Hygiene awareness plays an important role in preventing various communicable diseases like diarrhea. Intervention based researches should be conducted widely to address the issue of sanitation and hygiene.  Self-help group members of rural area are focused as they are the best ambassadors in the villages to create awareness.  Before the implementation of the module through workshop, pretest was conducted to assess their hygiene awareness.  Later workshop was conducted and posttest was also done. A self-prepared interview schedule was used to collect data. It was found that there is significant difference in the pre and post test results.  The knowledge and awareness of the respondents improved after the module implementation. All the respondents after the workshop mentioned that they would adopt better personal hygienic practices in order to promote a healthy life.

ABSTRACT Background: Treatment gap for mental health care in low- and middle-income (LAMI) countries is very large, and building workforce using the locally available resources is very much essential in reducing this gap. The current study is a preliminary work toward this direction. Materials and Methods: A single group pre- and post-design was considered for assessing the feasibility of Mental Health Orientation (MHO) Program for Self-Help Group members. Assessment of participants’ MHO using Orientation Towards Mental Illness (OMI) scale was undertaken at three levels: baseline assessment before the intervention, after completing 2 days orientation program, and 6 weeks later. Results: Analysis of data resulted in statistically significant mean scores in the domains of areas of causation (F[1.41, 40.7] = 21.7, P < 0.000, ηp 2 = 0.428), perception of abnormality (F[1.27, 36.8] = 15.8, P< 0.000, ηp 2 = 0.353), treatment (F[1.42, 41.3] = 34.8, P < 0.000, ηp 2 = 0.546), and after effect (F[1.36,39.4] = 26.7, P < 0.000, ηp 2 = 0.480). Although the overall mean scores of all the domains of OMI were found to be statistically significantly different, there was no significant difference in the mean scores between post and follow-up assessments on areas of causation (µd = 1.27, P = 0.440) and treatment (µd = 1.00, P = 0.156). Conclusion: Overall, the findings of our study demonstrate that brief MHO program can exert a beneficial effect on bringing about significant change in the orientation of the participants toward mental illness but need to be refreshed over time to make the impact of the program stay longer.

The authors' research activities connected information and communication technologies affecting teaching methods in higher education. A total of 201 respondents studying Programming 2 participated in this research. Two hypotheses were created, as well as a pre-test (ensuring that the initial condition of equality among the group members was met) and a post-test (measuring the shift of knowledge among the respondents of the same group). An analysis based on the t-test showed the presence of a statistically significant difference among the male respondents with regard to the test results. H1 hypothesis was accepted. No statistically significant difference was detected among the female respondents, so the H2 hypothesis was rejected. Our results showed that major difference have been found only in male population, which is interesting since female respondents tend to use LMS systems more often and since male respondents are more frequently in computer games activities.

The sample of this research is 14 respondents in control group and 14 respondents in intervention group. Results: There was significant difference value of quality of life pre-test rather than post-test in the intervention group, p=0.033, and there was no significant difference in the control group before and after intervention, p=0.190. The comparison between post-test intervention and post-test control group showed that there was significant difference of quality of life value. P value in intervention group was 0.002, while p value for the control group was 0.221.Conclusions: There was influence by giving self-help group (SHG) therapy towards the quality of life of cancer patients that have palliative treatment. The patient can expand the social networking, to accept the information, get the emotional supporting from their own group.

Video captioning is a useful tool for language learning. In the literature, video captioning has been investigated by many studies and the results indicated that video captioning may foster vocabulary learning. Most of the previous studies have investigated the effect of full captions on vocabulary learning. One of the key aspects of vocabulary learning is pronunciation. However, the use of mobile devices for teaching pronunciation has not been investigated conclusively. Therefore, this paper attempts to examine the effect of implementing keyword video captioning on L2 pronunciation using mobile devices. Thirty-four Arab EFL university learners participated in this study and were randomly assigned to two groups (key-word captioned video and full captioned video). The study is an experimental one in which pre- and post-tests were administered to both groups. The results indicated that keyword captioning is a useful mode to improve learner’s pronunciation. The post test results indicate that there was no statistically significant difference between the two modes of captioning on vocabulary learning. However, learners at keyword video captioning performed better that full video captioning.

Failure of therapy is a result of bad adherence  medication. Non-adherence to therapy is a major factor that is suspected to result in uncontrolled blood pressure in hypertensive patients resulting in more serious complications. Therefore it is important to increase the adherence rate of treatment in patients with hypertension in the treatment process. For this reason, the need for interventions to improve  adherence  with several aspects that can be changed. This study uses One Group Pretest-Posttest Design using 100 samples. Data derived from questionnaires containing 25 items of adherence to therapy, 5 items of knowledge, 4 items of trust, 3 items of motivation, 10 items of family support with nonparametric statistical tests used were Mc Nemar test. Mc Nemar test results indicate that there is a significant difference between adherence at the pre-test and at the post-test after counseling with a significance value (p = 0,000). The results also showed that there was a difference in knowledge with a significance value (p = 0.001), motivation with a value (p = 0.031) and family support with a value (p = 0,000). The education with counseling about knowledge, trust, motivation and family support is effective in increasing compliance. There are other changeable factors such as lifestyle education, patient doctor relationships, and the use of smartphone applications for self-reported therapy can improve adherence in patients thereby minimizing therapy failure. Other educational methods that can be used besides counseling are counseling and dissemination of social media information.

The present study was an attempt to identify the impediments faced by SHGs under Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP). A total of 90 women self help group members as respondents were selected from Amreli district of Gujarat. The study findings revealed that the self help group women mainly encountered with the lack of knowledge in record maintenance. Their dependency on family male member was another impediment in solving money problems. Handling of bank account in which SHG Women were unaware of the rules has continuation of project and its expansion in other villages by establishing new SHG and addition of new activities have been largely suggested by most SHG-women. Although they were found not competent in performing bank formalities, yet their co-ordination among members and interpersonal trust were intact. Internal loaning and loaning through bank, clashes in their loan taking time, lack of time for meeting, dependency on members of family, and lack of marketing information needed major reforms as suggested by SHG members.
