The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness of the conventional high school instruction about conservation of mechanical energy in Canton Sarajevo. To that end we tested 441 high school students from six different schools in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) for their competence to apply the law of conservation of mechanical energy. Concretely, students were expected to solve 5 open-ended tasks that covered conceptually different situations. In each task we asked a set of sub-questions to check whether the students possess all the prerequisite sub-competencies for systematic reasoning about conservation of mechanical energy. In addition, we investigated how students’ ideas about conservation of mechanical energy were affected by the choice of the physical system, as well as by the choice of the observed time interval. Data analysis was performed on the level of individual tasks. The students’ written answers were analyzed and the frequencies of most prominent student responses were reported. Generally, it has been shown that most high school students from Sarajevo fail to identify and distinguish internal, external, conservative and non-conservative forces. Also, many students think that applicability of the conservation law does not depend on the chosen physical system and its evolution over time. We could conclude that high school students’ use of the conservation law is mostly based on remembering similar problem solving experiences, rather than on relevant strategic knowledge.

<div align="center"><table width="645" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top" width="439"><p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study was aimed to develop a valid biology learning module based on SQ4R model as a learning material for high school students. This study adapted the ADDIE model. The validity of the module was known from the expert validation scores and student responses. The results showed that the validation scores from module expert was 85.45% (valid), material experts was 97.5% (very valid), field practitioners was 98.1% (very valid) and very good student responses with score of 94.96%. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the developed biology learning module based on SQ4R model is classified as valid and practical to be used in the learning process as learning material for high school students.</p><p class="Abstract"><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Tujuan penelitian ini yakni untuk mengembangkan modul pembelajaran biologi berbasis model SQ4R yang layak digunakan sebagai bahan belajar untuk siswa SMA. Penelitian ini mengadaptasi model pengembangan ADDIE. Kelayakan modul diketahui dari skor validasi para ahli dan respon siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perolehan skor validasi ahli bahan ajar sebesar 85,45% (layak), ahli materi sebesar 97,5% (sangat layak), praktisi lapangan sebesar 98,1% (sangat layak) serta respon siswa yang sangat baik dengan perolehan nilai sebesar 94,96%. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa modul pembelajaran Biologi berbasis model SQ4R yang dikembangkan tergolong layak dan praktis digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran sebagai bahan belajar untuk siswa SMA.</p></td></tr></tbody></table></div>

Insect is one of subject matter that has many concepts. In addition, the lack of teaching materials in the form of practicum worksheet that can make learning more meaningful and provide special skills for students. This will cause the emergence of cognitive load for students. Efforts to reduce the cognitive load on students is by developing a worksheet based on Vee diagram. The purpose of this research is to develop insect practicum worksheet based on Vee diagram to reduce the cognitive load of class X high school students, analyze the cognitive load and analyze the responses of teachers and students to insect practicum worksheet based on Vee diagram. This study uses a 4-D model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The sampling technique of this study used purposive random sampling. Data collection techniques, including: tests, readability and feasibility rubrics, and questionnaire techniques. The study was conducted  in SMA NU Widasari Indramayu. The percentage of overall validation is 96.09%, which means that insects practicum worksheet based on Vee diagram are very feasible to be used in the learning process. There is a decrease in cognitive load and positive student responses after developing the insects practicum worksheet.

This study aims to determine the feasibility of learning media electronic module (e-module) based on Kvisoft Flipbook Maker Pro on derivative material with Scientific approach using Research and Development research methodology. The study was conducted in two schools by taking 4 students as a student response in small classes and 20 students in a large class. The research instrument used in the form of evaluation formative form of teaching materials for material experts, media experts, and student responses. From the result of the assessment of expert material instrument obtained an average score of 101.25 with very good criteria, the assessment of expert media instruments obtained an average score of 116 with good criteria as well as on student response instruments obtained 86.44 with very good criteria. These results indicate that the e-module of mathematics with the scientific approach of the derived material for the XI class of the even semester high school is worthy of use in the process of learning in the classroom.

This interpretivist research aimed at exploring students&rsquo; opinions regarding two spelling instruction techniques, Copy, Cover, and Compare (CCC) and Flip Folder. Twenty high school students who previously received spelling instruction using one of these two techniques participated in semi-structured focus group interviews to give their opinions about each technique. They were divided into three groups for which three questions were asked to collect feedback about each technique. Student responses varied and included suggestions for improvements to these techniques: introducing a revision plan to memorize the learned words, creating word spelling lists, increasing the repetition of words, and taking a weekly test to assess their learning achievement.

There are various kinds of law violations committed by high school students, and one of them is using narcotics. Drug abuse is a serious problem faced by high school students in Indonesia. The survey also explains that the main reason for high school students to use drugs is to experiment or be curious. This is a serious problem because drugs have a negative impact on the lives of high school students and can damage their future. Drug abuse has an impact on every aspect of student life, both psychologically, healthily, and socially. The solution to dealing with drug abuse is to increase students' understanding through legal counseling. The method of implementing community service activities this time is the lecture method. The material presented relates to various violations of the law and narcotics. This activity was held at Yos Sudarso High School. The result of this outreach activity is an increase in understanding of the law, the purpose of the law, violations of the law, the consequences of violating the law and the dangers of narcotics for adolescents.Pelanggaran hukum yang dilakukan oleh anak SMA beraneka ragam, dan salah satunya menggunakan narkotika. Penyalahgunaan narkoba merupakan masalah serius yang dihadapi oleh anak SMA di Indonesia. Survei juga menjelaskan alasan utama penggunaan narkoba pada anak SMA adalah ingin mencoba-coba atau penasaran. Ini adalah masalah serius dikarenakan narkoba berdampak negatif bagi kehidupan anak SMA dan dapat merusak masa depan mereka. Penyalahgunaan narkoba berdampak di setiap aspek kehidupan siswa, baik terhadap psikis, kesehatan, dan sosialnya. Solusi untuk menghadapi penyalahgunaan narkoba yaitu dengan meningkatkan pemahaman siswa melalui penyuluhan hukum. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat kali ini adalah metode ceramah. Materi yang disampaikan berkenaan dengan berbagai pelanggaran hukum dan narkotika. Kegiatan ini diadakan di SMA Yos Sudarso. Hasil dari kegiatan penyuluhan ini adalah peningkatan pemahaman mengenai hukum, tujuan hukum, pelanggaran hukum, konsekuensi pelanggaran hukum dan bahaya narkotika bagi remaja.

Abstract: This study aims to describe: (1) the validity of student worksheets based on problem; (2) increasing the mathematical communication skills of high school students by using student worksheets based on problem; (3) student responses to the development of student worksheets based on problem. This research is research and development. This research was conducted using Dick and Carrey model. The population in this study were all students of class X Darul Aitami private high school. Sampling used simple random sampling and the classes used as samples for the trial were class X-1 and class X-2. From the results of trial 1 and trial 2 it can be obtained: (1) student worksheets are included in the valid category, reviewed from several aspects, namely: format, language, material, and content. (2) the improvement of students 'mathematical communication skills by using student worksheets based on problem increased by 6.9%, in the first trial results the students' average score was 73.4% and after conducting the second trial it increased by 80.3%. (3) student responses to the components of student worksheets and learning activities using student worksheets are positive. Furthermore, it is suggested that teachers can use student worksheets based on problem as an alternative to learning, with the guidance or questions provided that are affordable to students, so that students understand the problems they are given more easily.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This research was aimed to compare senior high school misconception with different class level on heat and temperature. This study used a survey method with subjects of class XI and XII as many as 68 high school students in Kediri. The instrument used is in the form of two-tier items as many as 11 questions. Student responses to items are categorized into three scientific knowledge, errors, and misconceptions. The results of the study showed that grade XI students experienced a misconception of 54% and class XII students of 63%. Most students experience misconceptions in the concept of thermal equilibrium. This research needs to be followed up with various efforts to overcome misconceptions in physics learning.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan mengomparasikan miskonsepsi siswa SMA dengan jenjang kelas berbeda pada suhu dan kalor. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan subjek siswa kelas XI dan kelas XII sebanyak 68 siswa SMA di wilayah Kediri. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa butir soal <em>two-tier </em>tentang suhu dan kalor sebanyak 11 soal. Respon siswa terhadap butir soal dikategorikan menjadi tiga, yaitu pengetahuan ilmiah, kesalahan, dan miskonsepsi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa kelas XI mengalami miskonsepsi sebesar 54% dan siswa kelas XII sebesar 63%. Sebagian besar siswa mengalami miskonsepsi pada konsep kesetimbangan termal. Penelitian ini perlu ditindaklanjuti dengan berbagai upaya untuk mengatasi miskonsepsi dalam pembelajaran fisika.

Interactive learning resources contribute to the success of the learning process and students' critical thinking skills but have not been developed equally in every subject. This study aims to obtain the practicality of Macromedia Flash in improving the critical thinking skills of Kurau 1 State Senior High School students. This type of research is a Tessmer formative test with research subjects of 30 students of Kurau 1 State Senior High School. The research data were analyzed descriptively, practicality data included the use of instructional media and student responses, showing that Macromedia Flash was developed practical for used in learning and could improve the critical thinking skills of senior high school students.AbstrakSumber belajar interaktif memberikan kontribusi terhadap kesuksesan proses pembelajaran dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, akan tetapi belum dikembangkan secara merata pada setiap mata pelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan kepraktisan Macromedia Flash dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa SMAN 1 Kurau. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah uji formatif Tessmer dengan subjek penelitian 30 siswa SMAN 1 Kurau. Data penelitian dianalisa secara diskriptif, data kepraktisan meliputi keterlaksanaan penggunaan media pembelajaran dan respon siswa, menunjukkan bahwa Macromedia Flash yang dikembangkan praktis untuk digunakan dalam pembelajaran serta dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa SMA.
