Considerations governing selection of power plants for yachts include determination of power for speed and performance desired. This, in turn, requires determination of the best compromise on shaft revolutions compatible with limitations of propeller diameter and possible effects of cavitation. The problem as to whether to use diesel or gasoline engines is also investigated. Curves are given which give general criteria for estimating power over a large range of speeds. Accessories including reverse gears, reduction gears, and their mode of control are discussed. Propeller design in reference to engine rating is investigated, it being pointed out that on many current engines a propeller sized for maximum power and revolutions will be much too small for the horsepower available at a continuous rating.

This chapter provides recommendations for conducting software reviews in software development environments. It is recommended that the software review process planning should consider three issues. These include: 1) decision on the selection of inputs, 2) a determination of the level of review meetings required, and 3) identifying the measurement metrics. For researchers, it is recommended that 1) future research should pay more attention to important relationships between software artefact characteristics and the use of supporting documents, 2) designing and conducting laboratory studies be done more realistically, 3) direct and indirect relationships between the use of inputs as predictors for software review performance, 4) the important relationships between the software artefact characteristics and meeting process factors, 5) meetings should be held when the artefact is complex, of large size and poor initial quality, 6) the use of previously reviewed software documents in relation to meeting process, 7) perceived contingency (motivation) is the most critical factor to meeting process, and 8) future studies should further concentrate on the use of previously reviewed software documents in combination with the implicit inputs, process, and performance.

This paper presents an analysis of the uncertainties in the determination of gas turbine health, which arise by using a method of Gas Path Analysis. This method uses field measurements to estimate, through a mathematical model of the gas turbine thermodynamic cycle, the characteristic geometric and performance parameters, which are indices of gas turbine health. The investigated sources of uncertainties are the inaccuracy of measurements and the necessity of fixing a priori a number of characteristic parameters. This fact implies that variations occurring on these parameters in the actual gas turbine cause an estimation error on the characteristic parameters used as problem variables. The analysis leads to the selection of the appropriate measurements to be used in the gas turbine health determination and identification of both the most critical measurements and parameters.

The article considers the features of pedagogical technology of professional self-determination of the choreographer’s personality during professional training. This paper states that one of the means of developing the pedagogical qualities of the student's personality in the professional training of a choreographer is the author’s pedagogical technology. We determine the relevance of the study of the pedagogical technology of professional self-determination of the choreographer during professional training by the influence of many objective and subjective factors and reveals a direct relationship between the specific historical situation in the country and the cultural needs of the population. That is why there is a need for scientific understanding of the above processes – their specifics, mechanisms, forms, methods, techniques, i.e. the entire technological chain. The article also states that no matter how perfect the technology is, it cannot take into account all the diversity of the creative process, so the unity of the technical component with the spiritual-personal and socio-pedagogical is necessary. In a living process, it is impossible to “separate” the technological subsystem, as all other components are interconnected. Therefore, it is necessary to abandon attempts to rigidly fix its scope. It is important to trace the “transition” of technology into the relationship between the subjects of the real process. Pedagogical skill is to find a technological solution for the development of the whole set of personality qualities. Methods of teaching choreographic disciplines, as a rule, are abstracted from specific concepts of personality. The construction of the technology of training choreographers involves the “selection” of those parts of the whole personality that are in the perspective of pedagogy. This means that the pedagogical interpretation of personality, having its own specifics, takes into account the knowledge of personality, which gives philosophy, psychology, sociology, but builds this knowledge as subordinates to the problems of pedagogical research. Keywords: choreographer, professional training, professional skill, technology, pedagogical technology, technological scheme, professional self-determination, pedagogical qualities of personality.

Concert and performance activity is an important component for future music teachers. It encourages them to analyse their needs, interests, inclinations. It contributes to the formation of personal significance, emotional confidence, ensures the independence of the performer in the process of professional training. Thus, the insufficient elaboration of the problem of preparation of a future music teacher for concert and performance activity becomes an actual one in the art educational process. The article is devoted to the problem of concert and performance activity of a future music teacher in the process of professional training. It reveals the principles of forming the readiness of a future teacher of music for concert and performance practice, analyses the research on this issue. The purpose of the article is to reveal the influence of the concert and performance activity as a kind of artistic creativity on the process of professional training of a future music teacher. The scope of research on this issue includes the definition of the most effective ways and methods of preparing future music teachers for concert and performance activity, as well as numerous aspects of the creative process in which the future musician-performer is involved. The methods and techniques of diagnosing the characteristics of an individual and his performance qualities are of particular importance. This allows identifying “problem issues” that require active pedagogical influence to overcome existing shortcomings. Universal approaches (systemic, axiological, competence) must be constantly combined with individual-personal, which takes into account the features (physiological, mental, ideological, etc.) that are specific to this person and that distinguish him from everyone else. The individual-personal approach is one of the most important tasks of studying the professional and spiritual formation of the person for the future music teacher. It defines the ability to create his / her own original musical world embodying the maintenance and values of a mussician-performer as the basic criterion of the readiness for professional concert and performance activity.
