It is not easy to come by money however, money can easily ‘leave' one's possession if not properly managed. Money management skills are therefore important skills for life especially in the youthful days as wealth creation is not entirely about how hardworking an individual is but factors such as his/her ability to understand how money works and apply its management principles are of essence. Savings play an integral aspect of an individual’s financial management skills since it is the bedrock of personal financial success. Savings is not just about setting money aside for future use but also has to do with keeping anything of economic value. Savings are securing assurance today for tomorrow's uncertainties. This paper sought to examine the habit of savings among the college students. The result indicated that the majority of the college students do not save as a result of certain contributory factors such as meager salaries and economic hardships. Also, the majority of the college students do not have definite financial management plans such as savings as a result of inadequate financial literacy. The study concluded on the need for public education on key money management skills such as savings which is a recipe for wealth creation.

The goal of this study was to see how financial inclusion affects gender-based poverty in Nigeria. Commercial bank branches, deposits, and borrowers were the proxy for financial inclusion. The poverty index was used to measure poverty reduction. The World Development Indicator (WDI) and the CBN Statistical Bulletin 2021 provided the data for this study. Finally, the study included the years 2002 to 2019. Financial inclusion reduces household poverty in Nigeria, according to the study, which used a VAR estimate. The coefficients of commercial bank branches and commercial bank deposits were (-0.004) and (-0.008), respectively, indicating that they had a negative influence on poverty reduction. Furthermore, the study discovered that having access to credit through a financial institution was crucial in lowering poverty in Nigeria over the study period. As a result, the report recommends that steps to promote the rule of law, particularly contract enforcement and financial regulatory inspection, be implemented, resulting in more financial inclusion and a reduction in poverty and income gaps, particularly between men and women. The benefits of financial inclusion must be made more widely known, particularly in rural regions, through promoting financial literacy among the poor through education, advertising, and traditional institutions.

Financial management is a key factor in achieving financial autonomy. Like other employees overseas, Filipino employees too are facing financial inadequacy, in one way or another. Thus, this descriptive study was conducted to assess the financial management of the personnel in the West Visayas State University Calinog Campus, Iloilo, Philippines. Using the duly validated and pilot-tested questionnaire, this study examined the three (3) aspects of financial management, namely: financial literacy; financial attitude; and financial management practices. It revealed that the respondents have an average level of financial literacy indicating that employees already possess knowledge in handling personal finances. The financial attitude of the respondents is relatively practical spenders as evident in "comparing prices when shopping for purchases" and "spending less than income".  As to financial management practices, most of the respondents put money in the bank in order to cope with the growing expenses of the respondents' children's education. At some point, some employees venture into investments such as livestock and business. Financial management program may be conducted to improve the economic and financial stability of the employees. Emphasis may center on budgeting, expenditure, and saving mechanisms to achieve financial literacy.

Financial Inclusion through Business Correspondents is not free from financial aberrations. On the basis of some cases the paper investigated into the types and frequency of the financial aberrations, which are incident on customers .The magnitude of shocks as perceived by the BC customers due to the financial process aberrations and irregularities were gauged on a Likert scale and was found to be significantly high. As these shocks have a bearing on financial resilience, the research further attempted to investigate whether awareness of dealing with the system and thereby increasing financial resilience could be developed through financial literacy programs. A longitudinal research design was adopted and 17-18% of the male and female respondents from each district were exposed to a financial literacy programme in this context as devised by the researchers. It was found that the administration of the program on poor BC customers had a significant positive effect on their awareness and therefore on their build-up of financial resilience. Int. J. Soc. Sc. This chapter analyzes how low- and moderate-income retirees utilize retirement savings, and how financially fragile they are, relying on survey data on public employees in North Carolina. We investigate whether retirees make systematic errors when they manage their assets so as to maintain their standards of living, and whether there are notable differences in financial management skills across subgroups. We also ask whether financial literacy is positively associated with lower rates of committing such errors and, and whether low-income households have lower levels of financial literacy leaving them likely to make poor financial decisions. We show that many retirees have no emergency cash, and one quarter maintain high-interest debt while leaving low-return funds in retirement saving plans. Suboptimal debt holding is associated with lower household income and lower financial literacy.
