The assignment of lecturers to schools aims to improve the quality of learning. The implementation of Lecturer-to-School Assignment conducted at Kalijudan 01/59 Elementary School, Muhammadiyah 10 Junior High School, Baitussalam Junior High School, and Muhammadiyah 7 Senior High School of Surabaya provided many experiences for lecturers of FKIP UMSurabaya and partner school teachers. Differences in perceptions between lecturers and teachers can be understood and straightened out by the existence of lecturer assignment activities to schools. With the assignment of lecturers to the school lecturers and teachers can collaborate with each other to compile an activity plan by seeing and experiencing firsthand experience how to teach in schools with various problems. Lecturers and teachers exchange experiences in learning activities so that learning is more meaningful. Planned and sustainable school assignment activities have a positive impact on FKIP UMSurabaya and partner schools and for improving the quality of education in the Indonesian nation. Learning model innovations and varied media use in learning activities conducted by lecturers can provide motivation to teachers and students in the learning process. With the assignment of lecturers to school this can improve student learning outcomes.

This study aims to determine the understanding of teachers and students about school-based management in the State Junior High School 8 Palangka Raya. The study involved 56 teachers and 248 students as research samples. The technique of collecting data in this study is by spreading the questionnaire, interviews, and documenting the necessary data. Based on the results of the data analysis that has been done, it can be concluded that teachers and students at State Junior High School 8 Palangka Raya has had an understanding of school-based management which is proven by the answer of the questionnaire. Teacher understanding is in good category with a percentage yield of 71.63% and student understanding is in category enough with a percentage yield of 59.87%. In the future State Junior High School 8 Palangka Raya to make more efforts to improve the quality of teachers and students through workshops, trainings, and education seminars on school-based management, so that teachers and students better understand the understanding and implementation of school-based management, so that it is created a sense of having each other in school to improve the quality of education.

This research aims to know the function of library management to improve the quality of education in junior high schools in Sanggalangi Subdistrict, North Toraja Regency. The method used in this study is the qualitative approach method. In qualitative approaches, the primary data collection tool is a researcher who acts as a full observer of things that concern the management of libraries relating to the quality of education. The data was obtained through observations, interviews, and documentation directly at junior high school in Sanggalangi Subdistrict, North Toraja Regency. Resource persons in this study are principals, librarians, teachers, and supervisors of junior high school in Sanggalangi Subdistrict. Data validation by triangulation is source triangu- lation, technique and time. The results showed that library management in junior high school in Sanggalangi Subdistrict, North Toraja Regency, in general, has shown good things but experienced various obstacles in the field both     in terms of infrastructure and from the library staff where the librarians do not have library background. The quality of junior high school education in Sanggalangi Subdistrict, North Toraja Regency, is still limited due to limited human resources and facilities that are not optimal, but in some schools, it has improved. It can be seen that there are students in Sanggalangi Subdistrict who have achievements. The use of the library is very influential on the quality of education because through the library, teachers and students can obtain the knowledge and information needed in the learning process.

This study is aimed at describing the use of English of the teachers and students at State Junior High School 1 Magelang as a pilot international standard school. The objectives of this study are (1) to find out the frequencies and percentages of the use of English spoken by teachers and students and (2) to describe the types of the occurrence of English sentences, clauses, and phrases spoken by teachers and students. This study was descriptive-qualitative. The subjects were two teachers and forty-eight students of 8B and 8C in State Junior High School 1 Magelang in the school year 2010/2011. The object of this study was the transcript of teachers and students’ utterances indicating the use of English during teaching and learning process in the classroom. The data were collected through observation and audio-taped of the teaching and learning processes. The results of the study are as follows. First, the teachers’ frequencies and percentages of English sentences are 176 sentences from the total number of 220 sentences or 80%, while the students’ frequencies and percentages of English sentences are 72 sentences from the total of 92 sentences or 78.26 %. Both the teachers’ and the students’ quality of English is very good since they make only a few incorrect English sentences. Second, the four types of English sentences are declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory; the two types of clauses found in English sentences are independent clauses and dependent clauses; and the four types of phrases found in English sentences are noun phrases, verb phrases, adjective phrases, and prepositional phrases. Introduction and Aims. Refractive errors such as miopia, hyperopia and astigmatism in teenagers are common in Asian country nowadays. Gadget usage also influence the prevalence and incidence of refractive errors specially for miopia and astigmatism. Outdoor activities have positive impact to prevent miopia. The aim of this study is to report the role of outdoor activities as unique school program that could prevent refractive errors in Junior High School in rural area of Bali Method. This is analytic descriptive study with cross sectional approach of 231 Pekutatan II Junior High School students taken in December 2016. This school located in rural area; 35,3 km from Jembarana and 60,5 km from Denpasar, the capital city of Bali. The area of the school is about 1500 m2, where 70% of the land are still vacant to natural habitat and this school had their own garden area that being organized by the students themselves after school hours. This school do not have computer extra curriculum as well. Result. From 231 students there were only 14 students that have refractive errors consist of 5 boys and 9 girls, mostly aged 15 years. Six students (2%) were diagnosed as myopia and 8 students (3.4%) were diagnosed as compound astigmatism myopia. The length of gadget usage in this school were 1.66 hours and outdoor activities time were 4.78 hours per day. The hereditary factors of refractive errors were noted in 12 students (5 %). Outdoor activities associated with refractive errors in this study (p = 0.03). While time using gadget does not have an association with the refractive errors (p = 0.38). Conclusion. Rural area where the outdoor activities are still common have protective effect to prevalence of refractive errors in teenager.

This paper looks into what Junior High School learners think of the Web 2.0 tool “Storyboard” for digital story telling purposes and investigates the extent to which it can enhance their receptive and productive skills of reading and writing in the English language. Fifty one randomly selected students, who created a digital story based on a relevant instructive scenario, and their teachers took part in the research. The quantitatively analyzed teachers’ and students’ interviews results and learners’ post-tests data revealed that the tool is considered very motivating and useful increasing learners’ aforementioned English language skills. As learners and teachers indicate “Storyboard” has offered them moments of happiness and joy during their school activities and made their lesson creative and interesting.

The activity of analyzing the items is one of the obligations for each teacher in an effort to improve the quality of the questions. However, for Civics Education teachers, this has never been done especially for questions created by the Subject Teachers' Consultation which are used for the end-semester assessment. The purpose of this study was to determine the quality of the questions based on distinguishing feature, level of difficulty, and effectiveness of the distractor. This study is an evaluation study of 50 items of  Civics Education Subject test in Banjarmasin, totaling 50 questions in the form of multiple choice questions at the end-semester test, academic year 2019/2020. The data collected are in the form of: (1) final exams question sheet, (2) question answer key sheet, and (3) students’ answer sheet. All data is obtained by documentation techniques. Data analysis uses the AnBuso version 8.0 application. The criteria for determining the quality of items are: (a) questions are considered good if the distinguishing feature is good/good enough, the level of difficulty is medium and all alternative answers are effective, (b) revision of alternative answers, if the distinguishing feature is good/good enough and the level of difficulty is medium, but the alternative there are ineffective answers, (c) good enough, if the distinguishing feature is good/good enough but the level of difficulty is easy/difficult, and (d) not good, if the distinguishing feature is not good.  The results of this study indicate that the questions used for the end-semester test at Junior High School in Banjarmasin are 50 % of poor quality.

This study aims to find out innovations in developing a pesantren-based school curriculum in increasing public confidence in SMP Islam Sumberranyar Paiton Probolinggo. This research uses a qualitative approach, while the type of research used is a case study. The results of the study show that: innovations in developing pesantren-based school curriculum in increasing public trust are as follows; The innovation of developing a pesantren-based school curriculum in Islamic junior high schools has improved very well, from the development of the school curriculum trying to develop a pesantren curriculum by changing the learning system, the supporting factors for innovation in developing a pesantren-based school curriculum in Islamic junior high schools include the principal involving all relevant stakeholders, both administrators and administrators. The entire board of teachers, community leaders, guardians of students as well as support from boarding school caregivers, inhibiting factors for innovation in developing a pesantren-based school curriculum in Islamic junior high schools, the low awareness of teachers to develop learning tools, this hampers the innovation of developing a pesantren-based school curriculum which was developed together at Sumberanyar Islamic Middle School Paiton, while the positive impact of curriculum innovation developed at Islamic Junior High School can increase public confidence in Sumberanyar Islamic Junior High School Paiton Probolinggo

<span><em>This research is intended to look into the existence of Province Acreditation </em><span><em>for School and Islamic School in Jambi through the policies and programs </em><span><em>executed, include the result of acreditation for islamic school at Ministry </em><span><em>of Religious Affairs in Jambi. The data from Jambi Ministry of Religious </em><span><em>Affairs in 2012 showed that from 538 islamic schools which have been </em><span><em>acreditated, ie:(a) 244 Islamic Kindergarten, 169 (7,63%) kindergartens </em><span><em>were acreditated, 75 (28,37%) kindergartens were not acreditated, (b). </em><span><em>263 Islamic Elementary School, 171 (61%) schools were acreditated, 98 </em><span><em>(38,20%) schools were not acreditated, (c) 345 Islamic Junior High School, </em><span><em>158 (44,99 %) schools were acreditated, 187 (55,01%) schools were not </em><span><em>acreditated and (d) 184 Islamic Senior High School, 88 (47,01%) schools</em><br /><span><em>were acreditated and 96 (52,99%) schools were not acreditated. From 1036 </em><span><em>educational institutions, there have been 450 (43,44%) islamic schools </em><span><em>which were acreditated while there were 586 (56,56%) isclamic schools </em><span><em>which were not acreditated. The main problem which happenned was there </em><span><em>were many islamic schools got C in acreditation and even some schools were </em><span><em>not acreditated. ABSTRACTThis research is motivated by the low achievement of sciencem literacy of Indonesian students in the participation of the study of The Programe for International Student Assessment (PISA) held every three years by The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). This study aims to determine the quality of science literacy profile of junior high school students. The sample amounted to 356 students of SMP class IX, taken using proportionate stativeied random sampling technique. The Method is test and interview. The tests given using questions obtained from the OECD published PISA issue were published in 2009 specifically for matters related to science content. The results showed that the Literacy Quality of Science Profile of Junior High School Students in Pati Regency belong to low category with percentage of 55%. In the category of moderate percentage obtained by 45% and no students who fall into the high category. As for the achievement of the value of each level, the highest ability of students in answering science literacy questions in the level 1 questions with a total of 49.43 moderate categorized, and the lowest ability of students in answering the questions of science literacy is in level questions 6th with a total of 13.48 is low categorized. The conclusion is the quality of science literacy profile of junior high school students in Pati District is low. Keywords: Profil Quality, Science Literation, SMP Student, ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya capaian literasi sains siswa Indonesia pada partisipasi studi The programe for International Student Assessment (PISA) yang diselenggarakan setiap tiga tahun sekali oleh The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui profil kualitas literasi sains siswa SMP se-Kabupaten Pati. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 356 siswa SMP kelas IX se-Kabupaten Pati yang diambil dengan menggunakan teknik proportionate statified random sampling. Metode pengambilan data menggunakan metode tes dan wawancara. Tes yang diberikan menggunakan soal PISA yang dipublikasikan oleh OECD diterbitkan tahun 2009 khusus untuk soal-soal yang berkaitan dengan konten sains, serta sudah diterjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Profil Kualitas Literasi Sains Siswa SMP se-Kabupaten Pati tergolong dalam kategori rendah dengan persentase sebesar 55%. Pada  kategori sedang diperoleh persentase sebesar 45% dan tidak ada siswa yang masuk dalam kategori tinggi. Pencapaian nilai setiap levelnya, kemampuan tertinggi siswa dalam menjawab soal literasi sains terdapat pada soal level 1 dengan jumlah nilai 49,43 berkategori sedang, dan kemampuan terendah siswa dalam menjawab soal literasi sains terdapat pada soal level 6 dengan jumlah nilai 13,48 berkategori rendah. Sehingga disimpulkan bahwa profil kualitas literasi sains siswa SMP se-Kabupaten Pati tergolong rendah. Kata Kunci: profil kualitas, literasi sains, siswa SMP
