Abstract This report describes how physic teachers?óÔé¼Ôäó competency can be strengthening by exploring their writing capability through a workshop conducted by team of community service. This training was given to KKG / teachers?óÔé¼Ôäó group of Satriyo Utomo Ngawen Blora in 2010. The materials are how to find the topic, how to write a proposal of classroom research, and how to arrange a report of classroom action research, then how to make it into an article. By having these skills, it is expected that they will be able to arrange their own action research and article in order to raise their grade and prosperity. Team also gives them a full advice for those who want to make a proposal, a report and an article until they enable make their own classroom research by themselves. Through this training, KKG Satriyo Utomo Ngawen feels that it is really needed to sharpen and empower their writing skill especially writing a classroom action research and an article. [Bahasa]: Penguasaan bahasa Inggris sebagai bahasa resmi internasional merupakan tuntutan bagi siswa agar mampu bersaing di era globalisasi. Masyarakat di daerah destinasi wisata seperti Lombok membutuhkan penguasaan Bahasa Inggris yang baik agar memudahkan mereka untuk mencari lapangan pekerjaan. Oleh karenanya siswa di sekolah harus mendapatkan pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris yang baik agar memiliki kompetensi yang memadai. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan kemampuan menulis narasi bahasa Inggris bagi siswa kelas IX melalui pemanfaatan gambar berseri. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah dengan pengabdian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan partisipan sebanyak 24 siswa kelas IX. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan media gambar berseri dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis naratif dalam Bahasa Inggris. Kata kunci: gambar berseri, bahasa Inggris, kemampuan menulis [English]: Mastery of English as an official international language is a demand for students to be able to compete in the era of globalization. The residents in tourist destination areas such as Lombok need to master good English in order to be easier in finding jobs. Therefore students in schools must get good English learning in order to have adequate competence. The purpose of this community service activity is to improve the ability to write English narratives for students of class IX through the use of serial images. The method used was classroom action research with 24 students as participants in IX grade. The results show that the use of serial image media in learning English can improve the ability to write narratives in English. Keywords: picture series, English, writing skill

Abstrak: Pengabdian bagi masyarakat ini mengambil topik “Pengenalan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK).” Pelatihan tersebut diperuntukan bagi Guru-Guru Sekolah SMP Muhammadiyah Rawalo, Kabupaten Banyumas, Provinsi Jawa Tengah, Indonesia yang berjumlah 18 orang. Kegiatan tersebut dilakukan pada hari Senin,7 Januari 2019. Selama kegiatan pelatihan ini, para guru diberi bekal pengetahuan tentang metodologi penelitian secara umum, metode penelitian jenis PTK, dan alasan yang melatarbelakangi perlunya dilaksanakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Melalui kegiatan-kegiatan tersebut, diharapkan adanya peningkatan kesadaran dan motivasi untuk melakukan penelitian PTK, pengembangan kualitas pembelajaran, dan adanya peningkatan pemahaman tentang PTK. Kata Kunci: landasan penelitian, metodologi penelitian, PTK Abstract: This community service took a topic “Introducing classroom action research (CAR).” This training was for eighteen (18) secondary school teachers of Sekolah Menengah Pertama Muhammadiyah Rawalo in Banyumas district, Jawa Tengah province, Indonesia. The community service was conducted on Monday, 7th of January 2019. During the activity of this community service, the teachers were given the knowledge of research methodology, CAR, and the foundation of doing CAR. After conducting this service, the teachers hopefully have the awareness and motivation to do CAR, the awareness of improving learning quality, and the comprehension improvement of CAR. Brainstorming activity is a main factor that can give effect on students’ writing motivation. Teaching English writing by using brainstorming strategy is really important especially to increase students’ motivation. This research is aimed at investigating the effect of brainstorming and its relation to students’ motivation in English writing for the second semester students of Management Major of STIE Perbanas Surabaya, numbering 25 students in academic year 2018-2019. Classroom Action Research (CAR) method was applied in this research. Researcher could investigate and analyze brainstorming process by using this method. Applying brainstorming strategy, the participants (students) were more motivated in terms of writing, which at this time was English writing with a particular topic. Result of this study revealed that brainstorming strategy could improve students’ English Writing skill and their motivation in writing. They could produce good and effective words, and also interesting answers. Based on the fact, brainstorming strategy is suggested for teaching English Writing. Students’ motivation in writing much higher than without brainstorming strategy. Key Words: Brainstorming, Motivation, English Writing

Professional teachers can be seen from the ability of teachers to produce quality Classroom Action Research (CAR). If seen not all teachers are able to produce research in accordance with CAR standards. Through Community Service Program, Unipa Surabaya PGSD Study Program with the theme of Classroom Action Research Writing (CAR) for Elementary School Teachers in Gayungan II Elementary School in Surabaya is expected to help teachers in producing quality CAR. From the results of the training that has been carried out, it seems that the enthusiasm of the SDN Gayungan 2 Surabaya teacher in following the CAR was very good. The majority of participants felt they needed to get CAR training. Participants feel the benefits after receiving CAR training.

This classroom action research aims to improve students' writing skill of class X4 SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba. The subjects of the study were the students of class X SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba as much as 42 people. The object of research is the technique of direct object and peer editing, as well as the skill of writing the description. The action is done in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, implementation, observation / evaluation, and reflection. The research data is the data writing skill descriptions collected through the guidelines of writing descriptions and observation skills. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitative. The result of research shows that firstly, the process of learning with direct object technique that can improve the writing skill of descriptive paragraph of X-4 students of SMA Negeri 3 Bulukumba is by applying direct object technique in cycle I through planning, implementation, evaluation and reflection phase. In the first cycle of learning to write a descriptive paragraph is considered less than the maximum so that learning is continued into cycle II by designing the learning using direct object engineering and peer editing techniques. Second, the learning result of descriptive paragraph writing skill with direct object and peer editing technique has increased the average score of students who in cycle I only 81.3 increased to 88.1. In addition, there is also a significant change in attitude in students.

In the process of learning Economics (Accounting) required a certain strategy and strong motivation. Teachers play a very important role, especially in terms of designing learning scenarios. Teachers should be able to choose a learning model that can increase the motivation of learners, in accordance with the characteristics of subjects, and characteristics of learners so that learning can take place optimally. The aim of this classroom action research is to improve the learning of learners using the student centered learning model. This research was conducted in class XI IPS1, MAN 1 Cilegon semester 1, material Posting from Juku Kebuku Besar Journals, post to a subsidiary "using cycles, in this study the author tries to 2 cycles. The results show that in each cycle of understanding the accounting, cycle of a merchandising company on post material from a special journal to the ledger, posting to the auxiliary book, gained increased motivation and learning outcomes. In general it can be concluded that the use of student centered learning model can improve the motivation and learning outcomes of learners. AbstrakPendidikan dasar merupakan sekolah yang memiliki peran yang strategis dan fundamental bagi pembangunan bangsa. Sehingga penyelenggaraan pendidikan di sekolah dasar harus diarahkan dan menunjang secara optimal demi mencapai tuuan pendidikan nasional. Peraturan baru yang mengharuskan syarat pernah melakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas bagi guru sebagai syarat naik golongan menjadi sebuah kendala yang cukup berat. Hal tersebut dikarenakan guru SD tidak terbiasa menulis atau melakukan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas. Guru harus membuat dalam memenuhi kewajibannya jika ingin naik golongan dan pangkat khususnya dari IV a ke IV b atau dari pangkat Pembina ke Pembina tingkat 1 ke atas. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini ialah menjadikan guru mampu membuat karya tulis ilmiah antara lain PTK agar mampu dimanfaatkan untuk pengembangan profesi. Permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh guru ialah bagaimana mengoptimalkan pembuatan penelitian tindakan kelas guru-guru SD di desa Geneng. Kegiatan pengabdian dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan workshop. Kegiatan menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi dan latihan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini mencapai target. Capaian tersebut ialah guru mampu menghasilkan penelitian tindakan kelas yang baik. Pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat diikuti oleh 25 guru. Ketercapaian target pelaksanaan pengabdian masyarakat diikuti oleh 25 guru dari target 30 guru. Sehingga, ketercapaian peserta 83% atau dapat dinilai baik. Simpulan dalam kegiatan ini ialah ketercapaian target materi yang telah direncanakan pada kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat dinilai baik. Kata kunci: PTK; guru SD; karya tulis ilmiah. AbstractBasic education is a school that has a strategic and fundamental role for nation building. Related to the implementation of education in elementary schools must be aimed at optimally supporting and achieving national education. The new regulation which requires the requirement to carry out Classroom Action Research for teachers as a condition for boarding a class is a considerable obstacle. This is because elementary school teachers are not used to writing or conducting Classroom Action Research. The teacher must make it in fulfilling his obligations if he wants to rise in class and rank especially from IV a to IV b or from the rank of coach to coach level 1 and above. The purpose of this activity is to make teachers able to make scientific papers including PTK so that they can be utilized for professional development. The problem faced by the teacher is how to optimize the making of classroom action research for elementary school teachers in Geneng Village. Service activities are carried out using a Workshop approach. The activity uses lecture, discussion and practice methods. The results of this activity reach the target. The achievement is that the teacher is able to produce good classroom action research. The implementation of community service was followed by 25 teachers. The achievement of the target of implementing community service was followed by 25 teachers from the target of 30 teachers. So, the participants' achievement is 83% or can be considered good. The conclusions in this activity are the achievement of material targets planned for this service activity can be considered good. Keywords: PTK; elementary school teacher; scientific writing

<p>The aims of this research are to know about the use of flashcards to improve the English Young Learners’ writing skills. English has four skills to be learned; they are listening, speaking, reading, and writing, and writing skill is the most difficult skill to be taught and learnt. Flashcards are one of the ways to improve the learners’ skill, especially EYL writing skill. The participants of this research are English Young Learners (EYL) in of the English Course at Gading Serpong, Tangerang. Classroom Action Research (CAR) was used as the method of the research and the English Young Learners’ (EYL) story paper are used as the instruments of the research. The results of the research are: (1) Most learners were excited when they are asked to see the colorful flashcard; (2) Learners who have good writing skill could make the story by completing the missing words and answer the questions then arrange the answer sentences well and (3) Learners who are not really master in writing, got some difficulties not only in completing the missing words but also answering then arranging the answer sentences well.</p>

The purposes of this research were to find out whether example non-example strategy can improve the students’ writing skill on descriptive, and to find out what factors influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill in writing descriptive text. This research was Classroom Action Research. This research was conducted in two cycles, which each cycle had three meetings. It was conducted from August 1st until August 31th.The researcher gathered the data in each cycles from observation checklist, field notes, interviews, and writing test. After analyzing the data, the researcher found that Example non-example strategy was able to improve the students’ writing skill of descriptive text through the process of comprehending the students, and assisting the students while they were writing. As the results, the students could improve their writing skill which involved the improvement of mean score of writing indicators; vocabulary, content/ideas, and organization. Moreover, it could be seen from the improvement of their mean score of basic score (56), test I (h62.5), and test II (79.4). Furthermore, the factors that influence the improvement of the students’ writing skill involved materials, media, and learning strategy. To sum up, the implementation of Example non-example strategy in teaching writing of descriptive text could provide positive results on their writing skill

This study is a classroom action research. The general objective of this study is improving students’ writing skill through outdoor activity. While the specific objective of this research are (1) whether or not outdoor activity can increase the students’ writing content of descriptive text of the second year of Mts Sudirman Kopeng  Getasan. (2) it describe whether the outdoor activity can improve  the students’ writing skill in developing paragraph. This classroom action research was conducted at MTs Sudirman Getasan. The procedure of the research consisted of planning, action, observing, and reflection. The observation during the process of English teaching and learning was helped by the collaborator. In this research,  the writer acted as a practitioner. The test was in the form of pre-test and post –test conducted in cycle 1, cycle 2, and cycle 3. The research result were: (1)  using outdoor activity as a method can improve students’ writing skill, its proved with the student’s improvement score. The mean score of the pre-test of the students was 57 (very poor) and the mean score of the post- test 70 (good). The mean of the post-Test is higher than the mean of the pre-Test ( 64.53>56.56), the mean of the post-test in cycle 2  is higher than mean of cycle 1 (70.59>64.53) and the mean of the post –Test cycle 3 is higher than cycle 2 (74.56>70.59). the proven result of the implementation was 75%. (2) The effectiveness of using outdoor activity in improving students’ writing skill is proved from the t-test and t-table in cycle 1 (9.67>2.042) which the score of t-test was higher than the score of t-table and the result of t-test and t-table in cycle 3 (15.11>2.042) also showed that the score of t-table.
