In this study, several batches of natural rubber (SMR L) were compounded with three different types of accelerators, which were N-cyclohexylbenzothiazole-2-sulphenamide (CBS), diphenylguanidine (DPG) and zinc diethyldithiocarbamate (ZDEC). ZDEC is known as an ultrafast accelerator. The rubber compounds were cured at 140°C, 130°C, 120°C, 110°C and 100°C in accordance with the temperature gradients observed within the thick rubber block. The main aim of this study is to cure the rubber at each temperature region to the same cure time as that of the outermost region (20 minutes at 140°C). The amount of sulfur and accelerator were adjusted accordingly at each curing temperature to match the state of cure at 140°C. The state of cure of of the vulcanized rubbers were measured using hardness and tensile strength. The same state of cure is achieved if the hardness and tensile strength value are within ±2 IRHD and ±3 MPa, respectively with that of the control vulcanized rubber (hardness and tensile strength cured at 140°C). The results shows that the hardness and tensile strength of the vulcanized rubber at each temperature region are within the expected margins. The results clearly indicated that the type and amount of accelerators, and the amount of sulfur were correctly chosen at each temperature.

As a basic necessity, the availability of foodstuffs requires the state to be involved in its fulfillment through regulation. In carrying out of the functions, the state also makes regulations on other aspects. That condition, sometimes, raises contradictory things at the stage of implementation, especially at the local level. Culturally, the system of the food supply of proteins sourced from buffalo practiced by many tribes in Indonesia including by the Gayo community in Gayo Lues District. In Gayo, the system of traditional buffalo farms is called Uwer. It is interesting to see how the food policy has contributed to the local cattle tradition. This is the problem in this study. As a preliminary study result, data on research gathered through work fields and literature studies. Results of the study showed that there are many food policies at the national level that directly or indirectly contribute to the existence of traditional livestock patterns including farms that are practiced by the Gayo community. On its development, the Gayo community has also made modifications to the Uwer system to response the social and cultural changes. If not accompanied by protection and conservation efforts, local buffalo livestock systems that reloaded with local wisdom values will potentially lose or abandoned by the public.

Within the framework of studies using the ladl system of electronic dictionaries, the group Applied Linguistics in Romance Languages of the uab has undertaken the construction of an electronic dictionary for frozen compound adverbs. This dictionary completes the delacs (Dictionary for Compound Words of Spanish). This paper briefly presents the characteristics of each type of frozen compound adverb and also the choices that underlie the development of the tables in which they are recorded. Details are also given about the state of electronic dictionary of frozen compound adverbs currently available on intex. Since this is a preliminary study, the final section is devoted to identifying possible future developments, rather than drawing conclusions.

Abstract From the mechanical engineer's point of view, rubber has one serious drawback, and that is the behavior toward lubricating oil. By proper compounding and curing, rubber is being used under circumstances which involve contact with oils, but there is still room for improvement. When one considers that oil-resisting rubber is finding and could find still greater application in the engineering, especially the automobile, electrical, petroleum, gas, paint, printing, agricultural, and other industries, it is not astonishing that this problem is one of the most important of the rubber industry. Little work, however, has been published on this subject prior to the present year. The popular belief that glue protects rubber against oil has been shown to be incorrect, and will be dealt with later in the paper. Ishiguro (Rubber Chem. & Tech., 6, 278 (1933)) studied a large number of fillers, soaps, glue, starch, and accelerators, but in view of the fact that the author did not make a preliminary study of the effect of these substances upon cure, the reader of the paper is left with the impression that the results are due as much to the effect of the various substances upon the state of cure as to their intrinsic oil-resisting properties. It is true that a certain amount of correction was made in the case of accelerators. The paper must, however, be welcomed as the first systematic publication based on experimental work on this subject. Karsten (Kautschuk, 9, 73 (1933)) brings out a very important point in his paper to the effect that the best method of obtaining oil-resistance in rubber must depend upon the use to which the finished article will be put: for example, large proportions of reinforcing fillers and glue cannot be used when a flexible rubber is required, and so on.

The general purpose of this research was to study the nutritional value and acceptability of biscuits with the addition of Indian Scad (Decapterus russelli) and Trevally (Caranx sp) fishmeal. This study was divided into two stages: a preliminary study and further research. Generally, Indian Scad fishmeal has 11.65% moisture content, 7.94% ash, 89.26% protein, 0.34% fat and 36.66 ppm iron, and the yield is 15.96%. However, the Trevally has 7.34% moisture content, 0.53% fat, 89.86% protein, 10.92% ash, 18.05% iron, and the yield is 12.65%. Based on the state of fat, ash, iron and yield, the chosen fish to be further tested was the Indian Scad. Nutrient content of controlled and selected biscuits ranged from 2.33%-3.93% water content, 1.61%-2.82% ash, 6.60%-20.01% protein, 18.61%-21.90% fat, 58.51%-70.01% carbohydrates, 928.28-933.92 ppm iron, and 0.00-3.14 mg O2/100 g peroxide. The content of the biscuit met the ISO standard No. 01-2973-92 except for the levels of fat and carbohydrates which were less than the standard. Nutrient loss of controlled and selected biscuits during the processing were of 72.3% and 83.45% water content, 0.61% and 0.36% ash, 4.65% and 1.33% protein, 0.09% and 0.59% fat, 0.46% and 0.47% iron. The results showed that the addition of Indian Scad fishmeal was significantly affected on the moisture, ash, protein, fat, carbohydrates and peroxide, but had no effect on iron levels.     Keyword : fishmeal, nutritional value, indianscad, trevally
