The statistical data of the Kepahiang Regency in 2018 shows that more than 90% of Kabawetan people worked in the agricultural sector as vegetable and coffee farmers. Due to the hilly morphology of the settlements, the settlement configurations should conform with the land contours. As the majority of the coffee farmers have limited land for drying the harvested coffee, portable architectural technology can then help overcome the problems with the limited house yard. This tool is used as a space for drying their coffee, especially during the rainy season. The method to transfer the portable coffee dryer design to the communities is by training them how to use the technology and introducing it with the help of props (prototypes). This introductory training was conducted for the Permata Sari farmer group in the farmer's house yard in Bukit Sari Village, Kabawetan District. The training activities included coordinating with the involved farmers, making coffee dryer designs, testing simple tools, and introducing the mobile coffee dryer technology to Permata Sari farmer group members in Bukit Sari Village, Kabawetan District Kepahiang Regency. Portable coffee dryers are urgently needed considering the contoured lands, limited space, and the frequency of rainy days in Kabawetan exceeds that of sunny days. However, this tool still requires further development, where it can be used as a sorting tool, particularly for sorting out the red pickled coffee that is dried using this tool.

More than half of the total number of households in Ukraine are engaged in agricultural activities both for food self-sufficiency and for the production of marketable agricultural products, acting as subsistence or semi-subsistence farms. The determination of the right strategy for the further development of this form of farming is the key to the effective development of the agricultural sector, rural areas and the national economy as a whole. Instigated by Europe's CAP policy and its implementation, the study seeks to and delivers the factors influencing the commercialization of the semi-subsistence farms in Ukraine, based on the wealth of statistical data. The findings also show the lack of a strategy to support the establishment of a model of individual farming, which must counteract the risks of industrialized agro-production.

The paper presents the issues related to the green economy in the agricultural sector. In order to discuss it, an analysis of the subject literature was carried out and some selected statistical data describing the process of greening of agriculture were presented. The timeframe of the analysis covered the years 2010-2015. The GUS and Eurostat were the source of the used values. Studies have shown that almost all EU countries have increased the area of organic agricultural land in the surveyed period (except for Great Britain). In addition, the article presents the results of pilot studies conducted in the Lodz Region, aimed at diagnosing key barriers to the development of the green economy in rural areas. According to the research, the insufficient level of knowledge of farmers in this area is an important obstacle to building a green economy in rural areas.

Introduction. Udmurtia, its development within the framework of the first and the second five-year plans (1928–1932, 1933–1937). The focus is on the three enterprises of Valamaz, Sergievsk and Suginsk, as well as the construction of a new Golushurma factory. Materials and Methods. Analysis of archival materials reveals the state of the glass industry. Results. This industry (one of the oldest in the region) by the 1920’s occupied the leading positions in terms of industrial production. By the beginning of the First Five-Year Plan, the enterprises were in a deplorable state: the equipment and buildings were without repair and proper modernization, transport communication did not ensure stable sales of products. The circumstances were important for the further development of glass production: first, the availability of resources, primarily sand; secondly, the planned construction of the railway line. Five-year plans were to ensure the modernization of existing enterprises, but also to realize the task of building a new large factory, which had the largest volumes of production. Discussion and Conclusions. Despite the importance of glass production, in the 1930’s it ceases to be given due attention. Development plans wasn’t taken into account, the leadership of the region wasn’t invited to meetings on the discussion of core issues. At the same time, statistical data showed a reduction in production volumes, growth of manufacturing defect. Keywords: glass industry, factories, five-year plans, resources, transport, modernization, construction, Nizhny Novgorod Regional Executive Committee.

An analysis of the semiotic and productive transformation of food crops under Argentina’s agribusiness model through a study of the diffusion of the term “commodity” in the discourse produced/reproduced by the rural sections of the hegemonic media, combined with statistical data that allow a dialogue between discourse and measurable quantities, concludes that defining the Argentine countryside as a place for commodity production is linked with increasing crop production for export that leads to the erosion of food sovereignty and food security.
