Based on literature reviews and analysis of research reports on Pinellia ternata found locally and abroad in recent years, this article summarizes and arranges them. The research on Pinellia ternata mainly focuses on its cultivation, tissue culture, and so on. There are only a few research on its active components and its regulation mechanism. The wild resources of Pinellia ternata are gradually decreasing, hence it is urgent to take effective measures to protect these wild resources as well as to establish germplasm resources bank and nursery. In order to meet the needs of the domestic market, it is necessary to investigate the distribution of wild Pinellia ternata resources, explore the best growing environment and conditions, artificially cultivate Pinellia ternata, as well as implement resource industrialization, sustainable development, and utilization.

Cunninghamia lanceolate (Lambert.) Hooker is one of the main fast-growing timber forest species in southern China which has a long history of cultivation and spreads across 28 provinces, cities, and regions. Recently, a variant of fir was discovered in the Xiaoxi National Nature Reserve in Hunan Province. The heartwood is hard as iron and its ratio is more than 80%, with the especial character of anti-corruption. It is a natural germplasm resource, called Iron-heart Cunninghamia lanceolate. Study on it is still in the stage of data accumulation. In this paper, we studied it from three points as follows: (1) Plus tree selection and construction of germplasm resources nursery. (2) Study on cone and seed quality. (3) Genetic structure analysis of natural population. The research of Iron-heart Cunninghamia lanceolate lays a theoretical foundation for the protection, development, and utilization of the black-heart wood germplasm resources of Iron-heart Cunninghamia lanceolate in the future.

: As a medicinal fungus, Inonotus obliquus (IO) has been widely used in the treatment of cancer and digestive system diseases. Despite the progress that has been made in the studies of IO and its active compounds, their applications in other important clinical diseases, such as cardiovascular diseases, which are major global issues with limited treatment strategies, are seldom reported. This review summarizes the separation and purification methods of chemical components of IO, the advances in their applications, and research progress on the pharmacological effects and related mechanisms of IO in disease prevention. This review will help researchers and clinicians to further understand the pharmacological functions and mechanisms of IO and its active components, which may extend their medical applications in the prevention and treatment of other diseases in addition to tumors and digestive system diseases in the near future.

Using phytoremediation technique to remove contaminants from soil had become a topic in current research.This article expounded the domestic and oversea research progress of hyperaccumulators on cultivation techniques and was systematically elaborated from many aspects,including variety selecting,seedling breeding,fertilizing (nitrogen phosphorus and organic fertilizer),usage of chelator and ameliorant,polyploid breeding,etc.The direction of hyperaccumulators research is put forward that the aboveground biomass and the heavy metal accumulation quantity should be raised through improving cultivation measures,meanwhile a new idea about research of plant tissue culture has been come up with.

In this study, the chemical composition of different tissues of Rana temporaria chensinensis David derived from the same individual was analyzed by comparative approach. First, pre-column derivatization combined with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) was established to determine the content of 1-methyl hydantoin in samples, which used S1–S5 samples. The results indicated that 1-methyl hydantoin was determined in Oviductus Ranae (OR), Rana chensinensis ovum (RCO), Rana chensinensis meat (RCM), and Rana chensinensis skin (RCS), except for Rana chensinensis bone (RCB). Moreover, the content of it in RCS was the highest. In addition, the contents of six polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) in different tissues of Rana chensinensis were measured by HPLC, including eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA), α-linolenic acid (ALA), docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), arachidonic acid (ARA), linoleic acid (LA) and oleic acid (OA). The results indicated that OR, RCO, RCM, RCS, and RCB all contained the above six PUFAs. With the aid of chemometrics methods, the results of principal component analysis (PCA), hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), and orthogonal partial least squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) combined with the sequencing results of the total PUFAs content of each sample, showed that different tissues of Rana chensinensis could be divided into four categories, and the RCO sample was divided into one category because of the highest PUFAs content, which was a good source of PUFA. For comparison, OR and other tissue from the perspective of PUFAs, we also established OPLS-DA models of them. It could be found that the RCM was the most similar to the OR in the diversity and content of PUFAs. This study provided a theoretical basis for the further development and utilization of RCO, RCM, RCS, and RCB as by-products of OR.

It also pointed out the application prospects of rosemary extracts in the field of medicine, new feed additives, and functional food.

Tabanus is a traditional Chinese medicine. In recent years, various protein active components derived from the Tabanus salivary gland have been explored, and many promising components were found to have therapeutic effect. The rich active components in its salivary gland have pharmacological effects, such as anti-platelet aggregation, anti-inflammatory, anti-infection, immunosuppression, anti-angiogenic, and anti-tumor effects. This paper summarizes findings from the related articles about Tabanus in recent years with a special focus on its pharmacological effects so as to provide reference for its further development and utilization.
