 The purpose of this study is to find the most relevant practice of supervision to manage Sharia Compliance Risk in Indonesian Islamic Bank based on the existing literature. The standard doctrinal approach is used to analyse, examine and evaluate the practice of Islamic banking supervision in Indonesia and Islamic banking in Malaysia for comparative purposes. The results revealed that the prior study on Sharia risk rating is applicable to manage Sharia Compliance Risk in Islamic Banks and their factors meet the Basel, AAOOIFI, and IFSB standards. However, there is no assessment made on evaluating the quality of supervision by Sharia Supervisory Board (SSB) members. Thus the study suggested the inclusion of additional factors on the performance of SSB. For Islamic Banking in Indonesia, this sharia risk rating approach can be combined with applicable internal and external risk rating techniques, to provide the promising quality of service and ensure that the offering of various products and services complies with Sharia rules and principles

The marketing strategy to be engaged with customer of an Islamic bank must be concerned with its ability to gain a competitive advantage and establish a strong competitive position without neglecting an Islamic business ethic. Customer engagement (CE) in Islamic bank does not take any matter of competing on product and prices, but rather in stressing quality of the services they provide appealing customers conscience. This research attempts to enhance understanding of CE related in its role to increase the quantity and loyalty of Islamic banks customers with the Islamic business ethics point of view. This is a qualitative research that develops customer engagement concept that relevant to be applied in Islamic banking by collecting some of CE theories regarding the CE approach through relationship marketing and analyze them with Islamic business ethic overview. CE in Islamic banking has to be relied with Sharia’s law. The main point of CE in Islamic banking is not only to have a good relationship with the customer and be a brotherhood, but also to reach the Islamic banking purposes.

Objective - The development of Islamic banks in Indonesia requires a new strategy. The size of the population of Indonesia is a potential market for Islamic banks to target religious and non-religious customers and implement quality innovation to create value-based services to support the competitiveness of regional economies. This may improve the standard and quality of living. Specifically, this study investigated the influence of Islamic banking service quality dimensions to consumer satisfaction, word-of-mouth communication and loyalty. Methodology/Technique - This study was conducted in Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, which is an Indonesian province that has a fairly a rapid rate of development of Islamic banking. The study focused on 191 people. Data collection was done by observation and interviews using questionnaires. Findings - Using Partial Least Squares, the resultsdemonstrates the effects of variable compliance, empathy, and value proposition quality on overall satisfaction. This showed that overall satisfaction influences word-of-mouth communication and loyalty. This indicates that both the religious market consumers and the floating market consumers desire the establishment of a strong emotional bond between the Islamic bank, customers and shareholders that are developed together in the face of business risks and share profits fairly and honestly, in accordance with the principles of Islamic law. Furthermore, they want employees to be more empathetic and respond individually to customers. Novelty - The study suggest that a strategy be created in relation to competitiveness in Islamic banking in Banjarmasin to improve the quality of service-based value, and to increase the cultivation of religious customers as well as penetrating the floating market segment. The issue of shariah compliance is increasingly important, given that Islamic finance is always challenged by demand from market participants to be innovative and business oriented (eg. offering new instruments and products), as conventional financial does. This fact can encourage the Islamic financial position further improve. On the one hand they should accommodate the demand of customers that may be contrary to shariah principles, but on the other hand Islamic banks are strictly bound by shariah compliance. This paper will focus on the importance of applying aspects of shariah compliance in Islamic banking.In various opinions, the meaning of shariah compliance in Islamic banks is “the application of Islamic principles, shariah and traditions in financial transactions and banking and other related business”. Shariah is one of the indicators of Islamic disclosure to ensure the adherence of Islamic banks to shariah principles. Furthermore, at the operational level, shariah compliance is compliance to the Dewan Syariah Nasional which is the embodiment of shariah principles and rules that must be adhered in Islamic banking.Some provisions that can be used to assess shariah compliance within Islamic financial institutions are: First, contract used for the collection and distribution of funds in accordance with the priciples of shariah and the rules of shariah. Second, Zakat funds is calculated and paid, managed in accordance with the rules and principles of shariah. Third, All transactions and economic activities are reported fairy in accordance with applicable shariah accounting standards. Fourth, the work environment and corporate culture in accordance with shariah. Fift, business that are financed do not conflict with shariah. Sixthly, there is Shariah Supervisory Board (DPS) as a shariah director for the overall operational activities of Islamic banks. Seventh, the source of funds comes from a legitimate and lawful source according to shariah.Related to the implementation mechanisme of shariah compliance, there are two underlying concept both in the context of the fulfillment of accuntability horizontally and transcendental. First, The concept of shariah review must be done by DPS to conduct supervision on shariah compliance. Second, the concept of shariah internal review, Islamic banking as one of internal audit function. If the optimazation of the implementation of shariah compliance aspect in Islamic banking is a necessity, so that the impact of Islamic bank can be the only option for the society to save and do the financing.

The purpose of this study was to determine usury behavior in the Housing Loan or Credit in Islamic banks and to determine the application of the existing contract system in Housing Loans in Islamic banks using the dramaturgy method. The data used in this study is primary data, where researchers conducted interviews directly with the Bank BTN Syariah KCPS Ciputat, a member of the Sharia Supervisory Board and one of the customers who used a House Ownership Credit product at an Islamic bank. The results of this study can be concluded that the front stage that the bank shows to the public is in accordance with the back stage that the bank does not show to the public and Bank BTN Syariah KCPS Ciputat conducts its business in accordance with Islamic law and the fatwa of the National Sharia Council. So that in this study Bank BTN Syariah KCPS Ciputat does not have usury in its business.

This study aims to analyze service quality of Islamic Banking in Jakarta. Data were randomly obtained from metropolitan customers with the CARTER approaches, which comprises of Compliance, Assurance, Reliability, Tangibles, Empathy, and Responsiveness used to determine customer satisfaction index and importance performance analysis. Although the overall result showed that metropolitan customers of Islamic banks are satisfied, gaps were found on attributes of the services provided. Therefore, continuous improvement is needed to ensure the proper use of information technology (e-Banking), the ability of banks in responding to problems and complaints quickly, and the hospitality of employees while attending to customers.

Abstract: The rapid development of the number of islamic banks should be balanced with the availability of infrastructure to carry out daily operational practices. The operational tools include hardware as like as representative office, computerized system, reliable human resources and software as like as method, culture and financial and islamic banking knowledge. In terms of development of Islamic finance is the paper "Alternative Calculation of Return Shahibul Mal on Mudharabah Scheme on Bank Syariah" was written. During this calculation of return shahibul mal has not been standardized in a formula, thus causing two serious effects. First, in the theoretical level, the formula has not yet created a difficulty. Secondly, in practical level, the formula is not impressive enough to recalculate the complexity of return calculations obtained by shahibul mall, causing laziness of the community using the services of islamic bank. This paper using mathematical and arithmetic equations with the help of modeling made by the author to refine and improve the method of calculation that has been available. The purpose of this paper is to create a standard formula that facilitates the calculation of return earned by a shahibul mal in a mudaraba scheme in a islamic bank.

The purpose of this study is to see the level of marketing effectiveness carried out by Bank BNI Syariah using social media Instagram. The rapid development of Instagram in Indonesia has made Bank Negara Indonesia Syariah actively use this social media as a forum for promotion on Instagram under the account name @ bni.syariah. So it is recorded that as of January 2019 the @ bni.syariah account has the most followers or followers of 37.8 thousand. Then followed by the account @banksyariahmandiri 36.4 thousand followers, @brisyariah 32.5 thousand followers, @ bank.muamalat 25.7 thousands followers, @bankbjbsyariah 8,095 followers, @bankmegasyariah 5,619 followers, @hababankaceh 5,399 followers, @bank_syariahbukopin 2,736 followers, and @ panindubaisyariah.bank 263 followers. Instagram is effectively used as a marketing medium for Islamic banks, especially for BNI Syariah, which is effectively used as a media for promotion and communication media with BNI Syariah customers. With the existence of Instagram as a marketing medium for Islamic banks, in this case BNI Syariah is very helpful in introducing Islamic bank products and helping to increase BNI Syariah revenue itself. Although, currently Instagram social media is only used as a promotional media or the first media for BNI Syariah to introduce Islamic banking products and is also used as a medium of communication with active BNI Syariah customers. So that any complaints or problems, especially related to service, customers can immediately submit complaints to BNI Syariah via Instagram, and problems can be resolved according to the customer's needs.

Objective – Islamic Banks have a distinct advantage that is not only conduct a commercial operation, but to also conduct social operations. Therefore, Islamic Banks plays an important role in developing the Indonesian economy. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of internal and external factors that affect the profitability of Islamic Banks in Indonesia. Methodology/Technique – The methodology of this research is multiple regression. The object of this research is the Islamic banking industry in Indonesia. Internal factors include size, liquidity, asset quality, management, and efficiency ratio. External factors include interest rate and inflation. Return on Assets is used to measure profitability. The monthly data is collected from the financial reports of Islamic Banks between 2011 to 2016. Findings – The findings show that size, liquidity, assets quality, management ratio, interest rate and inflation lead to a greater Return on Assets (profitability) in Islamic Banks in Indonesia. Efficiency however does not have a significant effect on profitability of Islamic Banks in Indonesia. Novelty – Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that the Islamic banking industry can use those variables to improve the profitability of Islamic banks in the future. In addition, there are two variables that affect the profitability of Islamic banking industry. For the Islamic banking industry should anticipate the movement of inflation and interest to improve the profitability of Islamic banks. Type of Paper: Empirical paper. This paper’s primary objective is to identify the relative importance of various Islamic financial products, in theory and in practice, by examining the financing records of the Bank Islam Malaysia (Berhad) and the Bahrain Islamic Bank. Currently, seven available Islamic financing products are considered viable alternatives to interest-based conventional contracts: mudarabah (trust financing), musharakah (equity financing), ijarah (lease financing), murabahah (trade financing), qard al-hassan (welfare loan), bay` bi al-thaman al-ajil (deferred payment financing), and istisna` (progressive payments). Among these financial products, mudarabah and musharakah are the most distinct. Their unique characteristics (at least in theory) make Islamic banks and Islamic financing viable alternatives to the conventional interest-based financial system. The question before us is to determine the extent of mudarabah and musharakah in Islamic financing in practice. The data are as follows: the average mudarabah is 5% of total financing, and the average musharakah is less than 3%. The combined average of mudarabah and musharakah for the two Islamic banks is less than 4% of the total finance and advances. The average qard al- hassan is about 4%, while istisna` does not yet exist in practice. Murabahah is the most popular and dominates all other modes of Islamic financing. The average use of murabahah is over 54%. When the bay` bi al-thaman al-ajil is added to the murabahah, the percentage of total financing is shown to be 2.68%. This paper also explores some possible reasons why these two Islamic banks appear to prefer murabahah to mudarabah and musharakah.

This research discusses in detail the theoretical aspect of the quality standards of banking services of traditional Islamic banks. The criterion of "Shari'ah Compliance" was added by the researcher to the importance and role of dealing with Islamic banks, the definition of this standard and its importance, how to test it for banks as well as how, without the legitimate commitment of these banks to what is classified as Islamic from the foundation, we focus on the importance of the existence of a legal commitment to any Islamic bank to achieve the quality of Islamic banking services of high quality in accordance with Islamic law and laws to achieve a high confidence in the customers who belong to him and deal with his Conspiracy.
