This study aims to determine the implementation of the product of the Bidik Misi scholarship program. This research uses case study qualitative method. The research was conducted at Djuanda University which is a private university in LLDIKTI region IV. Collecting data using interview instruments, questionnaires, observations, and documentation with data analysis techniques through data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The research findings show that the final results of the Bidik Misi scholarship are in accordance with the program objectives, namely increasing student motivation and achievement, increasing student achievement in the curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular fields, causing an impact for students and prospective students to always improve achievement and be competitive, and produce graduates who are independent, productive and have social concerns to break the chain of poverty and empower the community. Meanwhile, aspects of increasing access and learning opportunities in higher education, as well as ensuring the continuity of student studies to completion and on time, still need improvement. In conclusion, the Bidikmisi scholarship program has produced graduates who are independent, productive and have social awareness, so that they are able to play a role in efforts to break the poverty chain and empower people in Indonesia. The purpose of this study was to determine the management of the development of lecturer resources in the tri dharma of higher education in STKIP Bina Bangsa Getsempena (STKIP BBG) Banda Aceh. This research is focused on the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected by interview, observation and documentation study, then analyzed qualitatively. As for data analysis techniques, descriptive-inductive and reflective models are specifically used in this study. The results of these research programs in the implementation of the tri dharma of higher education are carried out on an ongoing basis so that lecturer resources are maintained. All of them in the management of lecturer resource development rests on the vision of the institution to make universities superior.

In the era of digital learning, multimedia-based classroom has been commonly used in higher education including Malaysian higher education institutions. A case study has been performed to evaluate web-based learning using Level 1 to 3 of Kirkpatrick's model in a multi-disciplinary course at Multimedia University, Malaysia. In this study, mixed method research was employed in which triangulation was performed from multiple sources of data collection to give deeper understanding. Students perceived that learning with multimedia was enjoyable. They were also motivated in learning and engaged through the use of web module as multimedia was perceived to motivate them and make learning fun. Students showed significant improvements in their knowledge based on the pre-test and post-test results on learning evaluation. Students were perceived to transfer the learning from web-based learning into the learning outcome. The systematic evaluation can provide the feedback that educators and institution as a whole need to improve the learning environment and programme quality. This study contributes to the research field by adding another perspective in evaluations of web-based learning. It also provides empirical evidence on student perspectives, learning and behaviour in a private university. It demonstrated that the Kirkpatrick's model is useful as an evaluation tool to be used in higher education.

Implementing the zoning system in the 2019/2020 school year imposed by the Makassar city government through the Education Office caused various problems. This study's specific purpose is (1) To examine the characteristics of the New Student Acceptance problem of the zoning system, (2) explore the supporting capacity of the regulations, 3. non-regulatory environmental factors that affect the implementation of the PPDB zoning system. 4. Implementation trap of policy. The Research Method used is a qualitative method, and the appropriate type of research is a case study.  The results showed that the New Student Acceptance problem zoning system characteristics, among others: Infrastructure readiness problems for online registration, Lack of socialization of PPDB system to prospective students and parents, thus confusing. The implementation trap of policy, the policy objective is too vague or broad to be converted into action, the target specification is not clearly defined due to weak guidelines on how goals can be achieved, or undefined standards or actions to be taken, either in implementing, or the target community. Finally, problems also arise when the chain of responsibility for implementing a policy is unclear.Penerapan sistem zonasi pada tahun ajaran 2019/2020 yang diberlakukan pemerintah kota Makassar melalui Dinas Pendidikan menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini adalah (1) Untuk meneliti karakteristik masalah Penerimaan Siswa Baru dari system zonasi, (2) mengeksplorasi daya dukung peraturan, 3. Factor lingkungan non-regulasi yang mempengaruhi penerapan system zonasi PPDB. 4. Perangkap implementasi kebijakan. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif, dan jenis penelitian yang sesuai adalah studi kasus.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik system zonasi masalah Penerimaan Siswa Baru antara lain: Masalah kesiapan infrastruktur untuk pendaftaran online, Kurangnya sosialisasi sistem PPDB kepada calon siswa dan orang tua, sehingga membingungkan. Jebakan implementasi kebijakan  , tujuan kebijakan terlalu kabur atau luas untuk dikonversi menjadi tindakan, spesifikasi target tidak didefinisikan dengan jelas karena pedoman yang lemah tentang bagaimana tujuan dapat dicapai, atau standar atau tindakan yang tidak terdefinisi untuk diambil, baik dalam menerapkan, atau komunitas target. Akhirnya, masalah juga muncul ketika rantai tanggung jawab untuk menerapkan kebijakan tidak jelas.

This article documents the application of transmedia play in a higher education business context, providing a case study of how transmedia play can be infused into an undergraduate marketing course. We share our findings regarding learner experience and engagement, detailing results from structured interviews with 22 course participants. Evidence shows that the transmedia approach has value and can be successfully enacted in an undergraduate course to create connected learning opportunities and elicit cognitive, affective, and behavioral engagement. However, we note that the participatory nature of the pedagogy did create challenges for digital novices. In order to transition digital novices from peripheral to full participants in a transmedia learning community context, further research is warranted.

Assessment of the business higher education quality is a multifaceted and multidimensional concept. Quality as a factor of performance of universities is currently an often-discussed topic. The aim of this article is to identify and evaluate factors of quality of business economics education by university students at a private Czech university. The results are based on a quantitative survey by questionnaire data collection from university students. The factor analysis was conducted to find significant groups of students regarding their perception of the educational process divided into three main areas. The quality perception was analyzed in this paper specifically by using focus on areas of subjects, lessons, and teachers. The analysis found groups of variables with significant appearance within the groups of students to reveal their main orientation and preferences. It is quality orientation (specified learning outcomes and its applicability), business orientation (tailoring to business needs) and expert orientation (skills and knowledge of teacher, his/her orientation on study group and tailoring lessons to their needs). Furthermore, identification of homogenous groups of students and their expectations helps with a design of subjects and lessons in the way of focusing on practice, addressing the needs and preferred teaching techniques. This is especially true when the students are already experienced in the taught subject. A limitation of the study is a narrow focus on one private university. It may be taken as a case study.

Successive governments have encouraged the view of users of public services as consumers, choosing between different providers on the basis of information about the quality of service. As part of this approach, prospective students are expected to make their decisions about which universities to apply to with reference to the consumer evaluations provided by the National Student Survey. However, a case study of a post-1992 university showed that not all students made genuine choices and those who did tended to be in stronger social and economic positions. Where choices were made, they were infrequently based on external evaluations of quality.

Leaders in higher education regularly find themselves at the intersection of change, torn between their institution’s history and culture, the intrinsic value of education, market needs, and the desires of alumni, current, and prospective students. Higher education is often labeled reluctant to change, and many believe any change initiative not aligned with the institution’s culture is almost certain to fail. This study provides evidence that leaders in higher education can implement change that is incongruent with organizational culture while maintaining harmony among the institution’s ideals and constituents. University X, a medium-sized, highly regarded public institution located in a rural area, implemented its first fully online degree program, which was widely perceived as being incongruent with the organization’s culture. A detailed analysis of eight environmental factors and an adaptation of Kotter’s (1996) eight-step change model contributed to the overall success of this change. The keys to implementation were developing an in-depth understanding of the culture while ensuring there was both a need for change and adequate support among stakeholders. Developing a group to champion and sustain the initiative was also critical. The common thread throughout the entire change process was the frequent and effective communication maintained by the organizational leaders. The culture shift initiated by the change also allowed the institution to move quickly to transition to alternative teaching methods during the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020.

<p>This study sheds lights on whether the use of Initiation, Response and Feedback (IRF) in teaching facilitates learner-initiated communication and gives learning opportunity for learners to engage in classroom interaction. This study applies the IRF framework proposed by Sinclair and Coulthard (1975), Initiation from (Mackey (2012) and teacher talk by CUllen (1988). The method applied for this study is qualitative method by classroom observation as the technique for data collection. The video records the classroom observation. The data are taken from classroom interaction of conversation class. The result of this study is the IRF pattern which mostly occurs in classroom interaction can be used to analyze classroom interaction. Additionally, the teaching using IRF pattern can facilitate learner-initiated communication and give learning opportunities for leaners to engage more in classroom interaction.</p><p>Key words: IRF Pattern, learner-initiated communication, classroom interaction</p><p> </p>
