Online business has been raised rapidly in recent times. This is a challenge for a web developer or web designer. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, job opportunities as web development are projected to grow by 27% from 2014 to 2024. But web course material provided at Vocational high School is still limited to basic material. We know that Vocational High Schools are formed to prepare graduates who are ready to work and become a solution to unemployment problem. A programmed, it is called “Pengabdian Pada Masyarakat”, gives a training to society, in our study case is Vocational high School Binakarya Mandiri 2 Bekasi. This training was held with online platform and attended by around 25 students. The results of this training are 1) e-commerce website products, 2) training modules, and 3) video tutorials. We can be concluded that this activity can support vocational students programming skills.

This training activity was held thanks to the collaboration of the Tarakanita School of Communication Science and Secretariat (STIKS Tarakanita) Jakarta with the Jakarta Marga Sejahtera Non-Governmental Organization. This activity was held to provide knowledge and training for young people from Marga Sejahtera NGOs. The youths from the NGO Marga Sejahtera are all high school and vocational high school graduates who have not yet found work. All of them are then gathered to be given various knowledge, skills, and attitudes which are expected to facilitate and assist them in finding work and work. The method used in this activity is training. While the speakers of this training are Tarakanita STIKS lecturers. There are also results obtained from this training are (1) participants have adequate knowledge about the world of work, (2) participants are skilled in preparing a letter of application and CV, (3) participants are skilled in accessing the information on job opportunities through various media including procedures for applying for jobs in a way online, (4) participants send applications to companies that open job vacancies according to participant specifications, and (5) participants have a good attitude and personal performance. Based on the evaluation of the participants both verbally and in writing at the end of the event, it was concluded that similar activity was highly recommended for job seekers, both a high school / vocational and graduate graduates. Because this activity is considered very helpful for each participant in preparing to get a jobABSTRAK:Kegiatan pelaltihan ini terselenggara berkat kerjasama Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Komunikasi dan Sekretari Tarakanita (STIKS Tarakanita) Jakarta dengan Lembaga Swadaya Masyarakat Marga Sejahtera Jakarta. Kegiatan ini diselenggarakan untuk memberika pengetahuan dan latihan bagi para pemuda dari LSM Marga Sejahtera. Para pemuda dari LSM Marga Sejahtera semuanya adalah lulusan SMU dan SMK yang belum mendapatkan pekerjaan. Mereka semua kemudian dikumpulkan untuk selanjutnya diberikan berbagai pengetahuan, keterampilan dan sikap yang diharapkan akan memudahkan dan membantu mereka dalam mencari pekerjaan dan bekerja. Metode yang dipakai dalam kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan. Sementara para narasumber pelatihan ini adalah para dosen STIKS Tarakanita. Ada pun hasil yang diperoleh dari pelatihan ini adalah (1) perserta mempunyai pengetahuan yang memadai tentang dunia kerja, (2) peserta terampil menyusun surat lamaran dan CV, (3) peserta terampil mengakses informasi peluang kerja melalui berbagai media termasuk tata cara melamar pekerjaan secara online, (4) peserta mengirim lamaran ke perusahaan yang membuka lowongan pekerjaan sesuai spesifikasi peserta, dan (5) peserta memiliki sikap dan personal performance baik. Berdasarkan evaluasi dari peserta baik secara lisan maupun tertulis diakhir acara, disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan yang serupa sangat direkomendasikan bagi para pencari kerja, baik lulusan SMU/SMK maupun lulusan sarjana. Vocational High School (SMK) is held as a secondary school from SMP / MTs in accordance with their talents, interests and abilities in order to meet the needs / job opportunities that are and will develop in the area. Maximizing the potential of vocational schools can be done by carrying out the public relations function to shape the image and reputation of the school so that it is able to compete with high schools (SMA). Especially in SMK N 4 Pekanbaru which has great potential to be socialized to the public. The book material for students can be said as a good book if they have fulfilled some criteria of good book. In line with this fact, this research has purpose to analyze the students‟ view on criteria of good book for online business and marketing. Besides, it also searches the students‟ needs of local wisdom material. The design is descriptive qualitative and the data is collected through observation, questionnaire, and interview. The observation was done through observe the recent english book from ministry of education and culture. The questionnaire was consisted of 22 questions and given to 36 students of online business and marketing program. The interview was given to English teacher and the students to get information about the recent english book, it also used to know the criteria of good book based on their perception. The preliminary research found that the recent english book material was not fulfilled some criteria of good book and local wisdom material was not found in this book. From this finding, need analysis is needed to know the criteria of good book based on students‟ view. The result finds that most of them need suitable english book material with the goal of their program, so it is in line and support the goal of vocational high school to prepare students in working world. Based on the finding from need analysis, English book material which is suitable with students need has to be developed. Moreover, this book should be based on local wisdom to promote local culture.

The aim of this study was to describe students' motivation to choose Fashion Design at 3 Malang Vocational High School. This study used descriptive with quantitative approach. The number of respondents in this study were 69 students that consisted of X and XI grade students in Fashion Design. Intrinsic and extrinsic motivations used as sub variables in this study. To collect data, researches used questionnaire, that consisted of 33 questions. The validity test showed 0,495 and reliability testing showed 0,901, it means the research questionnaire was valid and reliable. The results showed that the sub-variable intrinsic motivation was 71 percent, it means students intrinsic motivation influence by interests from themselves, and they developed their own talent to gain their carier in the future. In sub-variable extrinsic motivation was 66,7 percent, it means students extrinsic motivation influence by moral and material support from the family environment, support from the surrounding community and associates, a school environment has a good image, discipline, facilities, and infrastructure, and then in the form of job opportunities and certificates that will be obtained after graduate. Based on the result, it can be concluded that intrinsic motivation has a higher effect on student than extrinsic motivation. For better motivation for next new students, research sugested that Vocational High School must have good system to know the student motivation to choose special field before they jump in to Vocational High School. Psychology test can used to detect student talent and motivation in the future. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan tentang motivasi siswa dalam memilih Kompetensi Keahlian Desain Fesyen di SMK Negeri 3 Malang. Rancangan penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Jumlah responden yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 69 siswa yang terdiri dari siswa kelas X dan XI Kompetensi Keahlian Desain Fesyen. Terdapat dua sub variabel yang digunakan pada penelitian, yaitu motivasi intrinsik dan motivasi ekstrinsik. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen penelitian berupa angket yang terdiri dari 33 item pernyataan. Uji validitas diperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 0,495 dan uji reliabilitas diperoleh nilai sebesar 0,901, yang menunjukkan bahwa angket penelitian valid dan reliabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada sub variabel motivasi intrinsik diperoleh nilai sebesar 71 persen, hal itu berarti bahwa motivasi intrinsik siswa dipengaruhi oleh minat dari dalam diri siswa sendiri dan siswa ingin mengembangkan bakat yang dimiliki agar dapat mewujudkan cita-cita di masa depan. Pada sub variabel motivasi ekstrinsik diperoleh nilai sebesar 66,7 persen, hal itu berarti bahwa motivasi ekstrinsik siswa dipengaruhi oleh dukungan moral dan materi yang berasal dari lingkungan keluarga, dukungan yang berasal dari masyarakat sekitar dan teman bergaul, lingkungan sekolah yang memiliki citra, kedisiplinan, sarana dan prasarana yang baik, serta imbalan berupa peluang kerja dan sertifikat yang akan diperoleh setelah lulus. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi intrinsik memiliki pengaruh yang lebih tinggi terhadap siswa daripada motivasi ekstrinsik. Guna mengetahui motivasi yang lebih baik bagi siswa baru berikutnya, peneliti menyarankan bahwa SMK Negeri 3 Malang sebaiknya memiliki sistem yang baik untuk mengetahui motivasi siswa dalam memilih kompetensi keahlian sebelum siswa terjun ke sekolah. Salah satunya yaitu dengan mengadakan tes psikologi, agar dapat digunakan untuk mendeteksi motivasi dan bakat siswa di masa depan.

AbstrakArtikel ini menjelaskan tentang kegiatan dari pengabdian masyarakat sebagai salah satu kegiatan TRI DHARMA perguruan tinggi. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilakukan oleh dosen terhadap masyarakat yang membutuhkan terutama masyarakat diluar kampus. Pada kesempatan ini dilakukan kegiatan untuk para siswa Sekolah Menegah Kejuruan yang ada di Medan yaitu SMK Negeri 2 Medan dan SMK DWIWARNA Medan, kedua mitra ini memiliki jurusan menggambar bangunan/teknik. Masalah yang ada saat ini pada mitra adalah penerapan prinsip disain didalam kegitan menggambar bangunan belum optimal. Untuk itu solusi yang ditawarkan adalah mengadakan pelatihan untuk membekali para siswa ketrampilan menggambar lewat pendekatan disain. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini adalah mengadakan sesi pelatihan dengan modul pelatihan CAD dan 3D Modelling dengan jadwal yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi sekolah. Kegiatan ini merupakan transfer ilmu pengetahuan di bidang CAD dan 3D Modelling yang juga dipelajari dan digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran di Departemen Arsitektur USU. Oleh karena itu pengetahuan ini diberikan dalam bentuk pelatihan agar dapat menambah wawasan dalam penguasaan teknologi terkini.Kata kunci: SMK, Pelatihan, Menggambar BangunanAbstractThis article described the activities of community service as one of the activities of Three university’s obligations. This devotional activity was done by lecturers to the community in need, especially the community outside of the campus. On this occasion, there were activities for Vocational High School students in Medan, SMK Negeri 2 Medan and SMK DWIWARNA Medan, both partners have building / engineering drawing major. The current problem with partners was the application of design principles in drawing the building which had not been optimal yet. For that case, the solution offered was conducting the training to equip the students with drawing skills through design approach. The method of implementation of this activity was holding a training session with CAD and 3D Modeling training modules with a schedule associated to the school conditions. This activity was a transfer of science in the field of CAD and 3D Modeling which was also studied and used in the learning process at the Department of Architecture USU. Therefore this knowledge was given in the form of training in order to add insight in the mastery of the latest technology.Keywords: Vocational High School (SMK), Training, Building Drawing
