This study aims to, 1) determine the effect of the learning application identifier Balinese script towards student achievement in Balinese subjects in SDN 1 Kawan. 2) describe the students' responses regarding the learning of Wianjana scripts using the learning media of the introduction of Balinese script. As an application for learning Balinese alphabet recognition, a template matching technique is used. This type of research is quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) with a post-test-only control group design. The population of this study was all students of class III of SD Negeri 1 Kawan, totaling 42 students. The sampling technique in this study is used the saturated sampling technique because all members of the population are members of the sample. The sample consisted of class III-A of 21 students as the experimental group and class III B of 21 students as a control group. Data were collected using a multiple-choice test method and a questionnaire method. A multiple-choice test is given about 20 items. The research questionnaire used was a questionnaire with a gutter scale, where respondents answered questions about the number of answer choices provided. The data analysis method uses descriptive qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Hypotheses test using correlated sample t-tests. The results showed that 1) The application of learning the introduction of Balinese Script teaches students' learning achievement in the Balinese subject at SD Negeri 1 Kawan elementary school. This can be seen from the approval of the average score of students' learning achievement tests in the study group is greater than the control group. 2) The students' responses about the learning of Wianjana scripts using the learning media for the introduction of Balinese script were very positive. Can be seen from the results of the questionnaire which shows the figure of 88.57% with a very positive category.

Misconception is a conception of someone who is not in accordance with the scientific concept recognized by experts. Student’s who experience misconceptions will make mistakes in understanding concept’s and occur continuously. This study aimed to determine the percentage of reduction of students’ misconception in grade XI SMA 1 Palasa on salt hydrolysis by implementing contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach. This study was a quantitative descriptive study with the number of samples of 2 classes, that’s Class XI Science A consisted of 22 students, and Class XI Science B consisted of 22 students. The instrument test was a reasoned multiple choice test accompanied by a certainty of response index (CRI) consisting of 20 items. The results showed that the percentages of the average reduction of students’ misconceptions in the class XI science A and in the class XI science B on salt hydrolysis with contextual teaching and learning (CTL) approach were 19.6 and 9.8%, respectively.

This study was based on the assessment of model fit for 2016 and 2017 Biology multiple choice test items of the National Business and Technical Examination Board. It aimed at empirically investigating the model fit of the 1, 2, and 3 Parameter Logistic Models (PLM) of the examinations using Item Response Theory. Three research questions were raised with two hypotheses formulated and tested. The expo-facto research design was adopted for this study. The population for the study was 5,115 and 4600 candidates in public and private schools in south-south geo-political zone in Nigeria for 2016 and 2017 respectively. A total of 2000 students were sampled using Simple random sampling technique. The instruments for data collection was the NABTEB 2016 and 2017 Biology multiple choice question papers. The instruments are said to be valid and reliable as they were developed by a standard examination body. The responses from the instruments were used for data analysis. The results obtained from the study revealed that the 1, 2 and 3 PLM fit the 2017 and 2016 NABTEB May/June Biology multiple choice test items. However, the 1PLM provided a better fit to the data than other models. Based on the findings of the study, it was recommended among others that the examining bodies should make sure that model fit the data well before they are used to make inferences regarding the data.

This research method uses a qualitative descriptive method, the population in this study were students of class XI Sirajul Falah Vocational School in Bogor totaling 336 students. The sampling technique in this study uses a probability sampling technique. From this population 20% of the population was taken so that the total sample was 68 students. The instrument of this research is multiple choice test. Researchers ask students to answer multiple choice test on vocabulary instrument. Indicators used to determine vocabulary mastery, namely: 1) determining words that have collected meanings / synonyms, and 2) determining words that have contradictory meanings / antonyms. 3) determining words related to the spelling 4) determining the words related to grammar. This research was carried out using tests given directly to the subjects studied in the vocabulary mastery aspect given 20 questions in the form of multiple choice. Based on the data analysis, there are 68 respondents who were given 20 multiple choice questions with 4 indicators, namely the correct answer indicator and the rest are the number of respondents' wrong answers. Based on the data analysis shows that there are 84% of questions related to true and the remaining 16% of questions cannot be answered correctly by students. So it can be concluded that there is inflection vocabulary mastery on vocabulary test. Kata kunci:  Vocabulary Mastery; Multiple Choice Test

Poor academic performance of students in senior secondary school certificate examination in some commercial subjects may be attributed to ineffective scoring techniques used by classroom teachers and examination bodies. Therefore, this study compared the effectiveness of four scoring techniques in multiple-choice financial accounting in secondary schools of Osun state, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey and Quasi-experimental research designs. The sample consisted of 420 senior secondary schools (SSSII) Financial Accounting students selected using Multi-stage sampling technique. An instrument titled “Financial Accounting Multiple-Choice Test (FAMT)” with a reliability coefficient of .80 was administered to selected students. The marks obtained through standard conventional, logical weight, corrected and confidence scoring techniques were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Findings showed that the logical weight scoring technique had the highest mean value of 40.63 when compared with other scoring techniques. It was also revealed that there was a significant difference in the performance of students in Financial Accounting multiple-choice test items using the four scoring techniques (F(3,1676) =31.494, p<.05). Based on the findings, it was concluded that students performed better using the logical weight scoring technique in Financial Accounting multiple-choice test items and is the most effective scoring technique among others. The study recommended that a logical weight scoring technique should be encouraged and used in scoring Financial Accounting multiple-choice test items in secondary schools by examination bodies.   Received: 27 March 2021 / Accepted: 29 April 2021 / Published: 17 May 2021

Research about students’ perceptions concerning the learning environment based on biology teachers’ TPACK still limited. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the impact of biology teachers’ TPACK on students’ perceptions concerning their learning environment. TPACK scores were obtained from instrument in the form of multiple-choice test questions. Furthermore, students’ perceptions of their learning environment were obtained using a Likert scale questionnaire. Two biology teachers were used as research samples determined by purposive sampling, which is referring to their TPACK score. Furthermore, students who became the research sample were students from those two teachers that consists of 64 students. The analysis results show that teachers have different TPACK ability at the level of TPACK forming components. Furthermore, there are differences in students' perceptions based on their teachers' TPACK ability. The results were indicated teacher professionalism, in this case, TPACK has the impact on learning environment. Therefore, teachers, schools, government, and education providers are expected to give special attention to teacher professionalism.

Two experiments investigated the information conveyed by intonation from speaker to listener. A multiple-choice test was devised to test the ability of 48 adults to recognize and label intonation when it was separated from all other meaning. Nine intonation contours whose labels were most agreed upon by adults were each matched with two English sentences (one with appropriate and one with inappropriate intonation and semantic content) to make a matching-test for children. The matching-test was tape-recorded and given to children in the first, third, and fifth grades (32 subjects in each grade). The first-grade children matched the intonations with significantly greater agreement than chance; but they agreed upon significantly fewer sentences than either the third or fifth graders. Some intonation contours were matched with significantly greater frequency than others. The performance of the girls was better than that of the boys on an impatient question and a simple command which indicates that there was a significant interaction between sex and intonation.
