Biology as the science of life is designed ultimately to educate individuals so that they can acquire knowledge about the basic essentials of living things and those of their community. Therefore, In this paper, we want to examine whether the students experiences in Biology Class will accomplish understanding and success in the learning outcome. Our sample is 500 Secondary School II students in Akinyele Local Government of Oyo state, in Biology Class. We used a survey design of the correlational type. Instruments used are Students Attitude to Biology Questionnaire (r=0.83), Science Experiences Inventory in Biology (r=0.72), and Students Achievement Test in Biology (r=0.76). The study reveals that the relative effect of Science experiences on attitude (?=0.228, t = 5.128; p<0.05) was significant, a negative, non-significant relationship between science experience (r = -0.024; p>0.05) and students’ achievement in Biology. Therefore, the findings of the study show that Science experience was the independent variable that strongly predicts students' attitude to Biology. Students should therefore be exposed to science experiences that will enhance a better attitude to Biology.

AbstractStudies have shown that Nigerians have a poor reading culture which could be as a result of several factors including unavailability of print resources. Literature has revealed that the quality of reading by secondary school students in Edo State was regrettably on the decline and that inadequate use of print resources was a major factor. The descriptive survey design of correlational type was adopted for the study. Stratified multi-stage sampling technique was adopted in selecting participants for this study. Fifty percent was used to select nine local governments, 10 % to select public and private secondary schools from the already selected nine local governments, making a total of 65 schools. From each of the selected 65 schools, a sampling fraction of 11 % was used to select a total of 895 students for the study. A questionnaire was used for students while an interview checklist was used for school principals in justification of the students’ responses. Regression analysis (at 0.05 level of significance) was used to analyse the data. Findings revealed that secondary school students in Edo State have print resources readily available, while secondary school students had a poor reading culture with the weighted average of 3.06. The effect of print resources (β = 0.141; p < 0.05) in predicting students’ reading culture was significant. Conclusively, the study showed that secondary school students in Edo State have a poor reading culture irrespective of the availability of print resources.

Many students find it difficult to accept fraction material from the teacher because student are more receptive to material through the surrounding environment such as fruit, bread, marbles, stones, etc. The purpose of this researchs to determine student learning outcome whether thereis influence when use the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model of mathematics subject matter in the 4th grade SDN Jombatan IV Jombang. This type of research is PreExperimental Design, the design used is one-group pretest -posttest design. The study focus on student learning outcomes in fraction material with the CTL model. Based on research that has been done, it can seen than more than 90% of students can achieve KKM value. In testing the test-t if the value of t is greater than t table then the hypothesis is accepted. It is evident from the results of the study that tcount = 5.344219271 and ttable = 2.178812827, which means that it has a strong signification shows that there is an influencer on student learning outcomes. The one-party test, it turns out that tcount falls in the area of acceptance of Ha, which the result test shows menunjukkan thitung ˃ ttabel so that the conclusion are Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So it can be said that learning uses Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) can affect of student learning outcomes.
