The use of information technology in learning has become a demand for the implementation of modern education. Various patterns of technology integration in learning are proposed to improve optimal learning outcomes. This study aims to develop learning media in the form of web-based e-colloquium to increase students’ soft-skills. This development used research and development method with the ADDIE model (analyzing, designing, developing, implementing, and evaluating). This study found that web-based E-colloquium was feasible to be implemented. In addition, responses obtained from both students and the public show that product implementation provides broad opportunities to develop students’ skills such as communication skills, mental readiness, and public presentation technique skills. This development product contributes to an alternative learning media that could be beneficial for higher education institutions in Indonesia.

The Council for Clinical Certification in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CCFC) sets accreditation standards and these standards list broad domains of knowledge with specific coverage of “the appropriate etiologies, characteristics, anatomical/physiological, acoustic, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates” and assessment, intervention, and methods of prevention for each domain” (CCFC, 2013, “Standard IV-C”). One domain in the 2014 standards is “voice and resonance.” Studies of graduate training programs suggest that fewer programs require coursework in cleft palate, the course in which resonance was traditionally taught. The purpose of this paper is to propose a standardized learning outcomes specific to resonance that would achieve the minimum knowledge required for all entry-level professionals in speech-language pathology. Graduate programs and faculty should retain flexibility and creativity in how these learning outcomes are achieved. Shared learning objectives across programs would serve programs, faculty, students, accreditation site visitors, and the public in assuring that a consistent, minimum core knowledge is achieved across graduate training programs. Proficiency in the management of individuals with resonance disorders would require additional knowledge and skills.

The topic of the article considers the functioning of the renewable energy (RE) sector in Poland. This is really important in the context of the energy transition of the national economy because it influences the creation of modern technologies and increases the competitiveness and innovation of the country. Poland is in a process of energy transition where the RE sector has been developing for two decades. The authors aimed to research the RE sector improvement possibilities in Poland, including the influence of this sector on chosen social and economic aspects. Because of this research’s aim a critical situation assessment of RE in Poland was conducted and a survey of a group of experts in this field was also involved. Legal, physical and mental determinants and their influence on RE sector were looked into. In the legal determinant context a necessity to simplify relevant legislation acts in Poland was found. Undoubtedly there is a need to improve several legal acts, including the Distance Act. In physical determinants it was found that solar, wind and biomass energy have the biggest chances for development. In the case of mental determinants the authors paid attention to the need of educating the public about using and obtaining energy. It is also important to make people aware how the RE sector influences the low emission economy positively. This will improve the creation of new jobs and reduce the emissions of harmful substances to the environment.

With the raising of environmental concerns regarding pollution, interest in monitoring air quality is increasing. However, air pollution data is mostly originated from a limited number of government-owned sensors, which can only capture a small fraction of reality. Improving air quality coverage in-volves reducing the cost of sensors and making data widely available to the public. To this end, the NanoSen-AQM project proposes the usage of low-cost nano-sensors as the basis for an air quality monitoring platform, capa-ble of collecting, aggregating, processing, storing, and displaying air quality data. Being an end-to-end system, the platform allows sensor owners to manage their sensors, as well as define calibration functions, that can im-prove data reliability. The public can visualize sensor data in a map, define specific clusters (groups of sensors) as favorites and set alerts in the event of bad air quality in certain sensors. The NanoSen-AQM platform provides easy access to air quality data, with the aim of improving public health.

Assessment in educational institutions is mandated by the public and by accrediting organizations. Faculty must plan for program assessment within the context of the college or university goals and assessment projects. Within the department or college of nursing, student learning outcomes must be assessed at the total program level and at the course and classroom levels. Faculty who are motivated to plan assessments and use outcome data should take leadership in the process. The process consists of determining the outcomes to be assessed, the measures to be used, and the standards to be reached. When data has been collected, it must be evaluated and used to make improvements. Finally, the assessment process itself should be assessed. This article gives examples of assessment methods for all levels of assessment at the institution, but especially at the program and course levels. A departmental assessment blueprint is included. The end result of implementation of an assessment plan is that at every level of the institution, excellence should be enhanced.
