As the students of English Department, the students should be able in doing grammarwell, in this case Possessive Pronoun. The purpose of this research was to find out the students’ability in applying Possessive Pronoun and their common problem in applying PossessivePronoun in writing sentences at 1st semester FKIP UNILAK Pekanbaru. The type of the researchwas mixed method in type of explanatory design. The number of population was 105 students, theresearcher took 53 students as sample of the 1st semester FKIP UNILAK Pekanbaru selected bysimple random sampling. In collecting the data the researcher used two instrument, test andinterview. The form of test was essay test. The interview is held to support the data. In analyzingthe data, the researcher used SPSS in descriptive statistics. The result of the analysis showedthat the average score of 1st semester student in applying Possessive Pronoun was 52.98.Meanwhile for the median is 48, the mode is 20. The score of Standard Deviation is 27.93,Variance is 780.25, and Range is 84. According to the Z-Score, it can be seen that 41.5%students’ ability was higher than average and 58.5% students ability was below the average. Itcan be seen that students’ ability in applying Possessive Pronoun was low. For the commonproblem, based on the test, students still mixed up between Possessive Pronoun and PossessiveAdjectives. Students used wrong pattern in using Possessive Pronoun, in which they still useSubject or Object Pronoun. Based on interview, students did not understand clearly aboutPossessive Pronoun, also they have difficulties in learning Possessive Pronoun, for the reason ofabsence of review the lesson. In conclusion, students’ ability in applying Possessive Pronouncorresponds with their common problem.

This research is based on students’ speaking ability who had followed the EnglishConversation Club (ECC) program especially for the third semester of English Department. Thepurpose of this study was to analyze the students’ speaking ability at the 3rd semester in the EnglishConversation Club FKIP UNILAK Pekanbaru. The type of the research was mixed method in typeof explanatory design. The number of participant was 53 students. The researcher used twoinstruments, those were test and interview. In analyzing the data, it used in descriptive statistics.The result of the analysis showed that the average score of 3rd semester students’ speaking abilitywas 45.42. It can be concluded that the students’ speaking ability was categorized into failed . Thescore of Standard Deviation was 7.02, Variance was 49.30, and Range was 36 points . It meansthat the students’ speaking ability was homogeneous. According to the Z-Score, it can be seen that49.06% students’ ability was higher than average and 50.94% students ability was below theaverage. In conclusion, the students’ ability in learning speaking English was failed, it had beenaffected by some factors, those were lack of vocabulary, grammar and motivation. It was supportedby the interview, eventhough the students’ perception to English Conversation Club (ECC)program was positive, but in fact, the students’ frequency to speak English was seldom, they wereless practice speaking English everyday.

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional di Kelas IX MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu. Hipotesis penelitian ini adalah pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan pembelajaran konvensional. Jenis penelitian ini adalah eksperimen semu. Desain penelitian ini adalah pre-post test control design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas IX MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu dengan teknik pengambilan sampel cluster random sampling. Nilai rata-rata siswa kelas eksperimen 47 dan standar deviasi 17,04 sedangkan nilai rata-rata siswa kelas kontrol 40 dan standar deviasi 13,40. Data yang diperoleh berdistribusi normal dan homogen, maka pengujian hipotesis menggunakan teknis statistik parametris yaitu uji t. Hasil pengujian hipotesis diperoleh bahwa nilai ????tabel = 1,67 dan ????hitung = 2,96 sehingga H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe jigsaw lebih baik daripada pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang belajar dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran konvensional di kelas IX MTsN 1 Kota Palu. Kata Kunci:   Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Jigsaw, Model Pembelajaran Konvensional,  dan Pemahaman Konsep   Abstract: This research purposed to determine is mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using jigsaw cooperative learning model better than students who learn by using conventional learning model in class IX MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu. The hypothesis is that mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using jigsaw cooperative learning model better than students who learn by using conventional learning model. The type of research is a quasi experiment. Design of research is pre-post control design. The population of this research is all students of class IX  MTs Negeri 1 Kota Palu with samples taken by cluster random sampling technique. The average score of the experiment class students is 47 and standard deviation is 17.04 and the average score of the control class students is 40 and standard deviation is 13.40. The data is normal distribution and homogen, hypothesis test using t test. Results of hypothesis test obtained value ????table = 1.67 and ????count = 2.96 it means H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected. This indicated that mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using jigsaw cooperative learning model have better than mathematics concept understanding students who learn by using conventional learning model in class IX MTsN 1 Kota Palu. A magyar személyiségszókincs taxonómiai vizsgálatához kapcsolódóan (Szirmák, De Raad, 1994) 620, a magyar személyiségtaxonómia alapját alkotó személyiségleíró melléknevek szociális kívánatosságát, azaz szociális tetszésigény szintjét vizsgáltam. A tanulmány a személyiségleíró melléknevek szociális kívánatosságának középértékét, szórását, z értékét, valamint gyakorisági eloszlását mutatja be tíz ítész hétfokú skálán végzett osztályzatai alapján. A dolgozat emellett a személyiségleíró melléknevek szociális kívánatosságának kutatási irányzatait ismerteti, valamint betekintést enged az angol, német és holland nyelvű taxonómiai kutatáshoz kapcsolódó szociáliskívánatosság-vizsgálatok eredményeibe.In the present study the social desirability is investigated of 620 personality descriptive adjectives from Hungarian personality taxonomy (Szirmák, De Raad, 1994). Ten judges rated the social desirability of the personality relevant descriptors on a seven point scale. The average score, standard deviation, Z score and the frequency distribution of the social desirability of the personality relevant adjectives are presented in detail. The study provides a short overview of the previous social desirability studies with special focus on the taxonomy oriented English, Dutch and German social desirability research.

Creativity is a person's ability to create something new. Creativity of students need to be cultivated by all of their environment, such as their parents, teacher’s subjects, or guidance and  counseling teacher. This research aims to describe the creativity of the students in SMPN 2 Padang, and describe the efforts to be made by the teacher guidance and counseling in developing the creativity of students. The type of this research is the research of combinations (Mixed method), the populations of this research are 536 people, with 88  samples using proportional random sampling technique. The source of this data research is from primary data collected by using paper test to appereance the creativity (AUKREF) and interviews with the guidance and counseling teachers. The results of this research are: (1) The creativity level of the students are in good category (71.6%) with the average score of student is 54.34. (2) The efforts made by guidance and counseling in developing students' creativity is to create a sense of safe to the students, recognizing the advantages of students creative, strategies or tips in favor of the students to be more creative, to help student who has the creativity to understanding their differences with the other children, give opportunities for creative students to communicate ideas, and provide guidance and counseling services in developing students' creativity. Based on these findings, it hopefully the guidance and counseling teacher can optimize guidance and counseling services in developing students' creativity at SMPN 2 Padang.

This research was conducted to find out to what extent is the students’ ability in translatingdescriptive text at fifth semester of English Education Department of FKIP Lancang Kuning University. Theresearch using cross sectional survey design as evaluation program. The amount of the participant in thisresearch was 24 students selected by using convenience sampling technique. In order to collect the data of this research, the researcher used descriptive text as the instrument of test. In analyzing the data to categorize the students’ ability in translating descriptive text, the researcher used descriptive statistics. The students’ ability in translating descriptive text was categorized into Good. The result of analysis showed that average score of 24 students in translating descriptive text was 73.96. It is hoped that the finding of the present study will be useful for the teaching of English, especially in translating descriptive text.

Abstract Modeling and laboratory simulation can help overcome of cost obstacle, time, safety and other constraints in laboratory experiments. Many skills also had the opportunity to be fostered and promoted, especially in connection with the construction of thinking skills. However, the implementation of this program required an evaluation, in order to decided whether the program will be continuing or not, in addition its needed to found the focused of on overall quality of learning in order to make a recommendation in the decision making. This research was conducted by the mixed-method approached with triangulation design, in order to evaluate the effectiveness, problems or any obstacles of the implementation of the program. The population in this study was the third semester of pre-service chemistry students at UIN Syarif Kasim Sultan Riau, which was supported by lecturers, assistant laboratory and staf. The sample selection was done using random sampling techniques. Program evaluation in this study was conducted by the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The results showed that the program was running quite effective when viewed from the overall average grades. The evaluation about context, inputs, processes and products had the good and very good score, in which the evaluation score of context and input, get the better score than process and product evaluation. This study recommends to be a continuing improvement program of modeling and simulation laboratories, both as an exercise before the experiments or replace the real experiments. Keywords: modeling; simulation lab; chemistry experiment Abstrak Pemodelan dan simulasi laboratorium dapat membantu mengatasi kendala biaya, waktu, alasan keselamatan dan kendala lainnya dalam praktikum di laboratorium kimia. Beragam kemampuan lain juga berkesempatan untuk ditumbuh-kembangkan terutama dalam kaitannya dengan konstruksi berfikir. Meskipun demikian, implementasi pelaksanaan program ini memerlukan evaluasi, guna memutuskan apakah program ini layak dilanjutkan ataukah tidak, selain karena diperlukannya penemuan terhadap fokus peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran secara menyeluruh guna menghasilkan rekomendasi dalam menentukan keputusan. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan mixed-method desain triangulasi, guna mengevaluasi sebab-sebab efektifitas, kendala ataupun kegagalan pelaksanaan program. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa semester III jurusan Pendidikan Kimia UIN Sultan Syarif Kasim Riau, yang didukung oleh dosen, asisten laboratorium dan laboran dan pemilihan sampel dilakukan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Evaluasi program dalam penelitian ini dilakukan menggunakan model CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program ini berjalan cukup efektif jika dilihat dari rata-rata keseluruhan nilai, mulai dari context, input, proses dan produk yang berada pada skor baik dan sangat baik, di mana skor evaluasi context dan input, lebih baik dibanding proses dan produk. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk terus meningkatkan penggunaan pemodelan dan simulasi laboratorium kimia, baik sebagai latihan sebelum praktikum maupun menggantikan praktikum yang sesungguhnya. Children with profound cognitive impairment (PCI) are a heterogenous group who often experience frequent and persistent pain. Those people closest to the child are key to assessing their pain. This mixed method study aimed to explore how parents acquire knowledge and skills in assessing and managing their child’s pain. Eight mothers completed a weekly pain diary and were interviewed at weeks 1 and 8. Qualitative data were analysed using thematic analysis and the quantitative data using descriptive statistics. Mothers talked of learning through a system of trial and error (“learning to get on with it”); this was accomplished through “learning to know without a rule book or guide”; “learning to be a convincing advocate”; and “learning to endure and to get things right.” Experiential and reflective learning was evident in the way the mothers developed a “sense of knowing” their child’s pain. They drew on embodied knowledge of how their child usually expressed and responded to pain to help make pain-related decisions. Health professionals need to support mothers/parents to develop their knowledge and skills and to gain confidence in pain assessment and they should recognise and act on the mothers’ concerns.

The objective of the present study is to investigate the relationship between managers’ professionalism and (technical, human, and perceptual) skills in managers of Iran Poly Akril Company. The research is an applied one in terms of objectives, and a descriptive-correlational in terms of method. The population includes all experts working in the company in 2012 as 240 individuals among who 144 participants were selected using the stratified random sampling method proportionate to the population size as the sample size. The data collection instruments were two researcher-made questionnaires of Managers’ skills containing 22 items and with the reliability coefficient as 0.96, and Professionalism containing 28 items and the reliability coefficient as 0.95. Their validity was investigated and confirmed by professors and experts of management. Analyzing data was conducted at the two level of descriptive statistics (frequency, mean, SD, and presentation of tables and charts) and inferential statistics (one sample t-test, correlation coefficient, regression coefficient, ANOVA, and F-test).
