The use of sand as a mold in the casting process is very common. In this study, Balikpapan sand used as casting sand then analyzed its effect on hardness and fluidity of the Al-Si alloy. The research method used in this research is quantitative research methods using pre-experimental design, especially the one-shot case study model. The final results of this study will be obtained (1) the value of metal hardness from casting using the Micro Vickers Hardness Tester with a Hardness Vickers (HV) scale, (2) fluidity testing is carried out using the Birmingham method in order to determine the length of the cast metal flow (mm) on the final result of casting.

This study shows the factors that influence integrated social protection services from the perspective of the beneficiaries at integrated and referral system (SLRT) in Bandung Regency. Respondents of this study were 284 beneficiaries of integrated social protection services. This research uses quantitative research methods. The results of this study indicate that center of social welfare (Puskesos) in Bandung Regency have implemented integrated social protection. Beneficiary families also considered that officers were able to provide new information as an effort to solve problems. The existence of Puskesos provides convenience and time effectiveness for beneficiary families due to the one-stop service. This one-stop service proves that there is coordination and communication between related agencies. This collaboration is supported by the commitment of various parties, such as stakeholders in Bandung Regency from local stakeholders at the village level to Puskesos officials themselves. However, in infrastructure aspect, some beneficiary families felt they were not satisfied with infrastructure, such as the comfort when they were about to submit a complaint.

UNSTRUCTURED This paper is a case study on the design of an educational game for the prevention of cyberbullying and an analysis of its educational effect. I selected a game titled “Angry Daddy,” which was developed based on the request of Korean government authority and analyzed the mode of development of the game and its educational effect. For this research, both qualitative and quantitative research methods were used. Moreover, advice regarding the game design was obtained from many experts belonging to various fields. Based on the analysis of the game design and its educational effect, it was confirmed that the following factors are important to design an educational game meant for the prevention of cyberbullying and to enhance its educational effect: First, cooperation between content experts and game development experts is essential to develop an educational game. Second, it should be verified whether the contents and the format of the game are appropriate by analyzing the play test results of the target audience. Third, it is essential to prepare a manual to guide teachers to apply the game to the field. Fourth, it was confirmed that educating students on sensitive topics like cyberbullying is very effective when educational games that make them feel and experience the outcomes of bullying are utilized. This research is expected to be helpful for future design of educational games and the research and development of the format of cyberbullying prevention education.

PThis study aims to determine the effect of the internal control system on the performance of local government Case Study in Gorontalo Regency. This study uses quantitative research methods, and the data sources use primary data obtained from questionnaires distributed to respondents. Meanwhile, the data analysis used in this research is descriptive quantitative analysis using statistical t-test and coefficient of determination test (ajusted R-Square). The results showed that the internal control system had a positive effect on the performance of local governments with a determinant value of 48.7%. The result of this study contribute to the government to establish and implement a more effectives Internal Constrol Systems (ICS).

This paper aims at investigating the factors which influence instructors of primary and secondary education into using Web 2.0 based teaching techniques in their teaching now and in the future. Two hundred and fifty three teachers participated in a survey conducted with a quantitative research method followed by short interviews for clarification purposes in the research area. The results showed that both gender and teaching experience are factors that influence this attitude, whereas the type of school seems to have no influence on educators’ decision to employ such tools in their teaching practices.

This study deals with a case study of a program that integrates high-functioning autistic spectrum students in Israeli academia. The case study focuses on the attitudes of students and faculty towards high-functioning autistic spectrum (HFA) students, aiming to examine their contribution to the integration of HFA students in academia, with regard to the academic-social climate and their perceived self-efficacy. The case study may serve academic institutions as a model for the adjustment and integration of autistic spectrum students, with the inclusion of academic and administrative elements. The study is based on mixed methods methodology, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative research methods. Five hundred twenty six students, 103 faculty, as well as 30 students with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) and 27 mentoring students participating in the program, were asked to complete a quantitative research questionnaire. The research findings show that the integration of HFA students in academic studies is potentially possible, predicated on awareness among faculty and students as to the nature of the disability. Variables with high significance for the program's success were detected, involving teaching tools, institutional support, and a tolerant academic-social climate. The research findings indicate that with regard to nearly all the variables the faculty have the highest awareness of and sensitivity to integrating HFA students in academic studies. The literature review, as well as the findings of the current study, support the integration of people with HFA in various institutions and confirm the conditions for this success: institutional and social motivation together with a tolerant atmosphere.

Educational research is one of the many fields of knowledge that frequently use case studies as a research method, particularly when applying an interpretive approach. Based on literature reviews and a systematic analysis of current scientific literature, this paper examines the prevalence and characteristics of the case study as a methodology for research on MOOCs. Ninety-two documents were selected from the search results returned by two of the most prestigious scientific databases: Web of Science (WOS) and SCOPUS. Findings showed that (a) even when searching solely for case studies, quantitative research paradigms were more prevalent than interpretive approaches; (b) geographical distribution of these studies was partially biased; (c) case studies were less prevalent in these databases than other empirical investigations on MOOCs; (d) the data collection and data analysis methods most frequently used in the case studies were more aligned with a quantitative approach; and (e) there is still very little instructor-focused research using this methodology. In the light of these findings and their discussion, future directions for research using case study methodology are proposed, given the potential of this method to illustrate certain issues for which other approaches have proved inadequate or insufficient.

Case studies are used in design research to analyze a phenomenon, to generate hypotheses, and to validate a method. Though they are used extensively, there appears to be no accepted systematic case study method used by design researchers. Considering its nature and objectives, the case study method could be considered as a suitable method for conducting design research. Many times, design researchers have to confront questions about the validity of using case studies and their results. The objective of this paper is to present a brief overview of case study method, compare it with other qualitative and quantitative research methods, and study the merits and limitations of using the same in design research. Requirements are derived from the general characteristics of design research. Four popular research strategies are evaluated with respect to the requirements. A preliminary benchmark study suggests that case study method is a suitable method for conducting design research.

Learning Management Systems (LMS) have played a significant role in education. The purpose of this study is to investigate the acceptance level of LMS amongst students of two Universities in Tehran, Payamnoor and Farhangian. The total number of participants was 200. This study was directed based on a quantitative research method and data collection from a questionnaire which was then interpreted according to accurate statistical procedures through SPSS software. Results show that most students, regardless their gender, age, and department were satisfied with the usage of Payamnoor and Farhangian LMSs. However, a student’s grades seem to play a significant role regarding his or hers level of satisfaction from the LMS.
