The closure of educational institutions across Thailand, as well as the maintenance of social distancing as a preventive and precautionary step against COVID-19, has thrown a wrench in the traditional method of teaching, which has given way to online learning. As a result, most online learning is managed through a learning management system, the most popular of which is Google Classroom. The purpose of this study was to find out how students felt about using levels as a virtual learning tool. One hundred and eleven second-year Thai EFL students from 7 majors who are taking English for Work participated in this study. They were mostly female (79.28%) and between 19 and 23 years old. They had attended online learning on Google Classroom. To obtain participants’ feedback, a Google Form questionnaire and a semi-structured interview were used. Means and Standard deviation were used as descriptive statistics. According to the results of the study, students indicated positive attitudes towards using Google Classroom in the aspect of ease of use (Mean = 4.41), usefulness (Mean = 4.12), and intention to use (Mean = 4.02). The results showed Google Classroom was well perceived by students. They perceived Google Classroom to be useful in submitting assignments and reminding class announcements. The results help teachers to consider arranging activities such as live online tutoring and discussion using Google Classroom to enhance students’ learning engagement or using blended learning (integrating online learning mode with face-to-face classroom).

The first language (L1) usage is still found during the English lesson, specifically in non-native English countries. This may be a debatable issue among experts. Hence, investigation on students’ perception is helpful in this study. It will give an insight into students’ preferences for learning the language. The previous studies related to this topic were mainly focused on senior high school and undergraduate students as the subject. Therefore, this present study proposed to explore the perception of junior high school students. In conducting this study, the researcher applied a quantitative survey design. There were 29 questions in three sections that were distributed to investigate: (1) the language used in the EFL classroom, (2) students’ attitudes as well as (3) students’ well-being during the English foreign language lesson. The participants were 101 students of SMP Shalahuddin Malang. The findings revealed that students have positive responses towards the use of Indonesian langauge during the EFL lesson.   DOI: 10.26905/enjourme.v6i2.6701

Mobile learning (M - learning) emerges as the essential mark of technological revolution 4.0 and the great development of modern technology. It has proved that their smart functions were accompanied by the rapid expansion of mobile devices to support learning of learners everywhere and every time. Although mobile technology is expected to apply suitably to teaching and learning, the capacity of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) students to use mobile devices to support their English learning needs to be thoroughly evaluated. This paper is to present how EFL learners at a Vietnam University can exploit mobile technology by questionnaire through a survey of 300 EFL students. The investigation took place during the second semester of the 2018 - 2019 school year. The quantitative approach has been used to gather and analyze data, and results have shown that EFL students are confident of learning English through mobile devices through their use of mobile technology. This shows that learning English by mobile devices is feasible and has got positive perceptions from the students. Furthermore, the research results are expected to contribute as a theoretical background as reference for future researches related to mobile learning applications.

This study aims to examine the factors that support or hinder students’ attitudes towards using information and communication technology (ICT) in problem-based learning (PBL) using the technology acceptance model (TAM) (Davis, 1989) among polytechnic students. A total of 737 first-year polytechnic students in Singapore participated in the cross-sectional survey study by completing a questionnaire (The assessment of attitude and intention to use ICT tools among polytechnic students), which gathered both quantitative and qualitative data. Based on the analysis of the quantitative data, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use are found to be significantly and positively correlated with attitudes towards using ICT. Results from the analysis of the qualitative data suggest five major themes (engagement, communication, information gathering, collaboration and efficiency) on what students enjoyed most about using ICT. On the other hand, Internet connectivity, usability, technical issues and ICT competency are the four other themes that categorised the difficulties students faced using ICT. An important implication is to develop polytechnic lecturers’ competency in the use of ICT-enabled learning tools as a priority to enable them to successfully integrate ICT in their PBL lessons.

The chapter deals with the potential of smartphones for the ESP class, which is currently taught within a communicative framework at the University of Bucharest. The study begins from a survey conducted among non-philological students, with a view to assessing their opinion on the acceptance of MALL. As the findings confirmed, the instructors' general observation that students would welcome a mobile-integrated course. The first part of this chapter exemplifies how the smartphone can enhance both productive and receptive skills. It provides within concrete scenarios various recommendations of specific applications, methods, or videos to be incorporated in the class, as well as the advantages such enterprises may bring. The last part establishes some general directions for using the smartphone to improve individual types of skills. The chapter concludes that, while receptive skills mainly benefit from mobile technology in terms of efficiency and ease of use, productive skills allow deeper changes in the pedagogical paradigm, thus offering fertile ground for MALL.

Computer-based Assistive Technology (AT) has had a powerful effect on people with disabilities in the areas of reading, writing, communicating, and accessing information. One of the roadblocks for use has always been the expense of AT. Advancements in computing and mobile technology, however, are making some technology more readily available, accessible, and cost effective for people with disabilities. Computer operating systems, for example, now contain features to magnify screens for reading and in the entering of text. The mobile movement of smartphones, e-readers, and tablets has also been changing the way people with disabilities access information. The capabilities of these devices combined with the immediate availability, affordability, and ease of use, has been making the world more accessible for people with disabilities, and with mobile devices increasingly becoming a necessity for most, this trend is anticipated to only continue.

Expectancy theory is applied to the use of software that secures the testing environment of in-class examinations. This security software prohibits students from viewing unauthorized material during an examination. The empirical study collected 60 student questionnaire responses completed after using the security software. These responses were used to develop measures for a model derived from expectancy theory. Using structural equation modeling, the model was estimated twice for two different variables. These dependent variables were student attitude towards the security software and the student’s examination grade. The empirical results indicated that student attitudes were positively impacted by self-efficacy, outcome expectancy, and the software’s ease of use. However, student grade was not influenced by any measures in the model. It is concluded that the security software is neutral with regard to student performance, while there are manageable actions faculty can take to positively impact student attitude towards security software.

The aim of the study was to examine students’ attitudes toward the formal integration of Facebook in their education at Al- Hussein Bin Talal University and to examine the relationship between their attitudes and their perceptions of Facebook’s attributes. The investigation was guided by Rogers' (2003) attributes of innovation. A descriptive method was adopted in which a questionnaire was used to collect data from 99 undergraduate university students from the college of education. The results show that the students have positive and high attitudes toward the formal integration of Facebook in their teaching. In addition, the students have positive perceptions of Facebook in terms of its relative advantage, ease of use, compatibility, trialability, and observability. Furthermore, Regression analysis showed that 46% of the variance of the students’ attitudes toward the formal integration of Facebook in their education can be accounted for by its linear relationship with the five independent variables: relative advantage, ease of use, compatibility, trialability, and observability. Based on the results, set of recommendations were provided.
