EFFECTIVENESS OF CAREER GUIDANCE ON STUDENT CAREER MATURITY. This study is driven by the tendency of guidance and counseling services at universities, especially in Indonesia University of education by students to establish their future career maturity, nevertheless, the services obtained do not meet their expectations. Considering career guidance for students, especially student career maturity is left alone, passes, and runs by itself. Then students will experience confusion and unpreparedness in facing the next career demands. Students are the final status as learners before entering the world of work and following career demands, so they need direction, career guidance to stimulate the development and stabilization of their career orientation optimally according to the level and characteristics typical of the progress as it goes through. The purpose of this research is the formation of the maturity profile of the student's career. This research uses the quantitative method. This research produces (1) Maturity picture of Student Career (2) The effectiveness of career counseling to strengthen the maturity of the student's career. The conclusion of the research is the maturity of the student's career is in mature category, there is no career guidance service to strengthen student career maturity in Indonesia University of education, based on the results of research can be formulated a model of collaborative career guidance services to harden the maturity of Indonesia University of education student career.

This study is driven by the tendency of guidance and counseling services at universities, especially in STAI Siliwangi Bandung by students to establish their future career maturity, nevertheless, the services obtained do not meet their expectations. The Covid-19 pandemic has also opened up opportunities on how career guidance services build roles in the wider community. Whereas in the world of work, globally everything has stopped, projects have been postponed, and workplaces have been closed indefinitely. This journal is a literature review that discusses career guidance and counseling services that are very important in an effort to help victims of layoffs that have occurred as well as workers in general. This problem can be solved through the career guidance function as a treatment to help individuals overcome career-related problems. The essence of the function of career guidance as a stimulus is the ability to anticipate all future possibilities and achieve career maturity. In the future, workers mindsets need to be changed through career guidance services in the form of knowledge assistance on how to manage finances. Through providing career guidance services as a form of treatment and stimulus, individuals will have self-motivation to rise from adversity and get new jobs that match their interests and expertise, find another source of income and to build passive income.

Ukhuwah Islamiyah is an equivalent term for good social interaction between individuals in Islam. The concept of ukhuwah or brotherhood can be realized through guidance and counseling efforts. In the "world" this guidance and counseling effort is known as group guidance services. This paper aims to examine group guidance in improving ukhuwah Islamiyah through a gestalt approach with discussion techniques at Madrasah Aliyah Laboratory (MAL) UIN North Sumatra Medan. This research is focused on how the group guidance service efforts with discussion techniques in improving ukhuwah Islamiyah at MAL UIN North Sumatra Medan and what factors support and hinder the process. For this reason, a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical method is appropriate to uncover empirical truths of research. The results of this study indicate that group counseling services with discussion techniques can improve student ukhuwah Islamiyah at MAL UIN North Sumatra Medan. This is indicated by (1) good interpersonal communication between students; (2) students' familiarity in finding solutions to shared problems; (3) tolerance of differences in argumentation; and (4) empathy for the situation felt by peers.

The research aims to measure secondary school students career maturity level. The research also attempts to find out whether those variables are related to other variables such as gender and educational stream. A total of 1060 respondents from 106 regular daily national secondary schools in Terengganu have been identified as research sample and they are selected through systematic random sampling process.  This survey type of research uses a set of questionnaire and interview protocol. The questionnaire comprised three sub scales: (i) Personal information and student involvement in career guidance and counseling programme, (ii) Career Maturity Inventory. The alpha value for career maturity is 0.92.  Data had been analyzed using descriptive analysis i.e. frequency, percentage, t-Test, mean, and standard deviation. Besides,  inferential analysis such as ANOVA and linear regression is also applied to test research hypothesis.  The result indicates that in general career maturity among the students ranking from low to medium level.   It has also found that students’ career maturity are significantly different based on gender and educational stream.  However, there is no significant difference between the students’ career maturity based on race.  The report concludes although career guidance and counseling programme activity plays important role in the development of the two variable.  The findings have important implications for development of career guidance and counseling programme in schools.   Key Words: Career Maturity, Career Guidance, Career Counseling Programme.   Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tahap kematangan kerjaya pelajar-pelajar sekolah menengah. Kajian ini juga meninjau sama ada kedua-dua pemboleh ubah tersebut dapat dikaitkan dengan pemboleh ubah-pemboleh ubah lain seperti jantina dan aliran atau jurusan pengajian. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 1060 orang pelajar yang dipilih dengan kaedah pensampelan rawak bersistematik daripada 106 buah Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Harian Biasa di negeri Terengganu. Kajian yang dijalankan secara tinjauan ini menggunakan soal selidik. Soal selidik yang digunakan untuk memungut data mempunyai dua skala kecil iaitu; (i) Maklumat dan biodata diri dan (ii) Inventori kematangan kerjaya, yang telah diuji dan didapati mempunyai kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan yang tinggi, iaitu nilai alpha bagi kematangan kerjaya ialah 0.92. Data yang dipungut telah dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif iaitu peratusan, frekuensi, min dan sisihan piawai bagi menjawab soalan kajian, manakala analisis inferensi seperti Ujian-t dan ANOVA digunakan untuk menguji hipotesis kajian. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa secara umumnya tahap kematangan kerjaya pelajar berada pada tahap rendah dan sederhana. Bagaimanapun, kematangan kerjaya pelajar didapati berbeza secara signifikan berdasarkan jantina, dan aliran atau jurusan pengajian. Kesimpulannya, tahap kematangan kerjaya pelajar turut dipengaruhi oleh faktor jantina, aliran atau jurusan pengajian. Justeru, sebarang aktiviti program bimbingan dan kaunseling kerjaya perlulah mengambil kira faktor-faktor pemboleh ubah tersebut.   Kata kunci: Kematangan Kerjaya, Bimbingan Kerjaya, Program Kaunseling Kerjaya.

This study aims to explain the competence of counselors in inclusive guidance and counseling services and guidance and counseling services with an inclusive perspective for persons with disabilities. This paper uses a literature approach. Library research is one type of research that uses literature as the object of research. The analysis technique uses content analysis techniques. The results of this study are: (1) the competence of counselors in guidance and counseling services with an inclusive perspective, namely with respect to personal competences, core competencies, and supporting competencies; and (2) guidance and counseling services with inclusive perspective, consisting of academic guidance services, career guidance services, and personal-social guidance services.

ABSTRAK Remaja merupakan fase penting dalam masa perkembangan terutama mengenai kemampuan dalam mengambil keputusan-keputusan pilihan karir masa depannya. Keputusan karir akan mudah dicapai apabila peserta didik memiliki kematangan karir yang baik. Konseling kelompok merupakan layanan yang dapat membantu peserta didik mengatasi hambatan dalam kematangan karir. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kajian pustaka yang didukung oleh data-data dari beberapa artikel, buku-buku sumber, dan dokumen pendukung lainnya. Guru bimbingan dan konseling dapat menerapkan layanan konseling kelompok untuk mengatasi masalah-masalah karir. Salah satu pendekatan yang dapat digunakan dalam rangka membantu kematangan karir peserta didik dalam konseling kelompok adalah pendekatan yang berfokus untuk mengubah pikiran negative dan keyakinan maladaptive (CBT) yang dimiliki oleh peserta didik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa layanan konseling kelompok dengan pendekatan Cognitive Behavior Theraphy (CBT) secara efektif dapat membantu dalam mengatasi permasalahan karir peserta didik. Kata Kunci: kematangan karir, konseling kelompok, terapi perilaku kognitif ABSTRACT Teenage is an important phase in the developmental period, especially regarding the ability to make decisions about his future career choices. Career decisions will be easily achieved if students have good career maturity. Group counseling is a service that can help students overcome obstacles in career maturity. The research method used is a literature review that is supported by data from several articles, source books, and other supporting documents. Guidance and counseling teachers can apply group counseling services to overcome career problems. One approach that can be used in order to help the career maturity of students in group counseling is an approach that focuses on changing negative thoughts and maladaptive beliefs (CBT) that are owned by students. The results of the study showed that group counseling services with the Cognitive Behavior Theraphy (CBT) approach can be effectively help in solving the career problems of students. Vocational High School (SMK) is a period of employment. Therefore students are required to understand and master the concept of career maturity. The problem of this study is how the interactive multimedia -based career guidance module is considerably effective in increasing students' career maturity? The aim of this study is to develop an effective interactive multimedia-based counseling career module to increase the SMKN 2 Lamongan students' career maturity. The products have been formulated by the researchers tested and validated by expert judgments and practitioners. The results showed that the ready-to-test product was implemented at school for their effectiveness. Based on the empirical test, it showed different score between before (79.39%) and after (89.62%) the career counseling service which Increased 10.2%. It can be concluded that career counseling through interactive multimedia based modules effectively Increased students' career maturity.

Since the introduction of school guidance and counseling services in Papua New Guinea (PNG) schools in the 1970s little has changed. A limited number of Guidance Officers (GOs) each look after a large number of secondary schools. Consequently they only have time to administer a bank of Australian Council for Education Research (ACER) aptitude tests to grade 11 students and provide limited career guidance to year 12 students. This means that more than one million school aged children in PNG miss out on adequate guidance and counselling services, with any support they do receive being provided by untrained school personnel. This comparative study using a transformative paradigm research approach will explore guidance and counselling service in PNG and Australia with a particular focus on services available to schools in Goroka (PNG) and in Townsville (Queensland, Australia). Townsville has been identified as an ideal location because of Australia’s political history and its legacies in many systems of government (including the education system), economic practices and social life in PNG. Another factor is the researcher’s location as a post graduate student at the James Cook University in Townsville. The study will utilise a mixed methods comprising of autoethnography, survey, and interview. Through autoethnography the researcher intends to investigate his own experiences working in guidance and counselling services in PNG. Next is the use of a survey questionnaire to gauge care-givers’ views about the scope and type of services currently provided in PNG and in Queensland schools. Finally, several pertinent individuals in PNG and the State of Queensland will be interviewed about guidance and counselling services in the respective countries with a view to exploring how services will need to change to better meet anticipated future requirements. The information is then distilled to make recommendations as to how guidance and counseling services in PNG schools might be transformed.

<p class="06IsiAbstrak"><strong>The Effect of Self-Esteem on Social Climber Behavior in Guidance and Counseling Students, Semarang State University</strong><strong>. </strong>This study aims at examining the influence of self-esteem on social climber behavior on Guidance and Counseling students at Universitas Negeri Semarang. These phenomena were related to the behavior of social climber. The most highlighted social climber behavior on students reflected in their lifestyle, e.g. their appearance and circle. This phenomenon happened because of the desire to get recognition from the surroundings. The research was a quantitative method using a psychological scale to collect the data. The results of this study showed that there was a significant relationship between self-esteem and social climber behavior on students. The results of this study are useful for Guidance and Counseling teachers to provide more innovation in conducting Guidance and Counseling services, especially in order to be able to guide individuals with social climber behavior to become individuals who want to accept themselves as they are.</p><strong>Keywords:</strong> Self-Esteem, Lifestyle, Social Climber Behavior

This chapter explored the role of career guidance and counseling in promoting graduates' employability skills in Tanzania higher learning institutions. A total of 123 respondents were involved. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and focused group discussion. The study revealed that HLIs do not have professionals in career guidance and counseling who are solely employed to offer such services; the task is left to lecturers and wardens. Career guidance and counseling services were also found to be inadequate and not formalized thereby threatening students' acquisition of employability skills. The study recommends that higher learning institutions (HLIs) in Tanzania should see the possibilities of preparing students in various competence areas such as academic excellence, career aspects, personal and social skills. This can only be achieved by establishing comprehensive career guidance and counseling units within the institutions.
