There are conditions that increase an individual's risk of having a poor prognosis if infected with the COVID-19 virus, including heart disease. This condition can cause anxiety in heart failure patients and reduce the body's resistance. This study aims to identify the effect of guided imagery and health education on the anxiety of heart failure patients during the COVID 19 pandemic. The study used a Quasi Experiment. The number of samples was 62 respondents, given guided imagery relaxation and health education through booklets for 14 days. Statistical tests used Wilcoxon test and Ordinal Logistic Regression. The results showed that the level of anxiety before the intervention 61.3% moderate anxiety level and after the intervention 83.9% were not anxious. There was a significant effect between guided imagery and health education with anxiety levels (0.000). In conclusion, guided imagery relaxation and health education have an effect on decreasing the anxiety level of heart failure patients. This study recommends the need for further research on other therapies as nurse interventions in heart failure nursing care.  Key words: Anxiety; COVID-19; health education; heart failure; guided imagery

Introduction: Heart failure is a chronic medical condition that, despite the existing therapies, involves different aspects of an individual’s life (such as self-care capability). Illness perception is one of the most important variables which seem to improve the self-efficacy skills in chronic diseases such as heart failure. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the effect of family–centered empowerment model on the perception of the illness in heart failure patients. Methods: This interventional study was performed on 70 heart failure patients, assigned into control and experimental groups, admitted to the heart clinic of Hazrate Fatemeh hospital in Shiraz. After the convenience sampling, the patients were divided into two control and intervention groups by block randomization method. For experimental group, the family-centered empowerment modeling was done in 5 sessions. The research materials included demographic information and Brief illness perception questionnaires (B-IPQ). Data were analyzed using SPSS v.13 software. The statistical tests included Wilcoxon, Man-Whitney, and Independent t-test. P value less than 0.05 was considered as significant. Results: In this study, both control and experimental groups were homogeneous with demographic information. Before the intervention in different dimensions of illness perception, all of the values in both groups were the same; However, after the intervention, a significant difference was observed in all of the dimensions of illness perception, except for Time line; so that the most and the least changes were related to the concern (1.09 (0.61) vs 3 (0.93)), and identity dimensions (0.97 (0.61) vs 2.11 (0.67)), respectively. Conclusion: On the basis of the above, it can be concluded that this model modifies the illness perceptions in heart failure patients. Cardiac nurses should consider family- based empowerment model as a treatment for heart failure patients

Anxiety is a reaction to psychological disorders experienced by most patients in the face of surgery. Signs and symptoms are tremors, tachycardia, nervousness, insomnia, sweating and shortness of breath. The preoperative patient anxiety level is in the category of severe, moderate. If it is not handled properly, it will have a negative impact on the operation process that will be carried out by the patient so that relaxation measures are needed so that the patient can control his anxiety. One recommended therapy is guided imagery. Various studies have been conducted to prove its effect. The objective of this research was to analyze effects of guided imagery towards anxiety level decrease on pre-operative patients. This research used literature review design, database used were 2018- 2020 Google Scholar. Research populations were all research journals regarding effects of guided imagery and progressive relaxation towards anxiety level decrease on pre-operative patients using flow diagrams technique (data synthesis) thus n-value was obtained = 3. Analyzed journals result showed that there was a decrease in anxiety level of pre-operative patients after guided was given. Guided imagery affected the decrease of anxiety level on pre-operative patients.

PURPOSE: Patients preparing to undergo surgery should not suffer needless anxiety. This study aimed to evaluate anxiety levels on the day before surgery as related to the information known by the patient regarding the diagnosis, surgical procedure, or anesthesia. METHOD: Patients reported their knowledge of diagnosis, surgery, and anesthesia. The Spielberger State-Trait Anxiety Inventory (STAI) was used to measure patient anxiety levels. RESULTS: One hundred and forty-nine patients were selected, and 82 females and 38 males were interviewed. Twenty-nine patients were excluded due to illiteracy. The state-anxiety levels were alike for males and females (36.10 ± 11.94 vs. 37.61 ± 8.76) (mean ± SD). Trait-anxiety levels were higher for women (42.55 ± 10.39 vs. 38.08 ± 12.25, P = 0.041). Patient education level did not influence the state-anxiety level but was inversely related to the trait-anxiety level. Knowledge of the diagnosis was clear for 91.7% of patients, of the surgery for 75.0%, and of anesthesia for 37.5%. Unfamiliarity with the surgical procedure raised state-anxiety levels (P = 0.021). A lower state-anxiety level was found among patients who did not know the diagnosis but knew about the surgery (P = 0.038). CONCLUSIONS: Increased knowledge of patients regarding the surgery they are about to undergo may reduce their state-anxiety levels.

Healthy lifestyle is an indicator and influence on health problems. Self-management in dealing with this must be done productively. When uric acid is produced in excess and the processing of uric acid is decreased, uric acid levels in the blood are higher. To overcome this, non-pharmacological treatment can be done by consuming bay leaves boiled water. In addition, health education is also needed. Health education is one of the effective nursing interventions to increase awareness and knowledge. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of uric acid health education and drinking bay leaf boiled water to control gout. The research method used is pre-experimental design with pre-posttest design approach. The population was 60 respondents. The sampling method included home visits to gout sufferers. The sample was 22 respondents. Wilcoxon test was used for statistical tests. The results of the pre-posttest showed the P value was 0.001, which is less than 0.05. In other words, health education and consumption of bay leaf water effectively reduce uric acid levels. This research is recommended for the whole community because this intervention has minimal side effects, materials and tools are easy to obtain, and cost-effective so that it can be applied independently
