Digitization of printed publications by libraries is a source of bibliographic information; it provides users with wide accessibility to electronic bibliographic resources. The notion of “digital copies” is considered. The emphasis is focused on digitization of reference and bibliographic publications from the holdings of the Russian State Library (RSL). The main access points for digital copies of bibliographic publications — of local and remote access — are identified. There are determined the basic positions, confirming the importance of the translation of bibliographic indexes into a digital format. The approaches (methods) used by libraries in the selection of publications for digitization are revealed. The principles and criteria of selection of publications for digitization are studied.Based on the studied material, the conclusion is made on the need to develop special criteria for selection applicable specifically to bibliographic publications. Recommendations and proposals for the development of selection principles for bibliographic indexes are given. There are given the options and ways of reflection of digital copies of bibliographic indexes in the electronic catalogue and the e-library of the RSL on the basis of study of the library website. There are analysed the possibilities of access to the content of the electronic library and considered the options for finding and providing users with digital copies. As a result, it is concluded on the necessity to form collections by types of documents in the electronic library. The proposals will contribute to the improvement of the quality of digital content of the electronic library.

Generalized analysis of 427 Russian dissertation researches in the specialty 14.03.10 (14.00.46) «Clinical Laboratory Diagnostics» over the period of 2000-2013 is presented. Currently complete author’s abstracts can be remotely accessed at official sites of institutions with Thesis Boards (since 2007) and at the site of State Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles, Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation (for Doctoral theses – since 2007, for Candidate’s theses – since April 2012). Thesis materials for the year 2013 don’t full in libraries, so the collection of 407 theses for the period of 2000–2012 was used for comparison. In thesis e-library of the Russian State Library 238 theses are digitized, or 55.2% of works total collection in the field of clinical laboratory diagnostics, in e-library of the Russian National Library – 331 author’s abstracts or 81.5 %. The digitized theses materials can be accessed free of charge in libraries reading halls, remote access can be provided for a fee. To optimize information support to scientific research there is a necessity to create in Russia a common theses database at Research Electronic Library, to organize a national subscription to digitized theses materials, and to coordinate the fields of documents scanning. Digitized theses database allows remote access, as well for foreign users. For integration into the world research community one should provide English abstract of the thesis (max. 250–300 characters) on the last page of the author’s abstract.

The use of pesticides and the risks to health of rural workersAbstract: Over the years, the growth of the world population has increased and with it the food production demand and declining population in rural areas and farms made this more difficult problem. The search for increasing food led agriculture to be characterized as extensive monocultures and large use of synthetic chemical fertilizers and pesticides. However, the use of pesticides in agriculture has led to a series of poisonings, making today is a serious health problem, especially among rural workers. Thus, the study aims to identify how does the use of pesticides and the risks to health of rural workers. Regarding the methodology used at work, the same it is one derived literature review of careful selection of scientific articles database as the Virtual Health Library (VHL), the Latin American and Caribbean Health Sciences (LILACS) and the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO), between the years 2004 to 2016. from this discussion, it is concluded that it is essential that people be alert about the actual damage caused to health by pesticides. Charging the bodies greater control as regards the quality of the food we eat and the health of rural workers who are exposed daily to these chemical products that kill. So, it is essential not to neglect this issue and the importance it has.

Increase of production and improvement of the quality of milk, as well as of the intensity of fertility, are main prerequisites of modern cattle production. For the purpose of production of domestic Simmental bulls it is necessary to select the best cows from main herd. These heads as a rule represent approx. 1% of best cows in the controlled population primary in regard to production of milk and milk fat, but also in regard to body development, udder development and fertility traits. Fertilization of bull dams is done according to adequate system, where, for each dam, annually, bull, previously selected as sire, is determined, whose semen will be used for her insemination. Since the fastest way for selection and genetic progress is sire-son line, the most attention is directed to selection of bull sires. In Serbia, annually, only very few bulls are tested, which is insufficient for realization of greater and faster genetic improvement of production and reproduction traits of Simmental population of cattle. Therefore, centres for artificial insemination often import semen of elite bulls for planned insemination of Simmental bull dams, or borrow young bulls from abroad (waiting bulls) whose semen is used for insemination of main population. In this paper criteria for selection of cows into category of bull dams are presented as well as results relating to milk production, fertility, body development and type score of bull dams of Simmental breed in Central Serbia.

The first musical-theoretical manuals of ancient Russia appeared in the 15th century. They were rather small in volume and contained information that was predominantly educational. The changes that were taking place in the singing system over several centuries were reflected in new types of manuals, conveying the peculiarities of the singing art (znamenny chant) of the time. By the middle of the 17th century, the codices began to occupy a significant place in manuscripts, which contained monuments of Russian liturgical singing. They were large-scale consolidated documents, including a selection of relatively independent musical-theoretical manuals, each of which revealed a separate aspect in the theory of znamenny chant, carried out according to special musical signs — kriuki (hooks). The tradition of handwritten copying of documents contributed to the fact that each type of theoretical manual was simultaneously in many copies that never matched the text with absolute accuracy and always contained discrepancies. The codex, analysed in this article, in the mid-17th century manuscript of V. F. Odoevsky’s Collection No. 1, which is kept in the Russian State Library, is a set of numerous copies of different theoretical manuals that were formatted by that time. These are the notable azbuka (ABC) that explain individual neums; kokizniki and fitniki, expounding upon the principles of formula singing; manuals that reveal the sound-naming system, as well as a meaningful layer of author’s comments that interpret and generalizing material for educational purposes.

A great number of calls enter call centres daily. It is difficult to determine the state of the call cenre without evaluation of the indicators of the call centre operational level. In order to control all significant indicators it is necessary to have software, which will allow a real-time monitoring of various data. The paper describes all significant indicators of operational level of the call centre, such as the duration of waiting for the answer; volume of calls; the duration of call treatment; service level indicator; the percentage of those calls, which helped to fix the problem; the quality of conducted services. The assignments of each of them are discussed, definatory formulae and examples of some indicators are given, criteria for selection of an optimal number of call centre operators are analyzed, theoretical and practical assessments of various indicators of calls are conducted and necessary recommendations for improving the performance of a call cenre are formed as well.

The article presents the results of an analysis of studies of the responsibility category, performed in the 21st century by Russian andforeign psychologists. To search for Russian works, we used the databases of the Electronic Library of the Russian State Library and the Russian Scientific Electronic Library eLIBRARY.ru To identify the works of foreign authors, we analysed 2910 journals from the Web of Science database (Social and Behavioural Sciences – Journal List). It was established that in Russian psychology, responsibility is understood as a form of self-regulation, realised in the consciousness of oneself as a subject of behaviour and its consequences. Russian researchers in the 21st century conduct clarifying studies of the formation and evolution of responsibility, studying the features of this mental phenomenon in representatives of various social groups and professions, and exploring the relationship between responsibility and success. In modern foreign psychology of the 21st century, responsibility has still been viewed from the angle of solving the practical problems of social psychology. We have revealed that most of the studies are clarifying in nature and are devoted to the characteristics of collective responsibility, morality and guilt. It seems important that both Russian and foreign researchers widely use the attributive approach.

The purpose of research. Currently, the problem of plagiarism is quite relevant and affects the scientific and educational spheres. Thus, the experts of the Russian State Library have organized special research, and they are issuing a series of articles devoted to that activity. Within the framework of fighting plagiarism and other negative phenomena, it becomes necessary to highlight mostly wide-spread problems of reference-arrangement for research papers, and to outline possible solutions for them. We will consider this issue in the first article of the series.Materials and methods. In order to achieve the aforementioned target the article uses the results of the plagiarism tests for research papers carried out by the Russian State Library with the help of specially designed software “Antiplagiat.RSL”.Results. The common defects of research papers are: inclusion of fictitious sources into the reference list, lack of homogeneity in reference arrangement, inadequate references to the groups of sources, quoting the derivative sources instead of the original one, spreading false information because of blind copying other researchers’ mistakes. Plagiarism tests carried out over scientific texts helped to identify the most frequent incorrect borrowings (overlapping wording of conclusions and generalizations, the same sentences used for describing results and methods, as well as word – for – word reproduced literature reviews). The documents revealed to become sources for such plagiaristic borrowings would often be works of research advisors and other authoritative specialists, candidate dissertation theses close in theme or structure, earlier publications of authors themselves, including those written in co-authorship.Conclusion. Numerous flaws are made by emerging authors due to the lack of knowledge, that is why students’ and post-graduates’ efficient training in work with GOST state standards as well as the quality of educational and methodological literature in research-paper writing would be of use. The article offers ways of improvement for research publication arrangement and specialized software products destined to make reference arrangement automatic.
