ABSTRACTThis research aims to find to produce the feasible, effective, and efficient Map Box Props to improve the students’ understanding of the concept and critical thinking. The type of this research is development by Dick and Carrey model. Viewed from the learning process has been done by utilizing Map Box Props, The result of pre-test and post-test are used to test the effectiveness through the T-Test on the understanding concepts 2,111 ≥ 2,021 and T-Test on the critical thinking ability 6,556 ≥ 2,021. It can be concluded that H0 is rejected so that there is a difference in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and control class. In conclusion, the use of Map Box Props in the process of learning to improve the students’ understanding of the concept and critical thinking ability of class V in elementary school is feasible, practical, and effective to be used in social science, especially in historical materials of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Islam.  Keywords:, Effectiveness, Feasibility, Map-Box Montessori, Practicality,  Props. ABSTRAKPenelitian ini memiliki tujuan menghasilakan alat peraga Box Map yang layak, praktis dan efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengkonstrukan konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas V Sekolah Dasar. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu pengembangan dengan model Dick and Carrey. Melalui keterlaksanaan proses pembelajaran menggunakan alat peraga Box Map dapat disimpulkan bahwa alat Box Map berbasis metode Montessori praktis digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengkonstruksikan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SD. Hasil uji pretest dan posttest digunakan untuk menguji keefektifan melalui Uji-T yaitu pada kemampuan mengkonstruksikan pemahaman konsep 2,111 ≥ 2,021 dan Uji-T pada kemampuan berpikir kritis yaitu 6,556 ≥ 2,021 maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak, dengan demikian tedapat perbedaan hasil belajar siswa antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Jadi, dapat disimpulkan bahwa Alat peraga Box Map dalam proses pembelajaran layak, efektif dan praktis digunakan. Kata Kunci: Alat peraga, Box Map, Montessori, Kelayakan, Kepraktisan, Keefektifan.

The purpose of this research is to know the effect of the search, solve, create, and share (SSCS) learning model on critical thinking ability and student learning outcomes in science subjects. The sampling technique is purposive sample population through the experimental method, this research population is the students of class V SDN 12 Palu. Based on the result of data analysis, it can be concluded that: 1) there was the influence of learning model search, solve, create and share (SSCS) to student critical thinking ability on science subjects with human and animal organ material; 2) there was the influence of learning model of search, solve, create and share to student learning outcomes on science subjects with human and animal organ material: 3) the average gain after the posttest in the experimental class was 82.97; 4) the results of observation of teacher activity and observation of student activities can be said to be good.

The instrument, before being used in the study, was first validated and reliably. After that, the hypothesis test uses the t-test is the Independent Sample T-Test. The high increase of electronic media supported by internet resulted in accessing all information easily. Concurrently, the requirement of thinking critically intrigued all parties to be involved in the internet environment. This research aimed at investigating whether or not there were significant mean differences of critical thinking ability in writing exposition text between students who were taught by using E-writing method and those who were given traditional method of writing. The study employed quantitative paradigm design with the type of quasi experimental and involved students which was selected purposively and formed into experimental group and control group. The primary data was the result of pre-test and post-test in the form of essays which were scored by the Holistic Critical Thinking Scoring Rubric (HTCR) developed by Facione & Facione (2011). Based on the result of pre-test and post-test, NGain was analyzed through Man Whitney test to find out the significant mean different of students’ critical thinking ability. After being analyzed by using SPSS 23, the Mann Whitney test came up with the accepted hypotheses i.e., there were significant mean differences of critical thinking ability between experiment group and control group, with mean of NGain score for experimental group was higher than control group had. The statistical output of Mann Whitney test obtained implied that students’ critical thinking ability were influenced by E-writing method. The result of the study convinced that E-writing contributed greater improvement in students’ critical thinking ability than the traditional method did. The finding of present study provided evidence for the effectiveness of E-writing in increasing the students’ ability in thinking critically in writing exposition text.

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry model on student learning outcomes in Mathematics learning in grade V SD Gugus XII Kota Bengkulu. This type of research is a quasi-experimental research with the design of the study of the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The population in this study is all students of class V SD group XII consisting of 5 elementary schools. Based on the homogeneity test results, the sample in this study were the students of grade V SDN 99 as the experimental class and the students of class V SDN 81 as the control class. The research instrument used is a matter of objective test consisting of 20 items. Data analysis used is descriptive analysis, prerequisite test and inferential analysis that is t-test. Based on data analysis of research results, obtained the average value of posttest result of experimental class using guided inquiry model that is 78,120 and control class using conventional learning that is 62,789. T-test of both sample classes with significance level?                = 0.05, obtained count = 4,730 whereas ttable = 2,000, tcount> ttable so that H0 is rejected and Ha accepted. The increase of study result percentage in experiment class is higher than control class that is 83.36% in experimental class and control class 33.98%. Thus it can be concluded there is a significant effect of student learning outcomes that follow the learning using guided inquiry model.

Abstrak: Kegelisahan akademik dalam makalah ini adalah lemahnya proses berpikir peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran. Maka penelitian ini  bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas eksperimen sebelum dan setelah diterapkan Brain Based Learning, menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas kontrol sebelum dan setelah diterapkan pembelajaran konvensional, dan menganalisis perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif. Populasinya adalah mahasiswa semester 3 Program Studi Pendidikan Agama Islam STAIN Curup. Teknik samplingnya yaitu cluster sampling. Teknik pengumpulan datanya menggunakan tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan teknik analisis datanya menggunakan uji t (Independent-Sample T Test). Hasil penelitiannya pertama, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas eksperimen sebelum dan setelah diterapkan Brain Based Learning. Kedua, terdapat perbedaan kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas kontrol sebelum dan setelah diterapkan pembelajaran konvensional. Ketiga, hasil uji hipotesis pre-test tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Sedangkan hasil pengujian hipotesis post-test terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan berpikir kritis mahasiswa kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. ملخص: يجري هذا البحث في تخصص التربية الإسلامية في الجامعة الإسلامية الحكومية بجورب لتحليل فرق كفاءة التفكير النقدي بين المجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة الضابطة. طريقة البحث المستخدمة في هذا البحث هي الطريقة الكمية. ونوع الطريقة المستخدم هو طريقة التجريبية بتصميم شبه التجريبي مجموعة الضابطة غير معادل. نتائج البحث تدل على أولا، الإختبار القبلي عن تفكير نقدي الطلاب في المجموعة التجريبية هو كاف. وقيمة متوسطة في الإختبار البعدي هي جيد جدا. ثانيا، الإختبار القبلي عن تفكير نقدي الطلاب في المجموعة الضابطة هو كاف. والإختبار البعدي هو جيد. ثالثا، نتيجة اختبار الفرضي للإختبار القبلي عن تفكير نقدي الطلاب في المجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة الضابطة بعينة مستقبلة اختبار ت تحصل ٢،٣٠٣ ( لذلك الفرض الصفري هو مقبول و الفرض المباشر هو غير < على قيمة تحساب > تجدول ) 0.154مقبول. ونتيجة اختبار الفرضي للإختبار البعدي عن تفكير نقدي الطلاب في المجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة٢،٣٠٣ ( لذلك الفرض الصفري هو غير مقبول و < الضابطة تحصل على قيمة تحساب < تجدول ) 243.8 الفرض المباشر هو مقبول.

This study aims to determine the effect of the experimental method using PhET simulation on the ability of critical thinking and learning outcomes in review from the initial knowledge of students of class VIII MTsN Maguwoharjo Sleman. The population used is class VIII which is divided into 4 classes of parallel namely class VIII A, VIII B, VIII C, VIII D. Sampling is done randomly, so that obtained class VIII B as control class and class VIII C as experimental class treated with experimental method using PhET simulation. Technique of data retrieval is done by giving pretest to know early knowledge of student. Then do different learning, then students are given a post to know the ability of critical thinking and learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing was done by Mancova test using SPSS 17.0 program. based on the Mancova test that has been done, obtained the significance of the critical thinking ability 0,00 and the learning result is also 0.00. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara acak, sehingga diperoleh kelas VIII B sebagai kelas control dan kelas VIII C sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diberi perlakuan dengan metode eksperimen menggunakan simulasi PhET. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan memberikan pretest untuk mengetahui pengetahuan awal siswa. Kemudian dilakukan pembelajaran yang berbeda, selanjutnya siswa diberi postest untuk mengetahui kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajarnya. Pengujian hipotesis dilakukan dengan uji Mancova dengan menggunakan program SPSS 17.0. berdasarkan uji Mancova yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh nilai signifikansi kemampuan berpikir kritis 0,00 dan hasil belajar juga 0,00. Karena semua signifikansinya di bawah 0,05 berarti terdapat pengaruh penerapan metode eksperimen menggunakan simulasi PhET terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa.</p>

Abstract:This study aimed to (1) produce a module of children literature based on nationalism character to improve the critical thinking ability of the fourth grade students of MIN Boyolali, and (2) measure the effectiveness of the module used in classroom toward critical thinking ability of the fourth grade students of MIN Boyolali. Set within the research and development type, this study adapted the development procedure formulated by Borg and Gall (1983). Data were collected through interview and observation, product validation, questionnaire of the teacher and the students’ response, and the result of pre-test and post-test which was analyzed using independent sample t-test. Meanwhile, the effectiveness was tested through quasi experiment. The result of the research showed that the module was categorized as “fit” by material and language expert; while the media expert categorized it as "very fit". In the other hand, the teacher and the students’ responses to the use of learning module were categorized as "excellent". Further, the output of the independent sample t test showed that the module was effective to improve the students' critical thinking skills.Abstrak:Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) menghasilkan modul sastra anak berdasarkan karakter nasionalisme untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV MIN Boyolali, dan (2) mengukur efektivitas modul yang digunakan di kelas terhadap kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa kelas IV MIN Boyolali. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian pengembangan yang mengadaptasi prosedur pengembangan yang dirumuskan oleh Borg dan Gall (1983). Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dan observasi, validasi produk, kuesioner dari guru dan respon siswa, dan hasil pre-test dan post-test yang dianalisis menggunakan independent sample t-test. Sementara itu, keefektifannya diuji melalui eksperimen semu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa modul dikategorikan “cocok” oleh ahli materi dan bahasa; sedangkan pakar media mengategorikannya "sangat pas". Di sisi lain, respons guru dan siswa terhadap penggunaan modul pembelajaran dikategorikan "sangat baik". Selanjutnya, hasil dari uji t sampel independen menunjukkan bahwa modul ini efektif untuk meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa

Abstract. This study aims to improve Critical Thinking Ability and mathematics learning outcomes of linear program material through the KONTURA learning model in class XI IIA MAN Karanggede in semester 1 of the school year 2017/2018. The KONTURA Learning Model is a combination of Contextual Learning Models and Peer Tutors and uses GeoGebra media. This type of research is Classroom Action Research conducted in two cycles with research subjects in class XI IIA MAN Karanggede in semester 1 of the year 2017/2018, totaling 25 children consisting of 9 men and 16 women. Data collection techniques used were observation, documentation, tests and questionnaires. Data analysis used included qualitative data analysis, namely data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion, as well as quantitative data analysis, namely the assessment of Critical Thinking Ability and peer observation of the implementation of the KONTURA learning. The results of this study indicate that Critical Thinking Ability and Mathematics student learning outcomes through the KONTURA learning model in class XI IIA MAN Karanggede in the first semester of the 2017/2018 academic year can increase. Improved Critical Thinking Ability can be seen from the results of the questionnaire Critical Thinking Ability with the following results: High Critical Thinking Ability there are 3 students (12%), after the application of the KONTURA learning model the students' Critical Thinking Ability increases to: High Critical Thinking Ability there are 22 students ( 88%), there is a 76% increase. Student learning outcomes can increase from the number of students who get very good grades there are 0 students or 0%, the number of students who get good grades there are 0 students or 0%, after applying the KONTURA learning model the learning outcomes increase: the number of students who get very high scores either there is 1 student or 4%, the number of students who score well is 5 students or 20%, there is a 24% increase.
