Pola Komunikasi “Shihab & Shihab” pada Narasi TV dalam Perspektif Etnografi Komunikasi

This study aims to examine the communication patterns of “Shihab & Shihab” on Narasi TV with the episode of "Muslim and Christian Brothers". This study uses a type of qualitative research with ethnographic of communication method. To collect data, observation and documentation were conducted.  Data analysis was performed using content analysis from Spradley. The results of the study indicate that tiered clarification system or tabayyun is very important to do in our life, particularly in the revolutional industry 4.0. This phenomenon is reflected in the communication patterns carried out by Najwa Shihab, Quraish Shihab, and Priest Budi in Narasi TV. Ethnography of communication well-known as SPEAKING by Hymes in the form of settings, participants, ends, acts, keys, instruments, norms, and genres are the reasons why the communication pattern uses a tiered clarification system.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pola komunikasi “Shihab & Shihab” pada Narasi TV episode “Muslim dan Nasrani Bersaudara”. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi komunikasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan observasi dan dokumentasi. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis isi model Spradley. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa  sistem klarifikasi berjenjang terhadap sesuatu sangat penting di dalam kehidupan, terutama di zaman revolusi industri 4.0. Fenomena itu terefleksikan dari pola komunikasi yang dilakukan Najwa Shihab, Quraish Shihab, dan Romo Budi. Etnografi komunikasi SPEAKING Hymes yang berupa setting, partisipant, ends, acts, key, instruments, norm, dan genre menjadi alasan pola komunikasi itu menggunakan sistem klarifikasi berjenjang.

This study is focused on analysis of the politeness expressed by the main characters and supporting characters in “Beauty and the Beast” Movie. The objective of this study are to know the politeness expressed by the main characters; Beauty (Belle) and the Beast (Prince) and to know the politeness expressed by the supporting characters in “Beauty and the Beast” movie. This Study is qualitative research that used content analysis method. Technique of data analysis in this study is using descriptive qualitative. The result of analysis are the sum of expression of politeness in saying thank you are 8 expressions, in saying hello are 7 expression, in answer the saying hello are 2 expressions, in use ‘I’m sorry’ are 5 expression and of how to sound more polite are 5 expressions. The sum of all expression of politeness that expressed by the characters in “Beauty  and the Beast” movie are 27 expressions. Based on the discussion of the result of analysis, It can be concluded that expression of politeness is important in communication and it usually use in conversation when people in saying hello or greeting, when people answer the saying hello or greeting from others, when people ask with the sound more polite, and the last when people saying use ‘I’m sorry’ to refused and ignore something and ask to forgiven by other people. This study can be applied to conduct the learning material in teaching about the  English expression in conversation, especially expression of politeness.

Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif yang berlandaskan pada filsafat postpositivisme, Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara. Teknik keabsahan data menggunakan trianggulasi. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model Spradley (analisis domain, taksonomi, komponensial, dan analisis tema kultural). Fokus penelitian ini adalah analisis pola komunikasi orangtua dalam membangun sikap percaya diri anak. Kebutuhan komunikasi merupakan kebutuhan yang sangat penting bagi kehidupan anak. Komunikasi pertama anak adalah dengan orangtua. Pentingnya komunikasi sama pentingnya dengan percaya diri anak. percaya diri ibarat tumbuhan, jika tunas-tunas percaya diri anak dirawat, diasuh dengan kasih sayang dan cinta, maka tunas-tunas tersebut akan tumbuh dan berkembang. Berdasarkan penelitian di POS PAUD Kartini dari 25 sampel diperoleh perbandingan 72% orangtua menerapkan pola komunikasi demokratis, 24% orangtua menerapkan pola komunikasi permisif dan 28% orangtua menerapkan pola komunikasi otoriter. Anak yang memiliki percaya diri sesuai dengan tahap perkembangan usia adalah orangtua yang menerapkan pola komunikasi demokratis. orangtua yang menerapkan pola komunikasi permisisf dan otoriter percaya diri anak masih perlu bimbingan.  Kata Kunci: Percaya diri, Komunikasi orangtuaABSTRACTThis research uses qualitative research based on postpositivism philosophy, data collection method using observation, documentation and interview. The technique of data validity uses triangulation. Data analysis techniques use the Spradley model (domain analysis, taxonomy, component, and cultural theme analysis). The focus of this study is the analysis of parenting communication patterns in building children's confidence. Communication needs is a very important need for the child's life. The child's first communication is with parents. The importance of communication is as important as the child's confidence. confident as a plant, if the confident child buds are treated, raised with love and love, then the buds will grow and develop. Based on research in POS PAUD Kartini from 25 samples obtained comparison of 72% of parents apply democratic communication pattern, 24% of parents apply permissive communication pattern and 28% of parents apply authoritarian communication pattern. Children who have confidence in accordance with the stage of development of age are parents who apply the pattern of democratic communication. parents who apply the permissive and authoritarian communication patterns confident the child still needs guidance.

Because themes play such a central role in the presentation of qualitative research results, we propose a new method, Iterative Thematic Inquiry (ITI), that is guided by the development of themes. We begin by describing how ITI uses pragmatism as a theoretical basis for linking beliefs, in the form of preconceptions, to actions, in the form of data collection and analysis. Next, we present the four basic phases that ITI relies on: assessing beliefs; building new beliefs through encounters with data; listing tentative themes; and, evaluating themes through coding. We also review several notable differences between ITI and existing methods for qualitative data analysis, such as thematic analysis, grounded theory, and qualitative content analysis. The use of ITI is then illustrated through its application in a study of exiters from fundamentalist religions. Overall, the two most notable features of ITI are that it begins the development of themes as early as possible, through an assessment of initial preconceptions, and that it relies on writing rather than coding, by using a continual revision of tentative results as the primary procedure for generating a final set of themes.

This research paper aims to analyze the comparative between British English and American English, because many language learners or English users still confuse to differentiate both of them, especially in the countries where English is foreign language. Sometimes, it cause misunderstanding in communication. The research paper use qualitative research design with characteristic of content analysis. It uses observation and documentation in collecting the data. The obtained data is vocabulary in Oxford Advanced Learner’s Dictionary 9th edition which published in 2015. The researcher took 150 words to be analyzed. Based on the data analysis there are three differences in Vocabulary of British English and American English.  The researchers divide the differences into three categories they are differences in Vocabulary (word using), spelling, and pronunciation. The researcher found 50 different words in vocabulary (word using), 50 different words in spelling and 50 words which have differences in pronunciation. Based on findings of this research, it is significant for language learners or English user to know the differences of British English and American English and improve their vocabulary of British and American English in order to decrease misunderstanding in communication. The researchers hope language learners or English user can decide which English varieties that will they use and the can use one of English varieties consistently.

Communication patterns occur in every organization, including the Alliance of Independent Journalists/Aliansi Jurnalis Independen (AJI) Malang in advocating journalists. Journalists who are members of AJI Malang will find it easier to overcome problems while carrying out their journalistic tasks because AJI Malang has three main issues that are always the center of attention, which are the struggle to maintain press freedom, improve journalist's professionalism, and improve the welfare of journalists. The purpose of this study was to determine the organizational communication pattern of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Malang in advocating journalists and factors that hinder the Malang Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) in advocating journalists. This study used qualitative research methods. The method of data analysis used by researchers is the descriptive method, which describes the results of the data obtained.The results of the study prove that the communication pattern of the Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Malang uses the primary, secondary, linear and circular communication patterns. While the factors that hinder the Malang Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) in advocating for journalists are two factors, which are the internal factor comes from the number of journalists who have not understood the journalistic code of ethics and stopped the case in the middle of an advocacy process. While external factors came from press companies that were less proactive in guarding advocacy by journalists.

ABSTRACT Objective: to describe the most important tools of ATLAS.ti Software and to associate them with the procedures of Thematic Content Analysis. Method: It is a theoretical reflection of the Content Analysis phases of Laurence Bardin, associating them with software tools Atlas.ti and showing its usefulness for data analysis in qualitative research. Results: historical contextualization and the available resources of Atlas.ti software with presentation of health research involving the phases of thematic content analysis. Final considerations: The Atlas.ti software assists in the accomplishment of the thematic content analysis being this promising association in health research.

This research aimed to describe the form of errors in using affixation in Indonesian Language paper written by Thai students. The data were words and sentences that contained errors. The research was qualitative research using content analysis method. This research used interactive model data analysis through three steps. Those were data reduction, presentation of data, as well as conclusion and verification. The results show that there are some errors; 72 errors in using affixation: 21 or 29% errors in prefix, 9 or 13% errors in suffix, 9 or 13% errors in confix, and 33 or 46% errors klofiks (combination of affixes). The error is caused by two factors; 7% of interlingual errors and intralingual factor including 7% of overgeneralization and 86% of ignorance of rule restriction. However, the results also show that Thai students have not mastered or understood the structure of Indonesian language. The results can be used to develop the techniques of teaching Indonesian structure, especially the use of affixation. Therefore, the Thai students can improve the ability to use Indonesian language by channeling it in academic writing.

AbstractThe purpose of this research is to analyze the studies concerning the challenges faced by novice teachers in terms of various aspects and compare the challenges according to location of the studies conducted in Turkey and on abroad. 30 research studies obtained full-text form were included in detailed analysis. This is a descriptive study based on qualitative research method. In the analysis of the studies, a matrix (content analysis form) was prepared consisting of categories such as publication language, publication type, year, method, design, sample size, data collection methods, data analysis techniques and challenges faced by novice teachers. Then, studies were analyzed based on this content analysis form and the findings were presented accordingly. In addition, descriptive statistics such as frequencies, percentages and graphics were also used by using SPSS-18 program. As a result of the study, it was found that 17 of the studies were written in English, 13 of them were written in Turkish language. Of all the 30 studies; 22 studies were article, five of them were dissertation and three of them were master thesis. Half of the studies were designed as case study and almost half of them were designed as descriptive survey method. In half of the studies, qualitative research method was preferred. The most used data collection tools are survey and interview form; the most used data analysis techniques are descriptive statistics (percentage, frequency, mean, standard deviation). Most of the studies were conducted on small samples. Furthermore, it was found in the studies that novice teachers faced various challenges which were grouped under four themes named as instructional challenges, relational challenges, adaptation challenges, physical infrastructure and facilities of the school. This research is expected to determine the challenges faced by novice teachers in a broad sense based on the findings of the studies and guide for the development of induction programs.

The hadith mawdu’i (thematic hadith) terminology is widely used in contemporary hadith discourse. However, there are confusions in understanding its true concept since several other terms are associated with it namely dirasah al-mawdhu‘iyyah min al-hadith (thematic analysis based on hadith) and sharh al-mawdhu‘i li al-hadith (thematic explanation based on hadith). As such, the purpose of this paper is to study difference opinions amongst the contemporary hadith scholars in comprehending the concept of thematic hadith that gives rise to various definition and concepts. Literature review method based on qualitative research through content analysis design were fully engaged in the data collection as well as data analysis processes. All the definitions and concept of thematic hadith presented by the contemporary hadith scholars in their academic writings were gathered and analyzed to produce a comprehensive depiction.  Based on the existing definitions, the findings of this study illustrate that the present-day thematic hadith researchers’ conceptions are split into two camps. The first is the group that deduces thematic hadith as a study upon collection of hadith or upon one particular hadith with a specific theme while the second group infers thematic hadith as thematic lectures. The findings also demonstrate that the difference in understanding thematic hadith between the two groups are from the guidelines and steps in conducting a research. This is the reason why dirasah al-mawdhu‘iyyah min al-hadith is focused on the technical aspect of the initial hadith research such as takhrij (retrieval of hadith) or identifying mukhtalif (contradictions) and so on. While sharh al-mawdhu‘i li al-hadith concentrates on constructive research in depicting a clear picture of the themes that contained in the hadith. Accordingly, the integration between dirasah al-mawdhu‘iyyah min al-hadith and sharh al-mawdhu‘i li al-hadith would produce a holistic research on thematic hadith.
