The epididymal region of the common quail was located on the dorso-medial aspect of the testis, extending from cranial pole to the caudal pole of the testis and connected the urodeum via the vas deferens and the receptaculum. The ductus epididymidis in common quail showed a series of coiled ductules which were closely bounded to the testis by connective tissue. The lining epithelium of these ductules were ciliated columnar epithelium, but non ciliated columnar epithelium were also noticed.

The objective of this investigation was to study the histological structure of the gall bladder in the common quail (Coturnix coturnix). Samples were obtained from six male and six female healthy adult common quail. Tissue sections were stained with haematoxylin and eosin. Histological results showed that the overall histology of the gall bladder of the common quail is similar to that in the chukar partridge except for the goblet cells. No significant sex-based differences were found. The gall bladder was composed of tunica mucosa, tunica muscularis and tunica serosa or tunica adventitia. The tunica mucosa was mainly lined with simple columnar epithelium which was covered by a continuous striated border of microvilli. Goblet cells were observed among the epithelial cells. The tunica mucosa formed some folds which appeared to be regularly distributed over the whole gall bladder luminal surface and were mostly isometric. Deep invaginations of the surface epithelium were observed to have grown down into the underlying mesenchyme, showing a tubular gland-like appearance. The muscularis mucosa was absent. The thin lamina propria-submucosa contained loose connective tissue which consisted of numerous diffuse lymphatic tissues, but no glands were observed. The tunica muscularis consisted of a thin circular layer of smooth muscle fibres. The loose connective tissue of the tunica serosa or adventitia was made up of adipose tissues and blood vessels. It is concluded that the histological structures of the gall bladder of the common quail are similar to those of the chukar partridge except for the presence of goblet cells among the epithelial cells of the tunica mucosa.

The objective of this study was to determine the histological structure of uterus of the kintamani dogs on the sexual maturity period. In this study using five samples of uterine organs of the kintamani dog. The tissue were taken from corpus of the uterine. The histological structure was observed using hematoxylin-eosin (HE). Identification of the histological structure of uterus observed with a microscope at 100x and 400x magnification. The results showed the endometrial lining   consisted a single layer  of the columnar epithelium and lamina propria with tubular glands, myometrium consisted of smooth muscle and perimetrium with connective tissue, nerves and blood vessels

The cation of methyl green carriea two poaitive charges, that of malachite green only one; but the two dyes behave towards tissue-constituents in almost exactly the same way. These dyes are not specific for chromatin. They colour certain objects that are devoid of DNA, even when they are used in very dilute solution. The granules of cells called Körnchenzellen in the connective tissue of the common snail, Helix aspersa, are strongly coloured by both dyes from very dilute solutions, and thus provide a striking instance of the unspecificity of these dyes. Malachite green, which is stable and free from contamination by metachromstic impurities, can advantageously replace the methyl green commonly used in mixtures with pyronine. It is suggested that pyronine may have a greater capacity for penetrating into close-textured objects, such ss nucleoli and ribosomes, than methyl and malachite greens.

In this paper we review the conservation status and population trends of the common quail (Coturnix coturnix) from 1900 to the present. Data are sometimes contradictory with regard to the status of this species as it has some features that make it difficult to produce reliable population estimates. Recent data clearly suggest, either at a local scale or at a trans–national scale, that the Atlantic common quail populations have remained stable in the last two decades, and that restocking practices with farm–reared quails (hybrids with the Japanese quail, Coturnix japonica) do not affect our estimates. The complex movement patterns showed by this species require special attention. Analysis of ring recoveries can give important information, especially about the nomadic movement of quails in search of suitable habitats after the destruction of winter cereal crops due to harvesting. Thus, when developing a breeding distribution model for this species, continuously updated information on seasonal habitat and weather must be included for optimal prediction. Including fortnightly data of vegetation indices in distribution models, for example, has shown good results. Obtaining reliable predictions about changes in species distribution and movements during the breeding period could provide useful knowledge about the conservation status and population trends and would help in the design of future management measures.

The histological structure of integument in Mastacembelus mastacembelus have been investigated from skin fragments cut from nine regions at body surface. The results revealed that the integument of the fish investigated comprises three principal layers- the epidermis, the dermis (corium) and the subcutis-All the three principal layers may further be divided into secondary layers according to the function performed by their cells. The epidermis may further divided into three layers- the outermost epithelial coverage, the middle layer and the basal layer (stratum germinatiuum)-The dermis consists of a relatively thin upper layer of loose vascular connective tissue called the stratum laxum and a thick lower compact layer- the stratum compactum. The upper loose layer contains blood capillaries, nerve fibers and scale pockets. The subcutis is the innermost and the thinnest layer of the skin and is situated in between the stratum compactum and the muscles. All the above main layers showed great extend in their thickness.

The reproductive and associated organs of both male and female T. georgianus are briefly described. In females, only the right ovary is functional and pregnancies occur only in the right horn. They are monovular and the corpus luteum occupies most of the ovary and is deeply embedded in its stroma. Females are monotocous and the gestation period is probably about 4 months, young being born from October to February. They are monestrous and there is an autumn and early winter dioestrousanoestrous period. Spermatozoa are not stored in the reproductive tract of females and copulation appears to coincide with the oestrous condition. In males, spermatogenesis proceeds throughout the year and spermatozoa are present in the epididymis and vas deferens in all months that males were collected (no records for December). Spermatozoa are also found in the ampulla of Henle and vesicula seminalis in most months of the year. The position of the testes varies with season: in summer they descend to the scrota1 sacs; in autumn, winter, and spring they are more abdominal.

The material of the authors consists of 5 cases of gonorrhea that died from accidental causes, 1 case of amputation and 3 cases. extirpation of the paraurethral course. Conclusions: the gonorrhea process is played out in the epithelium and connective tissue of the genitourinary tract and has an exudative-proliferative character. The inflammatory infiltrate consists of lymphoid cells, plasma cells, leukocytes, and eosinophils. The squamous epithelium is not an obstacle to the penetration of infection this is clearly seen when studying the process in the paraurethral passages. The penetrated deep into the gonococcus are phagocytosed by lecocytes in the surface layers of the submucosa. Metaplasia of columnar epithelium in squamous and transitional, can be in any part of the genitourinary tract and can be detected before the onset of gonorrhea. Litreitis is not necessary for gonorrhea. Prostatitis can be without vesiculitis.

Abstract Introduction Communications between iliac veins in the pelvis are reported to be rare occurrences, which are mostly due to developmental abnormalities. The common iliac vein is formed by the joining of the internal and external iliac veins. Here, we present a detailed morphological and histological study of a rare communication found between the internal and external iliac veins, which would prove to be of substantial value to the knowledge of vessels in the pelvis, both for clinicians and surgeons. Materials and Methods In the present study, we came across a rare communication in the form of a ladder, between the left internal and external iliac veins in a 70-year-old male cadaver. There were two communications (named upper and lower communications) between the external and internal iliac veins, before they joined to form the common iliac vein. On naked eye observation, the lumen of the right common iliac vein appeared to be wider than on the left side. The lengths of these communications and the distance between each of their attachments have been measured and tabulated. The walls of these veins, their microscopic sections and their communication involved in the case were taken. The possible causes for these variations were congenital, owing to the complicated nature of the developmental process involved in the formation of the inferior vena cava and the venous system of the lower limb. Results The structure of all the veins involved in this case and the communications were seen to be normal. The thickness of these walls were measured and tabulated for uniformity around the circumference of the wall of these veins. All the measurements from the structural variations and from the histological observations are tabulated in our results. Conclusion The complicated development sequence of these veins could have possibly led to the persistence of these communications. Such a developmental variation does not seem to pose any threat until unless encountered under clinical or surgical interventions, as the histological structure of the walls of the communications as well as the major channels connected appeared to be normal and well-developed. The detailed morphological and histological features of these structures involved in the variation along with the possible complications have been presented in the present report. Knowledge of these variations and complications due to injury plays a key role in a clinical setup.

Primordial odontogenic tumor (POT) is a benign mixed odontogenic tumor comprised of a loose connective tissue with a similar morphology with dental papilla and exhibiting in its periphery the presence of a columnar epithelium. POT occurs in young patients and typically is associated with an unerupted tooth, with the mandible being the main anatomic site of occurrence. The present manuscript is aimed at describing a new case of POT and reviewing the main biologic findings related to this odontogenic tumor.
