In the paper, we investigate the impact of global trends Industry 4.0 on the structural transformations of Ukrainian industrial sector through the prism of global technological challenges. The current structural imbalances of Ukrainian industrial development and highlights the opportunities that 4.0 technologies provide for innovative industrial renewal are considered; and the readiness for adoption of innovative technologies of Industry 4.0 in the industrial enterprises is assessed. The key conclusion of the study is that further innovative transformation of global production will lead to inevitable changes in the organization and management of production processes. Based on the research results, an effective solution to certain problems has been proposed. The key finding of the research is that representatives of Ukrainian industry though perceive the importance of this tool face many obstacles in its implementation. Considering research results the efficient solutions of identified problems were proposed. They include the establishing strengthening the strategic partnership between the state science and business institutions in the process of stimulating cluster development; improvement of innovation infrastructure, creating the innovation ecosystems for the capitalization of scientific developments and the commercialization of innovations; creation of competitive conditions for all market participants, including equal conditions for access to the raw materials market, technology transfer, protection of property rights; reforming educational infrastructure; creation of a favorable investment environment with the help of mechanisms of state guarantees for foreign investments.

In order to succeed in a competitive environment, enterprises and organizations must quickly respond to external influences, such as digitalization, expansion of information exchange, and challenges caused by Industry 4.0. High-tech knowledge-intensive enterprises that develop and commercialize their original innovative products and technologies as well as provide intellectual services in the field of high technologies are the first to respond to such challenges. A number of works on how the digitalization in economy impacts organizational and managerial activities of enterprises, their R&D, and creation, production and commercialization of innovative products are analyzed. As the results of the study, a number of properties and patterns that determine the successful adaptation of innovative enterprises to the challenges of Industry 4.0 wereidentified. Among them there are material resources, including technology and equipment, scientific and technological achievements, financial, personnel and information support and adaptive organizational and economic capabilities. It is shown that in order to adapt to the challenges of Industry 4.0, enterprises must match capabilities of the digital economy with their material, intellectual and production resources using innovative potential as a measurement tool. It is determined that the procedures for assessing the innovative potential of enterprises can become an effective tool for assessing both quantitative/qualitative indicators of enterprises and degree of their adaptation to the challenges of Industry 4.0. The proposed methodology for a comprehensive assessment of industrial enterprises’ innovative potential as the degree of their adaptation to the challenges of Industry 4.0 was implemented at the high-tech knowledge-intensive enterprises “Shtorm” and “Tekhnotron”. Both of them are well known for their innovative developments in the field of welding production. It was demonstrated that the proposed methodology allows not just assessing the degree of adaptation to the digital economy and the challenges of Industry 4.0, but also assessing the impact of planned activities on innovations and determine methods and means of responding to the changes in external and internal environment of enterprises.

Currently, Industry 4.0 (I4.0) is the most popular concept relating to changes in the functioning of industrial enterprises. Industry 4.0 has been discussed in the actual literature mainly from a technological perspective, overlooking social challenges regarding this fourth industrial revolution. The objective of this article is to diagnose the impact of I4.0 on employees. This aim will be achieved by (1) a literature review of existing research efforts, (2) conducting structured interviews, and (3) summarizing the current state of knowledge and providing a definition of further work. Scopus, Web of Science, and a set of specific keywords were used to select peer-reviewed articles showing evidence of the impact of I4.0 on employees/jobs in given countries or industries. After determining the current state of research in this area, it was decided to conduct structured interviews questionnaire in the country (Australia) and industry (horticulture), which had not been covered by the research in this topic so far. The main contribution of the article was the development and validation of a comprehensive research agenda on the impact of I4.0 on employees. The obtained results suggest that the impact of I4.0 on employees is significant, and the changes occur in many different categories related to human work. The impact of I4.0 was identified both at the macro (labor market) and micro (jobs) level.

Industry 4.0 has been creating new jobs for several years, and people are already being employed in work positions that did not exist ten years ago. Due to the speed and complexity of the changes brought about by the Fourth Industrial Revolution, it will be necessary to respond adequately and flexibly to this challenge. This research paper is devoted to the issue of Industry 4.0 outbreak into industrial enterprises, while the issue of job structure will become an increasingly urgent one. The main objective of this problem-oriented quantitative type of research is based on the analysis of the state and course of Industry 4.0 implementation process to estimate the impact of Industry 4.0 concept implementation on job creation in small and medium-sized enterprises and family businesses in Slovak Republic. A questionnaire survey in small and medium-sized enterprises in Slovak Republic was chosen as the fundamental research method. The results have shown that new technologies will increasingly displace physical labor in particular, and emerging jobs will put ever-increasing demands on human intellect. The conclusions from our findings can be the basis for the creation of educational programs not only within the workplace but also in the educational system in Slovak Republic.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic may further promote the development of Industry 4.0 leading to the fifth industrial revolution (Society 5.0). Industry 4.0 technology such as Big Data (BD) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) may lead to a personalized system of healthcare in Pakistan. The final bridge between humans and machines is Society 5.0, also known as the super-smart society that employs AI in healthcare manufacturing and logistics. In this communication, we review various Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 technologies including robotics and AI being inspected to control the rate of transmission of COVID-19 globally. We demonstrate the applicability of advanced information technologies including AI, BD, and Information of Technology (IoT) to healthcare. The emergence of innovative technologies in industry has made a revolution that has contributed to a change in the production and logistics infrastructure, the structure of auxiliary and service subsystems. At the same time, innovative and technological development takes place within the framework of modern trends and concepts, such as Industry 4.0 and digitalization. The important thing here is the creation of smart industries that form their own innovation infrastructure, research program and technology development. Smart factories will integrate the entire supply chain into a single information system, which will be managed using intelligent information technologies. In this connection, it is necessary to assess the level of innovative development of industries within the framework of the Industry 4.0 concept, which includes indicators of innovative activity of enterprises, development and implementation of production technologies, investments in modernization and the purchase of new equipment. The purpose of the article is to identify trends and predict the innovative and technological development of manufacturing enterprises. Achievement of this goal presupposes the solution of the following tasks: study of modern domestic and foreign experience in the innovative development of industrial enterprises; diagnostics of indicators of innovative and technological development by industry; grouping industries by level of development using cluster analysis methods; forecasting trends in the development of manufacturing industries for the future. The article uses methods of descriptive statistics, applied methods of cluster analysis and forecasting methods. The infrastructure for innovative, smart factories and industries is yet to be created. The potential and opportunities for their creation are currently different for each type of production activity. Assessment of the level of innovative development for various types of manufacturing industry can become an effective tool for making management decisions at the state level.

The Fourth Industrial Revolution bears major technological, demographic, and socio-economic changes affecting nearly every area in business. Within the human resources area, both a surplus of labor and the creation of brand new professions are to be expected. Industry 4.0 concept significantly affects labor productivity in individual countries and does not miss the Slovak Republic either. All segments of the labor market, not just industrial enterprises, will be affected. The present study aims to analyze the possible development of labor productivity in Slovak companies and determine its development in the next period, considering the decreasing number of working-age populations in terms of the fallouts on creation and termination of jobs and occupations. The questionnaire carried out in 319 enterprises in the Slovak Republic with a received response of 228 was a key research tool used to analyze the results of the survey. The findings show that although the labor force within the Slovak labor market will not increase, the labor force will decrease due to unfavorable demographic development. The overall productivity in Slovak companies will increase due to the new technologies implementation. The results have proved that the Industry 4.0 concept will significantly affect labor productivity in the world economy and the Slovak Republic. In particular, the recommendations aim to draw attention to changes in job structure and the need to reform the education system because of Industry 4.0 requirements. Embedded systems used in critical systems, such as aeronautics, have undergone continuous evolution in recent years. In this evolution, many of the functionalities offered by these systems have been adapted through the introduction of network services that achieve high levels of interconnectivity. The high availability of access to communications networks has enabled the development of new applications that introduce control functions with higher levels of intelligence and adaptation. In these applications, it is necessary to manage different components of an application according to their levels of criticality. The concept of “Industry 4.0” has recently emerged to describe high levels of automation and flexibility in production. The digitization and extensive use of information technologies has become the key to industrial systems. Due to their growing importance and social impact, industrial systems have become part of the systems that are considered critical. This evolution of industrial systems forces the appearance of new technical requirements for software architectures that enable the consolidation of multiple applications in common hardware platforms—including those of different criticality levels. These enabling technologies, together with use of reference models and standardization facilitate the effective transition to this approach. This article analyses the structure of Industry 4.0 systems providing a comprehensive review of existing techniques. The levels and mechanisms of interaction between components are analyzed while considering the impact that the handling of multiple levels of criticality has on the architecture itself—and on the functionalities of the support middleware. Finally, this paper outcomes some of the challenges from a technological and research point of view that the authors identify as crucial for the successful development of these technologies.

The paper provides new survey evidence on effects of concentrated ownership upon investment and performance in Russian industrial enterprises. Authors trace major changes in their ownership profile, assess pace of post-privatization redistribution of shareholdings and provide evidence on ownership concentration in the Russian industry. The major econometric findings are that the first largest shareholding is negatively associated with the firm’s investment and performance but surprisingly the second largest shareholding is positively associated with them. Moreover, these relationships do not depend on identity of majority shareholders. These results are consistent with the assumption that the entrenched controlling owners are engaged in extracting "control premium" but sizable shareholdings accumulated by other blockholders may put brakes on their expropriating behavior and thus be conductive for efficiency enhancing. The most interesting topic for further more detailed analysis is formation, stability and roles of coalitions of large blockholders in the corporate sector of post-socialist countries.

Gelendzhik is the resort town, there aren't a lot of industrial enterprises here. The main pollutant is transport. The work purpose is the assessment of a condition of the artificial landings of a pine located along the Federal highway "Don" and landings, which is nearly the sea coast. Researches were conducted to a standard technique of the General vital state (A. S. Bogolyubov). The assessment of a condition of pines was carried out during 6 years: from 2010 to 2015. For carrying out research we used 6 experimental grounds on the Markotkhsky spine and 2 control grounds within the town. We investigated 24 trees on each platform, middle age of the trees were 30 - 40 years. Results. 1. The condition of trees in the pine forests located in immediate proximity with the Federal highway "Don" (No. 1, 2, 3) is unsatisfactory. As even weak influences of the majority of atmospheric gaseous pollutants (sulphurous gas, nitrogen oxides, etc.) give effect of a necrosis and hloroz of pine needles, the condition of pines is connected with technogenic pollution. So near the Federal highway "Don" the air environment is strongly polluted by exhaust gases. Information of 2012 confirm that negative influence of the route on Markotkh's vegetation decreases at reduction of load of the route. 2. On the sites located above on a slope (No. 4,5,6) thanks to remoteness and the wind mode intensity of influence of pollutants is lower and a condition of pines the quite satisfactory. 3. Trees on the sites located near the sea (No. 7,8) are in a good shape. Small deterioration of a state is noted in very droughty years. Conclusion. Results of six years' research show that the condition of the plantings which are in close proximity with the road worsens. It is explained by increase in intensity of the movement on the road, especially during a resort season. Gelendzhik is the city with a good ecological shape, but the damage to environment is already caused. If not to take measures, we can lose a unique part of the nature in the future, recreate it will be impossible. Measures of reduction of negative impact of exhaust gases were offered. Results of researches are transferred to ecological department of the City administration of Gelendzhik.
