Bandung is a city highly vulnerable to disasters (such as volcano eruption, floods). Preparation for dealing with disasters is a must to increase an effective response and reduce disaster risk. The purpose of the research is to develop a model of urban community readiness, especially the city of Bandung, in the face of impending disasters so that the factors affecting the preparedness behavior in the face of disasters. The sample for this research are 70 resident in Bandung were interviewed by using a questionnaire about adopting a set of behaviors for preparing for the disaster when it occurred. The factors identified include attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, perception of risk, and behavior. The research also collects information on social demographic factors and respondents' experiences in dealing with disasters so that the research can explain the relationship between socio-environmental characteristics adopted from the theory of planned behavior. This research provides different insights into the relationship between attitude, perceived behavioral control, subjective norm, risk perception, and disaster preparedness behavior. This research shows that risk perception has a positive impact on disaster preparedness behavior and statistically significant.

This study aims to identify the factors affecting the intention to use credit cards in Vietnam. Previous empirical studies on planned and actual behaviors showed that customers decide to own and use credit cards through their awareness of credit cards, including perceived usefulness, perceived behavioral control and subjective norm. To collect the data, we use structured self-administered questionnaires from 426 respondents making payments through bank accounts. The findings show that perceived usefulness, perceived behavioral control and subjective norm have a positive impact on credit card adoption among Vietnamese consumers. This study also supposes that customers from different demographics have different intentions to use credit cards. Some recommendations are made to improve the effects of banks’ policies on credit card application and use.


Halal transportation services is one of the crucial components of producing Halal products. Since Halal is unique and involves elaborate regulations and executions, therefore it requires huge investment. Like any other supply chain, the transportation cost will be transferred to the end users, normally the customers, thus increasing the price of final products. It is notably common to find studies done on Muslim customers and their preference on Halal products, however, studies on Muslims preferences towards Halal transportation could still be considered as novel. By adopting the Theory of Planned Behavior and religiosity; and by taking into account the moderating effect of knowledge, this study aims to identify the factors that lead to the customers’ willingness to pay for the Halal transportation cost. Using a purposive sampling method, the data was collected among Muslim consumers in a prominent shopping complex in Malaysia and was analyzed using Smart Partial Least Squares (PLS). Based on the finding, it is shown that the attitude and perceived behavioral control gave a positive relationship with the willingness to pay for Halal transportation. Meanwhile, subjective norm and religiosity were on the opposite as there were both hold an insignificant effect towards the willingness to pay for the Halal transportation. Knowledge has moderated the relationship between attitude and willingness to pay for Halal transportation, but not for the relationship between subjective norm and perceived behavioral control. It is expected that this study could provide a better understanding of Muslim consumers’ behavior on purchasing for Halal transportation, as well as other Halal supply chain activities.


This study examined the relationship between attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control with the intention to provide halal maintenance to the family among Muslim fathers in Malaysia. The participants comprised of 353 Muslim fathers. The data were collected via a self-administered questionnaire. Findings from the study showed that there was a positive relationship between attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioral control with the father’s intention to provide halal maintenance for the family. In addition, the subjective norm is proven to be the most significant predictor of the intention to provide halal maintenance for the family.

Recently, biodiversity loss has become direr international. Human behavior is one of the causes that harm the biodiversity richness. Malaysia which is known as the megadiversity country also facing with the similar problem. Conservation of the biodiversity must be taken seriously and importantly by people to maintain the relationship between human and nature because we are affecting each other. Thus, this research was aiming to evaluate the relationship between human attitude, experience and knowledge toward the awareness of biodiversity conservation. The research was conducted using 4 variables from Ajzen’s Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) which are behavior, perceived behavioral control, subjective norms and attitude. This study was carried out in Malaysia by conducting a survey of 30 students from a private university. The findings of this study indicate that the mentioned have given the positive effect to the awareness of biological diversity conservation. In addition, the relation of knowledge and attitude also show the great correlation between themselves. Therefore, knowledge, experience and attitude are the factors that could increase peoples' awareness towards the biodiversity conservation and knowledge is the greatest influence in creating peoples' awareness.

This study aimed to determine the influence of variables in TPB (attitude toward behavior, perceived behavioral control, subjective norm), religiosity, knowledge, and risk perception to intention purchase of sharia mutual fund. The sample in this study was customer of Bank Sharia XYZ of 164 customers. The analysis applied in this study was Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square. The result of this research showed that the independent variable had positive and significant influence to dependent variables attitude toward behavior and subjective norm. Religiosity and knowledge have no significant influence toward intention to purchase, while perceived behavioral control and risk perception had no significant influence with intention to purchases. The other result showed that religiosity had a positive significant influence to attitude toward behavior. The conclusion of this research shown that religiosity is the factor which influence attitude toward behavior, attitude toward behavior and subjective norm are the factors which influence intention purchase of sharia mutual fund.

Crashes involving pedestrians account for a higher proportion of all road traffic crashes. So, in order to develop more effective safety measures, it is important to determine the causes of the crashes that involve pedestrians. This paper adopts an extended Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to predict and explain pedestrians’ intention to violate traffic rules when crossing the road. In addition to the three traditional determinants of intention (instrumental attitude, Subjective norm and perceived behavioral control), this paper analyzes the effects of sensation seeking and conformity tendency on the intention to violate traffic rules while crossing the road. In order to analyze the relationships among the aforementioned variables, a survey was conducted in Dalian City (China) and Djibouti City (Djibouti), 452 participants from Dalian City and 828 participants from Djibouti City were interviewed. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) was employed to analyze the collected data. The results indicated that the instrumental attitude, the subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control positively affected the behavioral intention to violate traffic rules when crossing the road for both cities except for perceived behavioral control which was not significant for Dalian City. Conformity tendency and sensation seeking had a significant and positive impact on behavioral intention for Djibouti City. However, for Dalian City, conformity tendency significantly and positively affected the behavioral intention, but sensation seeking did not. Several empirical and practical implications were also discussed.

The research is determining factors which affect to consumer choice motives for purchasing pure coffee in Dalat city. The dissertation is executed through two periods: qualitative research and quantitative research. The research results show that: "Choice Motive" positively impact the "Subjective Norm" of customers (β = 0.789), "Purchase Attitude" of customers (β = 0.7053), " Perceived behavioral control " of customers (β = 0.665). And the factors "Subjective Norm" of customers (β = 0.412), "Purchase Attitude" of customers (β = 0.291) and "Perception behavior control" of consumers (β = 0.274) have a positive impact on " Intention to purchase " pure coffee of customers. The result of this research can be a document which used to reference in theory and reality through the basic argument of behavior consumers. From that, the author gives management implications for managers as well as limitations and directions for further research of the topic.

This research aims at the relationships between the subjective norm, attitude, personal norm, perceived behavioral control, and behavioral intention. The interviewees consist of the body painting learners, who have undergone the survey of the print questionnaire. After deleting 20 ineffective questionnaires, the remaining 300 questionnaires yield the effective response rate of 93.7%. The conclusions based on this research are listed as follow: (1) The subjective norm places positive impact on the attitude. (2) The intention is positively influenced by the attitude. (3) The subjective norm positively impacts on the personal norm of the intention. (4) The intention is positively influenced by the personal norm. (5) The perceived behavioral control is positively influenced by the subjective norm. (6) The perceived control positively effects on the intention. (7) The subjective norm positively influences the intention. (8) The attitude fully places the mediation effects between the subjective norm and the behavioral intention. (9) The personal norms partially place the mediation effect between the subjective norm and the behavioral intention. (10) The perceived behavioral control partially places the mediation effect between the subjective norm and the behavioral intention.

We investigated the purchase intentions of consumers with respect to organic food and identified the determinants of the relationship between intended and realized purchase behavior. We conducted 2 surveys with South Korean consumers and developed a new organic food choice behavior model that reflects the relationship determinants. The factors affecting intention to purchase were evaluated using a survey based on the theory of planned behavior. Realized purchases were established through follow-up interviews with a subset (n = 20) of the participants who had completed the original survey. The key influences on intention to purchase were, in descending order, consumer past experience, attitude, the subjective norm, trust, and perceived behavioral control. The determinants of actual purchase behavior were unexpected circumstances, living circumstances, and price.

With the increases in residents’ household energy consumption and carbon emissions, to conserve regional energy and reduce emissions, studying the factors affecting residents’ willingness to purchase energy-efficient appliances and their mechanisms of action is necessary. In this research, based on the theory of extended planned behavior and combined with environmental concern variables and environmental knowledge variables, a model of the factors influencing residents’ willingness to purchase energy-efficient appliances was constructed and an empirical study of urban residents in Shanxi Province, China was conducted. The research indicates that environmental concern, environmental knowledge, attitude, and perceived behavioral control are significantly positively correlated with residents’ willingness to purchase energy-efficient appliances. The influence of subjective norms on the willingness of residents to purchase energy-efficient appliances is not significant; environmental concern and environmental knowledge have a positive impact on attitudes and indirectly affect residents’ willingness to purchase energy-efficient appliances. This study focuses on improvement and research from the perspectives of theoretical expansion, indirect impact test, and analysis of typical underdeveloped energy-rich regions. This study provides corresponding policy suggestions from the perspectives of education and guidance, sales and marketing, and independent improvement for the government, sellers, and residents, to improve the residents’ willingness to purchase energy-efficient appliances.
