The purpose of this paper was to analyze the canopy volume of lavender shrubs as a morphologic trait influenced by variety and also to evaluate the development of the root system on a Chromic Luvisol with an argic B horizon. The crop was established in 2017 at Belciugatele Didactic Station/Moara Domnească Farm (44°30′ North, 26°15′ East) using the following lavender varieties: Sevstopolis, Vera, Hidcote, and Buena Vista. During 2017-2019, plants’ height and diameters were measured at harvest, and these observations were used to determine lavender shrubs’ canopy volume, by applying the derived ellipsoid volume formula. Varieties (A) obtained different values in terms of canopy volumes, and these values also varied under the influence of the different doses and combinations of mineral and organic fertilizers (B). The highest canopy volume was registered by Vera, with values ranging from 0.0557 m3 (1st year, Control) and 0.0944 m3 (3rd year, organic fertilization with manure at 30 t/ha). The evaluation of the root system distribution and development was performed after carrying out a soil profile between two plants, along the row, for each researched variety. Measurements were conducted using a frame of 50/50 cm, and data sampling was performed for every 10 cm layer, by counting and measuring the roots. Based on these observations the root section area (RSA) was determined. The values of this indicator ranged between 283.06 mm2 (Buena Vista) and 378.29 mm2 (Vera).

Aim. To substantiate the agroecological estimation of the performance of a short crop rotation in conditions of intense and organic system of fertilization on the basis of restoring normative parameters of emission and se- questration of С-СО 2 circulation while using by-products as organic fertilizers in conditions of modern climatic system of the Forest-Steppe of Ukraine. Methods. Field, statistical, laboratory. Results of Investigations. The performance of short crop rotations is determined by the capacity of С-СО 2 balance. Strong inverse correla- tion was found between the capacity of N and the ratio between C and N in the agrocenosis, which demon- strated that enhancing the humifi cation processes (ratio constriction) led to the increase in the capacity of С org balance and the decrease in the capacity level of С-СО 2 balance (enhancing mineralization), related to the reduction in the performance of crops in the agrocenosis of a crop rotation compared to the organic system of fertilization. The capacity of С-СО 2 and С org balance correlates at the medium level of inverse direction, and the yield of the main products, feed units and digestible protein correlates at the level of strong direct correlation. Conclusions. General mineralization of by-products and humus in the agrocenosis and humifi cation processes are antagonists, so extending the ratio between С and N at the intense fertilization system stimulates the in- crease in performance and reducing С to N similar to the organic fertilization system enhances the humifi cation process due to binding of С org into humus and limits mineralization which leads to the reduction in agrocenosis performance at the organic fertilization system.

The term 'organically grown food' denotes products that have been produced in accordance with the principles and practices of organic agriculture. The use of alternatives to synthetic fertilizers is an important issue in organic systems. A two-year field experiment to evaluate effects of organic fertilizers on the yield and quality of open field grown tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill.) was carried out in Southern Turkey in 2000 and 2001. Combinations of manure, blood flour and micronutrient preparations were used for fertilization, and conventional mineral fertilization was included as the control. Yield did not differ between the fertilization and the Conventional treatments in the first year of the study, but the highest yield was obtained from conventional in the second year. No differences were found between treatments in terms of fruit soluble sugar content or citric acid. The application of organic fertilizers positively affected the micronutritional element content of tomato fruits compared to the conventional treatment. Organic fertilization results in improved yield and fruit quality compared to conventional fertilization. In addition, organic fertilization should be supported in order to facilitate reuse and disposal of organic wastes and to maintain and/or increase soil fertility.

This investigation was conducted in a private farm, Samannoud district, El-Gharbia Governorate, Egypt, during two successive seasons of 2017 and 2018 to study the effect of organic fertilizers and foliar spray of amino acid on vegetative growth, fruit yield, chemical composition and capsaicin content of hot pepper (Capsicum annum L var. Minimum) plant. The experiment included 13 treatments obtained from cattle manure at rates of 60 and 30 N-units per fed. combined with amino acid at 0, 100 and 200 ppm as well as chicken fertilizer at rates of 60 and 30 N-units per fed combined with amino acid at 0, 100 and 200 ppm, besides the treatment of NPK at recommended dose as a control. A complete randomized block design with three replicates was adopted. The obtained results showed that, the highest values from vegetative growth parameters,  fruit yield, chemicals composition and capsaicin content were obtained from plants treated with cattle manure full dose + 200 ppm amino acids , followed by plants treated with chicken manure full dose + 200 ppm amino acids compared with all treatments except plant height, the highest value was obtained from plants treated with NPK (control) in the two seasons. Amino acid had a great effect when added with organic fertilization, whether cattle manure or chicken fertilizer at a concentration of 100 or 200 ppm. Based on the previous results, it could be recommend that spraying amino acids (glycine and glutamine) at the rate of 200 ppm along with organic fertilizers at the rate of 60 nitrogen units per feddan get the highest fruits yield, Vitamin C and capsaicin of hot pepper.

In order to meet the growing market of gerbera, it is necessary to develop studies that maximize its production, especially using organic fertilizer. In order to assess the nutrition and growth of potted gerbera conducted with mineral and organic fertilization, an experiment in a greenhouse was done, located at Western Paraná State University, Brazil. The experimental design was made in randomized blocks, with four replications and five treatments. The treatments were defined according to the source of fertilization, mineral (NPK) or organic. The organic fertilization were obtained by diluting in water four organic compost of poultry slaughter waste, obtained from in the composting process, in order to adjust electrical conductivity. The solution of the compost was used as organic fertigation, making the organic treatments. The liquid organic fertilizer, as well as irrigation of mineral treatment, was performed manually once a day. At the end of vegetative and reproductive periods, the levels of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and Fe were quantified in the plant tissue. At the same time, biometric parameters were assessed (number of leaves, plant diameter, leaf area, dry matter of aerial parts, number of heads, inflorescence dry matter, stem height, head diameter and diameter stem). The liquid organic fertilizers, obtained by composting procession of poultry slaughter waste, can be used as alternative source for potted gerbera nutrition, since they provide better or higher culture growth than the mineral fertilizer.

Purpose of the research is to study the agroecological efficiency of silicon-potassium foliar feeding of vegetables amid the mineral and organic fertilization systems on the example of tomato and sweet pepper. Methods. Field, chemical analysis, statistical. Results. The content of chemical elements (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn) in the soil in each of the experimental variants did not exceed the maximum permissible concentration. The crop yield for 2016-2018 showed a significant increase in tomato and sweet pepper yields amid the organic fertilizers and double silicon-potassium foliar feeding. In 2016, the maximum yield increase in this variant is 13.2 t/ha for tomatoes and 5.2 t/ha for sweet pepper; in 2017 11,1 t/ha for tomatoes and 7,8 t/ha for sweet pepper; in 2018 13,8 t/ha for tomatoes and 7,8 t/ha for sweet pepper. An analysis of the quality of tomato and sweet pepper yields in 2016-2018 showed that in any of the samples, the content of heavy metals does not exceed the maximum permissible concentration. The estimation of economic efficiency of yield for the period of 2016-2018 showed that each of the agro-applications (double silicon-potassium foliar feeding; mineral fertilizers N60P40K60; N60P40K60 application supplemented by double silicon-potassium foliar feeding; introduction of semi-perforated manure of 30 t/ha; introduction of semi-perforated manure of 30 t/ha supplemented by double silicon-potassium foliar feeding) has a positive economic efficiency indicator compared to the control plot. The highest level of economic efficiency for tomatoes and sweet pepper on the average for three years of the experiment was obtained on the experimental site with the introduction of semi-perforated manure of 30 t/ha supplemented by double silicon-potassium foliar feeding. Conclusions. It was established that double foliar feeding amid the mineral and organic fertilization systems is an effective method to increase the efficiency of land use in the management of personal peasant farming. The result of this method application is quality and safe products.

ABSTRACT The use of organic fertilizers facilitates the production of plant species compared to industrial fertilizers, with a remarkable contribution to soil and water conservation through soil structuring. Vetiver grass (Chrysopogon zizanioides (L.) Roberty) is widely used in soil bioengineering projects to stabilize slopes, increasing the resistance of the soil to shear strength. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the development of vetiver grass at different doses of organic fertilizer on soil stabilization. An experimental test was carried out in a greenhouse, in pots, using the following doses of organic fertilizer: T0-0 g (control); T1-135 g; T2-270 g and T3-405 g of organic fertilizer. Shoot Dry Matter (SDM), Root Dry Matter (RDM), Root Length (RL), Number of Tillers per Plant (NT) and Plant Height (PH) were evaluated. The collected data were submitted to regression analysis at 5% probability. The analysed variables showed increasing values as greater amounts of organic fertilizer, leading to an increase in soil nutrient availability and, consequently, to improved plant development.

Soil respiration is the production of carbon dioxide from soil as a result of soil organism metabolic processes. One of the most important sources of CO 2 emission is from agricultural fields. Agricultural practices can influence soil organic carbon inputs and outputs being determinant for CO 2 emission. We studied the effects of mineral and organic fertilization on CO 2 emission in a potato field. During the growing season (April - October) the soil respiration was measured with a closed dynamic chamber in a field experiment where 100 kg of nitrogen was applied as mineral and organic fertilizers. The average CO 2 fluxes did not registered significant differences between treatments, mean estimated values were of 4.8 g/m 2/h in control treatment, 4.63 g/m2/h in organically fertilized soil and 4.2 g/m 2/h in mineral fertilized soil. The highest soil CO2 emission was measured during summer, while similar values of soil respiration were observed in spring and autumn.
