Newborn with low birth weight (LBW) in Indonesia is relatively high even up to 16,9 %. The role of the neonatal nurse is highly expected to provide care for newborn babies with LBW by giving supportive environment. Neonatal Developmental Care (NDC) is one of intervention that aims to implement modifications to the nursery environment and care practices to promote growth and development of newborn with LBW. Most of nurses still have no information related NDC and its implementation in neonatal room. This study aimed to explore the influence of NDC information exposure toward nurse’s attitude. A quasi-experimental with before-and-after design was applied. This study recruited 21 nurses to participate as intervention and control group. The Paired T-Test was performed to analyze the data. The results showed there is an influence of NDC information exposure toward nurse’s attitude in caring for newborn with low birth weight by P-value 0,00. This study recommend that NDC can be one of nursing intervention for caring newborn baby with LBW in order to optimize caring for infant along caring for growth and development during their treatment in hospital.

Background: The low birth weight (LBW) problem is found in various developing countries with an increasing trend of cases every year. This is caused by nutritional status and a history of maternal health. The impact of LBW in children is they are more likely to experience delayed growth and development. This study aims to identify the effect of baby massage on infants’ body weight.Design and Methods: The research design used was quasi-experimental pre and post-test type with control group. There were 16 infants for each group selected by purposive sampling. Baby massage was given to the infants twice a week within four weeks, 10 to 15 min per session. Data analysis was used paired t-test and independent t-test.Results: The mean age of infants was 3.69 months for both group, the mean age at birth was 37.8 weeks (intervention) and 38 weeks (control), the mean birth weight of infants was 2,295 grams (intervention) and 2,288 grams (control). Most of the infants was male for both group. There was an effect of baby massage on the increase in infants’ weight gain with a history of low birth weight significantly with a p value <0.05.Conclusions: Baby massage can increase infants’ weight with a history of low birth weight aged 1-6 months. The role of health workers is to provide education and practice baby massage for mothers in order to stimulate the growth and development of infants. This intervention can be integrated with maternal and child health programs in primary health care facilities.

Background: The Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) is defined as skin-to-skin contact between mother and her new-born. KMC is a simple way to increase the life expectancy of low birth weight and premature infants. The purpose of this study is to explore the stability of vital signs for Low Birth Weight (LBW) infants before and after using KMC.Methods: the design was a quasi-experimental pre and posttest without a control group has been conducted in private hospital perinatal inward Tangerang with 30 LBW babies. Results: The result shows that the stability of vital signs with t-test the baby's temperature that the resulting p=0.001; α=0:05, heart frequency p=0.004; α=0:05, breath frequency p=0.004; α=0:05 and oxygen saturation p=0.011; α=0:05. The stability of vital signs through KMC could be a complement and alternative to conventional nursing for LBW babies and length of stay in hospital could be minimized. Conclusions: The stability of these vital signs through the KMC can be used as a complementary and alternative in the treatment of LBW, particularly those with low birth weight, which can decrease the duration of hospitalization and use of the incubator is an absolute equipment used.

Background: low birth weight babies (LBW) weighing less than 2500 are babies at high risk because in general, they are smaller than normal birth weight babies and immature organ function. LBW requires special care to anticipate life-threatening emergency conditions. The care process for meeting the special needs of LBW requires the involvement of parents during the hospital and after discharge from the hospital. Nurses as educators have an important role in preparing parents to care for LBW after returning from the hospital. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of child nursing interventions through the education of LBW infant care with parents' readiness to care for LBW. Methods: This research is a quantitative study, using a quasi-experimental design with a pre-post-test with control. The population of this study was parents who had LBW babies in Kendal District Hospital with the sampling technique using accidental sampling, the total sample was 40 parents with LBW babies. The sample was classified into two groups, namely, 20 respondents as the intervention group and 20 respondents as the control group. Results: The results of this study indicate that there was a significant differences in parent readiness scores in caring for LBW between those who were given and not given education with a P value of 0.000, used an independent sample t-test and there was an effect of education on the readiness of parents in caring for LBW used the Chi-square test with a p value of 0.002. Conclusion: Providing education to parents with LBW is one of the implementations of pediatric nursing to prepare parents to care for LBW.

Most causes of infant death are problems that occur in newborn/neonatal (0-28 days old), Low Birth Weight Babies (LBW) is one of the factors which has a contribution to infant mortality, especially in the neonatal period. Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) is a benchmark in determining the degree of public health, both at the National and Provincial levels. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Kangaroo Mother Care Method (KMC) on the prevention of hypothermia in low birth weight infants at Morowali District Hospital in 2019. The type of research used was a quasi-experiment. The population is all low birth weight babies born from May to July 2019. The sample in this study was all newborns with low birth weight born from May to July 2019, totaling 30 babies. There is a difference (influence) on the baby's body temperature before and after KMC with a p-value=0,000. The kangaroo mother care can continue to be affiliated considering its benefits for both infants and mothers, as well as increasing the ability of health workers in conducting KMC so that they can provide in-house training for mothers to be carried out at home.

Laparotomy is one of the major surgeries. Laparotomy is an operative technique that can be performed on digestive and urinary sistem disorders that will cause pain. This study aims to determine thes effects of kinesio taping on the level of pains in post laparotomy patients. The methods of this study use a pre-post and control group quasi experimental design research. Consisting of the intervention group and the control group, the number of sample was 24 samples with 12 respondent in the kinesio taping installation intervention group and 12 respondent in the control group giving standar drug, using a simple random sampling technique. Dependent t-test obtained an average difference of 2.08 in the control group while ansaveragesdifferencesof 3.84 insthe intervention group. Independent T test results obtained P value (0.001)<(0.05). The conclusion there was assignificant difference in the level of pain in the kinesio taping intervention group and the control group that did not have kinesio taping. Variable confounding has been performed statistically. The results shows that here is no relationships between age, attitude and belief in the pain of Laparotomy, while age is related to post-Laparotomy pain, kinesio taping can be used as an independent nursing intervention to reduce the intensity of pain in post-Laparotomy patients.

Completeness of nursing documentation is one of the quality indicators of nursing care. Based on the nursing practice law no. 38 article 37, nurses in carrying out Nursing Practices are obliged to document Nursing Care in accordance with the standards. Documentation in Inpatient PKM consisting of Siko, Jambula, and Sulamadaha PKM itself, based on the observations of researchers found several obstacles, namely, the lack of nurses given the large number of PKM programs that must be run, varying levels of education so documentation has a different understanding, this also supported by the lack of education and training related to temporary nursing care documentation relating to the Nursing Process and Documentation experiencing some recent changes. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the nursing documentation format for the model Problem-Oriented Record (POR) on the performance of nurses in the Inpatient Health Center in Ternate City. The design of this study is quasi-experimental, namely, pre and post-test without control group. The population is nurses with 41 people in PKM Inpatient who are in Ternate City. Samples were taken by total sampling technique and analyzed using statistical tests t-test, Anova, and correlation. The results of the study found a significant difference between the performance of nurses before and after the application of the documentation format for nursing care in the POR model (p-value: 0,0005 α: 0.05) while the characteristics of respondents included age, sex, marital status, length of work and education had no effect on performance.

The initial stage of a human's life in infancy is considered important because at this time the foundations of personality are laid down which will give color when they grow up. The role of parents is very necessary in providing early stimulation. Stimulation is stimulation that comes from the baby's outer environment. The baby health service coverage in 2014 in Bukittinggi was 88.4%, lower than Padang city as much as 90.6%. It is known that the number of infants aged 0-1 years in Padang city amounted to 3,498 people, while in Bukittinggi city only 629 people. Supposedly with a small number of infants achieving early detection of infant growth and development is better than the number of babies in a larger city. The design of this study was a quasi-experimental design with two group pretest-posttest with the control group to identify the effect of stimulation on infant growth and development before and after the intervention, which was carried out from November 2017 - August 2018, in the environmental health center of Bukittinggi City Health Office. The population is infants with ages 0 - 6 months, and the number of samples taken is 46 people. The results of the study carried out with the Wolcoxon test, obtained there were differences in development before and after the intervention was given to the intervention group p = 0,000, there was a development difference in the control group p = 0.014, there were differences in growth before and after the intervention p = 0.000, there was no difference growth in the control group p = 0.083. It can be concluded that stimulation plays a role in preventing delays in growth and development in infants 0-6 months. From this study health workers can socialize about how to stimulate babies to mothers for early prevention of growth and development disorders in infants.
