AbstrakBangsa Indonesia adalah bangsa sejuta ragam budaya. Salah satunya kesenian Carita Pantun, kesenian ini tumbuhkembang pada masyarakat Sunda di Provinsi Jawa Barat dan Banten. Kini kesenian ini memprihatinkan karena jarang tampil dan pendukungnya kurang. Upaya pelestarian dapat dilakukan dengan mendokumentasikan cerita dan mengkajinya. Pada kesempatan ini penulis akan mengkaji Carita Pantun Sawung Galing. Batasan penelitian melingkupi nilai budaya yang terkandung dalam Carita Pantun Sawung Galing dan apa yang dimaksud dengan Carita Pantun? Penelitian bertujuan untuk mendapatkan gambaran yang lengkap tentang Carita Pantun Sawung Galing. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian deskriptif. Simpulan, Tokoh Sawung Galing yang bernama Raden Rangga Sawung Galing adalah tokoh heroik Sang Penakluk karena enam kerajaan dapat direbut dan dikuasainya. Selain perkasa kepribadian tokoh menjadi teladan bagi anak bangsa karena memiliki jiwa religius yang tersirat dalan nilai agama, jiwa sosial yang mengagumkan tersirat dalam nilai sosial, semangat kerja tersirat dalam nilai etos kerja. Abstract Indonesia is a nation with the abundance of cultural diversity among traditional arts. One of the traditional arts that highlighted is Carita Pantun. This art is growing and developing in the Sundanese people in the province of West Java and Banten. Carita Pantun is included to a traditional art whose existence is quite alarming because it is very rarely performed and it has few supporters. Conservation efforts should be made of them by documenting the stories are superbly presented and assess the value of culture. Here, the writer examines Carita Pantun Sawung Galing. The limitation of the study is poured in the form of a question that what are the cultural values contained in Carita Pantun Sawung Galing? What is meant by Carita Pantun? The research aims to obtain a complete picture of Carita Pantun Sawung Galing. In conclusion, there are many cultural values of the nation which has not been revealed so that the younger generation does not recognize and know more about the foreign characters. Galing Sawung figure, whose full name is Raden Rangga Sawung Galing, is a conqueror heroic figure since there are six captured and mastered kingdoms.

<p>This paper examines the process of seeding or training of Sundanese Song Cianjuran by artists in Sumedang regency that is conducted by a stakeholder of Sundanese traditional arts. The study was conducted using descriptive analytic methods, and data collection was done through observation and interviews. Results from the study explained that stakeholder participation was vital and influential towards the existence of Sundanese Song Cianjuran, especially in growing cultural awareness and in generating candidates for local traditional artists.</p><p><strong>How to Cite:</strong> Julia. ABSTRAKSI: Penelitian ini menjelaskan perkembangan kesenian Angklung Buncis di Kecamatan Cigugur, Kabupaten Kuningan, Jawa Barat, yang memiliki peranan penting dalam upacara Seren Taun yang diadakan oleh masyarakat adat Paseban. Masalah utama yang dibahas adalah bagaimana perkembangan kesenian Angklung Buncis di Kecamatan Cigugur, Kabupaten Kuningan, pada tahun 1980-2010. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi historis dan budaya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesenian Angklung Buncis di Kecamatan Cigugur, Kabupaten Kuningan berada dalam lingkup masyarakat adat Paseban dan lahir melalui ide kreatif sesepuh adat, yaitu Pangeran Djatikusumah. Terdapat perkembangan fungsi dalam kesenian tradisional Angklung Buncis, yakni dari fungsi sakral berubah menjadi hiburan dan profan. Perkembangan fungsi tersebut terjadi karena permalasahan yang terdapat dalam lingkup masyarakat adat Paseban dan tuntutan zaman. Selain itu, ada perubahan dalam aspek penampilan, lagu, jumlah pemain, dan laras dalam kesenian Angklung Buncis, dengan tujuan untuk mempertahankan keberlangsungan kesenian tradisional tersebut di tengah-tengah perkembangan teknologi yang semakin maju. KATA KUNCI: Angklung Buncis; Masyarakat Cigugur; Agama Djawa-Sunda; Upacara Seren Taun; Tradisi dan Globalisasi. ABSTRACT: “From Sacral to Profan: Ups and Down of Angklung Buncis Art in Kuningan District, West Java, Year 1980-2010”. This study describes the development of Angklung Buncis Art in Cigugur Subdistrict, Kuningan District, West Java, Indonesia, which has an important role in “Seren Taun” ceremony which held by indigenous peoples of Paseban. The main issue discussed was how the Angklung Buncis Art can be develop in 1980-2010. The method used in this research is qualitative with historical study and cultural approaches. The results showed that the Angklung Buncis Art in Cigugur, Kuningan are within the scope of indigenous peoples of Paseban and born through creative ideas from Prince Djatikusumah. There are developments in the functions of the traditional arts of Angklung Buncis, namely from sacred function turned into entertainment and profan. The development of these functions occur because contained within the scope of indigenous peoples Paseban and globalization. Kebudayaan adalah salah satu komponen yang menunjukkan jati diri kita sebagai sebuah bangsa. Nilai kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam seni budaya seyogyanya mampu mendorong semangat kecintaan pada kehidupan manusia dan bangsa. Kearifan lokal yang terkandung dalam seni dan budaya merupakan referensi yang bermanfaat, terutama dalam rangka edukasi generasi muda. Sementara di sisi lain, teknologi sebagai hasil kebudayaan yang bersifat fisik dianggap mereduksi nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam adat istiadat, agama, dan kesenian. Faktor-faktor yang menjadi tantangan bagi budaya lokal adalah perubahan tata nilai-nilai budaya dalam masyarakat serta matinya bentuk-bentuk seni tradisi di Indonesia, khususnya Jawa Barat, yang disebabkan oleh ideologi digital dan acuhnya generasi muda akan pentingnya nilai seni dan budaya lokal. Maka, dipandang perlu menumbuhkan kesadaran bagi generasi muda untuk lebih memahami budaya yang dimilikinya melalui edukasi seni pertunjukkan reak. Merujuk pada fenomena-fenomena di atas, kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Pencarian atau pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka guna mendalami seni Reak sebagai ritual, hiburan, dan memperkokoh integritas kebangsaan berdasarkan semangat Pancasila.Kata Kunci : Nilai, Kebudayaan, Kearifan Lokal, Reak, Pancasila, Disrupsi Culture is one component that shows our identity as a nation. The value of local wisdom contained in cultural arts should be able to encourage a spirit of love for human life and the nation. Local wisdom contained in art and culture is a useful reference, especially in the context of educating the younger generation. While on the other hand, technology as a physical cultural product is considered to reduce the values contained in customs, religion and art. Factors that challenge local culture are changes in cultural values in society and the death of traditional art forms in Indonesia, especially West Java, which is caused by digital ideology and the youth's indifference to the importance of local artistic and cultural values. Thus, it is deemed necessary to raise awareness for the younger generation to better understand their culture through education on reak performing arts. Referring to the above phenomena, this service activity uses a qualitative approach which is analyzed descriptively. Search or data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and literature study in order to explore the art of Reak as a ritual, entertainment, and strengthen national integrity based on the spirit of Pancasila..Keywords: Values, Culture, Local Wisdom, Reak, Pancasila, Disruption

This paper discusses the biography of K.H. Abdul Halim, a cleric, educator, political activist, a national hero, who was born in Jatiwangi, Majalengka, West Java on June 26, 1887 and died on May 7, 1962, in a peaceful and quiet place, Santi Asromo, Majalengka. The title of the National Hero from the Government of Indonesia was granted on the basis of his important roles in education, economics and politics. Among his legacy are the religious educational institutions, namely Santi Asromo Pesantren, the religious organization of the Islamic Ummah Union (PUI), and several books such as the Kitab Petunjuk bagi Sekalian Manusia (Manual for Man), Ekonomi dan Koperasi dalam Islam (Economics and Cooperative in Islam), dan Ketetapan Pengajaran di Sekolah Ibtidaiyah Persyarikatan Ulama (The Teaching Decrees at Ibtidaiyah Persyarikatan Ulama School). His biography is a manifestation of appreciation for his services and works, his struggle and his devotion to science and people, as well as his role and contribution in building the nation of Indonesia with noble character and dignity. Another milestone of his is the value of the struggle and at the same time his Islamic scholarship can be an example for the younger generation in particular and for anyone who aspires to build a nation of Indonesia which is based on the Belief in One God, fair and civilized, united in the context of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI). Ia memiliki nama kecil Otong Syatori, dikenal sebagai ulama pejuang, pendidik, dan aktivis politik. Ia dilahirkan di Desa Ciborelang, Kecamatan Jatiwangi, Majalengka, Jawa Barat, pada 26 Juni 1887, dan wafat dalam usia 75 tahun pada 7 Mei 1962, di Santi Asromo, Majalengka. Ia mendapat gelar Pahlawan Nasional dari Pemerintah RI tahun 2008. Perjuangannya meliputi pendidikan, ekonomi, dan politik. Adapun metode yang digunakan dalam tulisan ini adalah deskriptif-analitis dengan perspektif historis. Adapun fokusnya, selain biog¬rafi singkat K.H. Abdul Halim, juga tentang konsep pendidikan eko¬no¬mi berbasis pesantren. Dari hasil pembahasan ditemukan bahwa ia telah melakukan pembaharuan di bidang pendidikan agama dan sekaligus memberikan keterampilan kewirausahaan bagi santri dan lulusannya. Awalnya gagasan tersebut berasal dari konsep pembaharuannya yang disebut Iṣlāḥ as-Ṡamāniyyah, yaitu: perbaikan akidah, ibadah, pendidikan, keluarga, kebiasaan (adat), masyarakat, ekonomi, dan hubungan umat dan tolong-menolong. Di bidang pendidikan, ia memadukan sistem pesantren dengan sistem sekolah, ilmu-ilmu agama dengan ilmu-ilmu umum, serta memberkali para santrinya dengan berbagai keterampilan tangan dan keahlian teknik. Di bidang ekonomi, disebutnya dengan Iṣlāḥ al-Iqtiṣād, untuk menanggulangi ketimpangan ekonomi di masyarakat, yaitu dengan menanamkan kesadaran kepada kaum muslimin agar berusaha memperbai¬ki dan meningkatkan kehidupan ekonominya dan berjuang secara bersama-sama melalui wadah koperasi. Banyuwangi Jaranan Dance is a traditional art that is rich in artistic and cultural values, this dance is also very thick to the impression of magical and spiritual value. Jaranan dance is a very famous art in banyuwangi spread in several districts, such as District Banyuwangi, Kabat, Rogojampi, Kalipuro, Licin, Singonjuruh, Rogojampi, Giri and Glagah district. The usual research on Jaranan has been done a lot. From several studies on jaranan, this study is very different from the initial research that focuses on the initial research of jaranan art, the values / meaning of jaranan art, the art of jaranan performance, and the art of jaranan performance. This research is more focused on the culture of "Kesurupan" which includes the process of ritual possession, the meaning of possession and culture in ritual jaranan Banyuwangi. Researchers took data in three sub-districts of Banyuwangi, namely Jaranan Baluk Group, Glagah sub-district, Jaranan Karang Asem Group and Giri Sub-District, Tresno Budoyo Jaranan Group. Researchers use qualitative descriptive method with data recognition techniques, interviews and documentation.

Traditional arts and professions are the carriers of our culture because they carry historical background. For this reason, traditional arts and professions and cultural heritage are easily transferred to future generations. While knife was a tool that facilitated human life in the early periods, it turned into an art in time. The art of knife and the techniques and methods used in this art have been used for many years in history. Today, there are many artists who want to prevent the art of knife from turning into a craft. They intend to take this art to an even more advanced level. In this study, we interviewed three artists as samples who dealt with knifemaking by addressing the art of knife in Düzce. Interviews and works with the artists are visualized in this work. Thus, what has been done about the art of knife in Düzce, which methods and techniques are applied have been revealed. Along with the previous methods applied to this art, traditional Turkish arts such as marbling, illumination and miniature were used as a surface decoration technique in the art of knife which is a branch of Turkish metal arts. The aim of the study is to show the path that knife art has taken from its historical background to the present day and to show the feasibility of new methods in this field and thus to indicate that knife art is open to development. It is believed that this work, in which interviews and images obtained are evaluated using a descriptive analysis, will contribute to literature related to traditional art and the art of knife. The present chapter presents the results of a study carried out within the Romanian culture and civilization classes taught to the foreign students in the preparatory year. Our goal was not only to familiarize them with Romanian culture, but also to help them better interact and function as a homogeneous group, in spite of their cultural diversity. The paper aims at studying to what degree cultural diversity and identity marks specific to students coming from various countries can be used to facilitate their adaptation to the culture and mentality of the host country and to a multicultural group. Among many aspects regarding Romanian traditional culture and civilization, we included information related to Romanian food and eating habits. Such a topic cannot be neglected if we take into account the fact that individual needs constitute a real issue in the adaptation of a multicultural group to a new culture and lifestyle.

This study aims to determine the process of knowing the organization of homeless and beggar coaching by the Social Rehabilitation Office of West Java Province. In addition, it is also important to know the assistance process carried out by the Social Rehabilitation Office for homeless people who have participated in the rehabilitation program. The method used in this research is descriptive method with a qualitative approach. Descriptive method aims to describe or provide a complete picture of the effectiveness of the social rehabilitation program of the Bina Karya Social Rehabilitation Office.  The results showed that in general the program of activities held at the Rehabilitation Office was very influential on the client, despite the slight changes experienced by the clients. Basically, of the many programs held at the hall, the most influencing of the lives of these clients is the skill activities.

As one part of local wisdom, traditional art of Ngarak Pengantin Buaya Putih in Padarincang Village, Serang Regency experienced various dimensions of change in facing social change. The tendency is that people are slowly starting to display the outside culture in the wedding. This indicates a social change in Padarincang society, this social change is characterized by the reluctance of some younger generation to preserve the arts of " Ngarak Pengantin Buaya Putih ". The purpose of this study is to find out how the representation of cultural communication of White Buaya bride in the changes of social change at this time, the identification of efforts made in maintaining the traditional arts of white crocodile bride, the obstacles faced and the model of cultural communication in social change. The method used in this study is phenomenology with data collection techniques using interviews, observation and documentation. The results of the study and discussion show that the interaction and transactional communication model between Padarincang community and the outside community has resulted in the impact of social change which resulted in the local cultural stragnation. Although Padarincang society still strives to maintain the existence of art of " Ngarak Pengantin Buaya Putih " in the middle of social change and communication model that occurs in a responsive and transactional interaction. Various efforts of the stakeholders have been done in maintaining the existence of art of white crocodiles bride like the presence of sanggar, socialization and appreciation of local art displays in various community activities.

Abstract: Rangraken Sawag is one manifestation of an agrarian culture in District Cipatujah, Tasikmalaya, West Java. This culture in unique because it contains a high aesthetic, in addition to its usefulness in helping farmers maintain the fields. The existence of this culture are now showing symptoms  of decline. People are starting to forget this thing., especially the younger generation. Therefore, in a series of conservation activities organized by the food culture Community Service team Padjadjaran University and assisted by Sunda Pakidulan Dangiang community, local government officials and community leaders, the recontruction has been initiated especially for children. The Purpose of this implementation to reintroduce, instill a love, and fostering cultural creativity based society. Keyword: Reconstruction, Education, Children.
