This research which aims to determine the effect of probiotic and Acidifier supplementations in the fermentation diet on growth of broiler has done in Takengon, Central Aceh District from August until October 2020. This research used 160 chicks strain Cobb 89 produced by PT. Charoen Pokphand. This study used a complete randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatment of probiotic and Acidifier supplementations were: 0% (A), 0.1% (B), 0.2%(C), 0.3%(D). Parameters observed were achievement of final weight, weight gain, feed consumption, feed conversion, and feed efficiency. Data was analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and continued by Duncan Multiple Range Test if significant effect was detected. The result showed that the differences in supplementation of probiotic and Acidifiers effected significantly (P <0.05) on the final weight, weight gain, feed conversion and feed efficiency. However, there was no significant effect on rate of consumption. The result of present study showed that the combination of probiotic and Acidifier had a best impact on broiler growth and it was also decreased mortality of chicken.

Abstract This study aims to examine the potential use of leubiem fish (Chanthidermis maculatus) waste and phytogenic supplementation on ration, in order to increase the performance of local ducks in the starter phase. This study used 100 local ducks aged 1 week old, and maintained them until 8 weeks old. The ducks were placed in 5 treatments and 4 replications groups (5 ducks / repetition). The study was conducted experimentally, using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD), consisting of 5 ration treatments, including: R1 (control); R2 (basal ration containing leubiem fish skin flour 10% + phytogenic 0.5%); R3 (basal ration containing leubiem fish head flour 10% + phytogenic 0.5%); R4 (basal ration containing leubiem fish bone flour 10% + phytogenic 0.5%) and R5 (basal ration containing leubiem fish gill flour + phytogenic 0.5%). Observed variables were feed consumption, body weight gain, final weight, feed conversion, and local duck mortality in the starter phase. The data obtained were both analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Duncan’s multiple range test. The results showed that the use of leubiem fish waste and phytogenic supplementation in the ration both increased the performance of local ducks in the starter phase and had a significant effect (p <0.05) on ration consumption, weight gain, and final weight. However, they had no significant effect on feed conversion and local duck mortality in the starter phase. It was concluded that the use of leubiem fish (10% bone meal) and phytogenic supplementation 0.5% in the ration was able to increase body weight gain, and the final weight of the starter phase local ducks (aged 1-8 weeks).

Increasing the number of chickens per flock artificial influenced of reducing body weight gain and increasing water intake, but had no effect on feed intake, feed conversion, and mortality. This study aimed to evaluate the use of acacia tannin as a toxic metal adsorbent in the diets of broilers fed with the inclusion of golden mussel meal in substitution for calcitic limestone. In the first trial, 648 male 21-day-old animals were divided among six treatments and six replicates, with 18 birds per experimental unit, organized in a completely randomized design (DIC). The treatments were diets with different acacia tannin levels (0, 250, 500, 750, 1000, or 1250 g ton-1). The results indicated that 250 g ton-1 of tannin was not harmful to weight gain, final weight, or feed conversion. Tannin levels caused a decrease in carcass yield and fat deposition and an increase in liver size. For the second trial, 900 male broilers of 21 days of age were used and distributed in a DIC, with different levels of substitution of calcitic limestone by the golden mussel meal (0, 25, 50, 75, or 100 %) and supplementation or not with acacia tannins (250 g ton-1), with 5 replicates and each experimental unit being composed of 18 birds. The performance data show that the use of 250 g ton-1 of tannin is detrimental to bone performance and resistance and golden mussel meal can be used to substitute up to 100 % of the limestone in the diets without affecting the variables studied.

Wicaksono PP, Subagyo YBP, Lotojo. 2008. The effect of papaya (Carica papaya) sap supplementation in ration on performance of male New Zealand White rabbit. Biofarmasi 6: 16-21. This research aimed to determine the effect of papaya (Carica papaya) sap supplementation on male New Zealand White rabbit performance. The research was conducted at Balai Pembibitan dan Budidaya Ternak Non Ruminansia (BPBTNR), located in Balekambang, Surakarta from 23 April to 18 June 2007. This research used 16 male New Zealand White rabbits divided into four treatments and four replicates, each repetition used a single rabbit. The design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with unbalanced data. The treatment given was 60% forage, 40% concentrate with papaya (Carica papaya) sap supplementation in feed, consisted of without papaya sap (P0), feed with papaya sap 0.2 g/rabbit (P1), feed with papaya sap 0.4 g/rabbit (P2), and feed with papaya sap 0.6 g/rabbit (P3). The research variables observed were feed consumption, daily weight gain, feed conversion, and feed efficiency. The results of research showed that papaya sap supplementation up to 0.6 g/rabbit did not increase feed consumption, daily weight gain, feed efficiency and did not decrease feed conversion.

The objective of this study was to determine the effect off sambung nyawa (Gynura procumbens) juice in drinking water on broiler performance (feed consumption, aver-ege daily gain, feed conversion and persentasion carcass). The research is used 200 broiler Hybro strains from PT. Manggis, were allocated into 4 treatments and 5 replications consisting of 10 broiler. Maintenance of the chicken is done for 28 days. The treatment was juice sambung nyawa with each concentration : T0 (without the addition of sambung nyawa juice), T1 (addition of 10 sambung nyawa juice in 1000 ml of drinking water), T2 (addition of 20 sambung nyawa juice in 1000 ml of drinking water) and T3 (addition of 30 sambung nyawa juice in 1000 ml of drinking water). Parameters observed in this study is broiler performance (feed consumption, aver-ege daily gain, feed conversion and persentasion carcass). The result from a completely randomized design were analyzed using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance / ANOVA) and if significant difference test followed by Duncan continued. The result showed that the addition of sambung nyawa juice at different levels (10, 20 and 30 ml) in the drinking water of broilers was highly did not affect (P > 0.05) on broiler performance (feed consumption, aver-ege daily gain, feed conversion and persentasion carcass).Keyword : Sambung Nyawa Juice, Performance Broiler.

The study was conducted to determine the effect of Lactobacillus sp. in intestinal histology, total amount of Escherichia coli in broiler chicken excreta and broiler performance. Research has been conducted using a completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications utilize 15 chickens. Lactobacillus sp. 5.8 x 107 CFU/mL was mixed in drinking water and also feed commercial concentrates together ad libitum. The results showed that treatment had significant effect (P <0.05) on weight gain, ration conversion, and final weight. There was no difference (P>0.05) ration consumption on doses of Lactobacillus sp. treatment 0 mL/days, 1 ml/days, 3 ml/days, and 5 ml/days. In general, the probiotic treatments of 1, 3, and 5 mL/days of lactobacillus sp. were better at villus height, villus surface area, weight gain, final weight, and feed conversion compared to control. Treatment a dose of 3 mL / d (1.7 x 108 CFU) is the best dose in providing optimal response to histology of the small intestine, and broiler performance. Treatment 5 mL/days has the lowest amount of Escherichia coli in manure of broiler. In conclusion, Lactobacillus sp. can be used as one candidate probiotic for broiler.

This study was aimed to evaluate the utilization of banana peel meal as alternatives to substitution of corn in the diets based on the performance, carcass production, intestinal villi, the best type and utilization level of banana peel meal as corn substitution. A total of 105 male day old duck used in a completely randomized design (CRD), i.e. half of it (25%) and all of it (50%) replacing corn with banana peel meal PB= basal feed without banana peel meal; K25 and K50 = basal feed with Kepok banana peel meal; T25 dan T50 = basal feed with Tanduk banana peel meal; R25 dan R50 = basal feed with Raja banana pel meal. each treatment was done through 3 replications, with each replication consisted of 5 hybrid ducks. The data with significant differences were analyzed using orthogonal contrast. The paramater collected include performance (feed consumption, body weight gain, final weight, and feed conversion), carcass and abdominal percentage (carcass weight and carcass percentage). The results of the study showed that the utilization of banana peel meal on ducks had lower yields (P<0.05) in body weight gain, body weight, carcass weight, abdominal fat weight, but had higher feed conversion rather than basal feed treatment. It could be concluded that banana peel meal can not be used as substitution of corn in diets, because it can decrease the performance and carcass production of ducks, banana peel meal Kepok and Tanduk with level of 25% gives best performance and carcass weight when used as substitution of corn.

The objective of the research was to evaluate to effect of feeding mengkudu on performances of broilers. The research design used was completely randomized design. One hundred broilers were distributed into five treatments. The treatments were different levels of mengkudu meal (0, 0.75%, 1.5%, 2.25 % and 3%). The observed measured were feed consumption, average body weight (gain) and feed conversion. Results showed that feeding mengkudu (Morinda Citrifolia L.)  no effect significant (P>0.05) on feed consumption, average body weight and feed conversion.  In conclusion, feeding mengkudu meal up to 3% (in diet) does not negatively affect feed consumption, average body weight, and feed conversion.
