The sample size was consisted of 300 survey cases. Researchers used survey questionnaire as an instrument for the purpose of data collection. Descriptive statistics, correlation coefficient of Pearson, and multiple regression analysis were considered suitable statistical and analytical techniques which were utilized to find out the results from the collected data. The results investigated that social support had significant and greater impact than aggression on sports achievement of student athletes. It was concluded that if proper social support had been provided to university athletes, this might have reduced the level of aggressiveness from the young adults.

This study explored whether gender differences exist in social support, optimism/pessimism, and psychological well-being among university student athletes and examined the relationship among these three variables and the mediating effect of optimism/pessimism. A total of 322 university student athletes (159 men and 163 women) who were Division 1 athletes participated in this study. The research instruments used in this study comprised the revised Athletes’ Received Support Questionnaire, the Life Orientation Test, and the Psychological Well-Being Scale. The results demonstrated the influence of gender differences for some variables. Regarding pessimistic tendency and autonomy (a dimension of the Psychological Well-Being Scale), the average scores of men were significantly higher than those of women. Regarding the other three dimensions of the Psychological Well-Being Scale (purpose in life, positive relationships with others, and personal growth), the average scores were higher for women than for men. Moreover, significant positive correlations were observed among social support provided by coaches, optimism, and psychological well-being. Optimism mediated the relationship between social support and psychological well-being, and pessimism was negatively correlated with psychological well-being; however, the mediating path was not significant. Finally, suggestions for future research and practical implications are proposed for researchers, educators, and supervisors in the field of sports.

This article analyzes the impact of immigrants' educational attainment on employment in agricultural, industrial, and services sectors. The research compares data of OECD-20 countries in the period of 1980–2010. The goal of the paper is to analyze the theoretical interpretations of immigration and employment; to measure the impact of immigrants' educational attainment on employment by carrying out an empirical research in selected countries. Empirical analysis has been performed using the methods of descriptive statistics, correlation, regression analysis and System Generalized Method of Moments (GMMs). The results of the empirical research regarding the impact showed that high-skilled immigration has a positive and statistically significant impact on employment in industrial and services sectors, but the impact on employment in the agricultural sector is statistically insignificant. Medium-skilled immigration has a positive and statistically significant effect on employment in all three sectors. However, low-skilled immigration has no effect on employment in either agricultural, industrial or services sectors.

Background:The purpose of this study was to implement and assess the impact of a person-centered, feel-based self-regulation intervention on the stress, burnout, well-being, and self-regulation capacity of eight university student-athletes experiencing burnout. This was warranted given the negative outcomes associated with athlete burnout, the scarcity of burnout research focusing on student-athletes, and the lack of intervention research addressing burnout in sport.Method:A mixed methods design including questionnaires administered at four time points during the athletic season, pre- and postintervention interviews, and multiple intervention sessions was used.Results:Repeated-measures ANOVAs revealed that stress and burnout levels significantly decreased, and well-being and self-regulation capacity levels significantly increased as the intervention progressed. The qualitative data supported these findings. Conclusion:It appears that university student-athletes participating in this type of intervention can learn to effectively manage themselves and their environment to reduce adverse symptoms and improve optimal functioning.
