This research is a descriptive qualitative study that aims to determine students' learning difficulties in solving surface area of the cube and the volume of cubes problems. The population in this research is as many as 84 students in the second grade of SMP 1 Morotai State Junior High School, spread over 3 classes. The sample in this study was student II, amounting to 24 students. Based on the results of the study, it shows that in question number 1 there are 7 students or 30.44% who experience conceptual difficulties, there are 4 students or 21.74% who experience fact difficulties, there are 6 students or 26.08% who experience difficulties in the rules, there are 5 students or 2.74% who experience difficulty skills, while in question number 2 there were 14 students or 60.87% who had difficulty with the concept, there were 6 students or 26.08% who had difficulty in fact, there were 1 student or 4.35% who had difficulty in the rules, and there were 2 students or 8 , 69% who experience difficulty skills, then in question number 3 there were 18 students or 78.26% who experienced difficulty in the concept, there were 2 students or 8.69% who experienced difficulties in fact, there were 2 students or 8.69% who had difficulty in the rules, there were 1 student or 4, 35% experienced difficulty skills, and in question number 4, there are 11 students or 47.83% who experience concept difficulties, there are 7 students or 30.44% who experience fact difficulties, there are 3 students or 4.35% who have difficulty in the rules, there are 2 students or 8 , 69% experienced difficulty skills. The conclusion that can be taken is that most students still have difficulty in solving problems surface area of the cube and the volume of cubes.

The aims of this study to know student vocabulary through drill vocabulary on second grade Elementary school in Sidomukti village, Kebomas Gresik. The participant from Elementary School until Junior high school and the enthusiastic of participant is good around 25-30 in every meeting.  Classroom activity was made fun but still get knowledge through game and material worksheet based on topic. Then drilling  method that is applied in the classroom, students not only listen theory but try to answer question in worksheet. Researcher want to make more relaxed learning atmosphere in every meeting in order to student did not bored, researcher try to guide student from worksheet to increase their  vocabulary. Vocabulary is the one of focus in this learning, their ability in vocabulary is variative because they are from different level Elementary School and Junior High School. Every meeting we try to drill their vocabulary so we hope their vocabulary increase step by step. We try to drill their vocabulary in every meeting to recognize some of vocabulary related with the material and  also try  to make student motivated for answer the question. This research method using pre-test and post-test for retrieve data .The result from this learning is participant happy and enjoy, their vocabulary ability and their vocabulary increase also.

This research is a qualitative study based on the previous research, which will, apply and adapt the earlier findings to Indonesia’s education system. The particular focus of this study is the non-cognitive skills needed for the study of science subjects at junior high school grade VII, namely: accurateness; perseverance; conscientiousness; responsibility; critical thinking; innovation; open mindedness; sensitivity; empathy; and environmental awareness. This is based on non-cognitive skill construction involving: individual character; emotion; habit; and process. Those aspects can be developed into the syllabus and lesson plans, both evaluating and developing the students’ non-cognitive skills. Abstract: Orthodontic treatment need increases with the number of cases of malocclusion as one of the major problems in Indonesia and an oral health problems are sufficiently large as dental caries and periodontal disease. Orthodontic treatment need in a population is described by one measure, namely Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN). The purpose of this study was to determine the needs of orthodontic treatment in the second-grade students of Junior High School 2 Bitung based IOTN consisting of Aesthetic Component and Dental Health Component. It was a cross sectional study of descriptive obsevational, conducted in Junior High School 2 Bitung at December 2013. It research was used the total population of the second grade students of Junior High School 2 Bitung, amounting to 460 students. The results showed, orthodontic care needs based on the AC is 304 people 77 % do not require nursing care or only mild, 74 people 19% of borderline and need care 18 4.5 really need treatment. While orthodontic treatment needs based DHC is 76% of 303 people do not require treatment or light treatment only, 63 people took care borderline 16%, 7.6% and 30 people really need treatment. Orthodontic treatment need by Index of Orthodontic Treatment Needs in second grade at Junior High School 2 Bitung mostly do not require or need minor maintenance in AC 77% and DHC 76%.Keywords: treatment need, IOTN, Student junior High School.  Abstrak: Kebutuhan perawatan ortodonsi meningkat seiring bertambahnya jumlah kasus maloklusi sebagai salah satu permasalahan utama di Indonesia dan merupakan masalah kesehatan gigi dan mulut yang cukup besar setelah karies gigi dan penyakit periodontal. Kebutuhan perawatan ortodonsi pada suatu populasi digambarkan dengan salah satu alat ukur yaitu Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need (IOTN). Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mengetahui kebutuhan perawatan ortodonsi pada siswa-siswi kelas II SMP Negeri 2 Bitung berdasarkan IOTN yang terdiri dari Aesthetic Component (AC) dan Dental Health Component (DHC). Penelitian ini merupakan suatu penelitian Cross sectional yang bersifat deskriptif observasional, yang dilakukan di SMP Negeri 2 Bitung pada bulan Desember 2013. Pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik total populasi pada siswa-siswi kelas II di SMP Negeri 2 Bitung yang berjumlah 460 orang. Hasil penelitian didapatkan, kebutuhan perawatan ortodonsi berdasarkan AC yaitu 304 orang 77 % tidak membutuhkan perawatan atau hanya perawatan ringan, 74 orang 18,7% butuh perawatan borderline dan 18 orang 4,5 sangat butuh perawatan. Sedangkan kebutuhan perawatan ortodonsi berdasarkan DHC yaitu 303 orang 76,5% tidak membutuhkan perawatan atau hanya perawatan ringan, 63 orang 15,9% butuh perawatan borderline, dan 30 orang 7,6% sangat butuh perawatan. Kebutuhan perawatan ortodonsi berdasarkan IOTN pada siswa kelas II di SMP Negeri 2 Bitung sebagian besar tidak membutuhkan atau butuh perawatan ringan pada AC 77% dan DHC 76%. The purpose of this study was to the influence reading habits and reading strategies on students reading comprehension at junior high school 1 in the district Benai-Kuansing.There were three questions contained in this study.Firstly,Is there any significant  influence of reading habit on students’ reading comprehension in junior high school 1  Benai.Secondly, Is there any significant  influence of reading strategies on students’ reading comprehension in junior high school 1  Benai.Thirdly, Is there any significant  influence of reading habit and reading strategies on students’ reading comprehension in junior high school 1  Benai.This study used quantitative explanatory research. The subjects in this study are 70 students of the second grade students. Data collection techniques in this study used questionnaires and tests. The questionnaires in this study related to students' reading habits and students' reading strategies, while the tests related to student reading comprehension. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive statistics, classic assumption tests, multiple regression tests and hypothesis testing.The results of this study indicate that, student reading habits (X1) have significant results of 0,685. Student reading strategies (X2) have significant results of 0.379. And student reading comprehension (Y) has a significance result of 0.818. Therefore, the researcher concludes that there is a positive and significant contribution of student reading habits and student reading strategies on student reading comprehension. Keywords:Reading Habit, Reading Strategies, Reading Comprehension.

This study aims to develop an affective evaluation instrument for junior high school students. The research was conducted from November to December 2014 on all of the public and private junior high school in Palangka Raya City. The population of this study was all students in second grade of state and private junior high school in Palangka Raya city spread over 10 (ten) state and private junior high school. Samples were taken by purposive sampling , that is by taking into several considerations of school quality (good, moderate, or less), the type of school (public and private) so it could described a variety of populations . In this study, each category is taken 2 (two) for each public and private schools. So that there are 6 (six) schools as the research sample. In this study are drawn 100 students as the subject of test instruments The instrument tried out was questionnaire by using Likert scale models with 5 (five) options. Try out done twice in difference time in two week. After taken try out of the tests twice it showed that, from 40 items of questionnaire there are 25 valid item of questionnaire and 15 items didn�t valid with the average price r = 0,4. While the reliability test also has taken to the valid items which got r11 at current prices amounted to 0.9089

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan model pembelajaran lempar lembing untuk siswa SMP yang layak digunakan. Model pembelajaran yang dikembangkan diharapkan untuk digunakan guru SMP sebagai salah satu bentuk pembelajaran lempar lembing yang baik dan efektif. Penelitian pengembangan ini dilakukan dengan mengadaptasi langkah-langkah penelitian pengembangan sebagai berikut: (1) studi pendahuluan, (2) analisis terhadap informasi yang telah dikumpulkan, (3) mengembangkan produk awal (draf produk), (4) validasi ahli dan revisi, (5) uji coba skala kecil dan revisi, (6) uji coba lapangan skala besar dan revisi, dan (7) diseminasi produk hasil pengembangan. Uji coba skala kecil dilakukan 20 siswa terhadap siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri 2 Karangnongko Klaten. Uji coba skala besar dilakukan terhadap 60 siswa kelas 8 SMP Negeri 1 Karangnongko dan SMP Negeri 1 Kemalang Klaten. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis deskriptif kuantitatif dan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini berupa buku panduan dan CD model pembelajaran lempar lembing untuk siswa SMP, yang berisikan sepuluh model permainan, yaitu permainan: (1) kasvol; (2) bola estafet; (3) target papan; (4) target bola; (5) lempar angka; (6) perang bola; (7) parsim; (8) tardus; (9) pahsim, dan (10) pahdus. Dari hasil penilaian para ahli materi, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa model pembelajaran lempar lembing yang disusun sangat baik dan efektif, sehingga layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran lempar lembing pada siswa SMP. Kata kunci: pengembangan, model pembelajaran lempar lembing DEVELOPING A JAVELIN THROWING TEACHING MODEL FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS Abstract This research aims to produce a javelin throwing teaching model for junior high school students. This javelin throwing teaching model is expected to be used by teacher as a form of good and effective javelin throwing teaching. This research and development was conducted by adapting the steps of research development including: (1) preliminary study, (2) analysis of the gathered information, (3) developing the initial product, (4) expert’s validation and revision, (5) small scale trials and revision, (6) large-scale field trial and revision, and (7) dissemination of the product. The small scale trial was conducted in Karangnongko Klaten 2 State Junior High School with 20 second grade students. The large scale trial was conducted in Karangnongko Klaten 1 State Junior High School and Kemalang Klaten 1 State Junior High School with 60 second grade students The data were analysed using the descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative analyses The product of this research is a guide book and CD of javelin throwing teaching model for junior high school students, which contain ten games models, namely, the game model of: (1) kasvol; (2) relay; (3) board target; (4) ball target; (5) figures throwing; (6) ball war; (7) parsim; (8) tardus; (9) pahsim, and (10) pahdus. From the assessment of the subject-matter experts evaluation, it can be concluded that the developed javelin throwing teaching model is a good effective and feasible for the teaching of javelin throwing to junior high school students. Refusal is one of many speech acts investigated in pragmatics. We usually do it in our life to reject other person’s request. People from different culture usually employ different refusal strategies since every culture has various way in protecting their positive face and reducing the threat that occur because of refusal ((Brown & S. Levinson, 1987). This study has two objectives: 1) to find out kind of strategies are used by Javanese teacher in performing refusal; 2) to describe how Javanese teacher use refusal strategies regarding the status of the addressee. This study was a qualitative study. The data were collected using discourse completion task (DCT) to elicit compliment responses from 16 teachers in Airlangga Junior High School Balikpapan. The discourse completion task (DCT) encompasses a variety of situations that required the participants to refuse the requests directly at them. Moreover, the data were analyzed with the help of Bebe, et all. (1990) in (Boonkongsaen, 2013) indicators. We can inferred that most participants used difference of refusal strategies. However, most participants tended to use the indirect strategies. Finally, this study also showed that the participants were more likely to be polite in their way of refusing requests.

English is an International language that is used as an instrument to communicate. As a foreign language it is quite normal if  English difficult to learn, because the way to write and read or speak English language is dissimilar whereas  in Indonesian language the way to read or speak and write it is the same. Same as student in one of Junior High school in Lembang, some of them do not want to speak English language especially in from of the class. The author guest one of the factor students do not want to speak English is limitation vocabulary. In this article the author try to know is it true that limitation vocabulary is one of factor student do not want to speak English ? To answer that question, the author use qualitative method through questionnaire and interview for second grade student. The result finding that many factor student do not want to speak English one of them is limitation vocabulary, the student said that is no easy to memorize a lot of vocabulary, when they memorize it the feel bored. To make the student do not feel bored the author  suggest to use some games in the class to make the student more attractive. Keywords:  Vocabulary, Factor, Speaking
