Digital information resources are fetching more and more imperative for the academic community. The increase of technical colleges in Andhra Pradesh are quiet noteworthy and in advance of various states of India. Digital resources are measured as imperative resources of teaching, research and training. Consequently, digital resources play a important role in academic libraries as they are mostly jingle for the support of academic brilliancy and research. For these research questionnaires were distributed to the faculty members of 10 selected engineering colleges in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Accordingly, 400 questionnaire distributed amongst the faculty members of 10 engineering colleges. Out of 400, only 336 questionnaires were received back that is the overall response rate is 84%.. 27.98% of the faculties are utilize digital resources for bring up to date Knowledge. It is also found from the study that preponderance of the faculty members were satisfied with available digital resources.

ABSTRACT Aim The aim of this study was to assess the level of knowledge, awareness and attitude about research ethics and research ethics committees (RECs) among dental faculties. Materials and methods This cross-sectional questionnaire study incorporated a self administered questionnaire. Descriptive, Chi-square and logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the data. Results The overall response rate to the study was 85%. More than half were familiar with research ethics, principles and functions of the research ethics committee. Though there were some faculties whose attitude regarding research ethics principle was not optimal. Conclusion The present study revealed a broad acceptance among the faculties acceptance toward RECs and training in research ethics, though there existed certain gap in knowledge about research among the faculties. Clinical significance This will help us to understand the knowledge, awareness and attitudes of dental faculties toward research ethics, which will help the institutional officials to develop better educational programs in the field of research ethics in order to help them conduct better research henceforth. Despite the scientific and technological development, libraries of Jordanian universities suffer from an obvious lack of digital information resources, because for many reasons, the most important of these is the non-application of intellectual property legislation (IPL) related to these resources. This study investigated the reality of the application of intellectual property legislation related to digital information resources at the libraries of public universities in Jordan. The population study consisted of all employees of departments of digital information resources. The study sample was (74) employees. Texts of regulations for the intended libraries and the Jordanian copyright law No. (22) for the year (1992) were reviewed and analyzed. In addition, a questionnaire was developed regarding the actual application of intellectual property legislation relating to digital resources at the university libraries in Jordan. Results revealed that the application of IP legislation relating to digital resources at the libraries of public universities in Jordan was moderate and that the supervising to the libraries of universities from the National Library regarding the protection of intellectual property rights of digital resources was moderate. The study recommended the application of intellectual property legislation related to digital resources in the intended libraries, this could be achieved through including intellectual property legislation in the regulations of public services in the intended libraries, to provide for the terms of protecting IP rights for digital resources, improving the legislation, developing of the Jordanian copyright law to be compatible with digital information resources, providing the necessary support for these libraries, and emphasizing the role of the National Library.

This article discusses the characteristics of various reference digital resources of the modern humanities. We have identified three main digital resources: a digital library resource, a multimedia digital system, and a multimedia encyclopedic database. These important resources are involved in creating a modern information society. In this context, the Ukrainian Literary Encyclopedia of the Shevchenko Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the creation of an independent multimedia encyclopedic database are considered.

In England several initiatives are underway in social work education, among which are changes to application and training processes, and the development of shorter employment-based post-graduate qualifying routes. Here trainees are placed with social work employers (local authorities), receive substantial funding compared to other students, and local authority staff are closely engaged with higher education providers. This article presents and analyses the views of the first and second cohorts of trainees undertaking the Step Up to Social Work programme. Data were collected by online survey, administered at four time points. The overall response rate at each of the four points was high; ranging from 64 per cent to 78 per cent for Cohort 1 and 77 per cent to 83 per cent for Cohort 2. Comparison of data across cohorts revealed satisfaction with the training and the Step Up initiative but levels of satisfaction were increased among Cohort 2, which may be attributable to changes made following the first cohort’s experiences. The findings from this comparison of trainees may usefully inform other studies and provision of employment-based routes in social work education and the satisfaction levels achieved may be ones to which other programmes may wish to aspire.

The purpose of this paper is to assess the use of electronic information resources and facilities among Engineering Scholars in Private Universities in Nigeria using Bells University of Technology, Ota, Nigeria as a Case Study. Scientific investigation involves careful and proper adoption of research design, use of standardized tools and texts in identifying adequate sample techniques for data analysis. In this survey a questionnaire was adapted, tested and employed to collect primary data of academics from Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical, Telecommunications, Electrical-electronics and Computer engineering Departments of Bells University of Technology, Ota Ogun State, Nigeria. In all, a total of forty-two faculty members, associate and research staff participated from the college of Engineering. The questionnaires were distributed among forty-two faculty members from the six departments of the college of engineering, out of which 40 were returned and found to be valid, making a response rate 95.23%. Among the 40 respondents, 2 faculties do not use electronic information resources. Thus, response rate is reduced to 38 (95.00%). In addition individual interview and observation methods were also used to collect the required information. The results correspond with previous studies conducted in other countries. The Engineers still stick to the printed information sources, but they pay good attention to electronic resources. Most of them have access to computer and internet at the office and home. They are regular users of a variety of electronic technologies. Although faced with some challenges. Thus, the applied scientists perceive that modern technology made their work easier. The study focused only on the engineering faculty in the first private university of technology in Nigeria. The survey could be replicated among other faculties such as humanities and or in other private universities in Nigeria and on a larger sample for generalization. Keeping in view the positive trend of engineering towards modern technology, universities and libraries should be adequately funded to provide electronic resources and facilities in the science and applied science discipline. Special training programmes for engineering scholars should also be organized. This is the first study on this topic in a private university of technology in Nigeria. The results can also be used to design services and facilities in academic libraries and information centers in private universities and universities of technology in Nigeria and in other developing countries.

The current analytical survey investigates the utilization and effectiveness of digital libraries in 51 self-financed engineering colleges affiliated to the VTU in the Karnataka, India. The research paper is based on survey of final year BE students and faculty members have been chosen for the study. Questionnaire tool was used to gather data. Findings shows that the Utilization of digital information resources for overall purposes is found to a large extent among respondents with mean value of 2.28±0.89. An impressive 88.9% of respondents are of the opinion that digital library services are superior to conventional library services. The digital library utilization and its purpose are correlated using Pearson correlation and its significant value r=0.489, p=0.000<0.01 proves that user dependency on digital information resources is positively increasing in the respondents’ activities and has an impact on their academic pursuits.

India has always been rich in knowledge from ancient times which is passed on from one generation to another. The method of passing knowledge is different in different regions of India. Due to huge advancement in ICT, there has been astronomical growth of digital resources. These resources are popular among students and researchers; hence libraries spend so much on them. Unfortunately, accessibility and use of these resources by future generations depends on technology which very rapidly evolves and changes. The fragile nature of digital resources makes its accessibility dependable on technology which is rapidly evolving. Hence, access to such resources for future users is a huge task for libraries. To use this information in daily life, we perform conservation techniques. In this research paper, we are exploring the different preservation and conservation techniques for traditional documents as well as digital resources used in selected libraries of New Delhi, India.
