Numerous schools worldwide have closed during Covid-19 pandemic but students has several distraction when they study from home. Schools and universities have to continue with preparing learning method in any occasion like online lecture. Some study results show an increase in linkages using digital applications, one of which is Kahoot. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the acceptance and relationship of students with lectures through Kahoot in online lecture. In this study, 67 students of pre-service Madrasah/ Primary teachers at a Siliwangi Islamic College were chosen as a participant. The age of the students ranged from 19 to 30 years and they were students who were taught by the researcher. The research conducted of two phases. In the first phases, consist of an introduction, lectures, and Kahoot! Quiz each chapter. In the second phase students answering the questionnaire-based online using google form. Question points in the questionnaire included usability, ease of use, attitude, engagement skills, and interaction. The findings show that a whole respondents agree that Kahoot can improve their learning performance. In spite of encourage in taking a good notes and listening carefully in classroom, Kahoot is contribute students to having fun in the online lecture.

Objective: To develop and evaluate effectiveness of a smartphone application to assist the self-management of intermittent urinary catheter users Methods: This is experimental clinical research as part of a medical device trial. In phase 1, 10 intermittent urinary catheter users were recruited from spinal cord injury (SCI) patients who had been admitted to a rehabilitation ward at Siriraj Hospital. They used the preliminary version of “Punsook”, a web-based application (app) for a smartphone, alongside usual intermittent urinary catheterization (IC), and gave feedback on their experiences. Their qualitative opinions were used to further develop a second version of the “Punsook” app. In phase 2, the new version was used by 35 participants, who were asked to complete an effectiveness questionaire after using the app, including providing details on their history of urinary tract infection (UTI), urinary leakage, and catheterization-related pain. This information was gathered at the end of first and third months in the second phase of the study. Results: More than half the participants agreed at the end of the first month that every part of the app was acceptably pleasant. They liked the simplicity and ease of use of the app, accessibility, ease of return to use, and interest in the program. No statistically significant changes in urinary leakage, UTI, or pain were found. Conclusion: The app was considered effective in terms of the positive user satisfaction with all aspects of the app. However, despite this positive reception, the app may not have contributed to an improvement in participant bladder control.

Previous studies on the subjective experience of music did not give unambiguous results related to the number and content of dimensions underlying the experience that one has in contact with various musical pieces. Furthermore, previous studies have provided no evidence relating to the structure of subjective experience of classical music pieces. The aim of this study was to determine the number of structurally distinct dimensions of the musical experience of classical music pieces and the relations among obtained dimensions. The research was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, 28 participants were asked to produce descriptions of their subjective experience of 44 short segments of music pieces. In the second phase, 44 participants rated the same set of musical pieces using a scale comprised of the most frequent descriptors obtained in the first phase of the study. Results have shown that musical experience descriptors are grouped into five interrelated dimensions of musical experience: the Aesthetic Experience, Affective Tone, Tension, Content?Fullness, and Structure. The paper discusses the nature of these dimensions, their relationship and compares them to those obtained in previous studies both related to the experience of music as well as art in other modalities.

In the present research of a qualitative type, we present the results of an experimentation led with 94 pre-service primary teachers from Quebec in Canada. The experimentation, which lasts four months at the rate of three hours per week, took place in two phases. The first phase took place in 4 steps in order to help student teachers to acquire knowledge competency in science and pedagogical knowledge competency, in accordance with the curriculum of the ministry of the education of the government of Quebec. In the second phase, the students had to prepare two teaching sequences centered on laboratory experimentations to the intention of their future pupils of the first, second or third cycle (please note that each cycle lasts for two years). For it, they had to follow an approach similar to the one experienced in the first phase. Finally, they had to complete a questionnaire to specify the difficulties of a scientific or pedagogical nature that they encountered during the conceptions of their teaching sequences. The analysis of the sequences constructed and of the data of the questionnaire shows an effort important on their behalf, in spite of the difficulties they met and that will be presented. In this work, we describe an educational approach based on augmented reality (AR) and mobile technology that has been developed with the aim to engage students in a learning procedure regarding the electric forces as well as Coulomb’s Law. Initially, we present the AR learning environment and we explain its design principles with respect to the educational goals we aim to accomplish. The idea behind the present approach has been to present students with a novel learning environment that aligns well with their familiarization with mobile technology and the pleasure they take in making use of this technology, in order to stimulate their intrinsic motivation and learning performance. In addition, we demonstrate the early results of a classroom study performed in order to estimate students’ reaction to the AR approach and get an indication of their motivation levels and ease of use, with respect to the AR tool. Based on the study results, we conclude that students have demonstrated positive attitudes toward the AR learning approach and we claim that mobile AR may be incorporated for educational purposes in physics curricula.

Diseases in leaves can cause the significant reduction in both quality and quantity of agricultural production. If early and accurate detection of disease/diseases in leaves can be automated, then the proper remedy can be taken timely. A simple and computationally efficient approach is presented in this paper for disease/diseases detection on leaves. Only detecting the disease is not beneficial without knowing the stage of disease thus the paper also determine the stage of disease/diseases by quantizing the affected of the leaves by using digital image processing and machine learning. Though there exists a variety of diseases on leaves, but the bacterial and fungal spots (Early Scorch, Late Scorch, and Leaf Spot) are the most prominent diseases found on leaves. Keeping this in mind the paper deals with the detection of Bacterial Blight and Fungal Spot both at an early stage (Early Scorch) and late stage (Late Scorch) on the variety of leaves. The proposed approach is divided into two phases, in the first phase, it identifies one or more disease/diseases existing on leaves. In the second phase, amount of area affected by the disease/diseases is calculated. The experimental results obtained showed 97% accuracy using the proposed approach.

ResumoTendo por campo de investigação o Festival da América do Sul Pantanal (FASP) em 2018, na cidade de Corumbá (Brasil), objetiva-se identificar a materialidade e conceitos que permeiam as manifestações artísticas bidimensionais nesta região de fronteira, a partir da percepção de artistas da Bolívia. A pesquisa se organizou em duas fases: na primeira foi realizado um levantamento em plataformas online de produções acadêmicas em artes visuais, com foco no trabalho bidimensional, utilizando os descritores “arte popular” e “estética latina” resultando em três artigos. Na segunda fase foram selecionados dois trabalhos de uma artista da Bolívia, participante da mostra “Conexão Santa Cruz”, realizada durante o FASP 2018, que foram analisados em seus níveis representacional e simbólico. Teaching staffs in general and primary teachers in particular have been proven to contribute to great success of the comprehensive renovation process in the current Vietnamese education system. Significantly, pedagogical universities specialized in primary education should predominantly pay attention to the quality of training and meet the requirements of society. In the case of Tay Nguyen University in Vietnam, lecturer staffs involved in training of primary teachers have made great efforts in applying new teaching methods. Furthermore, it has been used effectively in many parts of the primary teacher training program is the project-based learning method. In this paper, in addition to general theories about the project-learning method, we will present the advantages of applying the teaching method in the primary teacher training program in general and in the "Crafts and Techniques" module in particular at Tay Nguyen University. Finally, discussion process of applying project-based learning and project evaluation methods of primary education students in teaching this module are preferred.

Decoding human brain activities, especially reconstructing human visual stimuli via functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), has gained increasing attention in recent years. However, the high dimensionality and small quantity of fMRI data impose restrictions on satisfactory reconstruction, especially for the reconstruction method with deep learning requiring huge amounts of labelled samples. When compared with the deep learning method, humans can recognize a new image because our human visual system is naturally capable of extracting features from any object and comparing them. Inspired by this visual mechanism, we introduced the mechanism of comparison into deep learning method to realize better visual reconstruction by making full use of each sample and the relationship of the sample pair by learning to compare. In this way, we proposed a Siamese reconstruction network (SRN) method. By using the SRN, we improved upon the satisfying results on two fMRI recording datasets, providing 72.5% accuracy on the digit dataset and 44.6% accuracy on the character dataset. Essentially, this manner can increase the training data about from n samples to 2n sample pairs, which takes full advantage of the limited quantity of training samples. The SRN learns to converge sample pairs of the same class or disperse sample pairs of different class in feature space.

AbstractVirtual and augmented reality allows the utilization of natural user interfaces, such as realistic finger interaction, even for purposes that were previously dominated by the WIMP paradigm. This new form of interaction is particularly suitable for applications involving manipulation tasks in 3D space, such as CAD assembly modeling. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the suitability of natural interaction for CAD assembly modeling in virtual reality. An advantage of the natural interaction compared to the conventional operation by computer mouse would indicate development potential for user interfaces of current CAD applications. Our approach bases on two main elements. Firstly, a novel natural user interface for realistic finger interaction enables the user to interact with virtual objects similar to physical ones. Secondly, an algorithm automatically detects constraints between CAD components based solely on their geometry and spatial location. In order to prove the usability of the natural CAD assembly modeling approach in comparison with the assembly procedure in current WIMP operated CAD software, we present a comparative user study. Results show that the VR method including natural finger interaction significantly outperforms the desktop-based CAD application in terms of efficiency and ease of use.

Abstract Purpose To facilitate the measurement of quality of life in sarcopenia, we set out to reduce the number of items in the previously validated Sarcopenia Quality of Life (SarQoL®) questionnaire, and to evaluate the clinimetric properties of this new short form. Methods The item reduction process was carried out in two phases. First, information was gathered through item-impact scores from older people (n = 1950), a Delphi method with sarcopenia experts, and previously published clinimetric data. In the second phase, this information was presented to an expert panel that decided which of the items to include in the short form. The newly created SFSarQoL was then administered to older, community-dwelling participants who previously participated in the SarcoPhAge study. We examined discriminative power, internal consistency, construct validity, test–retest reliability, structural validity and examined item parameters with a graded response model (IRT). Results The questionnaire was reduced from 55 to 14 items, a 75% reduction. A total of 214 older, community-dwelling people were recruited for the validation study. The clinimetric evaluation showed that the SF-SarQoL® can discriminate on sarcopenia status [EWGSOP2 criteria; 34.52 (18.59–43.45) vs. 42.86 (26.56–63.69); p = 0.043], is internally consistent (α = 0.915, ω = 0.917) and reliable [ICC = 0.912 (0.847–0.942)]. A unidimensional model was fitted (CFI = 0.978; TLI = 0.975; RMSEA = 0.108, 90% CI 0.094–0.123; SRMR = 0.055) with no misfitting items and good response category separation. Conclusions A new, 14-item, short form version of the Sarcopenia Quality of Life questionnaire has been developed and shows good clinimetric properties.
