Introduction: Good intensity of light dramatically affects the eyes. If there is less intensity of light. the eye muscles contract as much as possible to see objects or vice versa. If this happens continuously, it will cause damage to the eyes. Based on the preliminary study, it was found that as the auto welder operators have the task to observe the results of the auto welder engine to determine the quality of the welder, this type of work needs accuracy so that the right lighting intensity is required. This study aimed to determine the association between the lighting level and subjective visual fatigue complaints on operators in the auto welder section. Methods: The research method used was quantitative, with a cross- sectional approach and observational method. The samples in this study were 18 respondents from the total sampling technique. The instrument used was the Visual Fatigue Index (VTI) questionnaire. Moreover, the analysis of the study results used the one sample T-test statistical test to determine the association between the dependent and independent variables. Results: The one sample T-test results showed p-value = 0.012 < α = 0.05. This result showed an association between the lighting leveland subjective visual fatigue complaints on operators in the auto welder section. Conclusion: In this research, it was found that the majority of lighting levels that did not meet the standards had an association with subjective complaints of visual fatigue on the operators in the auto welder section. Keywords: auto welder, lighting, visual fatigue

Self-noise is an important specification of hydrophone with preamplifier. This paper presents the modelling, measurement and optimization of the self-noise of hydrophone with preamplifier. Through analyzing various noise sources of hydrophone and its preamplifier, an effective self-noise model of hydrophone with preamplifier was established, and the self-noise was mainly affected by the hydrophone quality factor, preamplifier noise and thermal noise of preamplifier input resistance. In order to measure the self-noise of hydrophone with preamplifier, a measurement system was constructed and used for measuring the self-noise of a RHSA30 hydrophone which manufactured by Hangzhou Applied Acoustics Research Institute (HAARI) and has a typical sensitivity of -173 dB. After optimization of the self-noise of RHSA30 hydrophone, the measured equivalent noise pressure spectral density level was close to 30 dB at the frequency of 1000 Hz. The measurement results proved that the preamplifier current noise which mainly coming from the Operational Amplifier played a leading role at low frequencies of hydrophone with preamplifier. And some basic principles for self-noise optimization of hydrophone with preamplifier were given at the end.

The experiment study was made to optimize the design of a pumping forebay. The Combined-sills were made in the forebay to eliminate the circulation and vortices of the diffusing flow successfully. The Numerical simulation of three-dimensional turbulent flow is applied on the complicate fore-and-aft flow of sills. The computational results are compared with the measurement results of physical model. The calculated results are in good agreement with the experimental data. The flow pattern is obviously improved. The study results have been applied in the project which gives a uniform approach flow to the pumping sump.

Few studies have attempted to measure the differences between self-reported and observed food hygiene practices in a household setting. We conducted a study to measure the level of agreement between self-reported and observed food hygiene practices among child caregivers with children under the age of five years in rural Malawi. Fifty-eight child caregivers from an intervention and 29 from a control group were recruited into the study. At the end of a nine-month food hygiene intervention, household observations were conducted followed by self-reported surveys. Overall, practices were found to be more frequently reported than observed in both groups. However, the difference between self-reports and observed practices was minimal in the intervention compared to the control group. The odds ratio results confirm that more desirable practices were observed in the intervention group compared to the control group. Despite the effects of reactivity during observations, the study results imply that the intervention group did not just improve their knowledge, but also translated the messaging into better practice. Researchers and implementing agencies in water, sanitation and hygiene and food hygiene sector should ensure that interventions are context-appropriate, and that effective methods of observation are used to confirm any reported effects of an intervention.

OBJECTIVE: With the nationwide lockdown in India, and with a near-exclusive focus on the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) there has been a great deal of neglect in the management of other illnesses leading to significant mortality and morbidity. We aimed to assess the feasibility of keeping obstetrics & gynecology services in a secondary care hospital functioning (in terms of regional experiences and comprehensive patient care measures) in the COVID-19 pandemic situation using a clinical approach. STUDY DESIGN: All policies of the World Health Organization and other international obstetrics- gynecological recommendations or guidelines were followed in keeping the services functional. Hospital data of obstetrics and gynecology services were maintained and compared with the previous year’s data of the corresponding period (January to December) through a retrospective observational study. RESULTS: Compared to figures for 2019, in-patient admissions, surgeries, and daycare procedures performed, and deliveries conducted were reduced in total but almost approached previous levels. The number of out-patient attendance and gynecologic laparoscopic surgeries were significantly reduced mostly in the initial month of lockdown (April 2020) and thereafter. Only limited COVID-19 testing was done and there was no mortality in patients or health care workers (HCW) in the obstetrics and gynecological department. CONCLUSION: COVID-19 pandemic had caused an unprecedented global healthcare crisis. The experience and data collected from our hospital in the study period validate the ‘clinical’ working protocol that enables comprehensive maternity and gynecology care at secondary level care centers even in a pandemic situation without adverse outcomes on patients or the hospital staff.
