The effect of formula t-shirt method for scientists taught in science lessons in secondary schools on academic success

The aim of this research is to investigate whether there is a meaningful difference in the academic success, between the students who are applied the "formula t-shirt method" (experimental group) and the students who are not (in other classes of the school), in the education for the scientists wanted to be taught in the secondary school 5th, 6th and 7th grade science textbooks. Semi-experimental method was used as research method. In the 6th grade, 27 students participated in this study as experimental group (students wearing t-shirts) and 49 students in the other classes of the school that did not participate in the study. Academic achievement test including pre-test and post-test, informative observations, students’ and teacher’s interviews as well as 20 printed t-shirts were used to collect data. The pilot study of the developed achievement test was applied in another school and also the item analysis of it was performed. According to the research findings, when the experimental group’s success post-test results from the application performed, were examined in line with the interviews, significant differences were observed. It was seen that the subjects aimed to be gained with the formula t-shirt method, were adopted by the students and also increased their success. Looking at the results of the research, thanks to wearing the t-shirts prepared by using the human body on the background, and the reconciliation of the students wearing with the scientists on t-shirts, the desired learning was provided. This also contributed to such learning techniques as peer learning, active learning, social learning in terms of visuality and integrity. It is thought that these materials developed with the formula t-shirt method, will also inspire researchers for future studies in terms of their usability in other fields and subjects

This study was aimed to explore the effect of reconstruction activities on grade XI students’ English writing skills mechanical accuracy I (Punctuations) and mechanical accuracy II (Spellings). Pre-test post-test control group experimental design was selected for the study. A public sector degree college for boys of district Lahore was selected conveniently for intervention. A sample of sixty (60) students out of 400, enrolled in the session 2018-19, was selected randomly. These 60 students were randomized into two equal groups (experimental and control). Experimental group was taught till 16 weeks continuously. Students’ English writing skills were measured through supply type achievement test. Results revealed that reconstruction activities had positive effect on students’ English writing skills. English teachers of grade XI were recommended to practice reconstruction activities for the development of English writing skills. Students of grade XI were recommended to practice reconstruction activities to develop their English writing skills.

This article summarizes the study conducted to find out the effectiveness of guided writing in teaching composition. Fifty-two students of grade nine studying at Khelnechour Secondary School, Surkhet were the sample population of this research. The researcher requested one of the teachers to involve in the practical teaching for carrying out the research. The tests (pre-test and post test) were the major tools for data collection. The students were ranked from the first to the fifty-second position based on the results of the pre-test. They were divided into two groups based on odd-even ranking of the individual scores. Then, experimental group was taught through guided writing activities whereas controlled group was taught without guided writing activities. Each groups attended thirty lessons. Then the post-test was administered. The results of these two tests (Pre and Post) were compared and found that guided writing activities were more effective in teaching composition. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of using Prezi on Al Zaytoonah students’ performance in French Language reading skill. To achieve the purpose of the study, a pre/post-test was constructed to measure students’ performance in French language reading skill. The sample of the study comprised 128 students from Al Zaytoonah University and was distributed into two sections, which were selected purposefully. The sample of the study was distributed into two groups (one experimental and one control groups). The experimental group’s students were taught the reading skill using Prezi while the control groups’ students were taught using the traditional way. The sample of the study was 64 students in the experimental group and 64 students in the control group. Those groups were distributed into two purposefully selected sections in public schools in Amman. The results of the study showed a variance in the means of the achievement test according to group, it also showed that there were statistically significant differences on the achievement test due to the Strategy variable. There were statistically significant differences between using Prezi Strategy and the Current Strategy in favor of the Prezi Strategy, and there was no statistically significant difference in the students’ achievement due to gender. There was no statistically significant difference due to the interaction between gender and group. The researchers recommend that researchers focus on new teaching strategies and conduct more studies related this topic. They also recommend that other researchers conduct studies and focus on the role play strategy.

The aim of the study was to clear-out the effect of the round house strategy on the achievement of physical concepts at the ninth grade. The study consisted of (48) students at the Jufa Secondary School for girls for the second semester 2018/2019, distributed randomly to two divisions in the same school, one of which was experimental and the other experimental. This study found that there was a statistically significant difference in the post-test in the students' acquisition of physical concepts at (α = 0.05) between the average performance of the experimental group studied using the circular house strategy and obtained an average of (19.70), and the control group studied in the usual way and obtained Average (14.63), in favor of the experimental group. In light of these results, the researcher recommended using the circular house strategy because of its importance in gaining physical concepts among students. In light of these results, the researcher recommended using the round house strategy and its role in acquiring physical concepts in demand

    The study aimed to determine the numerical sense skills that can be developed using participatory electronic games for fourth-grade students, used the semi-experimental approach, and the study sample consisted of (40) female students The fourth elementary school was divided into two groups, an experimental group of 20 students, who studied the skill of numerical sense through participatory electronic learning games, and a group of 20 students who studied the skill of numerical sense in the traditional learning method; Where the two groups applied to the pre / post achievement test, and the study found that the experimental group students exceeded the control group in the post test. The higher levels of the experimental group students in the post-test than their degrees in the pre-test in the achievement test, and thus the study for the effectiveness of the electronic study Participatory skill development in the numerical sense of mathematics course for female students of experimental group compared to female students of control group.

This quasi-experimental study aimed to assess the effects of a music and writing program on lexical spelling in Grade 2 elementary school students. A music and writing program was developed and tested in an experimental group ( n = 24) comprising a Grade 2 class in a French-language elementary school in Québec (Canada). Another Grade 2 class at the same school served as a control group ( n = 23). Both groups were assessed for lexical spelling in January and May. Group comparison of the post-test results on performance and progress in lexical spelling showed significantly better scores for the experimental over the control group.

This research was aimed at finding whether or not the use of digital storytelling and dictionary can improve students’ vocabulary mastery. To get the answer of the defined research questions, the researcher used quantitative approach and quasi experimental design. The research had been done in SMPN 1 Cilamaya Wetan, and took two classes as sample, namely, 8G and 8H with 40 respondents in each class. There were three steps in this research, namely pre-test, treatment, and post-test. Pre-test was held in both classes to know students’ vocabulary mastery before the treatment. After doing pretest, treatment was held in experimental class by using digital storytelling and dictionary, that used the technology such as infocus, projector, speaker, and LCD in which the materials were taken from youtube, while control class only  used song lyrics. In the next step, posttest was held in both classes to know the improvement after the treatment in experimental class. The data of the study were analyzed by using SPSS version 22 for windows. This research findings showed that experimental group had higher vocabulary score than control group. It can be seen from the posttest mean of experimental group was 74.75 , while the mean of control group was 60,62. Meanwhile, the average of normality gained in experimental group was 0.37  and the average of normality gained in control group was 0.075. Thus, the improvement of students’ vocabulary mastery by using digital storytelling and dictionary in experiemental group is greater than using song in control group. It can be concluded that digital storytelling and dictionary improves vocabulary mastery of eight grader of SMPN 1 Cilamaya Wetan.Keywords: vocabulary mastery, digital storytelling, dictionary

ملخص البحث:في عصر تتزايد فيه التحديات والعقبات، يتطلب ذلك منا رفع مستوى الوعي وتحديد فعالية التقنية، وإتقان الأداء في كل مجال نتعامل به، ومنها ما يتعلق بعملية تعليم اللغة العربية بوصفها لغة ثانية لأبناء المسلمين، وفي بيئة غير بعيدة عن العربية وبدافع ديني خالص. في ضوء ذلك، تستهدف هذه الدراسة إبراز ظاهرة احتياجية هؤلاء الأبناء إلى الوسيلة الخاصة في تحقيق طموحاتهم تجاه اللغة، وبالنظر إلى تجربة استخدام طريقة الكلمة المفتاحية في اكتساب المفردات العربية في المدرسة الثانوية الوطنية بماليزيا، تمّ جمع بياناتها من ست تجارب، وتتألف عينة الدراسة من 240 طالبًا وطالبةً، موزعين بين المجموعة التجريبية والمجموعة الضابطة لتعلم 110 كلمات. وطُلب من المجموعة التجريبية استخدام طريقة الكلمة المفتاحية في تذكر المفردات، بينما طُلب من المجموعة الضابطة تذكر المفردات بالطريقة التي يفضلونها، ثم أجري عليهم الاختبار المؤجل والفوري فردياًّ. وأظهرت النتائج تفوق المجموعة التجريبية على المجموعة الضابطة في كل التجاري التي أجريت، وأشارت النتائج المحللة من الاستبانة إلى أن طريقة الكلمة المفتاحية مُعِينة للذاكرة، وبإمكانها تسهيل تذكر مفردات اللغة العربية، واستثارة دوافع الطلبة إلى تعلمها. وخلص  البحث إلى أن طريقة الكلمة المفتاحية تُعَدُّ من ضمن استراتيجيات تعلم مفردات اللغة الثانية التي يمكن استخدامها في اكتساب مفردات اللغة العربية، وذلك لإيجابيتها وفعّاليّتها في تسهيل تعلم معاني المفردات وسرعة استدعائها عند الحاجة. الكلمات المفتاحية: التعليم- التعلم- التقنيات- الكلمات المفتاحية- التحليل.Abstract:The era of increasing challenges that we live in requires us to be aware of the importance of improving the effectiveness of the methods and techniques as well as the overall performance in the fields that we are involved in, which are among others, the teaching of Arabic as a second language in the non-native setting with the religious purpose as the only factor. This paper presents the needs of those students to a method that would help them learn the language through the use of keywords method in enriching their vocabulary stock. Six experiments were conducted with more than 240 students divided into the experimental and the control groups. 110 words were given; the experimental group were given the keyword method while the control group were given the choice to learn them through their preferred method. A summative and instant exams were conducted individually. The result is that the experimental group proved to be more competent than the control one. The questionnaire also revealed that the keyword method did help the students significantly to learn and motive the acquisition of vocabularies. Therefore, the keyword method is proven to be one of the effective strategies in learning new words as it affects positively the process of learning new words and be quickly used as needed.Keywords: Teaching– Learning– Techniques– Words– Analysis.Abstrak:Pada zaman yang semakin banyak cabarannya, kita perlu meningkatkan pengetahuan, memastikan keberkesanan sesuatu teknik serta memperbaiki pencapaian dalam bidang-bidang berkaitan. Antara bidang-bidang tersebut ialah pengajaran Bahasa Arab sebagai bahasa kedua kepada orang-orang Islam dalam suasana yang tidak jauh daripada bahasa tersebut dengan bertunjangkan faktor agama semata-mata. Berdasarkan perkara tersebut, maka kajian ini berhasrta untuk melihat fenomena yang memperlihatkan keperluan pelajar kepada satu kaedah tertentu  demi untuk memenuhi aspirasi mereka terhadap bahasa tersebut. Berdasarkan kepada kajian terhadap penggunaan teknik kata kunci yang dijalankan secara enam peringkat terhadap 240 pelajar sekolah menengah kebangsaan Malaysia yang dibahagikan kepada dua kumpulan: eksperimen dan kawalan. Kumpulan eksperimen diminta menggunakan teknik kata kunci untuk mengingati perkataan-perkataan, manakala kumpulan kawalan diminta mengingati perkataan-perkataan dengan menggunakan teknik mereka sendiri. Lalu setiap seorang pelajar diuji melalui dua jenis ujian: tertangguh dan segera.  Hasil ujian menunjukkan bahawa kumpulan eksperimen mengatasi kumpulan kawalan dalam setiap peringkat. Dengan itu, teknik kata kunci terbukti membantu serta memudahkan pelajar mengingati perkataan-perkataan bahasa Arab, seterusnya meningkatkan motivasi untuk mempelajari bahasa Arab. Kesimpulannya, teknik ini terbukti sebagai salah satu strategi menguasai perbendaharaan kata bahasa Arab kerana keberkesanannya serta kemampuan pelajar mengingat kembali perkataan secara cepat.Kata kunci: Pengajaran– Pembelajaran– Teknik– Kata Kunci- Analisa.

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of sainsmatika-based storybooks to improve environmental awareness for students. The experimental research design was used in this study, which involved two classes, namely the control class and the experimental class. Each class consisted of 30 students. The research subjects were 60 students of grade 4 students consisting of 36 female students and 24 male students. The analysis process used an independent t-sample test to find out the differences in each outcome. The results showed that based on the gain value obtained, it found out that the average value of the pre-test results in the control class was 49.47 and the posttest result was 67.41. This showed that the increasing score in the pre-test and post-test control classes only reached 2.34 which can be classified as low. Whereas in the experimental class, the results showed that the average pre-test results in the experimental class was 52.63, and the post-test results were 78.90. It means that the students' environmental awareness on pre-test and post-test results were 3.48, which was in the medium category. The results of the experimental research showed that the use of sainsmatika-based storybooks has a significant impact on students' environmental awareness. The results of hypothesis testing on environmental awareness variables showed that there were significant differences between the control group and the experimental group. The experimental group was better than the control group (t count 3.124 at level p 0.01).

Courselab can be able to make the lessons more varied and fun, so that adds to the interest of students to participate in learning. This study aims to determine whether the use courselab effective in improving students' mathematics learning outcomes. This study is an experimental research conducted in class VIII MTs Guppi Tompe Luwu Utara. The samples are saturated sample consisting of all students of class VIII MTs Guppi Tompe consisting of two classes, namely class VIII A of 27 students (grade control) and VIII B class consisting of 22 students (experimental group). The instrument used is the achievement test. Descriptive analysis of pre-test the control class and experimental class was flat at 53.40 and 52.68. This means that both classes have the same level of learning outcomes. Meanwhile, the results of the descriptive analysis of post-test on the control and experimental classes are 55.55 and 76.77. Thus, it appears that the use of media courselab effective in improving learning outcomes math class VIII MTs Guppi Tompe.
