The paper targets clarifying how essential young learners are shown vocabulary through Alphabet Cards. The subject of this homeroom activity research was 20 youthful students. The examination was a study hall activity research which was directed in two cycles where each cycle comprised of preparation, execution, perception and reflection. The information of this examination was acquired from the consequences of the test and perception sheet, survey, field notes, during the execution of the activity. The discoveries of the examination showed that Alphabet Cards was powerful in creating essential youthful students' vocabulary. The adequacy of Alphabet Cards was appeared by the improvement of youthful students' score. The discoveries uncovered that in cycle 1 there were 20 young learners who accomplished least standards of accomplishment. It implies that the traditional accomplishment was 40%. In cycle 2, it showed that there were 42 of 50 young learners who accomplished the base rules of accomplishment. It implies that the addition accomplishment was 84%. Gain accomplishment depends on the quantity of young learners who get the score in any event the standards of achievement (70). Both of the acquired and individual accomplishments have met the rules of achievement. It tends to be inferred that the Alphabet cards is compelling to build up the youthful students' vocabulary.

Most Indonesian students have difficulties in learning English pronunciation. Autonomous learning can be as an alternative strategy to help the students in learning pronunciation independently by utilizing Breakingnewsenglish.com. This study aimed to analyze the implementation of autonomous learning in learning pronunciation, the students’ response toward autonomous learning, and the impact of autonomous learning on the students’ pronunciation achievement. This study used descriptive qualitative method and the subject was Guidance and Counseling department students. The data was collected by observation, field notes, documentation, voice recording, and questionnaire. The result revealed that autonomous learning could be as an alternative strategy in learning pronunciation because the pronunciation performance of the students was significantly increased on the last meeting. They looked more enthusiastic in learning pronunciation autonomously.

This paper pointed toward examining the application of association technique in showing EFL vocabulary to the students. This exploration utilized a cooperative study hall activity research plan and it was carried out as cycles comprising of four significant advances: arranging, executing, noticing and reflecting. The subject of the exploration was 50 students in Indonesia. The instruments used to gather information were test, perception agendas, and field notes. This exploration was finished in two cycles in light of the fact that the aftereffects of the examination in the primary cycle didn't meet the rules of accomplishment. Every one of cycle involves four gatherings. The discoveries of the exploration showed that the applying of strategy in training English can build students' vocabulary dominance. This is appeared by the students' fruitful rate in cycle I was 22 (44%), in Cycle II and the quantity of the students who got scores at any rate 6.5 or more noteworthy was 41 (82%). Likewise, the students gave positive reaction toward the perception agenda result, in particular: eagerness, inspiration, interest, reaction, and progress. It very well may be reasoned that the association technique is successful and material in educating vocabulary.

There are so many words in English. Learning these words is a big problem for students of English. However, there are ways to solve this problem. One way is to become familiar with the process of word formation. This process enables students to understand how a word is formed. This analysisis in important and use ful to learn because they are very commonly used in English. Developing some skills in taking words apart will help students better understand what they read, what the meaning of a word, and finally increase students' interest. The purposes of this research are to find out wheter using matching card media can improve students interest in learning english and what the students responses. The subject of this research was class XI Slb ; which consisted of 8 students. This research was done in two cycles. The researcher used short answer tests, observation checklist tables, and field notes as the tools of collecting data. The research finding showed that the students interest to learning english language improved   the first cycle to the last cycle. The result of the students 70 %  improved their  interest , improved their in speaking  40%, improved student writing 70%,  recognize word formation and matching card process 70%,  participate in class discussion 25%, and get better class attendance. From the result above, the-writers believe that matcing card is very use ful to improve students' intererst and has positive impact towards the students learning process.

This study is aimed at improving the second grade of students’ speakingachievement by using Community Language Learning (CLL) Method. Theresearch was conducted by applying classroom action research. The subject of this study was second grade of Private Senior High School (Sekolah Menengah Atas Swasta) of Dwi Tunggal Tanjung Morawa which consisted of 31 students. To collect the data, the instruments used were primary data (SpeakingTest) and secondary data (interview sheet, observation sheet, field notes). It can be seen from the score in test I, test II and test III. In the Test I, the mean of the students’score was (64.77), in the Test II was (71.35), and the mean of the students’ score of the Test III was (80.90). Based on the interview, and observation sheet, it shows that the expression and excitement of the students got improved as well. It was found that teaching of speaking by using Community Language Learningcould significantly improve students’ speaking achievement.Key Words: Community Language Learning, Method, Improvement, Speaking Achievement

This study concerns on how reading text materials are developed for vocational school. This study was conducted by using developmental research. The subject of this research was class XII SMK Sandhy Putra 2 Medan consisting of 36 students. Instrumentations for collecting data were questionnaire and interview. After analyzing the data, the writer got the students’ need in learning English in term of vocation that they have. Based on the students’ need analysis, then it was got some basic competences which need to be reached by the students, and based on the basic competences, syllabus can be designed. After syllabus had been designed, developing teaching materials was done. The developed teaching materials were related to the vocation that the students had; it was culinary art. The development of materials followed four stages; those were pre-development/ planning, development, evaluation, and revision.

The students' reading comprehension is very lowat the pandemic era, Theyare difficult to understand  the text, they don’t haveEnough English vocabulary, Many teachers/lecturer used  techniques that wereless precise in teaching reading, and the students got reading comprehension scores below the minimum completion criteria (KKM). This research aims to determine whether using Reading, Encoding, Annotating, and Pondering techhnique as Learning process in pandemic era to improve reading comprehension stability for students.This research is conducted by using descriptive qualitative method, which describe of students’s problem at pandemic era by zoom in the Internet after that, analyze the data which used percentage.The researcher also has done pre-assesment for supporting accurate data.The subjects of this research were 20 students, consisted 11 females and 9 males. The subject Instrument used in this research is reading comprehension test, researcher observation cheklits and field notes, student observation Cheklist and field notes, interview and documentation by zoom at the Internet. According to avarage results, the increasing for  students' reading comprehension ability on the pre-assessment  is the average student reaches, (55.14%), learning 1  (62.15%), learning 2  (70.14%), and learning 3 (75.65%)  avarage students’ score increase and got standardization of school. Based on the result in each levels which  there is  indeed REAP technique could increasing students’ reading comprehension text.

This study intends to find out the effectiveness of using picture as teaching media in teaching WH-Question. The Subject consisted of 10 young aged students attending SEKAMI during the period November 2018 – February 2019. The data were collected through objective test pre-experimental design of one group pre-test post-test. The data were analyzed based on descriptive statistics, in which the mean of pre-test was compared to the mean of post-test. The finding shows that students improved their achievement after being treated with picture. The mean of post-test is higher than the mean of pre-test (X2 is higher than that of X1 = 82.5 > 61.5). This indicates that the use of picture as a teaching media was interesting and made the students easy to understand the situation that had been explained to them. Keywords: WH-Question, Young learners, teaching through picture.

Abstrak:Tujuan penelitan ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Pembelajaran Van Hiele untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi Luas Permukaan serta Volume Balok dan Kubus di kelas VIII  SMP N 18 Palu. Rancangan penelitian mengacu pada model Kemmis dan Mc.Taggart, yang terdiri dari 4 komponen yaitu: 1) perencanaan, 2) tindakan, 3) pengamatan, dan 4) refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII  SMP N 18  Palu yang berjumlah 20 siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini yaitu observasi, tes, wawancara, dan catatan lapangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran Van Hiele dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa dengan mengikuti fase-fase: 1) informasi, 2) orientasi terarah, 3) uraian, 4) orientasi bebas, dan 5) integrasi. Kata Kunci: model Pembelajaran Van Hiele, Hasil Belajar, Luas Permukaan serta Volume Balok dan Kubus. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII SMP N 18 Palu, amounting to 20 students. Data collection techniques in this study are observation, tests, interviews, and field notes. The results showed that the application of Van Hiele learning model can improve student learning outcomes by following the phases: 1) information, 2) orientation directed, 3) description, 4) free orientation, and 5) integration. <p>The purpose of this study was to describe the use of Total Physical Response (TPR) method on young learners English Language Teaching (ELT) at Panti Asuhan Yauma. The method of the research is descriptive qualitative. In this research the researcher describes the activities carried out by teachers and students by using TPR method. The data resources are from teacher and students in Panti Asuhan Yauma Jakarta. The class consists of 30 students which their ages were around 5 to 11 years old. The data collected through observation in learning activities. The instruments were pre-test and post-test with 2 (two) criterion being assessed, namely vocabulary and comprehension. They were divided into 5 (five) elements such as accuracy of word, understanding each word, word choice, understanding the meaning, and speaking easily. The results showed that there was an improvement in vocabulary score about 27.40 and comprehension score about 28.77. The research finding first showed that when using the TPR method children enjoyed and were also very active in learning English. The researcher hopes that the study contributes to the activities of teaching and learning English, especially teaching English for young learners. It was proved by the score from pre-test and post-test.</p>

The entry of youth into the prisons would lead them to the loss of independence, difficulties in adapting, and lonely feeling, which ultimately affects the condition of psychological well-being. Here, psychological well-being is an essential condition to make teenagers, i.e., convicts, be able to defend their lives for serving a sentence. The study aims to provide an overview of the psychological well-being of juvenile prisoners and to investigate the factors that influence the formation of psychological well-being. In this case, the study employs an exploratory qualitative approach to the subject of two teenage inmates. The prison chosen is located in Class II A Sidoarjo. The data are obtained from interviewing technique and field notes. The results show that inmates have better psychological well-being than when they entered the prison early. The condition is proved at the subjects’ ability to adjust themselves to the environment, develop self-potential, accept themselves in a positive attitude, self-control and self-reliant, have a purpose to live and be able to establish positive relationships with others. Meanwhile, the factors that influence the formation of psychological well-being in inmates are social support, social interaction, and social skills while they are in a prison.
