be developed and to analyze visitor perceptions and to formulate environmental management strategies for development of ecotourism in TWA Danau Buyan. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative with the techniques, namely observation, interviews and questionnaires. The result of this indicate that the potential tourist attractions in TWA Lake Buyan area already exist including jungle tracking, camping, cannoing, selfie spot, outbond locations that have paid attention to environmental issues by involving the community. The perceptions of visitors were based on the function of the area, management policies, tourism activities, facilities and infrastructure, and on the willingness to stay generally quite good. Based on the IE table, the management strategy matrix was ??in quadrant V (Five) or in the hold and maintain and survival phase. These strategies included: a) Developing the unique potential in TWA Lake Buyan both natural resource potentials such as biodiversity (flora and fauna), landscape beauty, and community socio-cultural potential that could be developed and packaged into  ecotourism package, b) Increasing support from the local government and participation of local communities to optimize the quality improvement of ODTW TWA Danau Buyan, both facilities and infrastructure tourism, public facilities, human resources, and increasing the promotion of cultural and spiritual tourism to foreign tourist, c) Increasing supervision in field, increasing guidance and counseling on the benefits of tourist attraction to the community, as well as inviting the public and tourists to actively participated in preserving the forest and existing tourism objects (environmentally friendly tourism awareness activities), d) Build cooperation and synergy with competent stakeholders, including the Tourism Office, the KSDA unit, the Agriculture Office, Academics, Non-Governmental Organization, local community organizations, and open for opportunities to do collaboration with the surrounding community. The development of the area for tourism purposes should have good sensitivity related to the product to consumption aspects, where the interaction between the local community is seen as the supply (insider) produce the products, which can then be consumed by the visitor as demand (outsider). Such sensitivity can be seen in the space between the private realm and the public sphere called the interface space. Development of the area for tourism, will enhance the touristsaccessibility in exploring its uniqueness as a tourist attraction. Accessible tourist attractions can improve the degree of permeability, which can also affect the degree of privacy of local communities. Singosaren as an area that will be designed as part of the united Kotagede tourist destinations, Yogyakarta, should consider the influence of tourism activities on a daily basis of the community. Permeability study in the area with mapping method, is expected to connect local potency to the circulation pattern in the interface, by finding the street corridor that needs to be anticipated, to maintain the sustainability of tourism activities in Singosaren area.

The purpose of this study was focused on knowing the perceptions of tourists, both foreign tourists, about the craft of Karawo embroidery in Gorontalo Tourism Destinations. This research method using a quantitative approach itself is carried out using a questionnaire given to the public and tourists who visit the Karawo embroidery craft center. The sampling technique in this study used a non-probability or non-random sample selection technique. The results showed that the quantitative approach itself was carried out using a questionnaire given to the public and tourists who visited the Karawo embroidery craft center. The sampling technique in this study used a non-probability or non-random sample selection technique. The results of this study indicate that the Karawo embroidery craft has the potential to be developed as a tourist attraction in Gorontalo Province. Analysis of the attractiveness and perceptions of tourists who visit the Karawo embroidery craft center as well as the local community provide direction on the development of tourist attractions that are related to cultural aspects. The perception of foreign tourists in general gives a positive value to Karawo embroidery and argues that Karawo embroidery is unique from the manufacturing process and has its own characteristics with very beautiful motif designs.

Abstract The diversity of tourism objects owned by the city of Surabaya makes the city of Surabaya as one of the cities in Indonesia that is worthy to be visited with tourist destinations of various ages ranging from children to adult visitors. The diversity of tourism objects owned include Nature Tourism, Educational Tourism, Religious Tourism, and City Tourism. The existence of tourist attractions in the city of Surabaya must be published to the public with the main goal of attracting visitors to come for tours. To be able to publish it, media facilities are needed to support the marketing communication process. This study focuses on the strategy of selecting media as a marketing communication to introduce Surabaya City tourism objects. This research is qualitative with descriptive design. This study aims that the selection of communication media is carried out in appropriate stages so that the aim is to introduce the tourism object of Suarabaya City to the whole community and be able to attract visitors to travel.

Aims of this study were identifying the potential of nature tourism, assessing the economic contribution to the local community and formulating a model of eco-tourism development in Peliatan village, Ubud, Bali. Results of this research showed that the potential of nature tourism were: natural landscapes, rivers, water springs, rice fields, flora and fauna. The nature tour activities that can be developed were as follows: trekking, cycling, rural tourism, outbound travel, camping, educational nature tours, and flora and fauna viewing. Source of contribution directly to the local economy were from jobs as tour guides, ticketing, palet parking, selling Balinese food, from stalls / restaurants, lodging/accomodation, souvenirs, camping, and outbound activities. The ability of saving money has made it possible for the parents to pay more money for higher education of their children. Tourism activities have contributed indirectly on increasing income for the regency in general, and also have attracted investors to build hotels. Model development of nature tourism in Peliatan village was as follows: For SO Strategy: develop new attractions, developing cooperation with investors for development of natural tourist attractions, penetrating foreign markets (for nature), in cooperation with travel agents, development tourism events, and development of micro-enterprises. The WO strategies were such as: improving the quality of the environment, nature conservation, training guides, providing more interesting information for visitors, arranging nature travel packages, developing public-private partnerships, and mapping of potential tourist destinations. For ST Strategies including: reforestation, erosion control, analyse behavior of tourists, waste management, protection of the area, which was undertaken in cooperation with tourists, and stakeholders, as well as to ensure the safety. For WT Strategies including: to do counseling, to formulate CoC, strengthening organizations, preventing environmental degradation, certification of tourism workers, community development, as well as research for nature tourism.

In Vitruvius’ treatise, what makes good architecture is its ability to communicate to the public particular messages that reflects the program of the building with spaces and components arranged in an orderly way. According to Vitruvius these messages when acknowledges by the public the building posses strong character. This research discusses this idea by reflecting on the 1895 competition of the Egyptian Museum project. Marcel Dourgnon, the French architect of the winning scheme, showed profound understanding of character resulting in a building that had positive vibe with the local community.  Today Vitruvius’ idea is still living with us. Norman Foster succeeded in upgrading the British Museum in a way that addressed all cultures of the world through his grand atrium design.  Similarly, Emad Farid and Ramez Azmy revived the presence of the Egyptian Museum in public cognition.  Spatial experience that evokes similar perceptions to all its visitors is a timeless piece that transcends cultural boundaries.

Attribute evaluation provides an understanding of the perceived quality and subjective value of the museum visitor experience. The principal contribution of this paper is to analyze the attributes perceived by tourists and the local community (Madrid residents) of the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum (Madrid, Spain), utilizing the results from choice experiment and willingness-to-pay questionnaires. To analyze in depth the assessment regarding the museum attributes and the visitor perceptions of them, the relevance-determination model was applied. Data collection was achieved with a questionnaire using a convenience sample of international tourists and the local community, providing a total of 775 valid surveys. The results of the application of the relevance-determination analysis (RDA) show that there are two types of attributes: higher-impact core and lower-importance attributes. The attributes with the highest subjective value perceived by interviewed tourists and interviewed residents are the location, the building, and the permanent collection. These results show that there are substantial differences between the perception and appreciation of these attributes by interviewed residents and interviewed tourists. The results provide valuable information that can be applied in practice to devise strategies for economic and socio-cultural sustainability aimed at improving decision-making in museum management.

Within the last few years, changes have been carried out in the public administration of Germany which will affect the military government to be established during and after Germany's defeat. Their general trend has been to subordinate state (i.e., Reich, regional, and local) administration to the Party, which has been vested with more and more power. This is of particular interest in the light of the present “total mobilization,” in which the Party plays a dominant part. To some extent, the changes discussed in this note show a definite trend toward decentralization, although there has been no actual delegation of powers to smaller units, since all power remained in the hands of the Party—this being, of course, the reason why the Nazis could afford to “decentralize.” On the local level, the reforms aimed at tying together the loosening bonds between the régime and the people. Only the most recent emergency measures of “total mobilization” are touched on in this note.1. Gauarbeitsaemter. When the Reichsanstalt was created in 1927–28, the Reich was organized in 13 economic regions, each having one regional labor office (Landesarbeitsamt). The idea was to establish large economic districts containing various industries so that a crisis in one industry could be absorbed by the labor market of another within the same district, thus creating “ausgleichsfaehige Bezirke.”

The problem of the decay and conservation of stone-built heritage is a complex one, requiring input across many disciplines to identify appropriate remedial steps and management strategies. Over the past few decades, earth scientists have brought a unique perspective to this challenging area, drawing on traditions and knowledge obtained from research into landscape development and the natural environment. This paper reviews the crucial themes that have arisen particularly, although not exclusively, from the work of physical geographers — themes that have sought to correct common misconceptions held by the public, as well as those directly engaged in construction and conservation, regarding the nature, causes and controls of building stone decay. It also looks to the future, suggesting how the behaviour of building stones (and hence the work of stone decay scientists) might alter in response to the looming challenge of climate change.

In 1990, the Ford Foundation launched the Neighborhood and Family Initiative Project (NFI) in four U.S. cities. A low-income neighborhood in each of the four cities is the target for the initiative, which is administered through a local community foundation in each city. The initiative relies on neighborhood leadership to develop strategic plans which reflect the goals and aspirations of neighborhood residents and institutions. A collaborative, or committee, composed of neighborhood leaders and key representatives from the public and private sectors is charged with overseeing the planning process.
