This research aims (1) to indentify the level of teaching skill and working performance of Social Science (IPS) teachers at the Public Junior High Schools in the Regency of Hulu Sungai Utara, (2) to indentify the level of working motivation and working performance of IPS teachers at the Public Junior High Schools in the Regency of Hulu Sungai Utara, he method used in this research was descriptive quantitative method. The sample of this research was taken by using random sampling. The result of the research shows that (1) based on the respondents’ answers about teaching skill, approximately 64.45% of the respondents strongly agreed, while 31.10% of respondents agreed, 3.46% of respondents disagreed and 0.99% of respondents strongly disagreed. (2) based on the respondents’ answers about motivation, approximately 53.59% of respondents strongly agreed, while 41.62% of respondents agreed, 3.03% of respondents disagreed and 1.77% of respondents strongly disagreed. (3) based on the respondents’ answers about working performance, approximately 68.04% of respondents strongly agreed, while 26.83% of respondents agreed, 3.64% of respondents disagreed and 1.48% of respondents strongly disagreed. Teaching skill had a strong correlation with working performance of IPS teachers which can be identified from the value of ry1 = 0.832 in the interval of 0.80 – 1.000 with very strong criteria. Working motivation had a strong correlation with working performance of IPS teachers which can be seen from the value of ry2 = 0.768 in the interval of 0.60 – 0.779 with strong criteria. There was a positive and significant correlation between teaching skill and motivation together with the working performance of IPS teachers. The result of double correlation testing shows that the correlation value (R) was 0.850 with p = 0.000. Those three factors are related to each other in supporting working performance. Key Words: Teaching Skill, Working Motivation and Working Performance.

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of the family environment, the previous school environment, the social environment, and the students’ attitude on the choice of the mechanical engineering expertise program in Vocational High Schools (VHSs) by the graduates of Junior High Schools. This was a correlational study which was ex post facto in nature. The study population totaled 1095 students. The sample, consisting of 300 students, was selected using the proportional random sampling technique by means of the Krejcie and Morgan formula. The data were collected through inventories, observation sheets, and documents. The content validity was assessed through expert judgment. The construct validity was assessed using the factor analysis and the reliability using the Cronbach’s Alpha formula. The data were analyzed using the descriptive analysis, regression analysis, and path analysis at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that, there were significant effects of the family environment, the previous school environment, the social environment, and attitude in the choice of mechanical engineering expertise program in VHSs by the graduates of Junior High Schools

Place of research in some of SMP Negeri in Tanjungpinang and Bintan. The population is all science teachers of SMP Negeri in Tanjungpinang and Bintan while the sample in this study consists of eight Junior High Schools located in Tanjungpinang and four Junior High Schools in Bintan. This study aims to determine the use of learning media by science teachers in Tanjungpinang and Bintan and constraints faced by teachers regarding the use of learning media. Sampling technique in this research is simple random sampling. While type of research is descriptive. Data collection was obtained through questionnaires, interviews and documentation. Questionnaire contains ten questions using a Guttman scale consisting of “yes” and “no” questions.Data collection is also done by interviewing teachers to find out the constraints found by teachers during the learning process takes place. Other data collection techniques are done by looking at the RPP created by teachers on the learning media used. The results obtained an average of 69.16% of teachers use learning media during the learning process took place. From the average results seen that not all teachers of IPA in SMP Negeri Tanjungpinang and Bintan use learning media during the learning-teaching process. While the expectations at this time in accordance with the demands of the curriculum that during the learning process should use learning media. The results from the questionnaires obtained data about the constraints found in the teacher's use or to use the learning media. The results obtained by analyzing the RPP turns out that teachers write the media used in each meeting, this is not in accordance with the fact of the average outcomes. There should be a policy from government and school to overcome these obstacles. Further research that I suggest is to know the creativity of teachers in making learning media.

This study expects to discover the improvement of science teachers' comprehension of the STEM concept, the improvement of teachers' readiness in implementing it, and the relationship between the comprehension of STEM concepts and readiness in implementing it in learning science. The participants were 50 science teachers from a few junior high schools in Ciamis who joined the workshop and simulated natural science learning dependent on STEM concepts in the Galuh University in Ciamis, Indonesia. The method of study used descriptive utilizing instruments of questionnaires and interview guide. The data were investigated using descriptive statistics with SPSS version 25.0. In addition, data from interviews were analyzed qualitatively (as complementary data). The exploration results show an increase in understanding of the STEM concept of science teachers and an increase in teacher readiness to implement it in science learning. This increase in understanding of STEM concepts and readiness to implement them is strengthened by developing a plan for implementing STEM-based learning and observing STEM-based science learning simulation activities conducted by several workshop participants. In addition, there is also a high correlation between understanding the STEM concept and the teacher's readiness to implement it in science learning.

This service aims to increase reading interest in tsanawiah madrasah students or equivalent to junior high schools (SMP) with SQ3R reading techniques that can be applied in reading textbooks. The method of activities used in this service in the form of training/workshops and training results are simulated directly to each student through stages (1) Survey (2) Questions/questions (3) Read/read (4) Recite/Recall/Repeat/Retell and (5) Review/review/review. The trainees were 26 students from Tsanawiah Raudhatusyuban Madrasah and involved two teachers. The results of this service show that the reading ability of students of the Tsanawiah madrasah or equivalent to junior high school is still deficient so that the existence of reading training with the SQ3R method is expected to increase students' interest and reading skills.
