Attar believes that some health standards and different hygienic methods should be taught to children. Although teaching the methods of healthcare and well-being is among the necessities of life, child’s understanding and intelligence should not be ignored. There is no doubt that religious give great importance to health issues and even emphasize that they should be taught to children. Dealing with appearance causes that their truth-seeking spirit is misled. Accordingly, Sufism recommends people to abandon appearance and deal with the interior. In the stages of growth, child’s mental images are related to sensory issues. He gradually understands lighting, heating and other things that are exposed to his senses and realizes their differences. Formation of mental images and attention to their differences are related to the growth and complexity of the child’s nerves and experience. Affection and kindness to children is desirable. But parents and educators should know that going to extremes in this case is harmful. Attar believes that loving the children excessively causes that he is brought up as a weak and powerless person and loses his self-confidence. So, he shows weakness in the face of problems. But if he is educated with moderation, he will act accordingly. Too much attention to children makes them timid. Treating the children with justice and fairness is one of the Divine attributes. According to Attar, parents should not discriminate between their children and should deal with them justly in all aspects just as you like to be treated with justice in all situations. In many educational books, it is said that the apparent treatment of parents with children may vary according to their age and gender and this is difference rather than discrimination. Attar states that we should act carefully and accurately. These differences should not make parents not act fairly in loving children, but they should justify the children that if they were in such a situation, they would receive the same treatment. Discrimination and injustice in the family, whether tangible or intangible, cause that children feel contempt and become alienated from their family and education.

AbstractSoutheast Asian sources that report regional connection with the Majapahit and Angkor polities reflect upon a rapidly changing fourteenth and fifteenth century world order, the result of new trading opportunities as Europeans were becoming more direct participants in affairs beyond their Western home-lands. In the face of the individualistic and destructive tendencies of the wider global community circa 1500, in the Strait of Melaka region there was less dislocation and isolation than is supposed by many twentieth century scholars. Despite the number of political and religious transitions underway, in the Southeast Asian archipelago and mainland there was a sense of regional self-confidence and progress among societies who had enjoyed over two hundred years of widespread socio-economic success. These successes were the product of the functional international, regional, and local networks of communication, as well as a common heritage that had developed in the Strait of Melaka region during the pre-1500 era. This study not only addresses the role of Majapahit and Angkor in the shaping of regional inclusiveness circa 1500, but also explores the enduring (and often exclusive) legacy of these two early cultural centers among Southeast Asia's twentieth century polities.

Abstract. Adolescents with acne in physical appearance that doesn’t like the ideal appearance, is said that have confidence when he can accept realistically, still feel grateful and act positively while low confidence if these adolescents are not satisfied, embarrassed, disappointed, and rejected themselves. Acne vulgaris is the inflammation of the sebaceous follicles characterized by comedones, papules, pustules, cysts and nodules on the face, neck, upper trunk and upper arms. Acne is troubling because it is related to the degradation of self confidence due to the beauty of the face. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between the level of confidence with acne. This type of study is correlational with cross sectional approach. The subjects are SMAN 7 Manado students who have acnes with 90 respondents chosen by purposive sampling. Spearman Rank analysis techniques is used to.The results showed that the correlation coefficient between acne with confidence at -0.068, meaning the relationship between acne and confidence is negative which the closeness of the correlation is very weak (<0.20) so that it canbe said there is no significant relationship between confidence with acne (Sig = 0.523). It means, the physical appearance in this case the acne is not the only factor affecting confidence. Self-concept, experience, education is the internal factors and their parents, peers and the community are the external factors that can affect confidence. Respondents with high self confidence eventhough have acnes are not oriented on their physical appearance alone, , because they feel confident in the ability and potential for him in other things. Keywords: Adolescents, Confidence, Acne.

IntroductionAccording to Angle's classification, a correct bite should have, inter alia, the following regularities: the median line of the face should coincide with the line between the central incisors of the upper and lower arches, the lower incisors should be overlapped by the incisal edges of the upper incisors, the top of the canine in the upper arch is inserted between the lower canine and the tangent premolar, each tooth is in contact with two opposing teeth, adjacent teeth both in the upper and lower arch are in contact with each other. Any deviation from these rules may indicate the presence of a malocclusion. We can distinguish here, for example: posteroclusion, open bite, retrusive occlusion, protrusive occlusion, supraclusion bite. They seem to be important not only in terms of functionality, but also psychology. Research shows that the correction of mandibular prognathism increases the level of self-confidence and self-acceptance, which may improve the quality of life of patients.Purpose of researchThe aim of the study was to check the quality of life of orthodontic and surgical patients as well as what factors motivate these people to start treatment in the area of the masticatory system.Material and methods208 people aged 18 to 55 participated in the survey. They were both people with malocclusion and no malocclusion, who constituted the control group. The questionnaire was created on the basis of standardized OQLQ and OHIP-14 questionnaires. It also included questions about the factors that motivate to start treatment in the masticatory system.ResultsThe most common malocclusion among the respondents was progenia (58.8%), followed by retrogenia (34.3%), then open bite (4%) and posteroclusion (2.9%). According to the OHIP-14 form, statistically significant (p <.0001) higher quality of life was seen in people without a masticatory organ defect, compared to people with the malocclusion. A statistically significant difference (p <.0001) between people with present or recent malocclusion (M = 54.29, SD = 16.71) and people without malocclusion (M = 31.93, SD = 18.31) was also visible in the study with using the OQLQ questionnaire.ConclusionsA malocclusion worsens the comfort and quality of life.Incorrect bite, face and smile aesthetics as well as psychological aspects are the most important factors motivating to undertake surgical and orthodontic treatment.Bruxism and facial pain are not factors prompting the initiation of treatment of malocclusion.

Purpose: Limited radiology curriculum during postgraduate year 1 of radiology residency combined with increasing workloads during emergency radiology call have contributed to heightened anxiety and responsibilities for junior residents. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a 12-month emergency radiology curriculum on self-rated confidence and general competence of Canadian postgraduate year 1 radiology residents. Methods: A cohort of Canadian postgraduate year 1 Diagnostic Radiology residents voluntarily enrolled in a 12-month self-directed online emergency radiology curriculum (9 modules). Participants completed pretest and posttest surveys and examinations to gauge their self-rated competence on module material and knowledge acquisition, respectively. Average pretest and posttest scores were compared using Student 2-tailed unpaired t test, and Likert data from self-reported confidence were compared using a Mann Whitney U test. Statistical significance was defined as P < .05. Results: Sixty-six trainees completed at least 1 module, and 15 trainees completed all 9 modules. Both self-rated confidence and posttest scores were statistically higher after module completion ( P < .001) for all 9 learning modules. The greatest improvement in test scores was seen in the female genitourinary module (28.12 ± 3.018; difference between pretest and posttest means ± SEM). Conclusions: Our study demonstrates learning benefits for junior radiology trainees who participated in a self-directed online emergency radiology curriculum during postgraduate year 1. In the face of ever-increasing demands for imaging in on-call settings across Canada, inclusion of a self-directed online curriculum may become more important for upcoming competency-based medical education as it encourages a learner-driven and non-time-based method of education.

The primary aim of this study is to test a process model of cultural conflict styles. Specifically, we propose a theoretical framework for illuminating the relationship between individual-level equivalents of cultural variability dimensions and the face-maintenance dimensions, which, in turn, serve as guiding motives or criteria for selecting conflict strategies. In the model, it was predicted that the greater the individual’s construal of self as independent, the higher the concern for self-face maintenance, which, in turn, leads to the higher preference for forcing (dominating) conflict styles. In a separate path, it was also predicted that the greater the individual’s construal of self as interdependent, the higher the concern for other-face maintenance, which, in turn, leads to the higher preference for nonforcing (obliging, avoiding, integrating, and compromising) conflict styles. Data to test the proposed model were drawn from undergraduates of diverse cultural backgrounds, studying in Hawai‘i. After being presented at random with one of the three conflict situations, participants rated the scales measuring conflict styles, face maintenance dimensions, as well as scales to measure the independent and interdependent dimensions of their self-construals. The theoretical path model was supported by the data except for one path. The implications of the model for theory and practice are discussed.

This paper analyses a corpus of compliment responses in Turkish according to the conversational maxim approach (Leech 1983, 2003) and the face-management approach (Brown and Levinson 1987) with a view to extending the conceptualisation of self-presentation in theorising on politeness. It observes that the two theories ground politeness on consideration for alter and give precedence to politeness in the sense of displaying deference and solidarity at the expense of self-politeness, described in the present study as speaker need for display of competence, self-confidence, and individuality in interaction, besides the need for non-imposition. Regarding the maxim approach, the paper argues that conversational implicatures triggered by a variety of responses ultimately tie to the Tact Maxim and more specifically to the Sympathy Maxim in the Turkish context. The analysis reveals that compliment responses may override the Politeness Principle, that self-presentational concerns are crucial motivating factors, and that face concerns need to be incorporated into the model. From the perspective of the face-management approach, the study supports the claim in O’Driscoll (1996) and Spencer-Oatey (2000) that the notions of positive and negative face as need for community and autonomy need to be disentangled from the theory’s conceptualisation of face as public self-image. With the incorporation of a number of self-politeness strategies, the face-theoretic analysis builds on this distinction and integrates it with the concept of interactional imbalance by extending an analytic framework adapted from Bayraktaroğlu (1991). The paper concludes with suggestions on how the two theories may complement each other.

This paper introduces professor Pei Ruixia’s experience in the treatment of diabetes with the “harmony method.” Professor Pei believes that the pathogenic factors of diabetes are mainly divided into emotional and dietary factors, and the essence of diabetes are not in harmony of the human body. Thus, its treatment is to “make it harmonious.” It is good to use the method of “clearing and harmonizing,” appropriately using Xiaochaihu decoction, paying attention to the compatibility of drugs, and taking care of spleen and stomach, as well as Qi.
