In recent times, there is an increase in the utilization of the ride-hail service (viz., mobile application-based shared service) by the younger generation due to tremendous changes in technology, extensive usage of smartphones, and perceived convenience during travelling. For evaluating ride-hail service further, it is necessary to understand the user perception towards the ride-hail service and public transportation system (viz., bus in this case) to efficiently plan the public transportation services. Hence, the present study analyzes user perception while making trips, using ride-hail service and public transport buses. A long stretch of 3.8 km has been selected in the Nagpur city for the study and the stretch attracts a good number of trips by ride-hailing and public transportation. To perform the analysis, a survey has been conducted in the stretch which includes an online survey (viz., based on the Google form) and an offline survey (viz., at selected bus stops on the route between university campus and shopping complex). A binary logit model has been developed to understand the user perception towards ride-hail service and to identify the significant contributing factors towards the preference of the ride-hail service over the public transport bus. From the model results, it has been noted that age, accessibility, waiting time, travel time, income, and travel cost of the trip are the most significant contributing factors that affect user decision for availing the ride-hail service. It has been concluded from the study that the inferences obtained would be useful in the direction of developing warrants for transport planners and policymakers to improve the service quality of public transport buses (viz., frequency and routes) in cities especially in the Indian context.

Although the construction of public transport infrastructure is underway, the poor quality of the pedestrian paths may result in users being reluctant to use public transport. Therefore, a method to find out the walking path according to the user's desire to travel is needed. This study aims to determine the factors formed and the influence of socials-demographic characteristics on the desire to walk to and from public transportation stations in Indonesia. The statements contained in the questionnaire were made based on the walkability index that has been used previously in several countries and confirmed by factor analysis. The results of the factor analysis showed that from the 13 variables tested, there were 4 variables which were reduced until the remaining 9 variables formed 2 factors. The two factors are the convenience factor and the practicality and safety factor. socials-demographic factors such as age, gender, walking frequency, walking distance, place of residence, walking purpose, and monthly expenses did not have a significant influence on the pleasantness factor as well as the practicability and safety factor.ABSTRAKMeskipun pembangunan infrastruktur transportasi umum sedang dilakukan, kualitas jalur pejalan kaki yang buruk dapat mengakibatkan pengguna enggan untuk menggunakan transportasi umum.

The city of Moscow has implemented a new management model for surface urban passenger transportation (NMM). To consistently monitor the quality of transportation services it is suggested to introduce a methodology of its assessment. The methodology for assessing quality of public transport services is supposed to be tested on routes serviced by commercial enterprises under state contracts for provision of public transportation services by public transport on the routes of regular passenger and baggage transportation by road in urban traffic. The objective of the research was to select objects in order to test the methodology for assessing quality of public transportation services provided by surface urban public mass transit (SUPMT) on routes serviced in the framework of NMM. A scientifically substantiated partition of a given sample of routes has been performed. The routes have been classified using the classical method of hierarchical cluster analysis, where the Euclidean distance with a single rule of cluster joining was used as a measure of proximity. The clustering procedure was performed using the Ward method. Based on the results of the cluster analysis, ten routes were selected that are subject to further analysis.

Problem. The need to develop and implement city passenger transport management systems is explained by the current trend to account the integrated efficiency of technological processes implementation within enterprises, transport infrastructure and socio-ecological environment. Also, the assessment of management efficiency should reflect the list of requirements to social significance of public transportation quality. The introduction of city passenger transport management system is a complex task that requires development and formalization of the apparatus for identification and structural multilevel analysis of the quality of public transportation as a fundamental tool for assessing its effectiveness. Methodology. By adapting the principles of identification and structural analysis to syntactic structural models of describing the quality of transportation and establishing the basic production connection of its change, a set of instrumental directions for city public passenger transport management is stressed through formalization of processes within the basic levels of their evaluation. Identification and structural analysis of city passenger transport means establishing a general algorithm for forming a hierarchy of problematic tasks of ensuring the quality of transportation and find effective measures to solve them in a multivariate management. The formed structure of the complex adaptive resonant model of passenger transport management is based on establishing the classification signs of public transportation quality and contains the basic layers of comparison and recognition of conditions for its maintenance. Originality. The situational and structural approach is offered as an invariant basis for the system analysis of difficult objects when implementing the principles of complex management of city passenger transport. It is proposed to approach the choice of the structural modeling apparatus that satisfies the selected requirements of the strategic management of city passenger transport from the standpoint of the possibilities of syntactic formalization of descriptions of its levels and the tasks of identification and structural analysis. Practical value. Based on the principles of adaptive resonance theory, the structure of the model of multilevel coordination of local control parameters is developed and a sequence of their quantitative comparative evaluation is formed according to the basic units corresponding to strategic types of city passenger transport management: improving mobility and quality of transportation, economic incentives, resource efficiency of transport infrastructure, road safety, environmental impact. The developed general structure of the contour of integrated city public transport management allows in prospect to form a model of multilevel coordination of local parameters and is a methodological basis for implementation of automated decision support systems.

Development of the health resort activities on the territory of Sverdlovsk region - an important and controversial factor, which is reflected in low rates and current problems of development. They are connected with the development peculiarities of the region, natural conditions, and availability of federal and regional programs. Necessity for the organization of health resort activities related to its significant impact on the social and economic situation of the region. Sverdlovsk region is an industrial urban area that, apart from the advantages, creates certain problems for the population. These include health deterioration, increasing of mortality and morbidity, reducing of natural population growth, deterioration of health, which leads to a reduction of the rate of economic development. That is why the region needs to organize health resort activity. Recreational potential of Sverdlovsk region is considered to be healthy, and it is caused by a boundary position of the region in Europe and Asia, political stability, which guarantees the security of any type of tourist activity. In addition, the high cultural and historical heritage of the area determines the long-term development of tourism in general. Nevertheless, the author of the article notes the presence of a significant number of problems, such as the need for recreational activities in urban and industrialized territories, but civil and industrial development area limit the possibility of recreation. Load regulation system on the natural systems of certain recreation areas is absent, and it causes a significant increasing of load and violation of the integrity of ecosystems. Many resort areas and other major activity centers are facing transportation challenges as rising traffic congestion erodes the quality of a visitor’s experience. Many resort areas have turned to public transportation as an alternative strategy for visitor circulation, but these services often become enmeshed in the same traffic jam that they were intended to circumvent. The city of Virginia Beach, Virginia, undertook an aggressive, long-term effort to establish and enhance an effective transit circulation in its beachfront resort area through a combination of physical design improvements and operational management. The development and implementation of the combination strategy are described, and lessons learned that are relevant to other resort-area transit-circulator services are outlined.

The quality of service is a measurement of the level of service provided against the expectations of customers. This research examines the behaviour of passengers using public transport with respect to the service quality of public transit. A questionnaire was answered by 412 passengers at one of the main railway stations, Kuala Lumpur Sentral. Empirical data were extracted based on the information collected from the survey. Structural equation modelling was used to examine the measurement model. The findings of the study reveal that public transport passengers are significantly influenced by service attributes, for example, vehicle safety, cleanliness of the facility, and management of complaints. These findings identify the important service attributes that public transportation services in Kuala Lumpur need to prioritise. This study will help ascertain whether service quality meets or exceeds the expectations of the passengers.

The lack of integrated territorial and transportation planning in Irkutsk and Irkutsk agglomeration has led to the degradation of transport infrastructure. A number of measures are proposed to improve the efficiency of the transport system, including the elaboration of a development plan for sustainable mobility with a focus on public transportation services for urban areas. The use of modern transport modeling tools allows to take into account the negative consequences of reducing transport accessibility, but requires the integration of accumulated information about the characteristics of the service areas to increase the accuracy of transport forecasts.
