The authors disclose the essence of tax planning for domestic enterprises in the conditions of development of the economy in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Foreign experience as to approaches to interpretation of the phenomenon of «tax planning» is studied. It is substantiated that the existing modern approaches to the definition of the term of «tax planning» should be divided by the characteristics of purpose and subordination. The work contains a further elaboration of conceptual-categorical apparatus of taxation theory by closer defining of «tax planning», where, contrary to existing developments, it is proposed to assess the impact of elements of the current tax system on the efficiency of financial-economic activities of enterprises. A theoretical analysis of modern trends of tax planning is carried out and it is determined that the existing conditions of operation of enterprises are such phenomena as: digitalization of economic processes, robotization of business processes, influence of other factors of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and growth of uncertainty and level of risks for economic entities. According to the results of the research, it is defined that all these phenomena will affect the process of taxation of enterprises at the micro level due to the acceleration of data processing processes and changes in tax planning objects. The article explains the directions of further research on this topic, namely, the development of an economic-mathematical model of the influence of elements of the tax system in the context of the trends of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which becomes relevant in modern conditions of tax planning.

Purpose of the article: The article aims at presenting and analysing key changes in the strategic internal control of companies under the pressure of crisis phenomena. The research question is how to adapt the strategic internal control to an evolving crisis through inclusion of control environmental sustainability measures, and strategic model adaptation.Methodology: A qualitative approach has been applied along with the research of larger companies from the brewery sector and small-and medium sized enterprises from the knitted fabrics manufacturing sector in Bulgaria. The study has also taken into consideration some companies’ strategic documents, as well as interviews with companies’ managers. The gathered information has been systematized, compared and evaluated with the help of the “Relative (Competitive) Advantage Matrix” model.Scientific aim: Understanding the impact of changes in strategic internal control on management under the pressure of crisis phenomena.Findings: The analysing of the quasi-control environment and competitive advantages is an important strategic management issue during crises. Competitive advantages derive mainly from the characteristics of the product (or service) that make it better than the products (or services) of competitors and they are associated with changes in the strategic internal control of companies under the pressure of hard times. Conclusions: Strategic internal control has to be adapted to the crisis situation through control environmental sustainability measures, strategic model adaptation and selected competitive advantages. Business processes are changing as a result of crisis times, then the control environment, risk assessments and competitive advantages need to be more detailed and analysed in different aspects. At the same time, the strategic internal control in hard times faces unexpected results, such as a drastic reduction in the incomes, a decrease in retail sales or a drastic increase in online sales. Using the collected information, comparisons can be made to better outline similarities and differences that will point out ways for improvement. This information should be brought to the attention of the personnel of the companies. The change in the activities should not be delayed in time, since information quickly becomes out-dated.

Since the Industrial Revolution, human activities have led to the emission of a lot of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, sharply increasing the concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and resulting in serious global warming. With the rapid development of computer technology, the digital economy is gradually becoming the engine of economic growth. As a new economic mode, how the digital economy affects the environment is worth studying. In this paper, we introduced the digital economy into the Solow growth model as technological progress and conducted fixed-effects regressions based on the global panel data of 190 countries from 2005 to 2016. We found an inverted U-shaped, non-linear relationship between CO2 emissions and the digital economy, which supports the environmental Kuznets curve (EKC) hypothesis. We suggest that governments need to not only adopt hedging policies to reduce CO2 emissions caused by the digital economy in the early stage but also promote the development of the digital economy to achieve the goal of global collaborative environmental protection.

Today, the development of human capital follows the same approaches that have been used since the mid-twentieth century, in a completely different economic and social context. But the rapid development of the remote mode of work, freelancing, and self-employment radically change the organization of their activities. Robots and artificial intelligence perform only a small part of the work today. As the pace of automation increases, the number of employees will decrease. Moreover, it has become easier both technologically and legally. Remote work is now officially recognized, and its terms will be officially spelled out in the employment contract. The article is devoted to the issue of the possible introduction of unconditional basic income (UBI) in the practice of social services and employment services. The unconditional basic income (UBI) is considered today as a regular state payment of a certain amount of money to each member of society, regardless of where they worked or whether they worked at all. The article analyzes the trends in the labour market and their impact on the transition to the concept of unconditional basic income of the UBI. These trends are confirmed by the results of research on various aspects of this problem. Special attention is paid to the impact of the 4th industrial revolution of the 6th TU on employment, as the main condition that ensures the transition to the establishment of the UBI

The existing business models essential for the creation of consumer value and, consequently, business competitiveness are now undergoing a transformation. Brand-new technological developments based on network integration, intelligent technology and flexible automation are becoming increasingly relevant: additional competitive opportunities appear, and knowledge management and intellectual capital management are becoming key business processes. When developing a strategic vision, it is important for companies to pick the relevant data out of the information flow about the external and internal environment and convert it into organizational knowledge, which is a core management resource. The paper analyses the experience of Russian and foreign companies in the introduction of scalable models focused on the widespread use of Industry 4.0 and establishes the principles and strategies of knowledge management that allow these companies to maintain their competitive positions in a strategic perspective. The theory of knowledge management and resource approach constitute the methodological framework of the present study. The general scientific methods of logical-structural analysis and systematization, as well as the contingency case study method were applied. The information base encompasses the case studies of six companies, retrieved from publicly available sources. The findings of the empirical research prove the feasibility of applying a situational approach to knowledge management: companies use different strategies for accumulating and sharing knowledge according to their maturity level and the area of implementation of Industry 4.0. Based on the results obtained, the authors develop a situational approach to the strategic knowledge management of companies that successfully apply the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. The theoretical and practical significance of the study lies in identifying common approaches to knowledge management under various conditions, which can be used to create the strategic vision of managers involved in the key decision-making process in companies.

Due to the rapid development of digital technology, the structure of future jobs is becoming increasingly complex, and university graduates need to acquire the right combination of skills to succeed in a rapidly changing world. The need for continuous replenishment and updating of professional knowledge is determined by the pace of scientific and technological progress, the transition to the information stage of the development of society, and the widespread use of innovative technologies. There are prerequisites for the formation and development of the category of “strategic outsourcing”. Unlike the services of the service, which have a one-time, episodic nature, strategic outsourcing is usually transferred to the functions of professional support for the uninterrupted operation of individual systems and infrastructure based on a long-term contract. Strategic outsourcing allows not only to restructure business processes radically but also significantly improve opportunities and prospects. The purpose of this study is to study the concept of outsourcing in entrepreneurial training and the development of human capital.

The activity of the mining industry in the South of the Russian Empire, of which Ukraine was part at that time, is analyzed. It is noted that the rapid development of industry in the Russian Empire after the abolition of serfdom in 1861 opened up opportunities for investors to raise capital. Information is given about why Kharkiv became the center of investment life of mine owners, namely its good geographical location. Data on the number of inhabitants of the city and the number of trading institutions are provided. The stages in the formation of the mining industry of the South of the Russian Empire as a driving force for economic development in Ukraine are highlighted. The causes of weak coal sales from the Donbas and the development of the factory industry of Ukraine in the 1860s are analyzed. It is shown how these issues were resolved. In particular, mining congresses were organized to discuss and resolve these issues. It is shown how the decisions of mining congresses influenced the development of the country's economy at the end of the nineteenth century. Examples of issues discussed at these congresses are given. In particular, the congresses discussed – workers, higher and secondary specialized education, mining credit, insurance, the ratio of the mining industry to zemstvos and land taxation of enterprises of the mining industry, taxes, land relations, postal, telegraph and telephone traffic, passenger traffic in the Southern Russia area, duties, ports, marinas, navigable rivers and canals, shipbuilding and merchant shipping, export of mineral fuel abroad, construction of new railways, etc. It should be noted that the central issue discussed at almost all mining congresses was the question of tariffs, and this was not a coincidence, since it directly concerned the markets for industrialists without whom production could not be developed, and with it the intensification of the industrial revolution. Therefore, this problem, in one form or another, has arisen constantly.Information is provided on the number of such congresses, as well as on the creation of a permanent body, the Council of Miners of the South of the Russian Empire. It analyzes the so-called “coal crisis” and the role of major mining companies in the collusion. The monopolization of the market is considered. Emphasis is placed on the customs policy of the tsarist government. Speculation on temporary fuel difficulties is illustrated. It is noted that at the end of the 1890s, there were especially high rates of development of the Donbas coal industry. Special tariffs for the export of Donetsk coal abroad were introduced. Thus, in the last quarter of the 19th century, the mining and monopolization of the mining industry of the south of the Russian Empire were enlarged and monopolized.

Abstract Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are assumed to be one of the key contributors to the country’s economic growth and social welfare. Thus, their internationalisation appears to be inevitable considering how globalisation processes have changed the rules of competition in recent decades. Smart and digitalised technologies (Internet of Things and Services, etc.) decentralise communication and provide the opportunities for new firms to overcome the barriers of geographical location and access international markets through co-creation business models and changes of the value chains. The paper aims at analysing and disclosing how the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) influences SME internationalisation. The present study is grounded on the research of extant scientific literature and assessment of experts. The research demonstrates that Industry 4.0 positively influences the internationalisation of SMEs on a number of dimensions. The recommendations for managers and policymakers how to foster internationalisation of SMEs are suggested.
