As Millennial generation, students nowadays have limitless concept of time and space, they broke logical and physical barriers during the process of communication including in the process of learning. Blanded learning and hybrid learning are one of the latest phenomenon in Education. In shortest perception students will encoder positive effect toward the uses of technology in school but in fact some of them also encounter obstacle and problems. This research aims to project the students� pros and cons on the use of one of ICT called PADLET during the process of speaking activity. This research uses 35 students of one private university in Cimahi, Indonesia. Qualitative method used to provide detail finding associate with supportive theories.� Observation that was taken from both online processes during submitting and commenting the speaking video and offline situation were used and then strengthen by the use of open questions interview. From the data, it showed that students pros on the idea of; (1) collaboration, (2) Flexibility. (3) Autonomous Learning.� While on cons students mark on; (1) technicality issue, (2) Psychological elements.������Keywords: ICT; PADLET; Pro; Cons; Speaking.

This study investigates both the benefits of and recent trends in studying abroad for Japanese students and examines the results of a survey on study abroad taken by students majoring in English at a private university in Tokyo. Statistics from JASSO showed that the trend in study abroad before 2020 was for an increasing number of Japanese university students to spend a period of time studying abroad, though most of the increase was in short-term study. The English language questionnaire sought to discover what proportion of a group of seventy-two students had already studied abroad, or planned to do so, and to establish whether those who had gained experience had benefited from it, as well as detailing student anxieties which may have deterred students from studying abroad. The survey on study abroad, taken in January 2018, had a 100% response rate. Twenty-three (32%) of the students answered that they had already studied abroad, mostly for short durations in English-speaking countries. Most of the students who studied abroad had a positive experience, reputedly improved their English skills and recommended that other students study abroad. Twenty-six (53%) of the students without study abroad experience were planning to study abroad, even though they had some issues which concerned them, such as their ability to communicate in English, personal safety, and financial matters. The main reason for not electing to study abroad for this particular sample was found to be related to the overall costs of overseas travel, accommodation, and tuition. この研究では日本人学生に対する留学の利点および最近の留学の傾向を調べ、さら に東京の私立大学で英語を専攻している学生に対して実施した留学についての調査 の結果を検討している。JASSO の統計によると、2020年までは留学する日本人 大学生の数は増加傾向であったが、そのほとんどは短期留学であった。英語で行わ れたアンケート調査の目的は、著者の三つのクラスの72名の学生のうちの何割が 留学経験がある、もしくは留学の予定があるか、またすでに留学した学生はその経 験から恩恵を受けたと感じているか、学生は留学をするにあたってどのような不安 を持つか、さらに留学しないと答えた学生の場合は留学しない理由を明らかにする ことである。2018年1月に行われた調査の回答率は100パーセントであっ た。23人(32パーセント)の学生は留学経験があり、ほとんどの場合が英語圏 の国への短期留学である。留学経験のある学生の大半数が有益な経験ができ、英語 力が上達したと感じており、他の学生に留学を勧めると答えている。留学経験のな い学生の26人(53パーセント)が留学する予定だが、英語のコミュニケーショ ン、安全、金銭などについて不安を感じていた。留学しない理由については、旅 費、宿泊代、授業料など経済的な理由が大半であった。

The advisability of bringing children up bilingually is always questionable by the parents in general, but it is of vital importance for the parents of those children who are born within cross-national relationships. The current paper highlights the benefits and negative aspects of so doing from various points of view available in the related literature. It deals chiefly with assessing the parents’ situations and suggesting appropriate approaches to them for decision making when they want to raise their children bilingually. Although qualitative method of research including the descriptive and argumentative methods are used for the majority parts of the study, the instances of the writer’s bilingual experience are also mentioned as an outstanding proof in a case study. Whilst most of the common strategies for bringing children up bilingually are given in the current study, there are, of course, some other strategies for various circumstances. Other studies are recommended to focus mainly on strategies and reveal them for those parents who are eager to raise bilingual children.

This study aims to determine the implementation of the product of the Bidik Misi scholarship program. This research uses case study qualitative method. The research was conducted at Djuanda University which is a private university in LLDIKTI region IV. Collecting data using interview instruments, questionnaires, observations, and documentation with data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The research findings show that the final results of the Bidik Misi scholarship are in accordance with the program objectives, namely increasing student motivation and achievement, increasing student achievement in the curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular fields, causing an impact for students and prospective students to always improve achievement and be competitive, and produce graduates who are independent, productive and have social concerns to break the chain of poverty and empower the community. Meanwhile, aspects of increasing access and learning opportunities in higher education, as well as ensuring the continuity of student studies to completion and on time, still need improvement. In conclusion, the Bidikmisi scholarship program has produced graduates who are independent, productive and have social awareness, so that they are able to play a role in efforts to break the poverty chain and empower people in Indonesia. This paper reports on a case study of a group of six non-native English speaking migrant women’s  experiences learning English vocabulary in a mobile assisted language learning (MALL) environment at a small community centre in Western Australia. A sociocultural approach to learning vocabulary was adopted in designing the MALL lessons that the women undertook. The women provided demographic information, responded to questions in a pre-MALL semi-structured interview, attended the MALL lessons, and completed a post-MALL semi-structured interview. This study explores the sociocultural factors that affect migrant women’s language learning in general, and vocabulary in particular. The women’s responses to MALL lessons and using the tablet reveal a positive effect in their vocabulary learning. <p>This research aimed to discover the relationships between students' self-confidence and their English-speaking performance. In our research, self-confidence was divided into three components which are affective confidence, behavioral confidence, and cognitive confidence. In addition, speaking performance included eight components which are vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, fluency, coherence, comprehension, task, and content. A sample of 150 English-majored students at a university in Vietnam was surveyed in this study by using a convenience sampling technique, and then conducting semi-structured interviews to seek for qualitative information from 10 participants out of 150. The result from our study showed that there are significant relationships between the two variables. The more confident the students are, the more accomplished they would be in the presenting procedure since they have superior cognition and understand how to modify their learning methods to build a comprehensive individual in learning English language. We expect that these findings can help students adjust their learning methods to improve their self-confidence as well as English speaking performance and by that way, universities can add more speaking-related subjects so that students can have more opportunities to speak and learn more speaking skills.</p><p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0870/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>

In the New era, Bali was hegemonized by the politics of the State's law against traditional villages. There is a response from Bali Provincial Government to create a policy to protect traditional villages in Bali. The power of Bali in the traditional village is maintaining Balinese culture based on Hinduism and the philosophy of Tri Hita Karana. Relevant critical theories in this article's discussion are public policy theory which is micro, hegemonic theory, power relation theory and deconstruction theory. Qualitative method with case study design in traditional village of Kuta is used as the research of cultural studies. The result of the research explains that public policy in Bali in defending traditional village is that Bali Provincial Government responds to state law politics by establishing Bali Provincial Regulation. However, when the Provincial Regulation of Bali No. 3 of 2001 on traditional village, the traditional village of Kuta responded to Article 3 paragraph (6) was not accepted by the prajuru and also received a response from the traditional village council, so the pros and cons of the traditional village in Bali emerged.

Students have their own expectations in the teaching and learning process in the classroom. Students’ expectations are also one of the important things that the lecturer should know and do to get a good outcome. The purpose of this study is to identify students’ expectations in the teaching and learning process in English class. This study uses a qualitative method. To collect the data, the researchers used observation and semi-interview methods. Observation was carried out to investigate the students’ and lecturer’s activities in the classroom, while interview was used to examine the students’ expectation related to the use of English in the future, the content of English subject, and their learning style. Seventh students in the first semester of the undergraduate Management Department became the participants of this study. The result of the study shows that all students expect that they would learn all skills of English as well as grammar and pronunciation. They also believe that they would get good jobs if they could master English well.

AbstractIntroduction: This research study deals with the necessity of educating the members of the Police of the Czech Republic in the area of a social-pathological phenomenon, specifically domestic violence. In most cases, police officers are on the scene of an incident as the first ones. It is a socio-pathological phenomenon, which requires a very sensitive but at the same time a professional approach from the police officers.Purpose: The main objective of the research was to find out what the views of the coordinators at selected Regional Directorates of the Police of the Czech Republic dealing with the cases of domestic violence are.Methods: For the purposes of the research, the qualitative method of structured interviews with open questions was used. The respondents were the coordinators from five regions of the Czech Republic.Conclusions: It can be concluded that great attention has been paid to the issues of domestic violence in the Czech Republic since 1996, which has brought positive results in dealing with real cases by the members of the Police of the Czech Republic. However, each case with the features of domestic violence is different and for this reason it is not possible to describe the whole range of possibilities in the preparation. These problems are only a part of many different incidents the police have to deal with. This fact is taken into account in the proposal for the continuous education of police officers at the departments of the Police of the Czech Republic.

Rice is a staple food and daily routine for Malaysians. Currently, the increasing population in Malaysia has led to the need to increase rice production with more quality. Therefore,the government established a scheme with national organic standards, MS 1259: 2015 which is myOrganic certification to recognize organic farms. Koperasi ABSB is the first rice farm that obtained this certification. Thus, the aims of this study are to explore the implementation of myOrganic in Koperasi ABSB and the barriers faced by this cooperative to implementing myOrganic certification. Qualitative method is used in this case study through interviews and observation. The finding showed that the implementation of myOrganic is as follows, by register myGAP, register myOrganic, Department of Agricultural Malaysia (DOA) will send a supervisor, prepare nine files or records, perform internal and external audit, and renew myOrganic. This study is expected to increase awareness of organic farming practices and promote the implementation of myOrganic in agriculture industry especially for the new farmer who wants to register and obtain myOrganic certification.
