Dengan demikian, potensi lahan kering untuk pengembangan tanaman kedelai (glycine max L merril) di Kabupaten Bima sangat besar yaitu 31.352,32 ha.Abstract:  West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, is one of 3 provinces in Indonesia as a producer of soybean commodity. This commodity in NTB Province was developed to support the national soybean commodity, which has been still imported. This research was conducted in Bima Regency as one of the districts in NTB Province which has the potential for developing soybean commodities. This study aims to map land suitability classes for the development of food crops, especially soybean (glycine max (L.) Merrill) in Bima Regency. This research is useful as information and recommendations related to land suitability and can be used as a basis for developing soybean cultivation on dry land. The research method used is the survey method and secondary data collection methods such as maps and spatial data from related agencies. Classification of land suitability classes for each land unit uses an overlay or overlapping system based on criteria of the land suitability for soybean crops. The results showed that suitability class of dry land quite suitable (S2) is 3,244.20 ha with a percentage of 20.12%; suitability class of dry land marginally suitable (S3) covering an area of 28,108.12 ha with a percentage of 78.43%; and unsuitable land suitability class (N) is 744 ha with the smallest percentage of 1.45%. Therefore, the potential of dry land for the development of soybean crop  (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) in Bima is very large, that is 31,352.32 ha or 98.55% of the total dry land in Bima Regency.

Based on the research results, the implementation of maintenance is carried out independently by implementing an unit and special maintenance system. In the implementation of watering, pruning, silting and weeding activities, the performance of the workers exceeds the ideal working capacity standard except for sweeping and fertilizing activities. The perception of visitors to the physical condition of the garden is considered good, seen from the indicators of assessment including garden's cleanliness, pedestrian's cleanliness, cleanliness of benches, cleanliness of planter boxes, garden safety and the beauty of the garden. Suggestions in this research are that it is necessary to have a written standard operational procedures for garden maintenance and to propose tree pruning activities at least once every three months.

Malang Regency has a large area of dry land and currently being developed as a center for food crops, especially corn. Corn production in Malang Regency has not provided high productivity, one of which is in Wagir Regency. This study aims to determine the actual land suitability class, determine the characteristics of the land that affects the productivity of corn, determine the actual productivity class of corn, and develop new land suitability criteria using the boundary line method. This research was conducted in May - September 2019 in Wagir District, Malang, using a physiographic survey method based on the Land Mapping Unit. Soil samples were taken at a depth of 0-120 cm (minipit and drilling) at each observation points (42 points) and analyzed in the laboratory (texture, pH, CEC, C-Organic, BS, N-total, P2O5, Potassium, Ca, Mg, and Na). The determination of land suitability class is carried out using the SPKL (Sistem penilaian kesesuaian lahan) application and the modification of the criteria is carried out using the boundary line method. The results of the land suitability evaluation according to the criteria of Ritung et al. (2011) in Wagir District, Malang Regency, included in class S3 and N, with limiting factors in rainfall, Base Saturation, pH, C-Organic, N-total, P2O5, Potassium, slope and erosion hazard. Stepwise analysis result showed that slope and air temperature determined corn productivity in research area. Boundary lines analysis gave results that modified suitability classified as S3 and N which is the same category as actual suitability classes.
